The executive security program must provide a safe and secure environment for the executive. The level and scope of the protection must be clearly understood between the provider and recipient. Will the protection be provided 24-7 or dependent upon the desires of the executive? A senior executive is a valuable asset of the company.
We commonly refer to assets as property. information, personnel, and reputation. Senior executives fit all of these. The executive security program should be as transparent as possible. The security program is not the event and should remain in the background, but ready to respond as needed.
The security program should also meet the culture of the company. A company engaged in Department of Defense contract work may have a different culture from a greeting card company or baby product manufacturer. Executive security programs must be adjusted to meet the climate and environment.
Security procedures will have to be intensified if a threat has been made against the company. Travel to certain parts of the world will also determine the level of security required to protect the executive.
