gordon has some questions this in Ezekiel he asked the question of why is it necessary to cleanse a new altar as noted in Exodus 29 36 and verse 37 let me read that Exodus 29 36 and 37 each day you shall offer a bowl as a sin offering for atonement and you shall purify the altar when you make atonement for it and you shall anoint it to consecrate it for seven days you shall make atonement for the altar and consecrated then the altar shall be most holy and whatever it touches the altar shall be holy Exodus 29 verses 36 and 37 is describing to you the ordination service of the altar that there is a seven day procedure God once done when an altars first built to him he wants it ordained seven days he wants a certain sacrifice to be done so that on the eighth day it becomes an altar to him I'm sure you're familiar with the term ordination when men and women commit themselves to the Lord to service to the Lord they go through sometimes what's called an ordination service to ordain them to the task and there's a series of things they will go through special things to separate out and to dedicate service to the Lord and the Lord has specified how priests will be ordained and he has specified how an altar will be ordained so your first question here on this verse is about the ordination requirement not the cleansing of it the ordination of an altar and then he says is this also what's going on in Ezekiel 43 verses 20 through 27 a new altar let me read to you from those verses Ezekiel 43 now Ezekiel in these chapters is talking about the new temple what we call the ezekiel temple we think this will be the temple associated with the messiah in the Millennial age that this is the temple service being described there and that in chapter 43 beginning of verse 20 it says you shall take some of its blood put it on its four horns and on the four corners of the ledge and on the border around it thus you shall cleanse it and make the atonement for it you shall also take the bowl for the sin offering and it shall be burned in the appointed place of the house outside the sanctuary and on the second day you should offer male goat without blemish for sin offering you shall cleanse the altar as they cleansed it with the bull when you have finished cleansing it you shall present a young bull without blemish a ram without blemish from the flock you shall present them before the Lord and the priest shall throw salt on em and they shall offer them up as a bird offering to the Lord for seven days you should prepare daily a goat for a sin offering also a young bull and a ram from the flock without blemish shall be prepared the answer to your question is very simply Gordon yes that is the ordination service being explained to us for the temple for the Millennial Kingdom that third temple has not been built yet we're anticipating it's a future thing that Ezekiel spoke of and that's the procedure being specified for the Millennial Kingdom when the Messiah is there with us ruling and that's the procedure that will be done at that see just [Music]
