hello my name is Annika Suman and I'm a student at the Early College at Guilford in Greensboro North Carolina my story is about connecting humans to each other and to the world Bollywood Fusion Dance has been integral to my identity since I was three allowing me to express both my Indian Heritage and Western Culture by blinding dance forms from each a little classical a little hip-hop and sometimes a little hula hoop because why not through my harmonious Union with the ground air and my team I can communicate to the audience without needing to say a word at the NC State University's neuromuscular Rehabilitation lab also known as the Juan lab I research how robotic Prosthetics can allow amputees to reconnect with their senses through the Guilford College Choir and as Secretary of my school's acapella group I also connect with singers through layered harmonies in a variety of languages building a story or theme to communicate to the listeners and with the singers by founding my school's code club and project stamina and holding our camps and workshops I bring together computer science enthusiasts from a wide range of age groups to connect with one another and learn from each other we develop apps and programs that allow users to interact with peers online engage with an entirely new virtual world or even learn to build personal robots to extend our reach beyond our physical body through the videos I produce for my school's YouTube channel and the content I curate for my school social media handles I connect students faculty and parents informing them of current events and news at home I connect with my little sister and family as both a playmate and a guardian whether by choreographing for the bitmash dance company singing along with a harmonic motion acapella group connecting with female computer scientists through Wix or building robots by doing research with the intelligent robots lab I'll continue Building Bridges between students and their environments at Brown
