akira nakai and rwb if you've been following the car scene you might have heard of these two names before and there's a reason why our WB or Ravel's McGriff means rough world concept in German our WB has been known as one of the most unique and exotic poor children for the past two decades this is the history of our WB and Akira nakai in about five minutes but first let's start with the man behind it all Akira nakai Akira nakiya began his career with a drift crew named rough world he began his tuning career with the well known ae86 pushing the limits of the car this is when he started to make a name for himself in the car scene however his lawful process didn't begin until the late 1990s in the form of a crashed 911 that was being repaired in the body shop not long after he bought his very own Porsche a 1985 930 911 he later modified this 911 into the well-known Stella Artois 911 featuring his favorite pan of beer Stella Artois yes that's right nakiya son gives almost all our BB Porsches a unique and personal name that both reflects the owner and the car some examples of the names nakai-san have given to his Porsches include ruff evolution which was the first rwb outside of japan then the first target our WB was made and just simply called Targa other names include yellow Cinderella Riviera blue painkiller 10 and many more six years are still building his personal 930 911 he officially founded Ravel's McGriff as I said earlier raw veld the graph means ruffled concept rough world pays homage to his early days in his 15 crew rough world his driving style and also has built stop some people have called our WB Porsches imperfect due to the riveted bodywork and how some parts may be slightly different but nakai-san says he thinks of it as giving a car some character and soul every rwb build gets new front and rear bumpers side skirts and the infamous ultra wide fenders customers have choices when it comes to the fenders from the white to the narrow although personally I don't see much difference in the two anyways after the vendor choices our WB also offers a bunch of suspension wheel rims an additional arrow pocket just like canards fender rings and more a qur'anic I interviews every customer to get a rough idea on the build I'll match the owner style and how the car will be used then the parts are sent to the customer before Akira arrives assuming the customer is out of Japan of course then Akira arrives with this pack of tools and immediately begins to rwb conversion one of the most fascinating things about Akira nakai is his precision and his ways of working on cars unlike most tuners Akira makes cuts straight from his eye even when he sleep-deprived from working through the nights he still does his cuts all by hand and no measuring tools in fact one rwb customer stated that when knock i went to cut his front bumper to install a tow hook he was nervous that the circle will be uneven but to his surprise the hole is perfect and the gap around the hook was consistent although an rwb conversion may seem tedious a complete conversion can be done within a few days due to the fact that Akira knock I usually works throughout the night every rwb Porsche is created with form and functionality in mind however Akira admits that initially he built these Porsches for the way they look it was just a coincidence that the Edit with an ability to fit ultra white tires was also one of the advantages of a white tired Porsche despite this though Akira isn't a stranger to track this most of his Japanese customers ordered in rwb Porsche just to be a purpose-built track toy in fact in Japan specifically the Tsukuba circuit where rwb only events like the idlers 12-hour endurance race are held oh and speaking of which what is idlers the brand that Akira often space onto the tires of rwp Porsches and this is just a fictitious company Acura Anaheim made up but idlers is not commonly associated with the idlers endurance race I previously mentioned however like all modified cars rwv also has its fair share of hate and negative criticism especially when our WB Porsches are air-cooled 911s an era of Porsches that are slowly increasing in value and rarity despite this though akira states basically tuning a car is freedom it is your own way there are no rules or regulations you can do whatever you like I really agree with what he has to say because if everyone had this mentality there wouldn't be much hitting the car scene at all this mentality has made many others me included to admire his creations and spread a lot more to go against the norm and create something so unique and fascinating anyways I hope you guys enjoyed this video talking about the history and source of our WB and the man behind
