Action Items

  • No action items were assigned during this session.

Logging Into Direct Access

  • Navigate to www.datawatchsystems.com, click on "Client Tools," then "Direct Access" to reach the portal.
  • Log in using your credentials to access the cardholder search screen.

Cardholder Management

  • Search for cardholders using various criteria or view the entire list.
  • To activate a card, select "Create New," enter address, site code, emboss number, card type, cardholder name, active dates, and PIN (if required).
  • Assign access to buildings and doors by selecting appropriate access levels; templates can be used for multiple assignments.
  • Save new cards after adding access and optional cardholder details or photo.

Editing, Replacing, and Deactivating Cards

  • Edit existing cards by searching for the cardholder and selecting "Edit"; note that card numbers cannot be edited but cards can be replaced.
  • Replace lost cards by entering the new card information and transferring access.
  • Cards can be deleted or deactivated; deactivated cards remain in the system but are highlighted in red.
  • Recommended practice: delete cards unless business needs require deactivation.

Viewing Card History and Running Reports

  • Access card history by searching using the home address, card number, name, door, or message type.
  • Export history reports, preferably in Excel format for easier navigation.
  • Cardholder details screen also allows quick access to card activity history.

Door Console Usage

  • Program temporary door schedules or control access remotely without contacting support.
  • Unsecure or secure doors by specifying dates and times; groups of doors can be managed together.
  • Preschedule door events up to a year in advance; restoring a door returns it to its normal schedule but doesn't remove future events.
  • Delete scheduled events via the schedule tab.
  • "Grant Access" feature allows for immediate, remote unlocking of doors for site access.

Decisions

  • No decisions were made during this instructional session.
