Insights from a Movie Discussion

I want to talk to you about kids sure want talk about this is a movie that's marketed towards kids but it's pretty sophisticated well I mean we didn't really want to Target kids in general I think you we felt the adults if the adults were going to bring the kids we want the adults to enjoy the movie too and and in the mix of bringing their kids they want to see it for themselves is there a message for kids in this film well it's a lot of messages I mean with the baseball experience I mean that's a message within itself don't be afraid to try anything you know if you believe that you can do it at least try it and you won't know if you can't do it until you try it that's one message uh I guess me helping out another friend is and uh in in dire need is another message but I mean my friend so happens to be bug Bugs Bunny I mean who wouldn't help out bugs um I think the the initial message of of me with my father in terms of every father and their kids or or and when they're out playing and and they have their own dreams and they're working towards those dreams that support of a father to be there and some people don't have their fathers there but uh hopefully everyone is going to have some in in their family to support their their desires and their dreams that opening scene in the movie with you as a kid true and your father um that's really touching it's touching to see and I I think that surprised me I was surprised to see that in this first well when it when it when it first thought about that script or that scene I I figured that who doesn't have an opportunity with their father at some point in time when they're out either catching a baseball or shooting basketball to dream about what they want to be in life you know and and most of the time just to be a professional athlete but then nine times out of 10 is either have an opportunity and then they choose and go different directions but at least everyone has that moment of being with their father or with their mother and making a decision or or contemplating a decision or a dream like that and that that was one of the reasons to tie that into the movie that's a little tougher question but if you take away any sense of income about what you do and publicity or noty about what you're doing it gets down to the moment of doing it of playing the game sure what do you love about it the winning competing and winning and putting forth that effort to win uh I think it's just what you said I mean if I didn't get paid a dime to play the game of basketball I'll still play because I want to win I I love the game and hopefully everybody has that attitude nice to see you good film actor Michael Jan thank you very much
