Thank you. I'm here in India, Sya, Gya, Jala, Shama, Kha, Shara, Me, Kam, Yena, Das, Me, Sri, Gur, Vena, Maha Good evening everybody, good evening So, I want to talk a little bit about Sri Vitthala, Giridhara, Vena, Maha Because recently I've been receiving some questions of why this mantra? You know, like I feel people writing to Rama or to Asimma or Ma, I don't feel so close to, you know, Krishna in the form of Vrindala, Krishna in the form of Giri Dali. So, I'm finding it difficult to chant this mantra.
And while this comes from a small misunderstanding of what the name of the Divine is, so there is only one God, there is only one Lord, and that Lord takes many forms. And those forms are always attributed to his qualities. So when we speak about Madhasamma, we always speak about the qualities of protection, the qualities of mercy, the qualities that he surrenders to the Bhakta, even before the Bhakta asks. And so, Narasimha, that form of Narasimha or those qualities are qualities of God.
Okay? God is greater. And so those same qualities of protection are also found in Krishna or Rama or Mansya or Kurma, Varaha, Harisharam, Vamana, everybody. Okay?
And so, it is not incorrect to chant Sri Vittalangiri Dali Paraburam Nama and meditate upon Narasimha, Arama, or anybody. Because the name is not just a nice sounding name, okay? It's not like, you know, when we're born and our parents name us, it's like, oh, that name sounds nice.
Now the names that are... from the divine also represent qualities. They are one and the same. It's not just like, oh, let's call him Pandueta.
Oh, let's call him Vipta. Oh, let's call him Valisimha. Because that sounds nice.
No, these names represent certain qualities of the divine. So it's important to understand these qualities because we can, every form of the divine has these qualities. So it's not incorrect at all to meditate or to call upon Narasimha, for example, or Rama, for example, with the name of the dog, with the name of Giridhari.
It's not incorrect because they are qualities of Narasimha, just as Narasimha is qualities of Krishna. So Sri Vittala Giridhali Paramparaman Nayanamaha, what does this mantra mean? Sri is another name for Lakshmi, means auspiciousness. So everything which is good in our life, be it spiritual, be it material, is it food, is it money, is it good relationships, good friendships, is it tranquility?
and happiness, is it the ability to meet our Guru, is it the ability to come to the temple, all of these good things come from Lakshmi. And so when chanting this mantra, all of this auspiciousness will be given to us easily. Vidala is the name of Krishna, the name of God, which represents the quality of support, of service.
And of course, in all religions, they speak about how we must serve the Lord. But yes, we do, we should, obviously. The Lord is the Supreme One. You know, Raja Raja is the King of Kings. We should serve Him.
But, often, like, when we speak about Narasimha, we speak about how He serves us all of the time. Right? He served Prahlad even before Prahlad asked for... for anything, he was already there answering the prayers which were not even asked.
Did Prahlad ever once ask to be protected? No. And yet he was protected every single time.
And so we can see how Narasimha was serving Prahlad, even without Prahlad asking. And Giri Dari is the form of Krishna, the one who's holding the mountain, and he is holding the mountain to protect his devotees. So not only does the Lord come and...
and serve us, support us on the spiritual path, support us in our life, like Krishna says, chapter 9, verse 22, in the Bhagavad Gita, he says that he will look after the prosperity and welfare of his devotees. So not only is he serving us, but he's also protecting us. Protecting us from what? Well, all negativity. Negativity on the outside and also negativity on the inside is protecting us physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically from the outside and from the inside.
of negativity inside of ourselves that can pull us away from the Lord, which can pull us away from all the good things in our life. And the Lord, of course, doesn't want that, so He protects us from even our own negativity. And then Parabrahman-Neh is Parabrahman. Neh is the grammatical change of the word because it's a sentence for the Dalai Lama.
Parabrahman-Neh-Namah. Parabrahman is the supreme. one which is everywhere. So even if I wanted to run away from the Lord and I said I'm going to go to the opposite side of the universe because no one ever prayed to Narasimha there.
No one ever prayed to Krishna there on the opposite side of the universe. So he's not there. This is not true. He's everywhere.
The Lord is everywhere. I can run to the opposite side of the universe and he's still there. I cannot outrun the Lord. It might be scary to some, but actually it shows how close the Lord is to us, that He always is by our side, He always has our back, no matter what, He is there. What is He doing?
Serving us and protecting us. At all times, no matter where we are. Here, there, everywhere, the Lord is there serving and protecting us.
And that merciful, that kind, that sweet, that loving God, I give my obeisances, I give my respect. That's what namaha means. I give my love, I give my respect, I give my obeisances.
So we chant Sri Vidala Giridali Paramanetamaha even if our form of worship is not a simha or if our form of worship was Rama or our form of worship was Radha or Venu Krishna. We still call to them the Sri Vidala Giridali Paramanetamaha because these sweet qualities are found in all of them. Why? Because they are. One, they are one God.
They are not separate. They are one being who might appear to one person in one way and another person in another way. They are one God, one being. So there is no issue with meditating upon Narasimha or Rama or whomever and calling upon them by their names.
So even here in the Parnati Narasimha ashram, this is our mantra, this is our main mantra that we are chanting because we are calling upon those sweet, merciful, kind, loving qualities of the Lord.
