Here is Mushroom Ball for grades four to eight. You'll need one foam ball and thanks to Eric Gross for this game idea. So, in Mushroom Ball, your players will start spread out in the playing area at any place they want. And one ball will be tossed in. Just one ball as it's tossed in is a loose ball. And basically, it's a free-for-all for first person to get there will become a thrower. So, we've seen some players that tried to get there and one player has gotten it. So, that player is the first thrower. Now, there will be many different throwers throughout this game. it'll always switch up. But as a player is now the thrower, that player will have three steps before they're going to try and throw the ball at somebody. So that player can take three steps if they want. Uh this player has decided to not use the three steps and just throw the ball right away and hit somebody that's close by. So that player that was hit turns into a mushroom. So to turn into mushroom, they just crouch down, sit on the floor, and they're stuck as a mushroom. They won't be stuck the whole game, of course. Um and they can tag people that are going by. If there's somebody that comes near, they can tag them. And I'll talk about that in a minute here. So the ball is now a loose ball. So it can be anybody's ball. It's free game. So we see that somebody there has ran to it and claimed the ball. So that's the new thrower. So we have another thrower. And that thrower can take three steps. And one, two, three. We've seen the third step and has launched the ball but has missed all the players. So it's just a free ball again. Loose ball, anybody's ball. And we see another player has then become the thrower and has thrown the ball. And instead of hitting somebody, that player has actually caught the ball. So if somebody throws the ball and it's caught by a player without bouncing, then the player who threw it turns into a mushroom. So we have a couple mushrooms now on the floor. And remember, meanwhile, if players are running, like we see a player there has ran and gotten tagged by a mushroom. Now what happens is the mushroom that tagged them becomes a player and the player that was tagged becomes a mushroom. So they kind of switch uh roles there. And that's always the case. Remember, players will all be moving around the whole time throughout this game. and they won't be standing still like you see in this screen here. Um, and another rule is if a ball is rolling, a loose ball rolls near a mushroom and they get the ball, what they can do is the mushrooms then will try and complete passes to all the mushrooms that are on the ground. If they can do this without the ball getting intercepted by the other players, then they can both stand up. Or if there's three or four, if they can complete the pass to all the mushrooms without the ball being intercepted, then they all stand up. And that's basically the idea for mushroom ball.
