as many people as possible let them know that we are live Hallelujah and what a time we've had um this this training series will create for you a foundation a solid foundation you become immovable in your conviction and your faith in the Lord Jesus all right um I'm pretty excited about what we're going to talk about today but before we move on I just want to say if you haven't subscribed to this leave comments if this has been a blessing to you having said all of that I want to cut to the Chase and share something very powerful I want to share about the Trinity the reason this is important is because if you haven't heard it I want to guarantee you're going to hear it very soon a lot of people running around with the egregious idea claiming that the Theology of the Trinity was invented by the church um by church councils and that it was invented you know by the church and you will hear things like the word Trinity is not in the Bible Well the word rapture is not in the Bible and the fact that we have modern expressions for theology well rooted in the scripture doesn't mean therefore that they are not biblical all right um so the fact that we have words to describe these things doesn't mean that they are not properly founded and rooted in the Bible so I want to do something for you I want to show you that even in the Old Testament the Bible is very clear that there is one God and three persons and let me just say this it shouldn't be surprising to you that upon studying God you find some things that your mind finds it very difficult to grasp all right I mean if you understand God you read God and you understand God you just read about pigment of your imagination not God and for God's sake The God Who created mathematics should not be bound by it and so you coming from your simplistic understanding of numbers saying that you cannot be one and three at the same time we on news flash The God Who created mathematics cannot be bound by it you know I've seen a lot of people trying honestly to use illustrations egg Yol egg white you know and all of that here is this for an explanation God that's the explanation and we're talking about his very nature and the fact that the Transcendent God tries to use things that we can relate to so that we can um understand his ways but when it comes to his nature if indeed he's holy it means he's excellent it means there is nothing with which you can describe him not numbers not mathematics not is nothing and so it's not really about if it makes sense it's if it is biblical never forget this and I want to start with the text that a lot of people use as a rebut you know a lot of people even Muslims will use a text like this and say the New Testament is corrupt because the Old Testament was unequivocally clear that God is one the shamama Deuteronomy 6:4 it says here oh Israel the Lord our God is one Hebrew word for one is a card all right and here is what you need to know the word a card is what a theologian theologians will call compound Unity is is what that kind of one all right is a compound unified word and now I'll just give you a very simple example that will help you understand this therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife and they twin shall be one flesh Genesis 2:20 4 the Greek word one in one flesh is a card so it's used for compound Unity for instance when you're talking about a bunch of bananas that's a card all right or you're talking about us as one people you're talking about a tribe of people as one that's a card and that's um opposed to another Hebrew word Y which is an absolute singularity an absolute Singularity so it's interesting that the very text that a lot of people use as a proof text for unitarism what's it called as proof text that you know God is one and that Trinity is false is actually prove text that in fact there are three persons but one God okay and here's what I'm going to tell you every good student of the old Old Testament knows that the biblical presentation of God all right you you would always see God as an invincible Transcendent being all right but there was also the presentation of God as a man where you see him manifesting in a manner as a man in some text if you don't read carefully you think he's an angel but by the mod of soand of that angel you know there's no ordinary Angel an angel supposedly appears to um Joshua and then he says take off your shoes the same thing that God did to Moses this angel said to Joshua take off your shoes the place where you're standing is Holy and the Bible says Joshua woried listen No Angel no normal angel will receive worship angel means messenger messenger of the presence of God someone who proceeds from the presence of God and it is in this context mind you in some other context even pastors are called Angels someone who represents God all right in that sense the Son of God all right can be referred to as the angel of God especially in the Old Testament context so but but let's move on from that so you will see often see two Yahweh okay Yahweh the Invincible and Transcendent and then Yahweh being presented in the likeness of a man and one example that typifies this is Genesis Chapter 18 where three men were walking past Abraham's house and then he appeals to them please don't just go let me offer you some food spend some time in my house it turn out one of them was God and the other two were Angels they all look like men never forget this all right and then at some point in verse 17 the Bible says the Lord said so one of the men was actually the Lord the Lord said shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation and all the nations of the Earth shall be blessed in him listen for I have known him in order that he may command his children and his household after him that they may keep the way of the Lord to do righteous righteousness and Justice that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has spoken of him verse 20 then the a then the Lord said because of the outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because of their sin because their sin is very grave I will go down now and see whether they have done all together according to the outcry against it that has come to me so now the outcry has come to me this is one who receives prayer one who receives outc CH this is the Lord and if not I will know the Lord says I'm going to go down see it for myself think about that we I withhold from Abraham so this is clearly the Lord speaking and then the two angels leave Abraham and the Lord and go into Sodom so now you the story continues in Sodom with the two angels Abraham is back you know with the Lord and Abraham is interceding and all of that you know the story if you find five righteous people will you destroy I will not if you find 50 righteous people will you destroy I will not you know so this was the Lord receiving intercession take notes and then the Bible says in chapter 19: 24 then the Lord reigned Brimstone and brim Brimstone and and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of Heavens so there was the Lord manifest as a man and then the Lord Transcendent in the heavens both were the Lord how do you grapple with that so and then when you come to a text like Isaiah chapter 63 verse 10 talking about the children of Israel in the wilderness it says but they rebell and grieved his holy spirit the reason see a lot of people can find at least in a spiritual metaphorical way prophetic representations of Christ but what about the Holy Spirit a lot of people don't know this and that's why I'm reading this text to you and they grieved his holy spirit his holy spirit so God's holy spirit is seen as a separate entity here take notes and here's the interesting thing look at the parallel text in Psalm chapter 78: 40-41 Psalm 78: 40-41 the same text parallel text used how often they provoked him in the wilderness same story is being told by David and grieved him in the desert yes again and again they tempted God and limited the Holy One of Israel so now the Holy One of Israel that's God Psalm 7 8: 40-41 talks about the Holy One of Israel God himself Isaiah 63: 10 says the Holy Spirit one God different person so in different contexts he's referring to different um parts of you know God who has a trial nature and it's very interesting and noteworthy that you see the same thing even in the um in the New Testament in in some instance he's called the Holy Spirit emphasizing his individuality and uniqueness and in some other context is called the spirit of Christ in some other context is called the spirit of God Romans 88:9 Philippians 1:19 and then I want to read Galatians 4: 6 this one is interesting it says and because you are Sons God sent forth the spirit of his son the spirit of his son so he's the he's the Holy Spirit he's the spirit of God and then he's the spirit of the son crying AB father so we see that they are one and at the same time they are three persons clear in the word of God clear in the word of God and now let's go to Daniel chapter 7 I'm going to dwell more on this I think in the next episode but for every good Bible student this this hits the nail on the head I mean this this shocks describes this shocks all the all the teachers of the law Daniel sees a vision in Daniel 7 verse 9 it says and I watch till Thrones were put in place and the Ancient of Days was seated this is God his gar was as white as snow his hair the hair on his head was pure wool his throne was a fiery flame its Wheels a burning fire a fiery stream issued and came forth from before him a thousand thousands ministered to him 10, 10,000 stood before him the court was seated the books were opened I watched then because of the sound of the P pompus Words which which the horns were making I watched till the beasts Beast was slaying and the body was you know and all of that now look at this verse 13 I was watching in night visions and behold one like the son of man one like the son of man so now the Ancient of Days is seated all right take note in verse 9 it says I watched till the Thrones were put in place plural it wasn't just one Throne the ancient of days was seated now I saw one like the son of man coming in the Clouds Of Heaven he came to the Ancient of Days and they brought him near before him then to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all people's Nations languages should serve him his Dominion is an everlasting Dominion which shall not pass away his kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed two yahs two yahs all right so these are texts that should be top of mind you can't wiggle your way around it and listen your reflex should to study on something should be greater than your reflex to argue on it I have a principle as long as it is biblical strange is okay you don't understand how can God be one and three is a foolish thing to ask how can God what do you mean what audacity you've got well he is clearly in the word all right and it takes humility to embrace it and to say Amen yes sir let God be true and
