based on the type of transaction which we are doing there are high chances that sometimes at our work which means in our office we may be either very happy or we may be very sad we may be super excited or we may be super disappointed so all these emotions of happiness or anger or frustration or disappointment all of these come to us naturally when we do variety of tasks at our workplace but if you have observed there are few people who are very very emotionally regulated which means these people have the ability to control their emotions specifically in stressful situations these people are super calm and they are able to maintain professionalism and Effectiveness so irrespective of how good or how bad the situation is it is absolutely important for you to control your emotions or rather regulate your emotions and in this video I'm going to talk about some really important soft skills which will help you get that unique advantage in your career point number one which is fundamental is selfawareness you need to understand yourself well you need to understand your own values you need to understand your own style you need to understand your strengths you need to understand your weaknesses what are the things on which you get triggered what are the things on which you don't get triggered so careful evaluation of your own self especially the emotional side of it will help you understand where you are as of today and then you can identify areas in which you want to regulate yourself again regulation will not happen overnight it will take its own time but the first step is to be self-aware Point number two is strategic thinking while you are working on a variety of tasks on a day-to-day basis you need both an ey for detail for for the task which you doing as well as you need strategic thinking which is your ability to understand the bigger picture your ability to understand or anticipate what are the future opportunities or challenges and you can do this very well if you are emotionally neutral which means you don't get into arguments or you don't become all of a sudden happy or sad because of your emotional roller coaster try to have cool and calm attitude which will help you deep dive as well as have a look at the bigger picture Point number three resilience resilience is your ability to move forward Against All Odds which means today you may lose your job today you may not get the promotion today you may not get the award which you were expecting there will be so many adverse situations you may get into a client escalation without any mistake of yourself irrespective all these bottlenecks irrespective of all the obstacles your ability to keep moving is nothing but resilience the capacity to quickly recover from setbacks and bounce back stronger over a period of time you need to work and develop this quality because setbacks and failures are part of the journey if you are succeeding you will fail as well so it is important that you understand that at some point in time failure are bound to happen and you need to keep making progress you need to keep trying irrespective of how many failures you face so having the quality of resilience is absolutely important aspect Point number four adaptation to feedback a lot of people are not open to receiving critical feedback it actually even happens to me a lot of us are not open to listening to what are our areas of improvements what are the things which we have done well versus what are the things which we have not done well where we could have improved or done certain things differently so accepting feedback and learning and improving on that feedback is an important skill the feedback can come from your seniors Juniors or peers please try and develop the ability to be open to the feedback and once you receive the feedback you can reflect you can take your time and then decide what are the specific things on which you want to work what are things on which you don't want to work and the last point is your ability to persuade and Influence People specifically if you are in a lead role or a managerial role or above you will need the ability to pursuade people or influence people because you may have a lot of ideas your team members may have a lot of ideas but if you really want those ideas to come to life if you want those things to get implemented you will need that ability to influence or persuade people in that particular direction so the abil ability to convince others to have them accept your idea and also have them act on your idea all of those things come with experience and practice and that's where persuasion and influencing skills come into picture and they are very helpful for you if you are in leadership role in the long run all right so these were some really important soft skills which will help you get that unique advantage in your career they complement the technical skills and the other well-known soft skills like leadership communication skills etc etc I hope you like the video I hope You' have taken notes let me know your thoughts in comments if you're new to the Channel Please Subscribe don't forget to hit
