hello dear students how is everyone doing i hope you guys are all energized you guys slept well you guys ate well and you guys are ready for today's class right that is awesome i'm doing good thank you thank you for asking so do you guys have any questions regarding our previous topic and if you do i would like you to raise your hands i see no hands does that mean you have no questions well if you don't have questions for me i have some questions for you let's see can anyone please remind me of what was our previous topic on that is correct we were talking about different book genres right can you guys please mention a few of them yes we talked about literature we covered fiction nonfiction romance [Music] the list goes on you guys are awesome you really do remember everything that is nice so uh as i mentioned in our previous class today we will be doing a reading we will read the first chapter of a book called the little prince has anyone ever heard about this book or maybe you guys have read this book before no okay it's not a problem well i really hope that you will enjoy this book because this book has a lot of life lessons in it that we will be covering but there will be also important quotes that we'll be covering so today's uh lesson would be a little bit different each and one of you will get a chance to read and each and one of you will be reading three sentences we'll be starting with anad so anad after you are done reading three sentences and everyone must pay really close attention because i will not be picking the next reader so anad is done reading and anand will mention one of your names and the person that anad mentions will have to start reading from a point where he has left off are the instructions clear awesome uh i would like to also remind you that this book might be just a tiny bit challenging there might be some vocabulary words that you might be unfamiliar with therefore along the way while we are reading i want you to underline those words and write them in your notebook after we are done with an activity we will be coming back to those vocabulary words awesome are you guys ready nice a nod please start with the reading nice and that is the end of the first chapter there are so many things happen in the first chapter right did you guys already like the book yes okay so as i said we will be going over important quotes in the book so uh you guys have computers in front of you and i have already logged into a special poll so this poll is anonymous i will be reading out quotes and they will be on top of the screen as well what i want you to do is after you read this quote i want you to take a minute and think about this quote what does this quote trying to say or what does this quote mean to you okay so let's start with the first quote so here it is it is only with the heart that one can see rightly what is essential is invisible to the eye let me repeat that one more time it is only with the heart that one can see rightly what is essential is invisible to the eye please take a minute and think about this quote what does this quote trying to say let's see i already said i already see some of the answers and you guys did mostly correct yes so let me try to explain what this quote means there's only a finite number of things we can devote our lives to while we are alive right so we have to pick those things very very carefully so here's the second quote it is the time it's the time you spend on your rows that makes the row so important one more time it's the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important what do you guys think what does this quote trying to say take a minute and write your answers i already started seeing some of the answers and most of you guys are correct you guys are doing great job uh so let me try to explain this quote it basically means whether it's your dream or a loved one don't let anyone diminish its importance it means something it means something to you because you have invested time and energy in it you care even if no one else gets its significance okay that is awesome so this one the last one we'll be covering today is uh very famous it says all grown-ups were once children but only few of them remember it so take a minute and think about this quote and please write what do you think this quote is trying to say i already started seeing some answers so this quote basically trying to say is this this is both nostalgic and sad we are made up of memories and imaginations and curiosities but sometimes we forget how to be a child again after being worn down by the daily grit which are basically daily tasks yes so as i mentioned uh you guys had to underline couple vocabulary words and please now it's the time where we will be trying to cover them what's the word digest ha i see does anyone know the word digest it's related with the food yes so it basically converting food into absorbable substance so when we eat something our stomach does many things so that it can digest the digestion is to breaking the food down okay any other words reflect okay so to reflect upon something or on something it means to think about the subject in a deep manner to really really think about it any other words devote well devote devotion it basically means to dedicate you know to put time effort to dedicate yourself and if you don't know the word dedication it basically means give entirely to a specific person activity or cause okay so um we are done with the reading we covered some of the vocabularies what i will be doing now is i will be handing you guys a sheet of paper there are three questions regarding the reading that we did what i want you to do is write short answers to these questions okay awesome
