MAP Technical Training: User Management

Overview

  • Training on adding/editing users within MAP platform.
  • Review of different roles in MAP and potential users at your college.

Adding/Editing Users

  • Access: Only users with ambassador credentials can add/edit users.

Steps to Add a User:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users.
  2. View current users (active/disabled).
  3. Click on Add User button.
  4. Select a Primary Role for the new user.
  5. Fill out required information.
    • Password is auto-generated.
  6. Select Save to send email with login details.
    • Email sender: mapadmin@mappingarticulatedpathways.org.
  7. User must change password on first login.
  8. Options for email notifications and self-guided training can be enabled.

Editing a User:

  1. Search for user in the user table.
  2. Select user to view their profile.
  3. Options available:
    • Reset Password link.
    • Checkbox for Active User status.
  4. Update user information.
  5. Assign additional roles if needed.
  6. For faculty, assign disciplines for articulation workflows.
  7. Click Update User Information to save changes.

User Roles in MAP

  1. Ambassador:

    • Full access to all modules and configurations.
    • Responsible for user management and data facilitation.
  2. Initiator:

    • Similar access to Ambassador but no access to ambassador or users module.
  3. Articulation Officer and Faculty:

    • Focused access, cannot view student intake or ambassador modules.
    • Faculty see only disciplines assigned to them.
  4. Student Intake Aid:

    • Limited access, only sees student intake data.
    • Assists with loading student information and evidence of competency.

  • Last page includes roles and potential fits at your college.
  • Note: Student Intake Aid role is newly introduced and may not be reflected in all documents.
