[Music] here are some examples of bone loss or to be more specific intra bony defect which basically means that there's a defect in the bone so here we can see that the bone has been reserved and all of these pictures there is some bone loss and this is called a defect a intra bony defect and what i want you guys to know or understand is that sometimes we could have a one wall intra bony defect sometimes we could have two walls in troboni defect sometimes we could have three walls intra bony defect and let's look at the difference the way i remember this is you i want you to think of it as about a balcony so if you have a balcony outside your condo or outside your apartment and you only see one wall that's a one wall in triple new defense okay so it's a one wall defect you come outside and you're looking at a balcony and you only see one wall you don't see any walls on the sides because you only see one wall it's known as a one wall intra bony defect let's look at two walls so if you come and look at this balcony i'm just this is actually a defect but imagine it to be a balcony and you see two walls so you see a wall in front of you and a wall on the side that is considered a two-wall defect here is me a three wall defect where you can see all three walls so this is like a normal balcony you can see all three walls so that's why it's called three wall defect because there are three walls but there's a huge gap in the middle and sometimes you can see a crater which is just that depression over here and that is called osseous crater osteos comes from bone this word means bone so interproximal again means in between when we have bone loss that is dipped into a crater shape it was known as interproximal oscillator my question to you guys is if i was a period on titus and i wanted to fix a bone or i wanted to do a bone grafting which is basically a add bone to the area which one do you think would be the easiest for me to add bone we're going to look at um in a different class we're going to look at the different types of periodontal surgeries that are out there and one of them is bone grafting so if you said the three wall defect is the easiest for a dentist to put bone graft material inside you would be correct because there's already a box that they could just deposit the material but if you look at the one wall defect it's harder to compact in the same with the two wall it's harder but when you have a three wall defect it's confined and so you can kind of put the whatever stuff that you need like the bone grafting material into this area so it's a lot more easier this way
