Guru Nation thank you so much for watching make sure you like subscribe comment share where else you going to find this kind of content if not here good luck to you my friends I got my hands on a real life email with interview questions everyone's favorite so they're going to change them soon once the word gets out use it to your advantage being early like subscribe comment share and um the concept doesn't matter these are not for memorization anyways it's the concept that matters so this is for a CRA position and these are questions from a job recruiter so shout out to your job recruiters out there I'm just trying to make your life a little more challenging uh first question have you been in a position where you had to work without direction or without much supervision tell me about this position and how you proactively worked through situations where you needed support so I'm not going to give you an answer this is something you should know and if you don't know this is a perfect example of open-ended question where they're trying to figure out are you a self- starter are you go-getter we don't have time to be micromanaging people research is all about working without direction or supervision like I could go in there right now and ask my coordinators they're busy with a patient so I'm not going to how they do this it's every day they're in a position where they're doing this every day tell me about it and how you proactively worked through situations where you needed support that second part is hey you're working on your own without direction and you reached an you got into an issue what do you do they want to see how resourceful you can be can you look at your Sops and figure out what how you need to handle this situation can you draw upon previous situations where you've worked your way out of this they want to see your framework of thinking the framework is more important than the actual regurgitated answers you give them number two provide an example of a time when you had to clarify a Pi's critical eligibility criteria for a patient on a trial if so what was the eligibility criteria and why did you have to clarify it what did you do what was the result so we like at my site just last week we had this we had a patient who had a qtcf of over 500 on their ECG it was a the IE criteria stated any unstable uh readings on the ECG and this was after four attempts it's really up to the Pi's critical eligibility the Pi's assessment and the pi said screen fell but the pi asked the site asked us what does the protocol say so we refer to the protocol in previous situations we've when we weren't so sure when the study was newer we would email our monitor email the medical monitor so we gave the pi this information and that was the result the result was even though it's a screen failure we did not randomize a patient that did not belong in the study which would have been a horrible deviation next question number three provide an example of a time when you had a concern with a patient's eligibility for the trial where the protocol didn't specifically indicate that the patient was ineligible what was your concern why and what did you do we had another they just want to make sure that you're not bullshitting guys if you're trying to pass these interviews bullshitting you're not going to be able to come up with these things these are very well written questions even if you were never a CRA if you were a CRC you can answer this question but they want to hear it from the context of a CRA but in the case of our site just a this was a few months ago I know because I just did the screen fail invoices for this patient a patient had a history uh um the one of the criteria was no history of malignant cancer within the past 5 years and in this case the patient had uh early breast cancer detected it wasn't malignant yet but the protocol was kind of I know it said malignant and whether the whether the breast cancer spread to the lymph nodes or not we didn't have have that information yet so we had to follow up himas did a very good job our sub following up with the patient and um turns out that the patient after discussing with the pi and documenting the conversation with the medical monitor the patient was not eligible for the study so that's my example guys don't try to this number four provide an example of an adverse event where you needed to clarify a Pi's assessment and in relation to the study drug if so what was the adverse event and why did you need to clarify the relation to the study drug again and then the question is how did you handle this what happened they just want to see are you able to did you actually live this life whether you're a CRC a CRA those are the ones really in the trenches the crc's and the cras these questions really only apply to CRC and cace and site directors too I'm a site director um they just want to make sure you've lived the life that you're talking about like you a lot of you people don't know what you're getting into becoming trying to be a CRA with no experience not saying the person that sent me this email that's the case because they do have experience but um they want to make sure like even in an internship in our CRA and CRC Academy we have cases of Adverse Events we have cases of like the previous questions that I discussed even on an internship case if you read the progress notes well you will see these things so I had a recent example of a AE on another study that we have just recently the patient had elevated um pancreatic enzymes we were worried is it pancreatitis what's going on we did an ultrasound it was adverse event it was not a serious adverse event patient was asymptomatic we discovered it from the lab draws but we went ahead and sent the patient to uh Imaging for ultrasound where they found they weren't able to find anything and then with the medical Monitor and the pi we were able to continue with the patient with study drug and just closely monitor it so they just want to see what if what situations have you been and similar to this um if you are in the CRA Academy you will see these things in the internship if you read the progress notes closely you will find plenty of this stuff two more questions all right number five provide an example of a time where you had to clarify a Pi's assessment rating of a key study endpoint what was the end point and why did you disagree how did you handle this what happened so this is again really only for crc's and CRA I haven't had this happen recently I did when I now I have to draw upon my experience as a monitor on a breast cancer study I had a pi that assessed a patient as um stable disease when the images showed partial response in my opinion and so I had to clarify this with the pi the Pi still went ahead and said yeah even though the Imaging might have shown um uh a partial remission uh we actually this is why I'm arguing it's stable disease and that's the case but I documented it because I'm the CRA I want to make sure hey these things are getting audit my report is going to get audited by the FDA it could potentially or by the sponsor I don't want to show that I didn't bring this up so I brought it up hey you put stable disease I think it's partially partial remission uh what do you think about that so uh just document verbatim What the pi told me and number six provide an example of a time when you discovered a flaw a flawed process that was impacting the quality of patient care or data collection on a trial choose an example where you developed the situation what was the flaw process how you did you discover it and what was your solution in one of my studies this is recently staff are getting the lab signed by pi but they're not uploading it in the Creo fast enough so that that was the flaw was hey we don't have somebody like in real time uploading the data uploading the docu the lab results so to a monitor it looks like they haven't been signed if they're just looking at Creo so we either have to provide them a hard copy and say hey when they come on site here it is or in the case of a virtual visit we got to get our admin in addition to pre-qualifying patients to scan and upload documents properly so that was the solution good luck with these things guys they're really trying to figure out similar situations that you've been in and they don't care so much about your answers as to the framework of your thinking and based on your answers the extent of the experience that you've had good luck like subscribe comment share bye-bye
