what I would like you know going around on the news and twisting different places are reports that coconut oil and all these other things aren't as good for you as we thought they were most of the American Heart Association however let me tell you that the American Heart Association makes most of their money by putting these little labels on students that says the food is heart happy and good for you and one of the foods is they put their label on is look each other how about you but somehow a navy without knowing anything I see your lectures can be all that confuses eating marshmallows for breakfast is probably all I did for you ah and one little turns have a new thing out where if yours one of the ones you get a whole box of nothing but partial surrender oh and so it's what their little label on that and now let me charge can say we're good for your heart and we're looking for you and pieces to your children and these are also the people who are going around saying that coconut oil and fat for you and olive oil is bad for you and you shouldn't eat this stuff and somehow I have a really hard time believing them because if people start to understand that all these types of corn products are bad for you most of the American Heart Association label burn on heart products so where would they get their money from they would lose millions of dollars every year and would be companies not want you to know what the science was saying and the questioning said that that they're solid at room temperature but I Commedia buy the right olive oil I've never seen it at room temperature it deserves we work closely my matter no olive oil is not considered under percent saturated there is some unsaturated in it which is like not totally falling average computer mouse unsaturated fat an unsaturated fat how the bell wrong somewhere in the carbon chain really matter where but Islamic there's one done one in the carbon chain it now becomes an unsaturated fat and there are multiple double bonds in the carbon chain we would call this a poly unsaturated fat now one of the simple ways to tell if it's an unsaturated fat they are liquid at room temp now by the way the American Heart Association is also talking about to eat butter with the east margarine now there is nothing natural in margarine as a matter of fact the number one ingredient in margarine is plastic I don't know how thermos is that okay to feed us that stuff but they didn't and margarine and all these healthy artificial stuff it's not good for you and if you decide to change the butter I highly recommend you find the butter that is from a grass-fed cows so for instance I've I like all my butter from Ireland because they sell it your mouse called cherry butter and you could buy it at Costco they're pretty inexpensive and it has no artificial anything in it no artificial colors or anything and all their cows in Ireland are grass because they care about card is there and so it's not a problem yes they have it everywhere and it is a highly recommended difference between buyers and people because if you're on a ketogenic diet it is a diuretic diet so you want to have default in it so it helps to retain water in a bus that's the other thing too I passed this out and on the 27th how we're going to how to guest speakers will also come and go through the diet with you step-by-step so that you understand this whether you decide to go on it or not that's up to you in durably I amount some students who will go on this diet and the rest of you will be jealous of the students by the end of the six weeks because I'll probably lose Oh anywhere from 10 to 20 pounds over our sixth period I have several students last semester who went on this diet and probably all together once and she lost 46 pounds and she did that in about 10-12 weeks something like that I've had one of the student who he has lost over 115 pounds so far on the diet so let me tell you it is the nice thing about this guy's as you can tell your patient number one it's not a diet it's a lifestyle and number two you will never be hungry ever because you can eat as much fat as you want you can even like take scoops of coconut oil and just munch down on that stuff if you like it you will absolutely never be hungry the matter of fact I have in here a little bit of coffee and the rest of it is heavy whipping cream and if you're drinking that every day you're not going to be hungry and you're going to lose a lot of weight and you think absolutely the opposite one of my daughters as she is very ill she thought I was going to be coming in to talk to you and she has been on this diet she's lost all over 50 pounds on the diet she still overweight because of her illness she hasn't called Cushing's disease and they're trying to figure that out and but being on this diet she just had her blood work done now you would think that since she's overweight she'd have high cholesterol levels and high triglyceride levels and all this kind of good stuff and she brought all her lab results back from her doctor and the doctors like understand your triglycerides are perfect your HDL and LDL cholesterol levels are fantastic all of the markers that should say that because you're obese that you have all this bad cardiovascular problem they are excellent and she goes well I'm only overweight because I have this Cushing problem and as soon as this gets cleared up I should be able to lose all my life because I drink heavy whipping cream every single day you should see that doctor say hey look Janice that should feel absolutely the opposite to you so then she of course puts out their ketogenic diet guy and Amanda students at Oxford and appearances with our errors ago as I did you should reduce and the attractive by the anointing was not happy with anything she said in lungs at the doctor to talk to you they've been trained the same way the rest of us 4chan training this is how I was trained when I went to medical school fat is bad carbohydrates are good and it kind of started you a little bit of protein and you'll be healthy and look at us we're not the majority of us are not healthy people and one of the other problems is we have such low fat in our diet we're also seeing people having immune system problems because our immune system runs off a fact-based hormone and if you don't have enough fat in your diet you cannot make enough of that maybe hormones in order to properly run your immune system and now all the sudden cities floods of people having autoimmune problems we have a lot of children with autism and we have higher incidence of Parkinson's disease and dementia than we've ever had before and when you look at these people brains one of the things that's missing is the myelin covering on their neurons and myelin is made out of fat and if we're giving our children nonfat milk and giving them Lucky Charms for breakfast and got a bacon and eggs how do you things are going to develop myelin sheets on their nose well no wonder they have autism or avb because as little kids we used to drink whole milk and you can scrape the cream off the top and eat that feel like you with candy and that's nothing but a hundred FS and you didn't have people who had a BB and all these autism problems it was like 1 in 10,000 children have autism when I was a kid and now if in 50 what's ridiculous there's no reason for that absolutely at all but most people believe is a change in the American diet that causes this problem and if you start looking at other countries for instance like Japan and they are becoming very Americanized in their diet keeping a lot of our South Pacific and they're also getting all of our diseases rates of cancer have Donna autumn unity to have gone up obesity have gone up because they took on the creepy dumb American nut now they've also something called a trans fat and you've probably heard of trans fat we know that trans fats cause cancer there are all kinds of studies out there to show trans fat for the leading cause especially of things like colon cancer you don't want to consume those and it doesn't matter when you talk to their boundaries that your ancestor back ok so where do you get trans fat in your diet well trans fats are usually on saturated fats like corn oil canola oil there's another one because they're anyways these types of oil but then what you do to Max is heat them up so oh boy bean oil that's the other big limit to use discretion in lots of restaurants we take for instance McDonald's okay and for McDonald's they've been absolutely vilified and many many many years ago McDonald's used to use beef fat cow fat what we call Paulo they used to use the beef back to put the fresh fries in and then it's like a whole new terrible terrible restaurant you shouldn't use the saturated fat you're killing people from axalta okay and it's starting to soybean oil because it is unsaturated fat but be really good for you but here's the problem when you heat an unsaturated fat up to super high temperatures it changes shape the chemical structure breaks down and especially if you heat it at super high temperatures for long periods of time and that could be five hours to 24 hours a week sometimes a month that they put that boy bean oil into that big french fried back and leave it there and then keep it super hot and they fry pillions the french fries in it and it changes structure constantly all the time and becomes a transept so that way you're buying that child of yours a happy meal you are also providing them with low cancer sticks in form of french fries products and in traffic we went to a restaurant the other day with my grandkids to a diner and I'm very pleased that all over the diner is that me do not cook with trans fats so I ask them what do you cook list and then because would be set so they have completely gone away from cooking with you and separate that and have gone back to sitting with feedback and when experiment you don't read resolute those verses you'll be fresh fries okay I'm totally willing to eating them so we've gone away for the more healthy fats to thinking these other ones are more healthy but now we found that they are absolutely not the city of San Francisco haddock shibam trans fats and all restaurants so every restaurant in San Francisco now cooks with nothing but beach towels so any kind of fried food is going to be cooked in detail and many cities are coming around going ok you can't do this because this is person the genic and we're children our population of that one of the things I forgot to tell you this is really important you should know them embrace them the triglycerides are fat are for long-term energy okay the melt with wash when our body breaks it down as an energy source what is going to do it's going to break two carbons off this chain at a time to be able to provide energy for the body two carbon atoms on all right now in order to do this also you have to have oxygen present now that's why this is so important for you to know this so by eating more fats of your diet you can break down dissolve fat lose weight but if you want to lose weight and get a little more healthy a little quicker you can also exercise okay and we know that exercise is very important this is like I just rather eat chattin up to the exercise name I'm American and I can against our Constitution to do that exercise okay but if you get your patient to exercise which of course is very healthy for the body one of the things you have to make sure you tell them is not to exercise too hard if they exercise too hard you can't get enough oxygen to the tissues okay so how do you know if the Mays exercising too hard or not alright so when you explain here's the level of exercise I want you to get you and don't go any further than then you need to be able to talk while exercising now it doesn't mean like I'm talking to you very clearly and easily it means that you're kind of out of breath while you're exercising but even though of conversations okay I'm really tired you know but I can still talk you get sad yep and they're exercising so hard they can't talk someone there exercising too hard matter fact in exercise physiology we say they can't talk they have gone over there 80% mass and when you go over you're 80% max what we actually find is a lot of breaks down into them as you left so you don't want them exercising too hard and we as Americans we have a tendency to do everything overboard okay so usually when you tell your patients to exercise they lent flat out go super fast really hard and then they enter themselves into Canada exercise again okay so you want them to start off really slowly don't exercise every day start out at least every other day or maybe every third day in the beginning because you also don't want them to be too sore you want them to want to go back and do this again but don't do it very hard either because if you don't have enough oxygen we're not able to break the bond to release these carbons oxygen is absolutely necessary to break those bonds now one other thing that you also need to tell them is not to eat any carbohydrates for a 30 minutes before exercising and look at this in order to break this bond to release these two carbons you need the first enzyme called lipase okay that enzyme that chemical is like biological scissors it cuts that bond and we can use as fat as a nice energy source okay but if I need carbohydrates you know that when I eat five sugars or my car I will increase influence and it's insulin so not it will decrease wiping so here I am exercising trying to break down back in my body but I will not be able to if I have carbs in my system oh you don't have to worry about that I'll drop it like 50 times okay I'm just clipped like that I might even fall on you to just be prepared so if we eat too many cars insulin goes up and that inhibits lipase and we can break them down so you want to tell them Dhoni cars for about 30 minutes before and about maybe 30 minutes after exercises help you get a maximum fat burning that you should be able to get while exercising now if I exercise for 10 minutes as long as I need a ton of carbs afterwards I want to burn fat for about an hour if I exercise for 30 minutes I'll burn fast for about 3 hours now we used to say and exercise physiology ok we used to believe that you had exercised for about 30 minutes great before you actually started burning trapped and they've done a whole bunch of studies and some set up some with not sure which is awesome for your patients because now that you can tell them is if you just exercise for 10 minutes you will start running back just 10 minutes if I gave you which means that your patient could easily potentially if they wanted to exercise 10 in the morning and the afternoon 10 the evening together 30 minutes in and they get the same effect of battery and if they exercise for 30 minutes tree which is really cool because in the beginning a lot of your patients can't exercise 30 minutes straight but they can do a little bit of 10 minute okay babe might actually be able to survive that you tell them 10 10 10 and you're doing that even they just start with 10 min a day after and work themselves up to that 10 three times that eventually they're gonna find that they'll be able to do 30 strength no problem if they have that kind of time now we want to try to get your patient up to about 45 minutes straight back when you get a super good not only fat burning but muscle building really nice cardiovascular effects on the body if that's possible and here's what's really interesting I never notice some people will go first people to fit the exercise a lot to my arms Oh tired I need to go to the gym offices together no available when I go every time I get so much energy afterwards and I got for the trip one day on their body to nothing and they are exercising that exercise allows them to burn more fat which now converts into much more energy they actually feel more energetic after the exercise them inducible which is exactly how the body should you know that you are really optimizing your fat stores and doing what's right okay as far as being able to burn fountain you can do that and come out actually feeling better than when you learn it now one other thing notice this guide that I gave you is called the ketogenic diet all right here's why because whenever we break these two carbons off of our chain here we also form a waste product which is called a ketone and so when you're breaking more fat you will produce more key countries and one of the things that your doctor will tell you that holy crap this is so bad for you you do not want to make more ketones this is horrible okay yes or no you will never be able to produce so many ketones that will harm you if you're on a diet now diabetic people who do not have a well regulated homeostasis in their body right fat down at SuperDuper high rate super high rate if they have an uncontrolled diabetes which means they will make massively high ketone levels in their body ketones are acidic and they can change the ph which can cause all kinds of problems in the body even when them is more common but if you're on a regular diet internet will produce that many this is not going to happen you're not going to change the pH in your body roll but ketones are recycled in the body and these are the preferred fuel source of the brain when I told you the brand length use fat it actually like to use the ketone weight product from the break down the fat and there are a lot of papers dating back to the nineteen twenty that children who have epilepsy typically have very little ketone levels and it's all of the neurons in the brain don't fire correctly and we can get their ketone levels higher which maybe put them on a higher fat diet they're epileptic seizures will drop some of you may have seen there's been a couple episodes have been on TV about children who are consuming hands oil in order to lower their epileptic seizures if an oil is the fact you could do it with coconut -
