[Music] Ronnie Joe Clinton has spent 43 years at Midlothian ISD he's a Midlothian Panther icon that has impacted over four Decades of students athletes coaches and Friends Ronnie Joe was born in Waxahachie Texas later moved to Italy Texas where he graduated in 1968. while at Italy High School Clinton played baseball football basketball and track upon graduating from high school Clinton attended Navarro College for two years and then went on to graduate from East Texas state with a degree in physical education and history after graduating from college Ronnie Joe returned to Ellis County Midlothian in particular he attributes his first coaching opportunity to Earl Dietrich who took a chance on an unproven young and aspiring coach and offered him a job coaching in Midlothian as basketball and football coach while at Midlothian Clanton spent 20 years coaching football 17 years coaching baseball and three years coaching basketball coach Clinton is best known for his extraordinary record as a baseball coach with 236 wins 127 losses and four ties coach Clan's teams won four High School District championships seven by-district appearances and made one trip to the Texas high school championship finals
