Recreating Viral Slides Using PowerPoint, Canva, and Google Slides

PowerPoint

Steps:

  1. Insert Text Box

    • Write the desired word (e.g., India).
    • Make the text larger and align it to the center.
    • Pick a bold font (e.g., Montserrat Black from Google Fonts).
  2. Create a Mask

    • Insert a rectangle covering the entire slide.
    • Right-click and send the rectangle to the back.
    • Select both text and rectangle and go to Merge Shapes > Combine.
    • Remove the outline by selecting No Outline.
    • Save the mask as a PNG image (Right-click > Save as Picture).
  3. Add Image

    • Import an image (e.g., from Unsplash).
    • Right-click the image and send it to the back.
    • Use the crop tool to fit the image to the slide.
    • Apply crop and fill adjustments.
  4. Animate

    • Duplicate the slide (Ctrl + D).
    • Zoom out and enlarge the text mask so it doesn’t touch the image.
    • Resize and reposition using the panel size and aspect ratio lock.
    • Make the image larger.
    • Apply the Morph transition (Transitions > Morph).

Canva

Steps:

  1. Create Presentation

    • Select the presentation template.
    • Go to Elements > Frames and find individual letters.
    • Insert letters for the word (e.g., I-N-D-I-A).
  2. Add Background and Images

    • Change the background color to black.
    • Import an image and align it within the letter placeholders.
    • Repeat for each letter.
    • Note: Limited animation capabilities in Canva.
  3. Alternative Method

    • Use the mask created in PowerPoint.
    • Change the background color.
    • Import the image and send it to the back.
    • Use the Stomp animation effect (Animate > Stomp).

Google Slides

Steps:

  1. Create Word Art

    • Insert word art (Insert > Word Art) and write the word.
    • Make the word larger and center it.
    • Use the Zilla Slab Highlight font (More Fonts > Zilla Slab Highlight).
    • Make the font bolder and change the color to black.
  2. Create a Mask

    • Insert rectangles around the text to cover the background.
    • Remove outlines and change rectangle color to black.
  3. Add Image

    • Import the image and send it to the back.
    • Position the image to align with the text mask.
  4. Alternative Method

    • Use the mask created in PowerPoint.
    • Import the image and send it to back.
    • Apply the fade-out animation (Animate > Fade Out).
