The call for net zero still stands and we are grateful for your presence and support in responding to the global call to double energy efficiency on the road to 2030. It's exciting days for energy efficiency. The world started to realize that we will need concrete action in what the International Energy Agency, IEA, calls the decade of action. Everyone can be a part of making energy efficiency achievable in the Philippines. Two months ago, the President issued Administrative Order No. 15, which calls for integrating and accelerating energy efficiency and conservation measures in the government. It's not about choosing climate or growth.
Increasingly the two are inexorably linked. Indeed in the UK between 1990 and 2022 we achieved GDP growth of 79% while public emissions by 50%. The two can go round the world.
I'm very happy to be able to share with you that Denmark has had a remarkable economic recovery since then and we are now a third of the world's... for which this country will. Our research shows that it is possible to decarbonize energy completely by 2050 and make it more accessible.
But to do this we need to look at energy differently. Electricity is the cleanest and most efficient energy source. By transitioning, we can equalize supply and demand and accelerate towards the net zero target.
I'm so happy to be in a company of energy efficiency champions today. The country's key geographical position, combined with our abundant human and natural resources, identifies the Philippines to be a vital host for these priority sectors. All told, JG Summit is embarking on a comprehensive climate action initiative, a three-year low-carbon transition roadmap crafted to address key areas critical for mitigating climate change while simultaneously fortifying the conglomerate's position as a leader in energy efficiency. The Low Carbon Transition Roadmap is structured around three main pillars. Alignment to science-based target initiatives, carbon reduction initiatives and offset opportunities, and carbon removal technologies and business models.
Ladies and gentlemen, Sweden is committed to building a long-term and sustainable relationship with the Philippines for the green transition. This is attested by the visits of our Minister of Trade, Johan Forssell, last year, the visit of State Secretary for Foreign affairs Jan Knudson earlier this year and the visit of Markus Wallenberg two weeks ago. Mr. Wallenberg is a leading industrialist and banker and the Wallenberg sphere has a strong focus on research and development and innovation not only in defense and security but also in how new technologies and industries can assist us in the green and digital transition.
To conclude, ADB has committed to provide 10 billion dollars of climate finance to the Philippines in the next five years. We are eager to deliver technical assistance, concessional finance and grant funding to help meet the goals of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act. We look forward to working with all of you in this endeavor.
Thank you for your attention. And we, as one of the many energy practitioners, energy solutions providers in the Philippines, we act like building doctors. We try to diagnose your buildings on how you can improve the efficiency. We offer the solutions.
And basically, we make your buildings more healthy, more efficient. Educating the public and raising awareness on HVAC best practice is just as necessary as the product development, with strong emphasis on energy efficiency. As a manufacturer of air conditioning equipment, it is our responsibility to develop more efficient products that would enhance the potential of air conditioner to its full potential without compromising comfort.
Performance-based energy-centric solution. I think every building has a different solution, sorry, different characteristics, different solutions, different everything. So we are like as I said, that we need to understand each building. So each one will have a different solution to their, so there's no one fit, one brand solution for everything.
So it's more on looking at everything at a holistic level. So, So from audit, simulation, materialization, so construction, verification is very important afterwards. And then we optimize after verification to improve more on the efficiency. So we gain a continuous cycle on this one. At the end of the day, what we want to bring awareness to the audience over here is that please do not delay your decisions.
Lighting is probably the easiest and the quickest way to promote corporate climate sustainability and begin your journey towards energy efficiency itself. We firmly believe that a transformative, climate resilient, climate smart, low carbon, and sustainable Philippines is possible through enhanced and strengthened cooperation among partners and stakeholders. most especially with you who are joining us today. I invite everyone present here today to continue to join hands and foster collaborative climate actions that will reach up to the to the last mile, especially our most vulnerable communities. Together, let's create a partnership that works for our nation.
