because he is our tree and we are just the branches let us ask him for guidance and Direction even as we walk through this new month I'm very sure none of us has been in the month of July 2024 before let us ask God for direction let us ask God for commission let us ask God for instruction let us ask God lord what do you want me to do how do you want me to go about this month in the name of Jesus The Book of Proverbs Proverbs Chapter three uh verses 5 and six actually says that we should trust in the Lord Lord with all our heart and we should not lean on our own understanding and you see the repercussion you say in all our ways we should submit to him and he will make our path straight let us ask God for direction and for guidance and let us ask God for strength to be able to carry on in the name of Jesus the book of Isaiah chapter 40 Isaiah 40:29 actually says that he gives strength to the weary to the weak and increases the power of those that are awake let us ask God for wisdom it's very important let us ask him to give us wisdom the Book of James actually say in verse one I mean chapter 1 verse 5 he say if any of you lack wisdom which will lack let him ask of God and it is only God that can give generously without finding fault and he will give it to you in Jesus name let us pray for favor of God in all our endeavors this month I'm the the month of July and beyond that we need his favor for open doors for the opportunities that God will present before us so that we will be able to walk in them in the name of Jesus Psalms 5 actually saying in verse 12 he said for surely oh Lord you bless the righteous you surround them with your favor as with a shield let us ask for Faith to be able to carry on increase our faith Lord even in the face of challenges in the month of July I will not paint it like it's going to be Bed of Roses or true that could be challenges here and there but our Lord God is able to navigate us through it and we will pass through the they return back and the question is why would anyone want to return back to a prison cell after Freedom why would everyone return to confinement after enjoying total Liberty and my prayer today is that anyone that the Lord has set free you remain free in the mighty name of Jesus I say you remain free that is true of Believers today Redemption sets us free he set us free from sin but how many Believers or so called Believers remain in that freedom they receive Jesus they confess him they get excited but soon they return back to where they came from and when they return they return into then the whole Community the whole Community began weeping aloud they cried all night these were the community of the of the children of Israel whom God just delivered from the Captivity of Egypt so the whole Community were weeping aloud and they cried all night their voices Rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron if only we had died in Egypt even here in the wilderness they complained why is the Lord taking us to this country only to have us to have us die in battle they were complaining why would they go to the next place in their life why would they go upward why would they remain upward it says our wives and our little ones will be carried off as plunder wouldn't it be better for us to return to Egypt that was their question to them it was better to go back back to captivity they F that the challenges of the present time the challenges of the current Liberty was worse of than the freedom that their current state provided for them many of us as Believers are living exactly that way we don't want to let go Egypt we feel that Egypt was so near just very near to let go and so to remain in the next place the upward place the place of stability the place where you have Fellowship where you have total Liberty in close fellowship with the almighty God they F that place was not good enough every Spirit of Egypt will die today in the mighty name of Jesus I said they will die today so for us to stay out of captivity like the Captivity of Egypt we have to put our ourselves in the power that set us free from that captivity I wish we had the power to set ourselves free then we would have been able to say oh the power that Set Me Free that I had Within Me will be able to sustain me but it was the power of the almighty God that can set anyone free for whosoever the son of man sets free that person is free indeed and if he's the one that sets you free he's the only one that can sustain your freedom if he's the one that made you to go up world is the only one that can sustain you in that high position in every aspect of your life but the question is how do we remain upward how can you guarantee how do I guarantee that I remain upward it is God's desire for him to set you free and make you to climb up and remain and to make you to climb up it is also his desire to ensure you remain that place for him to set you free and set me free from captivity according to his will and his purpose it is also in accordance to his will that we remain in that place if anything to make us to begin to grow from that place of freedom and keep growing up what must we do in order to remain in that upward position number one is we have to adapt to the new environment you have to adapt to the new environment the Christian race is new to many the precepts the Commandments are new to many the environment is new to many that is why this place not a nightclub to many is new when you get into a nightclub is different the lifestyle over there and the lifestyle here is different so you have to adapt to the new environment is it easy to adapt no is it easy to embrace change no change even if it is inevit table is hard to embrace that you and me where we used to be things we used to do and now we detest them it's hard but possible through the power of the almighty God we must realize that in the new environment there will be new influences the old influences in the old order in Egypt must be left in Egypt in the kingdom of God the the environment is different and if you must stay in that environment you must embrace the environment how do you do that your relationships will have to change your companionships will have to change those you hang out with in the we have to change if you don't change them they will pull you back in no time the things that you used to enjoy will have to change you must have to adapt and say goodbye to the Past in order to remain where God has positioned you in the present praise the Lord and that takes us to number two we must be determined to gain total control over your past self over my past self what does that mean there is you there is a you there is a me in yesterday and that you or me of yesterday is in contention with you or me in the present so until you Sease control of that power that is trying to make you to adapt to yesterday oh it will be hard for you to remain up but by the mercies of God you will remain up in the name of Jesus that force of yesterday that will keep reminding you of yesterday oh all the food I used to eat yesterday the places used to go yesterday the people people you hang out with yesterday the kind of clothes you used to put on yesterday those forces will come to tell you that you of today you have changed you are no longer current it you tell you you you are looking up to date you are looking out of date but it will take determination except you want your yesterday to pull you down you must be determined to say my yesterday you are gone with yesterday today is a new day and this new day will bring joy this new day will bring me peace every habits of yesterday the habits that you do in the open ignorantly and the habits that you know that are wrong in your closet of yesterday they are no longer permissible in your today if you have to remain with God and to stay up and by the grace of God you will go up and remain up going up and remain up does not just mean financially Brethren it has a very strong spiritual connotation going up and remaining up in your marriage the things you to enjoy as a single lady or a single man will no longer be permissible if that marriage must stay up the kind of people you used to hang out with they must change for instance a single woman a single man even if you have companionship your best friend will not be a single uh I mean for a married couple a married man a married woman your best friend will not be a single person or you leave your home and begin to hang out with single people what are you doing what are you discussing they may not be relevant to your marriage in as much as you want to Fellowship you must be able to identify with people in your new environment for instance career professionals a career professional will hanger with people in their domain of industry where you can benefit from them if you spend all your time with people who are not in the same industry the little you know over time you forget it the same way spiritually when we come to God I will say now we have new relationship with God our best friends should not be sinners we are not judging but our best friends should not be people who detest to live according to the words of God our best friends will not be people when they are out there you will not be able to identify them with anything that God says so but if you continue to keep it and say oh I know the God that I have in no time you become like them so you have to embrace a new you and let the past be gone praise the Lord as you do so you be able to stay like I said before God's desire is for you to stay for you to stay up and remain up and for me also to stay up and and remain up in the mighty name of Jesus so nothing will take us down none of us shall go down every satanic plan and devices to make us to return to our yesterday all those plans shall fail in the name of Jesus so we must gain [Music] control um these are not the things that you say oh maybe oh I don't know because you know you know know the things you used to do before you say now I'm a Child of God you know the things you used to do before you say now I am married you know the things you used to do now you say now I a businessman when you are in business business changes you when you are in a business if you're a businessman or a business woman your practices will change if you want your business to stay up you you have to work you want to remain in that career in that industry BR you have to work the Bible says watch and pray after you have prayed you cannot keep your eyes closed and be walking you will trip and fall you pray you open your eyes and watch out for every potential danger so that the name of the Lord be glorified and in that name shall be glorified in your life and in my life number three we must seek to understand God's P perspective of who we are now who are you now in that upward Place who are you now you must seek to understand who you are if you don't understand who you are the word will give you a name name if you don't know who you are others will tell you who you are and they will not tell you they will not give you a good name but God has given you a good name every name that is not of the Lord that the enemy wants to give to you or me will not stand in the name of Jesus you used to be a sinner you used to be a sinner you are no longer a sinner if you are in Christ and you are striving for righteousness and so don't let what happened when you were in sin to come to torment you but now you have embraced Jesus and he has a new name for you and that name is that name of our Lord Jesus Christ that he has given unto you that as you put on that name of Jesus upon you the righteousness of Jesus is upon you you are striving for righteousness the Lord is taking you to a place and he will give you a name that is glorious a name that is peaceful a name that is powerful a name that is strength a name that no obstacle will be able to stand against you a name that is fruitful against whatever name that the enemy has provided number four we must acknowledge our weakness weaknesses if you want to remain up it takes strength to remain up you must acknowledge your weaknesses back because by your strength you cannot stay there and depend upon God's help to stay upward acknowledge your weaknesses and depend upon God's help the scripture tells us that by strength shall no man prevail it is not by mind nor by SP nor by power but it is by my spirit says the Lord Zechariah 4:6 so if you want to stay up your strength did not take you up so only the power of God can take you up praise the Lord so why not depend upon that power 2 Corinthians 3:17 says now the the Lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty if you are in the presence of the almighty God depending upon him as long as you are depending upon Him He will surround you with his presence and you enjoy the Liberty that every Force trying to bring you down will fail in the name of Jesus and they will fail in the mighty name of Jesus number five we must determine to live by the word of God what God gave us as a representation of himself is the word if you read the word you are communicating with God if you listen to messages from I mean based on true word of God you are communicating with God plus the holy spirit of God that dwells inside of you so the word of God is your standard that standard lifts up a man that standard sustains a man that standard promotes a man and when I say man I mean everyone and that standard as long as you live by that standard you are going up and you shall stay up in the mighty name of Jesus James 1 verse 22-2 says don't just listen to God's word many of us are listening now don't just listen you must do what he says You must be a doer of the word not a hearer only otherwise you are only fooling yourselves for if you listen to the word and don't obey it's like glancing at your face in the mirror you see yourself and walk away and forget how or what you look like you have listen as at the time you are listening oh you are shouting some are screaming amen that's what is for me if you don't do it says you just walk out and soon you forget the only way for the word of the Lord to make meaning is the one we do he said but if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free and if you do what he says and don't forget what you heard then God will bless you for doing it and that blessings of the Lord is the blessing of sustainance God will bless you lift you up keep you up and keep keeping you up until Jesus returns in the mighty name of Jesus Romans 12:2 says don't copy the behavior and the customs of the word don't copy copy the scripture use a model in the scripture to copy and model your life don't don't be don't be like the Jones don't leave by the crowd this is how they do it live by the word of God live by the standard of God praise the Lord he said but be but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think there was a way we used to think before we became children of God there is a new way the ways of God your thoughts of God what dominates your heart will be different for what used to dominate your heart before you say now I am a child of God and God by his Mercy took you up you want to remain up there your thoughts must be those of the Lord that will be only permissible in that place if your thoughts are thoughts of the days of evil in no time that person will go down we shall not go down in the name of Jesus it's God's desire to sustain stain each and every one of us upward and keep making us to shine from that place and keep shining until we meet with our Lord Jesus Christ the only way our mind will have to be renewed in that upper position there is a mindset for it in that upper position there are standards for it in that upper position there are principles that will keep you there and higher than the ones that took you there may we embrace it in the name of Jesus he said then when you do that then you will learn to know God's will which is good and pleasing and perfect as you begin to change your mind I want to get married my thoughts I used to be single it will change I want a new career my thought will have to change I want to I I want to be a father a mother my thought will have to change whatever you are Desiring are you single you want a man or a woman thoughts will change anybody that sees you you are ready praise the Lord not doubt whether you are ready for your spouse God himself will not doubt CU he will see you and and you are pray and maybe you are not praying even your lifestyle does not show that but God wants to bless somebody else but God will not punish somebody else by giving another person to him who is not who mind is outside of what God wants I hope you understand what I'm saying Mr a wants to get married and Mr A's mind is totally in tune with God and Mr Miss or miss a is single but our thoughts is not in line with the thought of God and God wants to bless Mr a how do you think God will allow M Mr a to marry Miss B or miss a because they are not in alignment if God does that that means God wants to punish Mr a but our God is not an unjust God so we must be prepared our mind must be renewed to go up and to stay up and finally brethren we must upgrade and broaden our knowledge upgrade and broaden your knowledge anybody must go up must broaden your knowledge expand your knowledge fellowship with people who will add to your knowledge about the things of God fellowship with people who will add your knowledge about skills Fellowship that add your knowledge about to be a good couple fellowship with people that will add value to your life and not people who you will associate with they will leave you worse than you have ever been that is how knowledge comes the Bible tells us that iron sharpens iron so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend if you if you say you are my friend you must add bring value to me if really love me to be your friend you must give me Good Counsel you must not give me counsels that will bring me down you you must not tell me that it's not good to be married so let's go you must not tell me that we are going for guys guys night and let's go to a nightclub let's go out and get drunk because guys do it then you want to bring me down you must not tell me not to be diligent with my work or my business then you want to bring me down the same thing applies to any woman here if you have a friend that cannot add value to your life you have no business with that person even if that person is your biological relation you have no business with that person you can relate you can communicate but that you your counsel must not be based on the counsels from people like that anybody that cannot add value I mean spiritual value I mean things that will Elevate you and keep you where God wants you to be you have no business with that relationship and may the Lord help us in the name of Jesus I say may the Lord help us in the name of Jesus so in conclusion God wants to keep you up he wants to keep me up so how do we that number one for us to remain upward we must on the screen adapt to this new environment do everything you can to adapt to this new environment adapt to this Christian lifestyle is so beneficial Brethren everything you are or you ever desire to be and to have is available here in your relationship with God you must adapt you must do a way and strive to conquer your your past your past is always dragging always trying to pull you down conquer it praise the Lord number three seek to understand God's perspective of who you are know that you are no longer who you used to be but what God says you are and only what God says you are that is what you shall become in the name of Jesus and you must acknowledge your weaknesses father I cannot do this by myself I need help the help that I need is only going to come from God and not from man and so whoever that depends on God that help will be available onto him May that help be available onto in the name of Jesus then when you are there in that place because God kept you there you must live by the word live the word of God experientially you cannot just quote scriptures A to Z but you don't you must leave it leave it in the open leave it in your closet praise the Lord in the open and in the closet and also you must broaden your knowledge upgrade yourself you see every software you see you see 2.0 3.0 why because upgrade if you don't upgrade you become out of date and when you are out of date that that person loses relevance in no time that that person will fall from that top that will not be your portion in the name of Jesus so we are going to pray everyone here the only Power that can sustain you in that position is the power from on high it's not anything that you can do by your own self so I want you to call upon the name of the Lord the power that can take up and keep upward as that power to come upon you and that power comes only upon those who have relationship with the almighty God so you are here you don't have relationship God that power is not meant it's meant for all but that power can only be released for to those who Embrace that power I cannot embrace it if you have not given your life to our Lord Jesus Christ you are here you don't have relation with Jesus I like you to come forward stand up put the enemy to shame and there is none and I pray I believe and pray that everyone here is a born again until the rest of us begin to call upon the name of the Lord for the Lord to you up if you are not there where you are desire father take me up father take me up and keep me up father help me to adapt to a life in you help me to do a away with the life of my yesterday help me to conquer old self and to embrace more so a all A's for high schoolers they received $100 A's and for high high schoolers they received um $80 praise the Lord and then for our middle schoolers we have um all a for our middle schoolers they received $60 if I'm not mistaken and then um $40 for A and B's and then our elementary students all A's $40 A's and B's $20 praise the lord we did great we want to do more we want to do much much more so we'll talk about that a little bit later during announcements but at this time we want to C those that are receiving this year's scholarship so our scholarship is intended for all of our high school seniors there were some things they had to do they had to apply for the scholarship they had to have a certain GPA they had to also submit a recommendation letter so there were steps there were things that they had to do they had to write an essay for the scholarship as well so we have this year we have five scholarship recipients who will be receiving can you pass me board $500 each praise the Lord can we make some noise for our scholarship recipients that will be receiving $500 each so we'll call your name once your name is called please stay up so that um we can get a picture and we going to Duke University praise the Lord she has plans she has plans on studying Neuroscience Neuroscience other notable um universities that she was admitted to was emry Georgia Tech ug University of Virginia she had the Pickins she could select as many as she wanted praise the Lord and then we have nefi our beautiful nefi she's graduating with a 3.7 are going to GSU nefi has received the Hope Scholarship she's going to be studying psychology that is her plans all right we have fa fa has graduated with a 3.6 GPA she'll be going to she'll be going to the University of West Georgia she also received the Hope Scholarship and she'll be studying psychology we have joy my joy my joy my joy my joy joy joy I forgot your GPA 3.5 right 3.8 sorry sorry 3.8 GPA she'll be going to Georgia State as well and then she'll also has plans on studying nursing let's give it up for Joy resi our beautiful resi resi has graduated with a 3.8 she will also be going to Georgia State University resi has plans and aspirations to study theater this is our actor resi is going to be a star in the name of Jesus we're going to see her on the big screen in the name of Jesus praise the Lord I believe that all of ours where okay I believe that is all of our recipients all right so at this time I wanted to do something a little bit different this year I wanted to give some of our students an opportunity to say a word to the congregation just a word of appreciation a lot of them many of them a testimony for this season that they are in and graduating so I wanted to give them an opportunity just to share a little bit of that so if you could just indulge us just a little bit and in addition to that too I have requested for they make copies of their cash app QR codes so if you feel inclined in your heart to give them a little bit more to celebrate them just a little bit more a lot of them are going to be going off to college they're going to be staying on campus of of course needing items bedroom items for their Co for their dorm rooms and things of that nature so all their cash app links will be um in the lobby area you can just screenshot it take you know they're Advanced so you just screenshot the QR code and take a and you can go exactly there and give whatever amount you want to give if each and every one of us gave them a dollar that would be added to what they've already praise the Lord for the last four years I was in and out of classes juggling homework and extracurriculars and every year something was different I had different classes with different people and different teachers with different schoolwork but for those four years with all its differences one thing stayed the same and that was God he showed me that no matter what grade I was in or what test I was studying for he would be there but he also showed me that this church would be here for me too in the last s years since church has been active I was here too they seen me get acne grow taller have short hair and among many other things this church has become a part of my family and I could not ask for better I want to thank every single person here for being here for me for the last four years of high school because without God and this church I don't know where I would be so thank you God my family my church family for being a constant in my life in a world full of differences who else good afternoon church I can't say any better than she has but at a words this church has been a pillar to my life I have made LifeLock friends I have graduated from high school here Middle School here and now I'm graduating from high school I most especially thankful to God and my family my sister and my mom I wouldn't have done this without you and to Pastor Mrs and Pastor for your good wishes and your prayers to Aunt in Kim and Aunt seya for unconditional motherly love and Uncle Steve and his wife and sister Christal for taking their time out to teach us more about the Bible as you have all for me I pray that the Lord will never leave your side [Music] amen hello church I'm uel whether you recognize me from the select Wednesday Bible studies I've attended or from standing or sitting amongst the church as you guys are doing right now or from one of my other family members such as my mom who has her phone out right now or whether it's Johnston who's up in the studio up there or if it's my sister or if it's my other brother great James today uh as resi and joy acknowledged before me God has brought us here together this afternoon to celebrate before this month's end the theme going upwards to many going upwards looks different I know to me going upwards and involved me using my school laptop and having nights where I would be spending time studying or if it was me just reading or hanging out with my friends to everyone especially in a school environment going upwards can mean very different things however I've been able to spend this time throughout middle school and during my high school years attending this church and I'm so glad that I have because from here even during the times when I'm downstairs or whether I'm upstairs I'm still able to embrace God's presence and even if I may not be the biggest dancer or the biggest person that's worshiping and yelling my lungs out I'm still here today and I'm glad that graduated and glad that the rest of the class of 2024 has graduated thank you so [Applause] much praise the Lord hallelujah amen the Lord has done so well they are going forth they will remain upward let's rest our hands and bless them Father in the mighty name of Jesus thank you for giving them the spirit of Excellence you started with them you continue with them you finish well with them Father we thank you they are going forth father go ahead of them sustain them they have marked they have they have made a difference here everywhere they go they will make a difference in the name of Jesus in colleges there shall be three Blazers in the mighty name of Jesus everyone who has received an award today is a mark of an upward movement none of them shall go down in the mighty name of Jesus every eyes of the enemy that may be set against them for you shall blindfold in the mighty name of Jesus encourage them Father every test that they will be taken they shall be found to be more than 10 times better than their appears in the name of Jesus for in Jesus name we have prayed praise the Lord congratulations to every one of you and to those who are sitting there to the teachers so much more congratulations to you you have dished out God will replenish in the name of Jesus God will teach your own in the mighty name of Jesus for in Jesus name we have prayed just one more give us a few more minutes and we are rounding off quickly praise the Lord so praise the Lord I hope you're excited make sure you celebrate our students um after church even give them a hug give them a handshake your support goes a long way we thank God for you so I wanted to just give just a quick um short look at what this scholarship season look looks like much similar to the scholarship season before this is our fifth year doing this award scholarship so just wanted to give just a glimpse of what it looked like so this year we had seven High School grads we had 35 um students that went to the next level meaning kindergarten graduates those that went to Elementary to middle middle to high and then of course our graduates we had 50 honors recipients those A's and B's honors recipient 50 and just in case my head is in the way that grand total in the very bottom the grand total cost of $ 5,294 that included all of the honors the monetary gifting Honors that we that we bestowed upon them also the gift bags the items that are in the gift bags as well all of that is included and in addition to the $500 scholarship per um recipient which we had five recipients this school year so I bet you're Wonder in where do I fit in well if you're not I'll tell you where you can fit in with that and our next slide it just shows the percentage of what our where our tith and offering comes from that goes towards this Mission this ministry as it relates to our scholarships and Awards just the children's department overall so of course 80% is family donations so that is typically a family that has donated towards this so next year as we're planning for for it to continue already have it in your heart that you would be part of this through our tithe and offering 5% was just other just small giftings that we received here and there I have some people that would say here put this towards the um Awards C Awards that's coming up buy decorations with this you know little little stuff like that so we want to give you opportunities to truly be a part of it so not this Sunday but we'll be starting on a quarterly basis to just take uh donation and um take offering towards this children's ministry Endeavor we want to continue it again this is 5 years so we want it to grow bigger and bigger and we want the whole church to be a part of this movement praise the Lord we thank you in advance for all of your support we have so much more I know children we're expensive sorry we even have VBS coming up so these are the things that will be of course um yearning for you guys to be a part of and just to support we thank you for the support that you've already given and those that will be given in um to come thank the Lord praise the Lord You're all welcome once more all right so really quick at this time now that we got that out are lot more that are not visible that we do as a church to the needy around us so if you don't pay your tith and offering please I encourage you to do so apart from the fact that when you don't do when you don't do that is a Disobedience to the Commandments of the lord we don't preach it here the lot but it is very important and apart from that we also use it to run the church is all of us are sitting here is schol the HVAC here in this centuary is over $3,000 every month the instruments we always buying sometimes 20,000 15,000 instruments we always changing things 2,000 3,000 we don't announce it in some Churches they announce to change battery of the microphone but we don't do so that does not mean we don't need the assistance but we expect everybody to be mature so check yourselves and check if what you're doing is right before God and before humanity and if you are not doing so please do so and as you do so the blessings of the Lord shall be upon you in the mighty name of Jesus and we'll be taking offerings for this special event like quarterly but we can't do so today so that our our plan is that a time we come where we can just take these children and pay scholarship as long as they maintain a certain grade through our College give them this amount all through to encourage them and let them know that we have made an impact in their lives our desire is to make impact in the lives of people if we live we don't make an impact then we have not fulfilled the purpose of our coming together may the Lord help us in the name of Jesus once again on Wednesday
