is there a coin shortage in brow star and no more permanent features you'll find out the answer during this episode so keep watching hello everyone welcome to time to explain uh we've been long time without a podcast and I think it was worthy enough that I will bring those special guests today uh welcome Teddy um maybe you can uh introduce yourself to the community yeah well some of you guys might know me already from the broad Championship I've been casting over there for a few years now and yeah I'm thrilled to be here thank you for having me cool and how about you ready what's up y'all I'm Ready Set you probably also know me from the brawl Stars championship and I stream on Twitch at twitch.tv/ ret we are uh joined also by Adrian game designer yeah uh yeah you have me to blame for all the balance changes and all the op Brawlers you put the Target on you man yeah I do I'm getting I'm taking the heat from everyone else you know yeah and then Frank hi I'm Frank best intro ever it's like we for this episode we have a lot of questions we don't have a certain topic just because like it was being so long we had uh an episode before uh but just some tips for you guys like increase the speed of this video like by 1.5 that's a life hacks for you and then if you don't speak English then trigger the subtitles and I hope you had you could understand at least that sentence um so then let's jump straight into questions there's a lot of questions here to to be answers spicy ones casual ones but I divided them by social media so we have Twitter first and then let's go first question from Spen uh he has actually four questions will will there be Improvement to the top percentage of ranked Masters as far any pro semi pro pro level of Gamers of games is the standard of gold in power League so basically improvements to ranked um maybe Frank do you want to take this one interesting uh yeah in general we of course to take a step back right we we had this moment where we transitioned from the previous for power League to rank earlier this this year and the the main purpose of it was to to transition to a world where just more people are playing ranked and we said ourself a goal for this like to to actually measure how many people are playing and that goal was more than achieved so instead of just like a number of below 5% of our daily active players playing ranked which is like you know five people out of a room with 100 people which is not great now there's you know a significant amount of people playing double digits which is great um and so we want to sustain that the that's kind of important piece like creating features for just 5% of the community is kind of wasteful and locking content behind that is also wasteful so we we will probably not go back to a world where we have a very exclusive thing going on however we do think that rank could be better um we we would like rank to be very competitive on the high end and yeah we're looking into options what we can do with that we don't have anything yet to talk about but it's something we're actively thinking about right now I think when it comes to ranked like the the issue with the top level gameplay is that you have people that are um able to more easily achieve that high level where they're able to get to Masters and so while it is now way more accessible for people to achieve Masters it really affects the matchmaking at that top level so if you are if you do want to be a top player and you get to that top level once you've reached m those are the only people you're going to match with so if you say hey I want to push you know as high of Elo as I can doesn't matter if you're like 30,000 ELO you're still going to be facing those 9,000 ELO players and the matchmaking doesn't get any more competitive yeah I think that's a that's just a matter of fact of life you know when you're on top of the pyramid there's just not more people so so it's really like that's that so yeah again once you're on top of the pyramid you're on top of of the pyramid there's nothing you can really do about that so either you go to extreme length for the matchmaking times or well I don't know what the alternative have a bigger pool of players but um but there's only so much to do about that the maybe to spend second question which is more about the distribution of the ELO ranks that is a very natural distribution of how numbers just are distributed that's not changing significantly season over season you have of course a of people on bronze one and then it's falling down quickly and then there's some logical steps right when you when you cross from gold into Diamond there's of course a falloff because of how we structured the whole system because you know more people have 12 Brawlers at max power level yeah so he his question like uh for people listening uh he he asked to have some graphs and we have prepare like the distribution graphs of yeah this one it's like this is like uh is the last season of power league and then the last season of ranked like you can see like the the blue one Spar league and then you can see how like a lot of the people are like in bronze and uh Bron 2 and bronze 3 meaning they were not playing but also like the legendary like you can see like the the blue one is almost invisible as in Masters uh but you can see that in although there are a lot of people there it's not like a huge amount of people like it still is a very tiny percentage and still uh like uh we are aware of the problem still like I I know that the pro players they want to feel that the Masters should feel competitive like that every match should be sweaty um and I think considering like this the this graph you can see that we don't need to tweak anything in below Masters right or it could be like maybe that we only change something in Masters and that could solve the problem already and then it just like they speedrun to Masters and then that's where rank starts for then could be one solution but uh we are aware of the problem and is something that we want to tackle eventually I think there's just a practical reality really that at some point you know even in that sub one% that is in Masters there's still skill differences mhm and and at some point there's just again you have this comprom between matchmaking times and match length do you want to wait 30 minutes to get a 90c match and that is uh that there will always be the compromise and I understand that people seek more competitive games but then that's probably not ranked that's probably OTS so that then then maybe you have to look outside of the game to find competitions like on matcherino for for example Etc so that we have solutions for that it's just that they're not necessarily inside the game game yeah and then his following question is I know it's important to look at the majority at the player base but the hardcore player are feeling really left out are there any plans to improve the late game for us the one the 0.1% ladder rewards ranker rewards Etc I think I can quickly touch on the trophy system yeah maybe it's like so the trophy system today it's all right right it works it's it's one of these things that we had in the game since forever it's a of brawl and it's not going to go anywhere as a system however today there's I think two desires which are competing with each other there's on one side the average player which is a line chare of our players those guys want to push trophies and right now they're getting still stuck relatively early in the system because then things get really really sweaty and on the other side you have endgame players who want to push High trophies that want to compete with each other on that high level at the same time matchmaking is incredible slow you know you see that when you go to Twitch and you try to to find some people who like wait 10 minutes play one match wait 10 minutes play one match which is super unsatisfying makes it also unattractive to actually stream on Twitch when you push trophies so the question is can we find a system that is solving both make it more attractive for people to push trophies give more people the chance to push trophies and at the same time have something competitive at the end where people can compete for a rank or high score or something like that and it's something we're actively working on right now and his last question The Limited limited events have been crazy popular but the biggest draw back has to be that there hasn't been many permanent features which is like one of the trending topics right now after we announced the SpongeBob collaboration and SpongeBob is off to a fantastic start by the way um so it's like it's it's it's it's really incredible all these I mean we are obviously super excited about the temporary events right SpongeBob now but before uh Godzilla was like was crazy good for the game um the the classic brawl event was also great for the game getting us through summer in a better way than than ever before so so those temporary events are very important but I think the learning from the last half year or so as a team is that we maybe over indexed a little bit on the tempor content because like we we do feel that there's issues in the game and that there's systems in the game we want to make better so so we are yeah we we acknowledge that and we feel the same in the team it's like hey there's bigger things we would like to change but we have all this temporary content so so we need to find a better balance so I guess what I'm saying is that for the looking over the next year or so and we're going to talk more about that in a separate video but over the next year or so we're going to find a better balance for this between temporary additions to the game which are really hype and which really help the game in the bigger scheme of things and making permanent improvements and uh hopefully some of those things will already start showing with the next update um yeah that's that I'm curious to hear how you quantify uh those like the Godzilla and the classic brawl event as being like better for the game like what are the metrics that you look at oh for us it's it's like we largely look at engagement metrics so engagement metrics are you know how easy is it for new players to find the game because there's so much bus out there um are old players coming back to the game so re-engagement so super easy to measure metrics for us and both of these numbers then they automatically become those two numbers and the retention of existing players those that becomes our daily active players our monthly active players we actually have the graph here um just a a note tip from ready I will remove the numbers and don't question about the numbers just because we don't want to share with competitors but we want to show the trends the trends are real still uh here like uh December 22 is when we remove boxes and then here we're actually we're in a good State like the game was quite big uh for for mobile games and like in the industry in general uh but then you can see like when you uh started doing like community events and um like you can see that the Baseline increases right it's not only the peak but when the the event dies or like the the novelty where wors off the people stays in the game so like it's really important to have like those big news worthy thing that like it catches the attention of someone who is not a braw player or like someone who stops playing braw for a while they see like oh there's like johon Cena there what is happening and then like they they go they come back to the game and then they stay so I think it's really important like to bring more um to bring awareness that this game exist and then is Big so it's it's really important for us and you can see uh again uh after we remove boxes we added uh Mastery and we added blink and our Trend was just going down right even though those are like quality of life improvements or like systems that are better for every player in general it doesn't bring as much novelty or awareness as we would like to this is one of the things I was thinking about earlier uh because I see as well on social media a lot of people complaining about like no long-term like you know content being added and it's a lot of temporary stuff but then a lot of the long-term content didn't do as well before like you know many of those like big changes to to Quality of Life uh and even when I think about like game modes that aren't tied to like an event very often they they're doing fine for a few days but then people kind of you know payload volley bro like they don't really stay popular for long uh whereas for the game modes I feel like it's worked much better for the events as well and I feel like we really see the results too yeah yeah I think people like some something we also as as a team feel pretty strongly about it's like it's sometimes hard like people like Adrian Dan and myself we are pretty hardcore Gamers right we we like to compete you know but hardcore don't sell yourself short Denny don't sell yourself short so so best Piper like so so we really competitive players we also play competitive games outside of brawl right we're always trying out the latest competitive games we're always like we're into Esports so but the the majority of our players are not and that's just like something we have to acknowledge and there's sometimes this misconception that yeah but these hardcore people they pay the bills no yes of course they're important players for us yes they're more likely to be payers as well to keep us float but the lion chair of everything comes from this big group in the middle so so if you cannot keep the Lion Share entertain nothing else works here you know we have to we have to reduce the team size we're not getting the support from the company we cannot invest as much in marketing we cannot invest as much into Esports so it's like a whole like we need to make this the most sustainable business ever and for that to achieve we need to entertain the masses right that everyone will tell you the same you you need to reach a mass audience and guess what what they like chaos chaos is really fun so so you know like when when we did the Godzilla event the first time with the mutations it was broken yeah I'm going to say some of them went a bit overboard but I think the fundamental idea was still good yes yeah it was it was like and I would actually argue now SpongeBob is already a few steps ahead of that from these learnings right there's there's likely not going to be one or two Brawlers right now in this event that's just stick out in the game modes the the the 3v3 V3 V3 Showdown Showdown you know you you you will likely have a much more diverse meta there what whatever the abilities of the characters are whatever you know and all the characters are now equally involved and so on and so forth so it's you know we're trying to learn and make things better but yes chaos is really fun also for us you know it's really fun to Lo and and have a different experience for change so we we don't want this to go anywhere we at the same time you know we want people to play ranked or who don't want that chaos they still have a way to play the game and that's fine but but you know there shouldn't be an expectation that we only focus on this normal play experience but as we already said we also we want to make permanent improvements yeah and I just want to touch really quick because we we said chaos but you also mentioned it I think it's not only about chaos it's about actually feeling that the game you're playing with the characters that you love is different like they behave a little bit differently but it's still familiar I think that's a really enticing kind of proposition for a lot of players where oh okay I really love Edgar but now my Edgar is behaving a little bit in a cooler way or differently or I feel stronger like that's a cool moment even if only temporary so I think that's how what we have to keep in mind chaos is great but also familiarity is important in that chaos if that makes sense yeah I think those SpongeBob powerups have been a you know nice nonin way also um pretty rewarding considering that you don't have so many things to collect now with the Godzilla event there were so many different mutations and now you can get one ability and you can use it on multiple Brawlers and it's just kind of like a little bonus you know it doesn't really fundamentally change how they work you know remember Meg shooting out like a billion shots or or Colonel Ruffs with his shot bouncing everywhere I mean you're not even using him the same but now it's like more of an accent right helps the brawler do what they do better in not a fundamentally different way exactly yeah there's also a cool side effect because when we do events like that and we we try out new mechanics right sometimes they lead to permanent improvements like the the mech the mech example is like it started with the mutation but then we like hey it's actually really fun to play Mech like that way better like and and guess guess what so we introduced it to a main kit and we slightly changed the main kit because it's just more fun yeah and right now I think me is doing really well yeah like she's of course it's tied to the power level as well like yes she's stronger but it's also she feels more fun to play and therefore the popularity increases by a lot cuz she was one of our most unpopular Brawlers before the change and even before the previous change as well um but now she's actually more higher SL middle of the pack so just where we want her to be and yeah I mean Meg's a great example Rico um inspired the hyper charge of course um in a ton down version because we didn't want the cross map bounces killing everyone so yeah and then I guess answering also to R's question like how the the metrics or like what we look at to measure success like you can see like in April here like that was the the 100 star drops uh event and then you can see how much it increased the Baseline right but also like uh they like it create like a interesting phenomenon that we start bursting the bubble of the of brw Star right so like with a community event where like we didn't spend like a lot of marketing on this thing it was like done internally by this beautiful thing out here uh but but like um Brands like NBA or like Juventus like they would start talking about the event right so like they pick up things that are happening the pop culture and then we became pop culture because people are shouting about this so much that it becomes like a organic marketing uh and then there's a funny story here like one one parent of supercell they got a a call from school saying like no the kids are not paying attention to the class because they were all opening the start drops it's like you can see the effect of this one thing how much is spreading organically right so I think it's um the we do that because the results are amazing and it has been growing the game basically with that and then of course like underneath we will try now to add like those permanent features like the quality of life because then we we think it's important and they still help our metrics it's basically for the longevity right like it's the long longevity of the game like yes we could make in temporary things and yes we have these spikes but eventually like you know there is a burnout Factor there as well if the game fundamentally doesn't improve then that's not going to be exciting in the long run either so I think we yeah we have importance of both I want to say one more thing about like collaborations Etc as well as something more from the marketing and the business side when you when you're trying to find new players for a game where do you look you know like and and for us one one of the approaches on the marketing side is to find so what is our brand what how do how do people feel about our brand and what are other brands they like the type of people who enjoy brawl and then it's like oh SpongeBob they like SpongeBob and then SpongeBob has a different audience so they have millions and millions of players players Watchers viewers possible who possible players who never played brawl who don't even know about brawl but they know about SpongeBob you know that that gives us a a tool to reach people and audiences who never heard about braw in the past and you can actually see that with our brawl talk now or even the videos afterwards the brawl talk normally is trending and gaming around the world when you look at YouTube you know you see the trending positions but uh this time it trended in general so so we we hit like the top 10 top 10 trending across the globe and and that is like so cool including like Japan where it's really really hard as a non Japanese video to hit into the top 10 so it's like these these brand collaborations just help us to reach more people just to create awareness about brawl like how is that process typically like is it like you guys reaching out to in this case like Nickelodeon or or Godzilla or is it like them reaching out like how does that work it can go both ways so we have some we have a business development team so that job is to find Partnerships for us and and sometimes these Partnerships are inbound so someone reaches out saying hey I'd really like to work with you guys and sometimes it's the other way around so it's like but for example now that we do this a bit more regularly we are looking already at 2025 because these collaborations are not fast most of them take a year plus to to come to life so it's it's not a hey we have an idea and next month we're going to work with these guys no it's it's really like a year it can be multiple years you know to to some other brands we're talking for for years and years and years already and nothing has materialized so it's uh yeah yeah and I think like also like we we put out a good event there for SpongeBob then the other brands will see and like I want to do the same with this brand right like that's why it's very important to make a big deal out of these things and I think it even happened like another brand that you're discussing I think they're more they can see what we can do right so that they're more open to new ideas and new events and everything so that was one question good job guys Yes we made it no now we go like a speedrun maybe okay let's speedrun five hours later yeah huge amount of petties Arc your compatriot uh can't help but to ask a spicy one you said uh in a past podcast that's the game performing well that the game performing well is essenti for doing things like brow Sports now that the game is financially performing the best it ever has can we expect to see more budget rolling into brow Sports 2025 praise [Laughter] emote well there there's the the short answer is yes wait the the worst timing ever it worked it's good for me and Teddy that means more work for us the the Longs is a bit more complicated it's um so so the way like the way budgeting works is not that Nimble so so when last year was was pretty much the worst year we ever had in Broar so financially speaking it was like our yeah our West year and so the fact that we had braw Esports this year even though it was maybe not as big as it was in the previous years is is I think a testament to our our ambition to keep Esports going even when we have a year that's not so great this year we have a pretty good year and that will show in one way or another next year and so next year will be better than this year without going too much into detail yeah so pretty much like we we plan one year ahead in so like it's it's we it's not that like the game is performing well and then like let's invest more money here for no reason like we have to think about how we going to apply this or like uh um how we are get taking the profit like how we calculate the budget like what we want to do as a whole and if it makes sense so like it takes time to actually apply the the uh the performance of the game into our marketing activities I think we will we're a bit faster to apply for the product for example we are doing more animations and then just because like hey we have this opportunity let's like uh take the momentum right that's the right time to like just go but Esports needs a bit more time to restructure and everything so that's why it doesn't uh appear immediately yeah different parts of our business have a different you know flexibility built in yeah when you think about like ads you know just going out there have more ads show more ads to people about process that's something done very easily because it's almost like a dial you dial up you spend more money you reach more people uh Esports is normally something that has been agreed on there has been a plan there's events planned there's a schedule there's a you know tons of structures in place which which is pretty much making it a fixed cost and something that's locked in for a year and yes you can do things on the side here and there to to make things better but at the end of the day it's pretty much locked in or the year before and and for example right now we're discussing and we we have a preliminary plan for next year and it's uh September feel like the contrast like for 2024 has been particularly extreme where like everything was decided in 2023 which was like the worst year for brawlstar and now it's the best year so it feels like particularly out of touch and I think that's also why a lot of people are like kind of upset about it including myself but we do also understand that like you know it's a year yearly planning so at some point especially like months into it uh actually nearing the end of the competitive year now like it's probably the moment where it's the most like yeah out of touch with with with the current state of the game yeah yeah that's we agree yeah super Fair yeah I think just by and large people lack that perspective that in business things take time because they don't have the exposure to that side of things I mean and you can know right unless someone tells you like we do now time to explain how would you know so that's that's the point of this yeah all right uh next question from Power couple gaming it's time to explain why it took so long to have an episode of time to explain why don't well we didn't have time to explain there was no time yeah I guess like uh we are producing a lot more and our team and our team is growing but doesn't grow as fast as it can right because hiring people takes time needs to be a right feet it need to be um like once the person actually joins you need to be on boarded to understand everything and then it I don't know like I would say even like six to nine months is when like the person actually becomes uh productive for us or something like that yeah but uh yeah we didn't have the time and then it was always in the back of my mind and then actually ready he said like hey I'm in Europe what about uh time to explain thanks ready and then I said pleasure is all mine ready how long can you stay in Europe oh that was that was an interesting one because initially we thought cuz I traveled here for lcq we thought oh well you know I'll just hit Helsinki right after lcq and then things had to be pushed back and so like okay ready can you find anything to do in Europe another week yeah yeah so so I just got to hang out with some of my coasters Teddy tagged along for some of it it's it's been a fun Journey no ready Leed on the streets for this rough times thank you thank you for his some nice Bridges and housing that is true that is true um anik kilo in the next bro talk we will explain the pet of bro stars or is it no longer in the plans like so he meant the road map we have a plan it won't be in Brawl talk we will have a separate uh format for this this time around but we're already working on it so yes yes we will talk about the road map we we of course like we have estimative date we want to release that but we we can't promise anything but we want to be before or the next Pro talk that's right yeah uh from Trev tari BS uh I would be very interesting knowing uh some of your plans regarding competitive bra this year any plans to increase price money competition competition uh again uh not saying I'm disappointed with this season but only one tournament all year doesn't satisfy my PR fars hunger um King had an answer here I'll just read King is our sport guy by the way uh the total price pool this year up to 2 million will be the highest total price pool for brawl star Esports and we are really excited about that we're hoping to build out several initiatives to better support third party events in the future but you still early stages of this but I think you can like link to the answer that Frank gave before that it takes time to plan and like uh it's based on the results of the previous year of the game and even though this year is like uh as king is saying is the highest price pool we ever had is that what is yeah it is it's bigger and better that's bigger and better and I think maybe the the issue is that maybe it's because how it's like divided across the events or maybe people are not seeing the value but it is bigger than before so um yeah we always like have Esports in our hearts I think that like it particularly feels a bit empty in Esports because like there's no third party event like much less they're they're kind of coming back so you know keep an eye out but it does feel a bit more empty than like previous years and I don't think there's necessarily like less BC it's just there's less Esports in general yeah yeah I think also like if we compare this year to 2021 for example we used to have monthly finals on two separate weekends so half the month there was something going on over the weekend um we've also seen like the the mainland China region not be on like our main series of broadcasts anymore as that has kind of shifted to be its own thing and also the number of months has been truncated we're working with the F Monon season uh this year so it seems well I mean it's quite literally the fact that the actual competitive season has been shrinking yes we have an extra month for the bonus season for the September spectacular or however you pronounce it with the fives in the name but the actual competitive season has shrunk that is a fact yeah yeah absolutely I think we already talked about that to a degree yeah I think there's also one other element and that's something something not mentioned here but it's like often third party events are also the initiative by Third parties so so and if you know if third parties can just approach us and Pitch us something and more often than not we are supporting them so it's like yeah it's it's a mix it's I think some of the organizations and organizers which did events in previous years they opted not to do them this year um and that's that so we we we're inviting organizations and tournament organizers out there to do more and as Kim pointed out already like we have we have plans to be also more structured about supporting that in 2025 and Beyond yep cool next question from code pen pandac I already adverti this code anyway anyway uh BR Stars has had unprecedent growth due to the inclusion of stard drops hyper charges and the collaboration events in the last two years uh the key to uh to the success has been continuous innovating and providing us with exciting content the focus lately seems to be collaboration and events that focus on unlocking time limit cosmetics and abilities which means that there's a lot of development being done for something tempor temporary and not something that can be enjoy long term uh how confident is the team that the current cycle of content will continue receive a positive reception and the second part of the question is when the team finds a formula that work how do you continue to innovate so as so it doesn't stagnate yeah I think this is a good question I think we touched on this a little bit already um but I think the long story short there is yes we realized there is a disconnect between um how many temporary things we're doing versus Evergreen um but then also I think I want to talk a little bit more about the second part which is when a team a formula does work how do you continue to innovate as not to stagnate and I think this is the real interesting part because um it's very common I think in any creative field that when you find something that does work you kind of stick with it you don't want to rock the boat um but we look at it like that's actually the worst thing to do like we need to keep taking risks and we need to keep surprising players making them you know have fun with the game being surprised like in general because otherwise we're going to stagnate as well like this formula I I don't think we believe there is a winning formula per se it's just about innovating on what we already know what works and how is that even cooler if that makes sense yeah and I think like the concepts we get so for example 100 start drops was probably the best community event we ever had why didn't we do the 200 star drops or like the 100 1001 star drops like the next one we did was the thumbs up for braw I think which was trying something new but still the same skeleton of the event right and that one didn't perform so well we believe it's because like either people don't want to be positive or like it's too much trouble to equip that and keep using the Ping or remembering you have to do that to participate where the others is just like either collect start drops or just take down Brawlers like we always try to innovate a bit so it feels fresher even though like maybe the concept or the core is the same yeah I think also with the temp like I guess a part of this question is also temporary events right so it's like that we already answered but even with the temporary events like we're trying to learn from every single event you know Godzilla was the first time we did this major major thing and and when it comes to actually the the workload that takes in the team is something we discussed for a long time it's like should we really make such a heavy investment uh of people into something that goes away forever and and so we we we contemplated a lot but then the the positive impact it had was undeniable and quickly Chang changed our mind that hey it's you it's it's totally worth it yeah um and today the the team is staffed up we have we are more people than ever so we now have actually the the team that can work on temporary events and make permanent improvements to the game so it's not a this or that anymore it's we we're in a place now where we where we get to a place where we can do both so and then the rest is about yeah iteration iteration iteration make things better like when we released Godzilla and on day one for most people there was nothing like you didn't get a free mutation or anything so it was like damn now we we should have thought about this wouldn't it be cooler to come into the game and there's something waiting for you so can immediately you have a new toy something to play with and now with SpongeBob on day one immediately there was something for free for everyone so so I think that's it's it's super important to iterate to make things better and better and better and of course we're we're Guided by our own experiences but also by data yes and player reactions of course yeah yeah yeah for sure uh continue with panda uh this sport Championship season has probably been a forgettable one for audience due to a PL of production ading and finance related issues how would the pet forward how will the pet forward ensure that issues would be the exception and not the norm like it has been this year yeah so I think like uh especially we talked to King about this question and he said like he's like painfully aware of the problems like when something like that happens like no sound in the lcq like it's not like we're like ah we don't care let's keep going like we feel the pain and then we get like anxious like we need to solve that we know that there is a time pressure to do that but um uh I think like those things happen but like we know they shouldn't be the norm like they it shouldn't be like the the expectation and actually not specifically to eorts but like to SpongeBob we were already like a bit scared like there are so many new things happening here and we have been like in the maybe three past months uh having releasing something bronen on release right so we were like is is it going to be another one of those days but that only we only have like 10 or 20 minutes of server overload and then the event went smooth like we we hope we can also do the same with sports like next year or hopefully already the finals will be way better and like uh you uh everyone can expect the that the norm is a really good fun and high quality event yep I I think the the painful part with Esports is that the issues that we've seen you know the end of the year wasn't like a necessarily like a culmination it was pretty much the same because we've had kind of issues one of those of know if we look at how the game approaches this we see like consistent improvements but for some certain things in Esports um we see those issues pop up again and again and again and I think really the answer that people want to hear is that hey you know going forward we will win in the preparation yeah I think some of the issues are also like due to Esports in general rolled the last few years uh I mean just like brawl star is a bit of a recession in gaming and Esports uh which means there's been a lot of like acquiring other companies and I feel like the the brw Esports project has kind of like switched hands a lot which means new people that haven't experienced some of the issues that you know the previous team experienced so you make the same mistakes and you learn from them but I think that process has been very rocking it's like kind of nobody's fault because it's just a very very general thing where it's been very volatile like the amount of of new people getting involved in in projects in the last few years that's a good point I think you you've like going Beyond bra rate the industry has been a pretty turbulent place at large um a lot of companies actually stopped the Esports program completely revamp the Esports programs and um yeah as you said there were tons of Acquisitions and changes and all kind of stuff happening in the industry so it's it's it's difficult to have a consistent approach and then combine that with like hey we try to keep Esports um on on a float in Brawl while at the same time we have way less budget to work with mhm so it's a like there's tons of circumstances it's not it's not an excuse I I don't think anyone is more you know seeing Kim's face when when there was no no sound and that was a hardware issue for the record there was a hardware part that's never breaking normally broke and you couldn't just switch it so it's like stuff like that unfortunately happens it's it's not great but for what it's worth I think day two was much much much much much better at the lcq so and a lot of of the issues on day one were gone on day two of course there was also the whole B stream and and you know like it's it's like it's it's easier when you just have one one stream going on but it was also worth pointing out for example for the for the monthly finals um the the only solution for us to um have best of five was to have a b stream so it's like like sometimes you know you have a limited budget you need to compromise you have limited time at your hands so where are you compromising if you would have choosen best of three would have you know the competitive Community would they have been happier than being on B stream I don't know maybe but that's a judgment call we always have to make in these situations so it's not it's not like we're happy with that but but you you don't always get what you want even even us yeah so it's like I guess at the end of the day becomes like a compromise like and we try to always prioritize essentially the players and the fans right we want what is the best experience and how can we make that happen with the resources that we have what kind of shortcuts we have to draw or stuff like that to make that happen because if we don't want to do anything half you know asked basically like we either want to do it properly or not at all that's kind of how we look at it next question uh for Frank because you know this number oh as a percentage of the current active player base how many people started playing brawl star in the last one year yeah it's a it's a number above 50% right now 50% of the players are new 50% of players right now who are playing today on you okay but but I also want to put that in relative because that doesn't you know our our user number numbers in general are higher today than they were like the last years so we are also seeing unprecedented amounts of people coming back to the game so it's not like oh all the people are new and the old school people are gone no we we have the lowest amount of people of old school people leaving the game ever essentially we have the highest amount of people coming back to the game and we see a huge influx of new users so it's really like and for us that that's that speaks to the overall healthiness of the game even though you you know not everything is perfect but overall the game is healthy because else one of these three would not be true and which country has the most players for brawl Stars let's be a little bit vague about this there there's a there's a bunch of countries which have have a big audience I think one one of the biggest markets right now is turkey M uh in in Europe of course like Germany's the biggest um but the US has been growing like crazy we more than doubled our daily active players in the US this year or North America in general Mexico has been growing like crazy uh Japan has been growing like crazy we also more than doubled our player base in Japan so so Korea is still a big number of course Brazil is a big number so it's it's like what you would expect in a way so Brazil is Big North America is Big Europe generally still is the biggest place for brawl but also Japan and Korea have been big contributors for us yep Wiggly pool uh so he has a question for you guys uh as casers what do you hope the professional Brar scene will look like in five years to come uh is there an eorts moment where waiting to witness in braw and then he misses you guys we miss him too hi Wiggly well actually no one no one calls him Wiggly hefu um as far as what I so this is like hopes and dreams you know this is my perfect world right we we could really go above and beyond uh what is possible something I'd really like to see in braw Esports is the current audience continuing to stick around as they get older and they grow up with the game I think something um that kind of plagues brawl events right now is the struggle of going to those events and being there in person not having the resources not having the assets to actually make it there to begin with um I mean let's not kid ourselves about the uh audience that this game attracts right the age range and also like of brw e Sports I mean you you may think to yourself okay what what is the age range that um we're achieving here a lot of like teenagers people who can't really travel long distances on their own particularly in North America where I did some events in North America and there were very few people in the audience and that could be chocked up to many things but I think Logistics is a huge issue that said I would love to see the current audience stay with the game um I would also like to see as Broly Sports matures that maybe the the tone shifts to be a little more not like grownup but for a um more I don't know knowledgeable uh Analytical in the know sort of audience at the moment the shows are very lean they're very fast-paced it's just like this there's no downtime there's there are no moments to really break down any analysis it's just once we finish up one game they're getting right back into the next set for the next draft and we don't really have any like visuals to um go back like there's no telestrator for instance that's something I'd really love to see like be able to Circle things like he went on a professional sports cast mhm yeah th those are those are couple things that I would like to see I think another one is if we could somehow achieve more Mass Appeal like from a casual audience in Source brly sports fans from there because as it stands a lot of most of the braw orts fans are the most dedicated in engaged players and I think that there is absolutely Mass Appeal for brawl Esports I think the problem and the challenge is just involving those more casual players in the audience I'll uh I mean honestly this was like pretty much what I had in mind as well uh so it's going to be hard to like add up to that but uh I think that we already kind of established that like the budget and stuff gets decided like according to you know how much money the game is making and how healthy the game is and that's incredibly hard to predict in the future like especially in like five years uh the game is going to have downs and UPS like you know year year after year so it's very hard to like kind of see what the scene will look like cuz it depends on so many different factors but I I complet completely agree that like seeing the audience evolve and and like just like grow up with the game uh I I think that's what kind of makes the difference between uh bro star land and like another like mainstream Esports uh title land can I mention names Carter strike that was the one that I had in mind too I I live in Dallas I went to Dallas the audiences are just remarkable mhm it's it's completely different like you actually have like chance you know yeah you have groups of friends they will travel to the event like groups of like 5 10 20 people and they'll be there like all wearing jerseys all singing for the teams all shouting like it's actually a completely different energy and we have little glimpses of that at times um but the only way to do this is to have like yeah a bit more of a mature audience and also have those like hardcore fans that only really come after time right right now like people that are heavy Esports fans they're like uh early birds you know they're people that are kind of like early um I think that in 5 10 years there's going to be a lot of people that grew up watching braw that grew up with their their family playing playing braw um so I think that's going to be like very exciting to actually watch in orts yep actually the brawl audience is getting older mhm so it's you know moving averages is difficult especially if You' have tens of millions of people playing the game but we're slowly creeping up uh which is interesting it's uh yeah like I I think I tweeted about that or posted on LinkedIn or something about this but as there's there's as a developer right there's very little that's more energetic than going to an Esports event and having hundreds if not thousands of people in the crowd being totally crazy about the game that's being played um I I mean like I really really loved WIS last year you know it was it's most not a ginormous audience also was around thousand people but but you know that we went to PC gaming event dream hack and there was a Counter-Strike tournament there there was way smaller and way less energetic that braw by the way um it's it's just super cool to see and like something and then Gamescom you know like two and half thousand seats all filled people standing people sitting on the ground people going bananas Whenever there was a cool play I think it's so cool to see and yes it's a very mixed audience but what what for us what's really really cool and you know are these wholesome moments where we see a dad or a mom with her kids watching this and in the beginning you see the parents like looking at their phone maybe you know not super engaged with the whole thing going on but eventually they look at the screens and they're staying there actually you know they're getting entertained and they see there something so it's like of Kim's dream as well think 10,000 seats and I like can we get a big Guardians I fully agree with the you need to be where where the player what the events are so it's of course like hard when there's few in-person events and it's something we would also like to change for All Star World Tour um question from iwak uh you added in streaks for win for win more easier trophies but have you thinking have you have you thought about come back to Old season reset maybe there's a lot of questions so maybe we can break down uh sure maybe I can take first part um he said that we added win streaks for easier trophies um I think just to make clear it's not easier to get high trophies you get to where you need to be quicker that's essentially what it does it doesn't inflate the top end it just makes you get there faster which I think is a good experience both for the win Streaker but also for the players you're playing against because it means like if you are not supposed to be let's say low trophies then you won't be there for long so you're not ruining games in that sense for as long um and when we talk about old season reset we're not going to do it in that way um we're never going to go back to that system I never say never but most likely not going back to that system but as Frank touched on before we do have significant plans for trophies in the future yeah uh ER thinking about let the player choose the servers they want and then he mention the the whole second question is very much about as well as about the trophy system actually yeah um no we are not planning to give people the option which servers to play on it just doesn't doesn't make sense for brawl really it would just make matchmaking way worse uh and even slower um but but again we we're working on something for the trophy system we understand that there is a problem there especially for highend players like eak it's it's like it's just not a great experience so we want to work work on that when you say it doesn't make sense for brawl you mean like as the identity of the game and perhaps for you know the greater audience not that um it would like not be a beneficial feature for some yes it's like exactly exactly it's it's more for for the larger larger audience it it really doesn't make sense eag is probably in the 0.001 000000 1% of our audience like it's like we we understand that there's just it feels almost like a different game at that point yeah but more often than not you know allowing people to you cannot just allow certain players to choose their servers um because the moment it becomes a feature people are using it and and out of our we we have quite a bit of experience with adding new server locations and and seeing the impact of latency the impact of matchmaking time on players behaviors and we know matter of fact that it's always a negative uh when when you when you make the matchmaking pool smaller mhm so so it's more like a protection mechanism for us you know we we don't think it's a good idea yeah yeah I think if if you were to ask these you know the 0.001% I think many of them would choose longer matchmaking over you know playing an EU against an A or vice versa absolutely yeah me know and we we're trying to we're have some ideas we have and and so so we'll see how that all works out but um but we'd like to find a good midle ground yep and how happy are you with the changes team power League we kind of touch on that and are you going to make people demote again H I think it's because we there is the the floors yeah the ranked floors and I feel like you try uh you you like you work you make the game for the casuals all the time so that's his concern I think that's a fair concern but I think we can go back to what Frank touched on that it's not necessarily the casuals it's the masses yeah and if you don't have the masses then there is no real competition because no one is playing that mode um but at the same time we want to make sure that the mode feels comp itive on the top end as well and I think that's where it's currently falling aad short and that's something we're looking to address yeah I think that in general like um I I was thinking of this like I think it was the first question about ranked as well where I feel like the way ranked is right now I would say the the the casuals or the masses are pretty happy for the most part I mean the metrics show that too right so many more people playing um so I think that a lot of the changes that could come and that you guys should be implemented is like are hopefully going to be focused on like that particular um you know category of people yeah absolutely yeah I think you know we see it as a win as well like the engagement rates in ranked are obviously higher so that's a that's a win but then the top end I think we don't consider a win currently because of how it functions and last question for H yeah I think there's like one element as well like we don't see this group on top as a athetic amount of people right you have a bunch of people in the middle of the game who are maybe not not as hardcore yet but but everyone starts as a noob everyone starts as a noob some people stick around long enough so that they become a regular player and that they're just like still playing for fun maybe and a portion of those people becomes the the core of our community and a part of that group will then promote to become hardcore and being in that top 1% so so what can we do from a systems perspective from from systems like ranked to help people climb that ladder like we want to have as many people as possible being as competitive as possible but it doesn't just work because we want it so we need to have systems in place that support this and again if you lose the the the masses already in in low illo place then well you know they won't pre promote higher and you won't have that competition so we this this whole funnel needs to work um and yes a part of the final works today not every part of the final works today yep and then his last question like uh thinking of like add adding specific rewards for like uh higher achievements or like uh top five or 10 in leader boards and ranked like I guess like per season something that gets permanently added and unique to that season um but yeah any plans I think it's a cool concept I guess it's just like how do you use your the resources you have in the team right cuz like that would be like aquac will have one but then it takes like an artist to do design this thing for him right where we could do something for a bigger audience I think still I don't know if in the last ranked design that Jeff presented there's something about it but I don't know I think it's a cool thing but need we need to see like the the what is it the outcome or like how much investment we put in this one feature this one unique cosmetic and what we bring back to us yeah I think that it's it's more realistic to expect things like you know when when you hit a certain rank in the leaderboard that that there's something you can show off permanently yeah like as in I'm not talking especially about a specific frame or something like that I'm talking about hey in your in your your on a forever leaderboard yeah yeah until someone is beating your score yeah yeah yeah stuff like this so so so high scores and and numbers is like I think it it it doesn't really matter if it's you know if you think of a skin as a Shore versus as a as a profile picture versus a frame versus whatever but at the end it doesn't really matter what that thing is as long as it signifies that hey look I'm on the alltime leaderboard and I'm rank two yeah you know like the we need to have ways to Express that part and that's what what what people are after for who are really really competitive anyhow yep true what would you be happy about you steady and ready like something that stays forever is it like a number or title or some kind of cosmetic that you can actually show in game yeah in a match yeah not just something that like sits on your profile like that that stuff is cool I think players when they ask for this sort of um some kind of badge to show um maybe some people have the impression that it like is going to create new content but this is something that they were already going to do anyway yeah I think placing something just Out Of Reach of what is already possible or perhaps even further creating new achievements um is is what would really satisfy the top players but even then it's only possible to reach for the very top players that said you could zoom out and look at it as a bigger picture and that well you know it doesn't get restricted to just them someone who creates content you know then that actually creates something larger than just the individual player well I think that especially when it comes to like kind of having those achievement to show on your profile and maybe some of them in game two you know on like where your Master's badge or whatever rank you are being able to see like the top how many you were last season uh something like that I think could be very uh nice and have that like Flex effect um but I think that like it is Niche but at the same time if you have like a system to kind of add value to pushing specific Brawlers total trophies ranked you know if if you get like an achievement for being top 10,000 and it just shows you know uh which number you you were in in the leaderboards well that's already 10,000 people in like 82 categories for the Brawlers plus ranked plus latter so it's not that small of a a group anymore so I feel like that could be something really nice to to yeah have that little Flex effect in your matches cool next question from flying line uh ever since Club Quest and Club League got replaced with MEAP clubs felt kind of dead because there's nothing to do for 90% of the month are there any plans to add more activities for clubs yes yes no but we do agree as well that that like Club League was not it yeah um mega pig is a decent middle ground but then again a lot of the time there's nothing to do um but we also have to realize that there are people who just like to play by themselves so we can't frontload like a lot of the stuff into the club without then hurting those players as well so there has to be a balance um currently the balance is not correct by the way um but we're working towards getting to a better and and also the solution wouldn't be just more MEAP pigs every weekend because then it will burn out exactly because that's kind of what happened with club right like it was exciting for a month two depending on who you are and then it's like oh here's the chore again that I need to do for all my rewards I think also what really drives at home is that Mega pig is accounted for in balancing the game economy so now it's really mandatory that you do it if you want to progress your account it is actually like you know look looking back from the transition we made from the old world to the new world the the mega pick is a piece of that and of course the the changes we did in braas are a piece of that so when when we int and we will introduce more things for clubs to do like it's just a matter of time just don't don't expect always these things to be huge things could be just you know another activity like the mega pick just different it could be temporary events for clubs like SpongeBob now things like that should just happen regularly and there should be fresh stuff going on for clubs again and again and again so to to really make sure that yeah once a month is just not good enough for us yeah and of course it doesn't help than than that we have a buck and then that we cannot run the MEAP pic for two month uh like like and it's happening in summer where where we are working with a smaller crew and we cannot just fix it it's super frustrating for us um so we we want more for clubs to do um but we need to be sensitive in how we're doing this as well because like everything we do there additive to the current economy yeah and I think like uh the goals of like Mega Pig was like we want more people to be in clubs and we want the people to be in clubs to play the mors like the club engaging with events and then we achieve this goal but then uh and I I think we achiev by maybe doubly what double of what we wanted uh but then it creates a different problem which is like okay so that there is only that the reward doesn't feel uh enough for then so I think uh it it gets like killed in a priority list right like is it like our top priority probably not like probably Mega pig is not on the top priority like I think uh that the thing you want to do like or the system that is closest to be done is like the trophy reset because it's something that it just hurts when it happens nobody understands how it works they get bad rewards it's like if you if you compare those things right Mega pig or trophy resette I think trophy resette is more important that's why you want to change this first so I think Mega pig in the uh set of priorities I wouldn't even put it below ranked because I think it's a ranked is more important as a lot of Pros are concerned and we also make want to make it more fun for casuals yeah so just to set like some expectations on when you can see some changes and for the record we're not planning to change Mega P Mega pick feature will stay yeah be more like we we thinking of what other things could we do for clubs yeah so like yeah Y and then the second question it's been more than a year since you promised to update the older skins to bring them up to the current standards uh but the progress on this has been very slow and there are still a lot of SKS that just feel awful to get from legendary star drops what are your thoughts on this well everybody said cry yeah hey we just buffed the worst skin in the game Frank oh yeah true true true on so like like it's uh yeah it's it's a deliberate Choice yeah it's it's a deliberate choice because we have X time and we are we're working on Old skins piece by piece um yeah when and it's not you know we cannot give you a timeline when things will happen because it really matters a lot about you know how much time do we have left besides the other stuff we're doing and uh yeah I think the worst offenders are done I know that some people I agreed I I I do it's very subjective right yeah super subjective I I know that you know some people don't like grea Motes oh okay it's not a fleshy skin for some people some people love it it's like you and even if we're going when we're going back to old models like the Brock model was somewhat uh controverse topic I mean like we address but we address it now as well yes it's uh yeah it's like we're still committed committed to doing this when we we actually reworking all models in general from Brawlers REM you know looking at Old skins which are really like not our quality standard anymore um it's it's just not it's a it's a secondary task for our team and we we're doing it when we have time and no specific timeline there yeah a l priority of course like when it makes sense so like Frank got a rework right so it made sense to actually got their skins and try to remodel cuz then we take this as an opportunity to actually highlight those otherwise it could be like hey we rework this SK and then nobody care because like there is it's already an old skin right but yeah like trying to make the best out of the changes uh question from kator these are my questions uh there are there is going to be super s make that we can design on hypercharge schin that would be really cool I think yeah yeah just that sounds like a really cool idea yeah just need to talk to the AR team yeah yeah it's more work for the artist but I guess they they are happy with that uh and can you do a challenge to get a brw for free again it's an interesting topic it's like like uh yeah I think Danny you have a good answer for that in General on on the topic maybe to give some some cont text yes uh so so like on the course of the years we've done free browers in different ways right we released Edgar which was like free on the day and actually he crashed the server for eight or 10 hours I don't know that was a long day or like eight eight days that's how it felt at least yeah that's how it felt yeah and then we try like okay so like maybe that was a bad idea because it was much everyone was playing edar at the same time so they let's try to do a challenge and then I think we did for grief uh and then it didn't have the impact we wanted cuz like when we released Edgar like people were crazy like people I think it was one of our highest du days back yeah yeah back in the day um and actually they stay so they were playing Edgar and they were excited about it so the results were amazing and they're still playing Edgar they are still playing Edgar never reced only Edgar but then in Spain for four years when we did grief it didn't have any meaningful results right so like it the delivery of the content also affects the performance of the game uh and then we try differently so maybe challenge is like it's too Niche let's try Quest and then we did gray uh during the Christmas time um and then also didn't bring a lot of results and people some people are even unaware you could actually unlock the brawler for fre through Quest so for challenge probably not because it doesn't bring anything back to us it's just we're giving like a free stuffff and then like when when we do something for free we want at least like players playing the game like being engaged or like broadcasting this thing everywhere like if we do this like we give out like because imagine that a brother for free it costs some money because you are giving this value of this item away right um so we want to at least get the engagement back so yeah I guess like maybe new ways to to release free stuff yeah we can try but probably not challenged challenge maybe not their way I think once upon a time you could in theory get every brawler for free right if you stack your boxes appropriately but the systems changed now and you had some thoughts on this we discussed earlier about how now seems like every new brawler releases uh through a value pack and it'll stay that way for two weeks so a new brawler comes out for someone that isn't really one week one week okay cool sorry my bad he buys them instantly anyway yeah this is true so so I have no perspective on this but but you know new brawler comes out it's supposed to be very exciting but if you're not willing to make the inapp purchase then you don't get to engage with that release yeah um this this has been kind of one of my complaints about like monetization I I guess uh is I'm really not a fan of the value pack uh I I feel I get the point of it like I'll start with the positives uh because I'm aware of the fact that you know stops the servers from dying and everyone playing the same brawler and matchmaking is terrible so I I I do see the benefits there but personally like I don't buy them and then I kind of lose the hype for the new brawler by the time I unlock it so like I mean I unlocked Mo and I played like three games with it so far because I wasn't as excited and I used to remember like years ago when everyone would kind of be able to get the Brawl on the same day it would be super hype it would be like oh raise to rank 35 and seeing like uh how how strong it is and it felt kind of like being a part of an event in a way um which is a feeling that I completely lost now and I don't know I think it's kind of sad that I'm not like as excited anymore about new Brawlers we we cannot really see that in the numbers um I like I I can totally see that as an individual that it might feel like that but from from just looking at you know engagement numbers looking on the player who come in on that day Etc um it it doesn't look like like that's largely the sentiment at least for us like was a gentle way of introducing more monetization make things more sustainable without adding more power or without adding power 12 or something like this it's like just just trying to become creative with what we have already giving a small benefit for payers which is that weak Early Access um without you know changing something permanently about the power in the game um yeah I think that's it it's not going to go anywhere it's it's just it's it's working really well for what it is I'm afraid and I think that's fair but I also want to give another perspective I think from uh balancing side for example because you know there's always the meme that oh no new roller it's op so forth but the Early Access for example period is is a really good way for us to also see is that statement true or not because like if we release it to everyone at the same time like you know if everyone get the brawler day one then let's say it waks Havoc or it's let's say it's worse like it scratches the game we've seen that with Gene for example then that's a much larger impact for the player base right and then we don't have the same amount of time to rectify that before everyone gets their hands on it so there is other positives than maybe just looking at the monetary aspect as well yeah and I think like uh it's a balance like I'm I'm not happy that you are sad with the new format right need for the record but like it's the sacrifice we have to make because like how sad are you are like are you really yeah are you like overall yeah because if it's like you can wait a week right we we think it's a fair exchange that a player can wait a week to have the brw for free and we also released that before the season so every credit that he has it turns uh it gets into the new brawler if that that's the only brawler that they have left so we feel like yeah there is a a balance we can do maybe like if you would like to make this lighter would be like maybe the amount of days would be like like four days that is in the value pack or something like that but then like it's also hard to communicate like one week is really clear right one week sounds like clean but I I think that for me like the only issue I have with it cuz I love the idea of the value right of having like this is a great deal to buy and you get tons of like progression and and I think there's a skin as well yeah get all the P all Cosmetics the some progression I love that you should try it you can use your own code I love that my own issue is just like the week which feels like long and I also feel like I build up a negative bond with that brawler because usually they're pretty strong and I also get why they have to be strong especially if the only way to get them is like you know credit card um but then I feel like I kind of hate that brother because for a week every time I face it like I don't it's not an enjoyable time you know so I I feel like once it's released yes part of me is excited to try it and like inflict the pain that I've been that I've been receiving but part of me is also like yeah just has that negative association to a brawler which I feel like wouldn't be as strong if I was able to also play it when other people are if that makes any sense and just I want to I want to touch on that really quick the op part or whatever because I want to say it very clearly we don't make op Brawlers on purpose I've said this many times but if if we don't make them strong enough then people forget them basically by default and they can never recover so I I made this example a few times but if you look at Doug if you look at let's say Willow they still haven't recovered we've buffed them lots of times and they're still not super strong don't get me wrong but Willow for example she's in a really good spot win ratewise but she's not popular because she never recovered after the weak kind of launch that she had um so we don't want to repeat that mistake because there is no worst feeling like you're really looking forward to a brawler everything looks cool you play a brawler and it's super weak and you're like that's not cool you know that's the worst I completely agree with that by way like I think new BR should be strong no you know I think the the strongest depends on on who's playing them as well get very like snowb at times but I completely agree with that like and when we change this format a bit like actually ready I don't know if you've been also in play test but like we've been testing uh with creators before it goes live uh and then like if many I think all the times we actually nerve or like both the brawler because we get his feedbacks like we try not to have ai and Lori effect ever again and even like other Brawlers that have been released after that they are on the stronger side uh they they don't feel like I can't beat this brawler any counter or anything right yeah I think that it's about you need you need to feel like there is some fairness involved like you you can't feel like Larry and Lori where oh it doesn't matter what I play where I an assessing can yeah it's like yeah you know so there needs to be a sense oh I can beat this brawler if I play this or if I play better or so forth so it's um to to go to go back to the original question again it's it's the you know when we when we change to the whole Star Road system and everything like one of our ambition was that like some in average people had less than one legendary back then people tend to forget this uh and now people are actually unlocking the broad that want the if you're free to play or if you don't want to spend that much money you will unlock Brawlers slower but it's not like you cannot unlock the Brawlers you want especially that on on the day when you know the Early Access offer runs out we make the brawler available to everyone they can switch their credits to it and as a consequence today we see people in general unlock Brawlers faster than ever before and also on that day one more people get access to the new brawler more than before even free to playay players so so I think like this the the the main decision free to-play players have to make is you know which brawler do I want to unlock but then if you really want Kenji you know you just can save your credits and and of course like yeah and that's a behavior we see like so so we just see more people unlocking new Brawlers faster than before and more people unlock more Brawlers in general than before which is really healthy for the game I think because then the wider the pool you have of brawlers the more likely you find something you really like to play so it's a it's a overall it's a positive change even though again individual mileage might vary cool uh great segue about balancing the next questions like M tro uh what are your plans with the balance there are still several unbalanced brers for example Piper who didn't get enough right nerve yet or even Dynamite or Lely with their Gadget uh and the situation might turn worse when more new when new brers come yeah no I think this is a fair concern um I don't think the examples are correct though but that's that's setic maybe Lily yeah so Lily Lily is fine I think that's absolutely on point I think the gadget is not healthy uh I I have a plan for it we didn't manage this update um but we want to do it in the future um Piper is actually on the negative side on win rate so Piper is weaker than the average brawler currently um and dynamite is also I think Dynamite is actually nearly exactly 50% win rate wow as as of this moment good job Adrian but regardless I do agree that the that the stun Gadget that I'm assuming he's talking about does not feel good to be on the receiving end of right like I think that's the problem with both L and Dynamax gadgets especially is the feeling that something do this like oh I couldn't have done anything um and that we want to move away from um so the dynamic one it's also like it's in in in real like I think we should have some stats somewhere half often that's actually hit yeah it's not how often is someone actually getting stunned after it's being used because like you know you can bait it you can wait it out you can just dodge it do yeah well you can dodge it of course but it's like I actually wonder how many times this gadget is activated and how many times someone is stunned afterward yeah you're right but but I I I I don't even think that's the issue I think it's when you do get stunned you forget all the times that you've dodged it or not get it because that feels so bad get good um so yeah that is um but yeah it's yes we're looking into um balancing the things that feel unfair let's put it that way and then ah so like we finished with the Twitter question so now we I we we open to ready and Teddy questions all right I guess I'll go first first question comes from someone that replied to me on Twitter when I asked you know do you guys have any questions that I should ask on your behalf and the first question is why are so many people getting hacked lately yeah it's like uh I've been answering like some of the creators because also they are discussing these as well it's like our audience is pretty young so like uh if someone wants to give you free gems it's probably a trap like I would say 100% of the times it's a trap it's like don't give personal information and I think uh our audience is like young enough that like they are not super internet Savvy like they're like we've all been like learning like don't tap on those weird uh links don't talk to strangers or anything for them it's a na thing and like no security system in the world would prevent if you give your personal information to the scammer right so there is one thing then bra bra blowing up I think like bra being like on the top of the charts and everything it becomes a target for hackers and scummers and everything um and I was even talking to a scummer trying to understand like why are you doing that and then he he said like for monetary uh reasons so like as a source of um money or whatever so like you can see that like there's many reason like you can be like you are proud of like stealing an account you are like you making money out of that it's like we would like to take the opportunity here to maybe educate everyone to like don't don't share personal information with you like we supercell will never ask you for this information um and then uh if something feels too good to be true it's probably a scam um and yeah and if you don't do those things your account is pretty much safe like if you don't give personal information or if you don't don't tap on links that you see out there I would also say you know for for those watching hello don't screen share with your notifications on on Discord um if someone knows your email for your account then they can you know try and log in and it will send you a code and then they could use that code to log in yeah don't share anyone your email that you use to make your account that code that you receive in the email is not used for anything except for logging in and making changes to your account like changing your email it's not used for the supercell store to accept a gift of gems or a brawl pass which a lot of people fall for even you know experienced people who've been around the game for a while yeah and don't share any information that could be used to identify you as the owner of the account because then that can be used to trick the support system yeah and I think also uh we know this is the problem of course and we are working on like better tools and better processes to actually for the user to recover the account by themselves well well you're working on tools where you know when a player loses their account to actually turn that back to their hands recovery essentially yeah yeah and then more uh giving more information to the player right so if someone log into your account then you get a notification that this is happening so you're working on lot a lot of tools to like help the player to help themselves yeah uh I remember what I was going to say and I think like the best form of education is getting screwed once right like once you get that and then you are able to recover you will never do this mistake again but our current process it is that you you get screw once it's probably pretty much you lost your account so that's what we're trying to revert and we know it's a common problem we have now yeah there's also like behind the scenes we're trying to make things safer um but of course there will always be ways if you if you share your account information there there's again there's there's it's impossible for us to do anything because like you can you know use Leverage with any existing system but but there's some ways for us to make it maybe a bit clearer also for the players what they're doing yeah and we're looking into option I don't want to disclose too much because of course that makes it also easier for uh malicious actors to to do something but behind the scenes we're also working on other things and yes account recovery should be better and could be better but again a lot of the you know slow wa low don't don't expect when you write a ticket to support that they come back to you within an hour it's not going to happen response time can be 2448 72 hours and that is just again a function of us blowing up when it comes to to audience and then especially whenever something big is happening in the game expect that there's a spike of incoming tickets yeah uh for our customer service team and so and customer services again is one of these things that they don't just scale because we want so you know it takes time to train new people it's a slow process so we're working on all of that to make it better yep should I ask some question uh well I have questions that are like entirely mind some I took inspiration and won't credit people sorry uh and somewhere like I straight up just copied a question so this is a question from zero on Twitter um they are asking if there are any plans to have more hyperchargers like surge where it's the main attack that actually is influenced because every other Brer as far as I know it's really just a super and then the stat buff yeah so maybe I can talk a little bit I think I talk well I'll talk about it just to make sure so our kind of design pillars when we make hyper charges is that your super needs to behave in the same way as your normal super plus something else in Serge's case your super actually does enhance your main attack right that's that's kind of why we were able to do that with surge and I think that's the cool part but um it doesn't mean we can do it for other Brawlers but our pillars for now have been okay you're super and then something um so there is other opportunities for example a new button what what yeah for example but yes there is there is opportunities um and I have some ideas on some Basics that could be cool to alter um but search was the natural first thing because he had it in his kit to begin with that's kind of what I thought as well and it actually makes sense cuz you know yeah his shot only splits because of his super MH okay my next question is for me oh I want to know what is is the point of braw orts from your perspective I think a common theme of this podcast has been explaining to people that a lot of decisions made on this team most of them um are from a business standpoint because this is a business of course we wish to entertain people however this is a business how does that influence Broly Sports I think Esports are famously uh a money pit not profitable so what role does braw orts fill for the game overall I think in in general right Esports like let's let's start with the obious Esports today in bro doesn't make money yay you got to press the button um it's it's uh got and there are more efficient ways of losing money yeah invest in no it's um it's it's one of these things where I think a lot of companies try to make Esports profitable like r games uh Activision Blizzard you know when with a OverWatch League I I think they're really big plans but but none of that really worked so so as far as we know you know none of the big players has a profitable Esports business so so for companies like Riot games it's a marketing tool and that's pretty much all the marketing they do there's very little other marketing they do and and for them it's just that was their way of reaching more people and and that's cool that works when you have a very hardcore game when when you have a midcore game like brawl stars that that is not necessarily how it works however that doesn't mean we don't have the ambition to make brawl Esports at least you know pay for itself that would be great and I think like this year for example our collaboration with the SPs was a step in that direction actually so even though you know we had less money to work with can can we find ways to to have something that is somewhat more reasonable when it comes to cost um so now that doesn't necessarily answer your question of why we're doing it we we do believe that there's a a group of our audience really likes to watch competitive Brad Esports and or competitive brawl play in general not even Esports for them it's really interesting because they they look at that and they learn something they get better as players they they get more engaged with a game so it's a it's like targeting a very specific segment of our players in the hope that you know they will learn something they will enjoy it they will become more sticky and stick around with the game for longer um we don't have any hopes to get new users which never played brawl into braw Esports even though that would be nice if we could achieve that but of course like at the end of the day it is a marketing tool it is a marketing tool for us to engage our very engaged players out there and and that that has value but in a perfect world we we would be able to do more with this we would be you know like of course profitability would be great then we could do even more brw e Sports and we will probably experiment in the future with other formats you know other you know should we have sponsors in the game should we should we you know in real life events we've been very cautious with selling anything at events but should we you know do have merch when whenever you go to an in-person event people are like hey can I buy some brawl merch you know so I guess we're looking into ways of making that happen everyone in the team believes in Esports we really like watching competitive play but that's of course not good enough of a business rational to do it we we do believe that there's an angle of that this is helping us with our strategy for retaining hardcore players in the game um was a future hardcore players and then it might also be part of our regional strategies sometimes you know for example in Japan one of the angles for broads is Competitive Gaming much more than in any other region by the way that's why we also see some of the most competitive teams in the world being Japan teams in the US competitive play matters more than in Europe so so it might be part of our Market strategy when we say hey we want to win a certain Market is Esports a part of that play can it help us make the game feel big and interesting and eventful also a little bit kind of going deeper into that I think it's also really cool for some players that are not yet you know really good at the game or stuff they're really interested and they see esport and they see the way or the path to orts because I think that's something unique in braw as well it's pretty linear like you have the in-game event for example and I think that's a really cool way like I could be there like that feeling is really powerful right like if I'm good enough I can be there and and that's a big thing for for a significant amount of players I think as well are you happy with that I'm I'm very satisfied well because previously I wasn't really sure what role Broly Sports filled and everything given that it appeals to very specific genre of players and we often hear the rationale of well you know this wouldn't make sense for us to dedicate um our resources to because it is so Niche MH to kind of like touch up on the Esports conversation especially since Frank you already mentioned Kim so like Mr brw Esports uh one of his main goals or dreams is getting like 10,000 people in the audience uh do you guys have like personal like a personal wish list or any you know items in there that you would like to to see happening to orts yeah I think uh for me like I would like to see BR Esports as part of like a broader uh BR event CU now it's very Niche like when there's a brow event is the sports related I would really love to like brand everything brow stars and then there is a event there is a part of the event and I think uh yeah and I see like it as um as a great marketing tool because like having the best players in the world playing live for you it is a cool thing to have in every event we have right so I think what I would like to see is an event that not only bring the best players in the world but also bring like the BR Universe to this event so basically that's it for me I think one of the coolest things and I I take this from my personal kind of experiences is is having players for example that no longer play the game but still follow Esports so like for example when I played league and then I stopped having the time to play but I I was still interested in orts and I think that's a really like that's a in my mind like nearly ultimate fandom like you you still want to experience the game you still want to feel that feeling but you just don't for example for one reason or another you can't play anymore or you have a break from the game or whatever but you're still interested I think that's really cool for you Frank yeah it's a there's the pretty boring answer which is like I would love to be in a place that we could invest even more in rolly Sports because it's it's either like profitable or at least Break Even because then you know like I think it would give many people in our ecosystem like career opportunities at the end of the day the the the players the the talent I think that would be amazing and if if it can help us to achieve some of our strategical goals especially when you think about um Geo expansion and and stuff like we of course we are Global game already so we cannot expand in the sense of hey the moon planets like not yet not yet at least um but but we're not big everywhere we're a pretty Global game actually we're pretty Global there's not many games that are big in Japan Korea the US Europe and South America but but I I do believe that there's generally more space for braw to grow and I think Esports could be one angle in some markets at least in other markets not relevant but but but in some markets there is space for this so so I I just can't help but one now you know how much more can we can we use Esports as a on one side as as a tool for us to help keep braw growing in some markets while making it more sustainable for everyone involved so that would be great so and and Danny's point is a great one like should you know every when when we have a brw BC season in a month should that be themed around the update we have that month should it be you know can can we integrate both things more with each other and then if we have an in-person event does it only have to be Esports or could there be fan meet up with you know some content creators and over there is a merge corner where you can buy merge and then there's some other activities so I think like there's just many opportunities we haven't really tapped into also because of you know our traditionally small team sizes we are we're trying to get better place with us where we have more bent withth and where we can try out and experiment more yeah but well ready can I you you use your question ticket on that one I suppose so we'll see I think a lot of um I think a lot of my questions here have been answered here's here's just kind of an interesting um theoretical question just to kind of see how yall think I think I asked you quite some quite similar at Worlds last year the question is do you think brawl star would be a better meaning more fun and enjoyable game if spending money were not an option I don't think so personally um like the the way we're looking at money like every business like not like every business actually like when when whenever we create new content it's never money is never the driver behind that when we when we create a new feature it's always driven by how does it make the player's life better does it have a monetization component sometimes yes sometimes no um but we generally want to make the best game first but um monetization for us it's the ultimate sign of Engagement people do not invest time or money into stuff they don't care about so so it's a so for us it's more like it's not it's an outcome it's not the goal I can I can tell you nobody work would work in video games if it was about money only there's you know like people could invest their their programming skills their design skills their business skills into other other Industries and would make more money personally speaking but but most of us are here because of a passion and and all of us are playing the game and you can have you know like with all of us a meaningful conversation about the game but of course we need to we need to earn some money to keep this going to invest in things like Esports to you know to just you know pay the builds and the the more profitable we are we we are the more opportunities we have have to to do things and this a bit zoomed out not only brawl right as a company if braw is not profitable of course like may maybe let's assume for a second very hypothetical we would just break even so we would have brawl it would be this this stalemate where we only have brawl we cannot do any new games eventually braw would decline like maybe not in the next 5 years let's say in 50 years from now right bra would bra probably will be smaller in 50 years from now maybe it's still be around maybe it's a different version of a game but you know there will be decline so as a company we have to develop new games we have to look for the next cool thing for for our players to generate value for our players and then as a side product that generates value for us as individuals and the company but for that to happen we need to have a profit because else we cannot hire the next five developers who then make the next cool game like Moco right now you know is in development because we have games like brawl and it wouldn't be around if it wouldn't so so it's like so ultimately I think no no it's like it wouldn't make brawl better it also wouldn't necessarily mean that more people engage with brawl it's it's just you know like something free is sometimes something people don't really care about but I think I was like getting his qu uh your question from a philosophical perspective like if you don't have to spend can you have the same amount of fun and I'm like I was like in a crisis while while Frankie was answering that one cuz I was stying to think of like there are like freet to-play games that I don't pay anything and I just churn immediately as opposed to like when for example like I bought I bought um this astrobot that just got released for PlayStation and then I just feel like the need to play and have fun right it's almost like there's like a commitment with the money involved and I would say like brao is the same thing that just like I don't know like you're playing normally you're evolving but it feels stale it feels like I want more of this and then it feels like the money part but like I don't know how much is it like uh like the universe we leave it's like the capitalism blah blah that it makes money important for you to have fun or something or yeah I don't know it feels that if there's no if you don't pay for it you don't feel as committed and it even could feel like less fun so like when you buy a skin you want to show off that and it's part of the fun right and it could be like if you everyone could buy this king or like you don't need to to pay money for that it loses the fun of like the showing off I don't know it's it's really deep yeah but really and going going back a bit because like let's say we there was no way to pay in the game for anything then probably you would have to pay for the game itself right like that's that's the option because sure there needs to be somewhere and if you do do that then that's a really hard hurdle for people to overcome right so then suddenly because we want to reach Mass audience right we want to reach as many people as possible to have fun with the game and if you have to pay for it then we are no longer achieving that because a lot of people they can't afford that like they for example or for some reason they don't want to do that and then we kind of failed on the first step already so it's not really viable for us in that way I think like some of the the message of you know our goal is to make a good game first and foremost um gets lost when you are like only seeing things from the outside in and and you don't have that transparency of you know hearing the thoughts and sort of the inner mechan of um the mindset of everyone on the team because in the end it is a necessity that you know this can sustain the lifestyle of everyone that creates the game um it it's all just quite complicated I think conversation started yeah it's probably you get a probably whole podcast just about this topic yeah it's uh it's like of course as a company we choose freet toplay as a business model because we have that dream of bringing games to as many people as possible and and I think it's like to create ex inclusive games right you need to be free to play it's like how many like something like we we're getting fan mail quite often and we're getting like messages from parents quite often I can tell you after Co there was the spike of positive influx of messages from people who said thanks for brawl star because like I was stuck in my room and and you know like that was my outlet that was my way into the world and completely free to play and we we're completely happy if you're completely free to play we we are not you know like it's we we're happy with having you around and the lon share of our users today is free to play that's true for every free-to-play game but the amount of people who can play games that are free to playay today because of the model versus the amount of people who could play games before that it's like both the mix free-to-play model and mobile is it made you know a democratized gaming it made it from an exclusive hobby for a small niche of people who had enough money to buy a PC to buy a gaming console to buy all of that to open it up to you know like this is was the Diablo guy right don't you have a phone everyone has a phone everyone has a phone today and everyone can download freet to-play apps so so the amount of people who play games today is so much bigger because of this and it's like for me it's like I I you know I was a hardcore I worked at blizzard and I was a hardcore PC Gamer for a long time and I would belittle everything that's not PC gaming including the console boys you know it's like for me it's like ah it's not even gaming but but but I'm today I'm like I'm I'm I'm a steadfast defender of the model because I ultimately think we can you know can bring ultimately so much joy to people who who wouldn't have that joy in their life who wouldn't have the distraction who wouldn't have anything to play so so I think it's really yeah but of course it needs money to keep it going MH and I think it kind of goes like full circle with the monetization discussion because it's like the people that spend more money on the game are kind of like paying for the people that are free to play there's like yeah some beauty in that I guess in a way and one one other thing I wanted to add up with this as well just like a thought um is like the fact that skins and Brawlers and everything kind of like has some sort of monetary value I think gives it like more value in general because when you get a free skin what you're not getting like nothing you're getting you know something that is worth a certain amount of gems which is worth a certain amount of of money and that I think that makes it um especially with like the gacha mechanics I think it makes it extra exciting because you know that what you're getting is like worth more than you know what you would normally get so you're you got lucky and it feels like you you got lucky and and like that yeah all right I think this one is for Adrian but maybe everyone has something to chip in uh I was wondering was like the amount of different devices that bro can be played on how does like testing and optimizing go do you guys like you know do that on specific devices you have like a list where you like you know checkbox everything like how how does that go great question um there's many steps to this so I want to start with we have of course a quality assurance team in house so we have um a team that sits with us that takes care of the manual testing part but something they also do is they coordinate a lot of external partners that we have that help us test um that's how we get like the qualitative data when it comes to actual performance for example like how does braw play on this device we of course have a lot of devices ourselves but then we Al also have data like that we collect that tells us okay what is the average for example FPS on this device our mission overall with the quality of the game is it needs to be as playable as possible on as many devices as possible also because we mentioned the age profile usually of our players they might not have the best devices so if brawl runs perfectly on let's say the newest iPhone but doesn't run as well on older ones that's not good enough we need to make sure that everyone has a good experience nearly no matter what device you have of course some times there are things outside of our control for example brawl is no longer supported on certain devices because of an OS update that is mandatory or something like that but those are rare So in general that's kind of the mindset we have like we want to make sure that it's playable on as many devices as possible did I miss some part of the question or was that the I guess how do you test on every device oh how do you test on every device well that's essentially impossible we don't test on every device in existence um for example also just to give an example like let's say you have a Galaxy phone let's say Galaxy S10 or whatever um if you bought it in the US it's a different pH phone from if you bought it in the EU versus if you bought it in Asia even though it's the exact same phone um but it has different chipsets for example for I'm not going to go too technical but I'm saying basically it's impossible to test on all the variations but what we can do is make sure that if there is a phone that is a real problematic case that we can see from data we get that phone and then we see okay what is actually the issue can we fix it is it something that the manufacturer has to fix and then we can for example talk to the m like hey this thing doesn't work on your thing can you can you look into it for example but everything that is in our power to fix and optimize we want to try do I'm satisfied I went really deep technically sorry but I'm really passionate about the subject sign how satisfied you are 100% satisfaction perfect nice my last thing this is more unstructured it's me gauging the likelihood of seeing a couple of features I would really like to see um they would especially be useful for Productions of Esports the first one is what is the likelihood that we see um an upgrade to the spectator mode where we would see one game automatically progress into the next if it's a power match and then also seeing draft beforehand that is kind of two questions two questions oh yeah that's like that's like okay I'm like ramping up in in terms of how much development time it would take and then the final one that would be nice to see is um an adjustment to the API that allows you to see in progress tournament matches gather realtime data especially in terms of draft which is currently uh restricted only to tournament organizers sure I think there's there's uh many steps to this I think spectating in itself is quite a niche in our game if if we don't look at Esports right and don't look at API and everything like people spectating games is not as many as people playing game obviously but that doesn't mean it's not a priority like we're also I'm I'm annoyed by this every time it's like I have to quit the Spector and go back in between rounds like it's really annoying and these small things that are annoying is stuff that is basically on our list to fix so but it doesn't mean that that's the first thing we're going to fix but eventually we will get to it unfortunately it's not a satisfactory answer cuz I can't give you we will fix it then but I can tell you we will fix it eventually if that makes sense yeah maybe like if you're touching on a feature that is related to spectate or something like that then I guess like some orts integration with the game or whatever then now it makes sense to get like this feature from the backlog or something like that exactly and I think it's the same same kind of logic for apis yes like we want to make sure it's as user friendly as possible as versatile as possible and has you know kind of the robustness that you'd expect from the API on the Esports side but again that takes time and it just needs someone to prioritize it and for us to be able to okay this is actually something we really need for example to this for this production to be of the quality that we want it to be and stuff like that on the API side actually we we recently hired a new team member he's a producer who's helping us to get a bit more organized with some things and um a like General API not necessarily only Esports API is now a constant part of our thinking every update cycle so you already start reaching out to some uh you know third party developers who built websites and stuff around that braw to to ask them hey what what kind of features do you want um so the Esports API is just one other angle there and um yeah it's probably something we're going to improve over time and hopefully we can make it more accessible for other people but there's like around competitive play in general Etc right it's it's still the way structure right now besides BC it's it's rather Niche mhm so so there's other things which probably come before making the Esports API more accessible and and you know things like can we make it easier for people to run tournaments within brawl with in-game rewards you know like we don't know yet it's it's yeah that's that I think the complicated thing is the spectac draft that's technically not the way how it's structured today there's no no easy way of doing doing this and and so I wouldn't get my hopes up that that will happen anytime soon if at all um but the other two yeah yeah I think a little bit of like quality of life related to this as well is like I think it would go a long way for third party events for you know streaming a match arino and even like in the BC at times because you have spectator bugs where if you're spectating a Lobby it's going to switch sides or the lobby is not going to appear at all so you have to go in the in the friend list and it's like uh those little inconsistency don't get me started on like The Spectator servers uh at time yeah um so there's a lot of those like things that kind of come into play and and I I know it's very Niche but it is truly like a a limit that is I think frustrating for like you know people heavily involved in orts because there's nothing we can do about it because it's just like okay we can't spectate the game there's no solution M yeah yeah that's fair that's fair um just before we go to the ready questions I know that ready is good at Impressions oh and yeah maybe maybe you do the impression and people try to guess who it is yeah that this is actually a great idea this was a this is a really tough one you ready yeah let's hello everyone and welcome to bro talk today we are going to be introducing six new hyperchargers several star Powers two new brers in this next update I don't know who [Laughter] you're thank you thank you very much like you even sounded more German than FRS no can you say C puffy again oh yeah Cel something close enough close enough it's a pass yeah can you do an impression of us or I I'm working on one of you but it's not ready for anyone not not production qualif okay okay okay that makes sense enough all right so let's go to the Reddit questions I think those are like still like very engaged players so like it might take some time but then the Instagram and YouTube they should be really casual uh your beater rival um do you plan on buffing the star Powers Gadget that didn't keep up with the power scaling like Ru field promotion for example yeah this is a really good question um the problem with that one specifically is it's a flat value and it's on it's like that on purpose um there's a few that values things in the game still for example the shield gear because if that is made percentage based then it kind of flips who it's for instead of being for a squishy brawler now it's for a tank for example for the shield gear if fit let's say 10% of your HP it's similar to the um field promotion but I do think we could increase the flat value but probably not make it a percentage if that makes sense yeah yeah um pay major the community has asked for so long to find solution with coins compared to PowerPoints coins is in big shortage maybe some kind of conversion could be possible to at least redu in the prices of hypercharge and thanks advance I love you then um yeah so like I prepare ears for this question um it's like what I what what I think that there is a problem is because we are not like giving less coins like we are giving more coins in general like raw coins actually on top of like the renal rewards that's like Gadget star drops hypercharge in gcha but players are still complaining about that so there's a perception that like I'm not getting enough progression um and I think it's because not I think like it's obvious we added a new sink that is a huge sink hypercharged right so I think there's a lot of things at play here uh because if we if we just add a flat number of coins in the BR pass or like something that you can see okay so there is a obvious buff here because before it was that now it's this like so we would see like the buff and then that will probably help a bit with a perception but I don't think it would solve anything because it wouldn't change engagement it wouldn't change uh how much players will play the game because as we proved before like if it's just a flat reward people are not as excited to get or like they don't chase it um so then what we do with that is like there is the need there like people want to get this currency or they need more of these so you use this as a carrot for like our events for like SpongeBob there's like actual progression there which is on top of the flat progression that you have in game community events is the same we have like this big budget of like rewards that droping one day and then you feel like I can't miss this because uh I will it will help my account to be to progress so then it feels like we get more of the of what player is asking and then we get like something in return as well and then you might question like but why are you so greedy why do you need these results all the time just do a flat uh uh buff and that's it and then I think we go even deeper because like just take an example like uh the game that just got released like Jeff is talking all the time about that the black meat uh Wukong like it's a game that was made by a Chinese company and like it's so polished it's almost like perfect right and then it beat Dark Souls or every other Souls game like by but maybe not by far but like in maybe two weeks and every time there's a bunch of developers that are really talented really good that are releasing games in the market all the time and we feel like we are in this constant batt of like how can we make the most of the things we do right so that's why we require engagement for everything we do because if we in a Moment release something mild someone can go on top and release something great and that's could be enough for us to lose a lot of players right so that's for why for us players changing something is really important with that said I just want to say show a graph of how much how much more coins we are giving now um so like the average that it doesn't show that much because um of course there's a lot of spikes and then if you would uh average like put this spike in an average it will actually increase the Baseline but you can see that even like the Baseline is already increased when you change the BR pass um to the new format it's like it feels that we already like giving more overall and this for example I don't even know what this event like in April I think it's the 100 star drops maybe yeah I think so yeah like this day like you shouldn't Miss and that's why like that's why the events are so successful right so I think it's just like us asking for engagement like keep playing the game constantly and you get rewarded and you maybe you feel like the progression is going faster um we have here the average daily income so like that's every day and then you can see how like the Baseline is very high um and it's still uh climbing up which makes Jeff on our side to be to get desperate like oh my God they're getting too many coins but like then we can also raas hypercharge and sinks and things like that we can balance it out or maybe like not put them as much rewards on in a event so for example the last one we did with the box versus start drop um well we actually gave both rewards so that was a lot as well it was a lot but intentionally it was supposed to be like one of the rewards only so it wasn't like as much but you can see like the events are kind of like this flexible currency that we can adapt to however our economy is it's like we can see like that yeah players are getting too little they can't progress uh then you should like a bigger event and things like that because we also don't want to be in a situation where like there's a pay or like uh we play like we our mobile games here we play those games that like you play the first week and like yeah I'm progressing it feels great then like P you get to a point that like you need to play a month to upgrade your character to one level or something like that and brow is not like that you have agency to progress whoever you want and I think maybe the arguments like how can I be competitive how can I have all my Brawlers progress but a freeo player shouldn't be in this situation I think it's fine to ask that if they want a braw to be upgrade they can wait a season right and then they can invest all the resources there but basically that's the answer like we are adding more coins we adapt when we see that the the that we are actually giving less than they should and then we never want the progression to feel stale but we don't we don't just want to give like a flat coin buff because we don't we we know we won't get any results from that people will probably still have the same complaints but at least now they know why I I genuinely believe people always complained about coins in the history of broad stars from the very beginning yeah yeah but that's not a good thing we would like to solve this but I guess what I'm saying is It's never enough it's it's like even if you increase it it's never It's never enough it's it's like one of these things which is like it's like matchmaking like oh teamas in Showdown like there's just a few topics which by definition will always be there and even you know some people learned about you know they're maybe listening to this podcast or or see it on YouTube and and then the next generation of players that starts new will experience the same and they haven't seen the sprawl talk uh podcast yeah but I think with that said I think it would be interesting for us like to maybe to discuss internally what we can can we do to change this perception I think one of the questions there is like what if you add gears to to start drops or something like that Adent feels against it because you're like eh it's like a vision gears on on Primo yeah it's I I don't think it's the it's the best idea we can come up with but it's just like one of the ideas that is like okay this is an extra thing on top that has an absolute coin value but of course the per is like it's either great value or it might not be great value depending on what you get and for who right but there is many ways we can go about this and at the end of the day like you said it's about perception like we are giving you more but if you don't feel like you're getting more then we're giving it in the wrong way or we're not communicating clearly enough or something like that yeah and I think also like if you look at cairo's free to-play account like of course like he's doing like the M Max like he's doing everything he can to like progress his account for free but like he's already been paying for one year he has like I don't know 30 bers maxed out with Hyper charges and everything and that's already enough to be competitive right yeah for sure but but of course like he's being smart on his choices so he's not picking brers that are like weak for a long time and everything yeah and he's making choices right and I think that's something that we expect from a free play player like maybe you don't get all your Brawlers to level 11 with Hyper charges straight away that's fine then you know then you have to focus on okay this is my favorite one so I will start with this one and then I go to my next favorite one and so forth and I think it's fine to ask for that choice uh one uh question here um could maybe a little bit more like consistency in the stardrop rewards especially when it's like an item worth gold uh that you're reing could that maybe help the problem here plus like remove that slight frustration when like you get a legendary and you're hoping for I don't know a hypercharge but you get a gadget instead sure um this is something we discussed actually recently as well um I don't want to spoil too much but there's definitely discussions going on like how can we feel like you have more agency when you're opening drops essentially it's like oh I'm I keep getting bling you know and I just I just want credits for my uh for my fame yeah and yeah I was just going to say like it's very subjective as well right like let's say you get a hypercharge right if you really like that brawler that's a great drop for you yeah if you don't like the brawler that's not a good drop for you but value-wise it's the same right like the absolute value is the same but not for you and that's a tricky thing to solve for right like how do you feel about that so yeah also random ability also allows us to give more exactly because of that it's like we are only allowed to give more resources because you don't get exactly what you want all the time right it's like it's you are still progressing your account and you still get the value but then uh yeah but because if you give exactly what you want then you don't have a Carro to Chase and then that you don't have a meaning to play the game there's also like tons of POS about giving your rewards for Brawlers you're not currently playing for sure yeah because you you want people to have a white as possible brawler pool because they will enjoy the game more the the moment you you get over this onetick Pony behavior that you know you're only playing Edgar Edgar yeah then like it but sometimes it needs a carrot it needs to have a gentle push to hey we gave you hypercharge for this BR now you never play this roll up but you know go over there well actually it's it's true RNG for us so it's it's not like even we're deliberately targeting rets you're not playing but it it really helps actually the game as a whole to push you gently in trying out a different brawler you never played because you know oh my God you you might turn out that you like this other braer and then you're like oh damn I I really like playing this brawler so it's like the the random rewards have a have a really good use in that in that way as well and at the same time it allows us to give us more value actually than we would in flat currency Cho choice and and value need to be in Balance always yeah and I think randomized rewards give us this this ability to give a little bit more because it's random cool then Cubit will there be updates that have a long effect on game uh because last updates were just an event new schem blah blah blah but I would like know a lot of work thank you uh but like to know if there are some long lasting changes planned for for example the trophy reset uh we answered this question already but I would like to use this moment to sneak peek and it can cut after if it's not true that the next update will have a change to Trophy reset exciting whoa you Pi no I picked the wrong one another blue okay okay okay cool uh R the cobba boy are you ever planning on getting rid of PowerPoint since basically everything costs gold and even cost gold to upgrade Brower are you for example going to get rid of PowerPoints completely or make it so upgrading browers only con PowerPoint instead of code um I think Frank you had a good talk about PowerPoints of the future of PowerPoints or something that regarding to progression yeah and like more of a general statement what one of the tools one one of the reasons why it's in game development and game design it's better to have multiple currencies is that you you have more angle to balance things you can you can give rewards and encourage some behaviors and the moment you just have one currency you will forego all of that so you're losing design space you need to be more strict with how much you're giving out and all of that so two currencies just help us to balance things in a better way so so we are not intending to remove further currencies even though we haven't shied away in the past from removing currencies when necessary when we feel it doesn't add value then yes but but I would expect us to keep two currencies now this this problem with the surplus of PowerPoints is a very specific one again it's affecting very few players actually uh including myself I'm like sitting at 100,000 plus PowerPoints um and it's it's something we're aware of it's affecting a small amount of people but in the future like we are of course thinking of you know if you do the math and you know how many hyperchargers we release every update you you you will see that there will be probably an end ofroad at some point next year uh especially you know if you would accelerate some hyper charges here and there so so what's next what's coming after hyper charges is it power 12 um like we don't know we don't we genuinely don't know um do I think it would be power 12 no probably not we we have some other ideas um all these are way too early to talk about it but but there's other ideas and and we're looking at this like these other ideas that would probably add some sort of um deep deepening of gameplay and if you think about you know people who have Brawlers at Power 11 and hyperchargers and they're probably pretty pretty mature in the game and they they want deeper game play so and those players are also the players who have a surplus of power points so s like an opportunity yeah yeah can we can we take these two things and you know make something magical in the middle so can can we can we add deeper gam playay while addressing the power point Surplus on high end yeah for highend players for people who have pretty much all the Brawlers unlocked because it's the only situation you will be in a surplus of PowerPoints so we we're trying to figure out like if we can solve both things at the same time have cool new gameplay and fix the PowerPoint situation so in the short term that also means that we're not going to change anything about the existing situation because you know we want to get there sooner or later uh Tiger tour one question what is your opinion on on Wing Traders and Wing trading and high trophy matchmaking how you plan to fix it like um it's really tricky to tell what's Wing Trader exactly because like to understand that someone is coordinating this Wing through a a third party software already is one thing but like someone see like for example they see ready and Teddy playing against then they're like yay so excited I will give this Wing to then like is this Wing trading if it's like organically from the other thing to give this Fring wing of course like we can identify patterns and everything thing and when we do then we take action and we punish the the player but I think even in Showdown which is like I think is like where people complain about the most people team to win because like that's the it's like survive right survive this and then they use it as strategy so I guess like long story short when we identify a pattern that yeah is a coordinated Wing trading we do punish the player but if it happens organically it's really hard to tackle mhm have you considered just punishing in throwing in general yeah I think we did some cases of like uh or we we did punish people already yeah we acely because then it's considered griefing right if because you are affecting your teammates yeah yeah but yeah we do that as well and then the increased amount of power points okay we had that yep okay tiger t h there's more maybe for now I will just answer one questions of the ones that answer that question that asks multiple questions mhm I'm sorry tiger Tor uh sir marp is there possibility that can we can choose what Lobby music you want to play or we want to play in the background uh I want to be able to listen let's say s of Love blah blah blah yeah I think it's like we talked about this I think in the past already probably we like we all like the idea it's it's more of a you know it's somewhere on a on a nice to have list yeah of something we would like to do at a point it's just not a priority because it's not that important or impactful yep now for Adrian appropriate catch are you thinking to rework some hyper charges which are bad like Jean Bells Charlie Pearl nanis and yeah yeah uh short answer yes uh funnily enough jeans and bells were actually supposed to be switched in the original design what yeah true story can we do that no like so that was that was yeah that was the the original design for them essentially homing Je but it but it felt better the other way around I love that you loved it yeah I know show show him your unbiased my tattoo but yeah so we want to get through with all hyper charges because we're trying a lot of experimental stuff as well right and once we're done we can go back and go like okay which ones don't work and then we can deal with those cool um Mario YouTuber bloody X for I ranked why can't I soft the soft sort the browers the way I want ah so like it's asking for sorting yeah or like pick a favorite kind of like that right we did discuss about that we did yeah I think the long story short is we feel also the pain of trying to find the brawler you want in rank um so long story short is yes we want to change it to be easier we don't know when but there is a lot of solutions that we have in mind for this yeah maybe could part of the bundle of ranked improvements exactly yeah mhm uh oh no I can't read his name uh that is we can beep it out yes yes are you planning to Sol they just put like a a blur on his name are you planning to solve damage inflation the fact that in recent times brers have become capable of doing significant more damage that they than they could before it's destroying game modes like Heist great question um and I think this is very much a heist specific problem like the time to defeat someone is actually quite consistent from before because we of course Health pools have increased and defenses as well but Heist is the one thing that hasn't yeah so we do have again Solutions in mind I can't share any of them right now but yes it's on our radar from YouTube now um what happened to King Frank ah from bringer of boy of boy what br I was reading the name bring off boy yeah so what happened to King Frank he's uh Alive and Kicking like there's not right across from me there's uh yeah let proper explain there's there's nothing nothing nothing to tell you about it yet uh King Frank and The Clash Royale pins are waiting to be released in a certain way um we thought that that moment would come much earlier than it will uh since here we are since a few updates and it's still unreleased but yeah we have we have a plan for for the skins and the pins it just hasn't happened yet yeah things sometimes take a little bit longer than you expect and where we're just a bit too fast with the content a good problem to have it's a good problem I think it's a good problem waiting for ah there's a message for us the Comm managers if they read thank you so much for the efforts with the community this podcast so amazing for better understanding how the game is actually going on behind the scenes it's great to have drew on the team awesome shout out to Drew tell him that I love that I love how has been doing on bro talks cool man now I feel that I need to read other questions fear a uh when we will use Swap and Hyper chge ever we would why would you think so yeah who in the right mind would you know we do it only for ready like ready will have a special game can I have like a special build yeah absolutely no worries my my delusion build uh run set are there any plans for a new rework for Mega Pig not a rework maybe some improvements but maybe more Club activities right yes uh it is Kika uh what is the most hated brawler how can we measur yeah how could you yeah like the least played I guess yeah but like sounds more like a personal thing right yeah personal what do you like what is your what what is for you guys H I think like tick has got to be up there like really I I just like I I'm just thinking about the amount of like frustrating experiences and I feel like I would put tick in there just in general like you know because there's a lot of matchups where it's just annoying to have to deal with or or you're like too squishy and it starts actually dealing a lot of damage to you um I I think other very close calls would be uh Mo I think in I I love Mo but I think in certain matchups it's like what do you do and kit has that Vibe sometimes too yeah probably Mandy for me honestly which is like you know a get good moment but but I just find it so unengaging to to play against a brawler where the entire play style is I'm going to sit off your screen and just kind of M toss shots wherever I think you're going to be and like dude just just play the game fight me here's Manny sniped away I feel like from a balance perspective or or if it happens with bugs it's got to be Willow for sure the The NeverEnding pool of of issues that's Adrian's most hat yeah no it's not actually but you you go next okay I don't know I think mik is a good great candidate especially because I like Piper or Mandy and then like when that freaking monkey comes at us like ah what can I do like then you have to time your attack exactly and then if you miss like yeah I'm dead I mean if I answer this I know it's going to be used against me forever right but I must say like any good Rico player on the enemy team makes my blood B because I'm getting beat by math right it's geometry that's beating me and that feels horrible not only like yeah that's yeah Rico for me how about you Frank I I wouldn't like there's there's really not not a roller I hate in principle I think but but there's for sure some Brawlers I don't like to play against depending on the circumstances like I think one one standard for me is Bill actually because like when you play with randoms ah yeah and and you're like you know you you play a low hit point braw maybe and then your randoms keep wanting to be very very close to you hug yeah give you a hug and you know like I it's like it's infuriating maybe not so much because of bell yeah well because of the randoms but so your most hated brawler is bad randoms yeah fair enough fair enough um being TI guy uh question about spal make what are you actually looking for a for in a skin because I've noticed that sometimes the winning skin concept will be twed slightly when added into the game just want to know what makes one skin better than the rest yes so purple is very no um yeah so like we actually like when we are picking the finalists we have like always like um what is it a bit of like most voted sking so like SKS that vote for the community usually purple and then the other ones like are picked by me and the artists so like they pick the ones they really like so like there is actually like a balance of like uh things that we really like personally and then things that the community voted for and then we put those four as like the final voting for the community and then that's basically uh then this is dictated by uh by voting it's like the the highest number of vote gets into the game it's like the the times that we actually changed the schem it was because we are not CH uh the final voting was with the original concept now we are already redrawing the way that feels more braw and then um so then once you vote for the sking to win it won't change anymore so like it was only like in the past where we're not like actually redrawing all the skin before they go to the final voting then before they go to brawl we just like adapt how they would be better for the game which is usually like toning up the colors or making more Vivid or like making the shapes more toy like a bit more round not like super um square or things like that like I think the last one that happened was Fang and then after that we were redrawing all the finalists before it go it goes for the final voting yeah often there's simplification needed like like normally our our skins are like they have a specific language when it comes to you know the lines and like how they just come together without too much detail and a lot of Concepts have too much detail even like that's not happening with only with fan artists by the way that also happens internally when someone is creating a concept or like one of our Partners creat a concept that we have to quite often you know go back and forth until we find the final thing so it's not just with fan artist we cannot do that the same way we cannot take their time that much so so we do it ourselves and get because we normally then end up liking those designs right we think they're there m so it's just yeah a step in between cool no error is it possible to add a game mode where the New Balance changes or brers will be available for play testing to get enough data for the Casual player base from the Casual player base on how fair the changes are and how balanced the new brothers are so basically like a test build so this is interesting so because it says is it possible currently no actually we can't have like two versions of the game in the same game something we want though is being able to add let's say balance changes on the fly so to speak because now as you've noticed whenever we need to make balance changes we should need to have a maintenance for it in a perfect world in the future um I would love to see us being able to do that on the Fly and when that happens this is also possible and I think it's actually a pretty good idea well something that I've noticed lately is um when I load up brawl Stars it says downloading content and I see this happen with other games where you don't need to download an update from the App Store you don't need to go through that layer of approval you can just get the update that way is that one of the systems that would assist with this in the future absolutely yes yeah the thing is we always had content downloads yes it's it's just no we instead of seeing the the bar sitting there at x% or you know you see the number or you don't see the bar moving at all now we tell you the actual you know it's it's it's it's kind of there's not such big of a change there actually it's more like no we're visualizing it slightly different so you actually see that something is happening I see yeah because otherwise you can feel stuck right and when the bar gets stuck and you're like is something happening but now you actually see something happening and especially in hindsight with for the future if we have bigger downloads then then without the bar you're like oh what's happening I'm did my client die whatever so it's like yeah um Diego blea like we uh will be CH will be changed to the mapmaker in 2024 I use it a lot to play with my friends and it's so abandoned there won't be changes to make map map maker in 20124 is like if you you know like in the road map video in the past and in the future we're talking about what's what's our focus and everything that's not mentioned there is not in our focus and map maker even though we actually we're all fans of the map maker we we think it's like it has tons of potential and everything it's also one of these things that it's a fairly big project to do anything with it and when we do something we'd like to do more than just add some some different map elements you know it needs to be something cool to make it more relevant for more people so we we'd love to go back to it but not in 2024 sweet now we got to Instagram questions why does Edgar exist from Savas great question yeah it was before Adrian so it wasn't his [Laughter] fault um I can get you the email address of the original designer forward all of your hate mails here yeah exactly uh zidi uh voice chat coming when never only in the Chinese version yeah it's uh it's it's something we've we've toyed with the idea a few times already but it's easier said than done voice chat is very complicated in China it's relatively easy you have one language one language to monitor the same people people are identifiable in China you know you can only have one account so it's it's like there's a lot of security security for players in in in China when it comes to voice chat in the rest of the world this is much more complicated you know like we we have like so many different languages we support in the game it's complicated yeah audience yeah the the Comin the issue is basically young audience plus so many different languages it's like and and then you know like you you need to have some sort of monitoring to make this work and moderation to make this work and it's that's very very complicated now we we're getting into a time where actually AI is is becoming more of a viable solution to help us with this problem but again it's like easier when you have like just one language to cover and much harder if you have like 12 15 20 you know our players don't even care how many languages we have in the game they might still talk in whatever language they speak so it's a yeah it's super complicated player safety super important for us and that comes first and as long as we don't have a good answer on how we would moderate we won't release it are those the primary reasons it's not in the game or is there also just um perhaps from like an artistic standpoint for the game no no no artistics has nothing to do with it it's just you know like if you played other games with voice jet you know how how toxic it can be uh we have a lot of young players it's our job to protect them from stuff like this of course you can say hey just have voice chat just for 16 plus but that's also kind of yeah a mess solution yeah and and so right now you know we rely on players who really want to be in voice chat to be in Discord to have FaceTime running in the background whatever it is and we know all players are doing this so it's like yeah in a perfect world we could have voice chat but that's a perfect world that assumes that nobody has ill intent and and that's unrealistic to expect so first we need to have a solution for that and if we find a solution and that's a big if then we would have potentially voice chat yeah think the amount of people that like get scammed already like adding voice chat would just like make that so dangerous um next question is from Ahmed is there any chance that some fans who make things for the game like uh ping Kings Brothers to be hired uh like long shot is not that's not the best way to be hired of course like presenting your portfolio and everything like we have a careers page that you can go there and uh actually apply for the job but we do have like um a couple of fun artists that we are actually they are working with us true gamer yeah true gamer we have Dodges King and Cat Cat poke doing Concepts um PD uh Piper daa Piper de Prim yeah the the artist uh they're also doing like profile pictures and everything moros Mor on the map side so well these guys they were like fun uh were doing like the is it brow scens was the name of the project yeah oh yeah yeah it's like he was doing that already and like hey do you want to cast our official stuff so basically like yeah if you're a passion you can work on that and then you make your portfolio out of the things you love but I think it's very rare that this happen like we H maybe like six people out of like millions of players and millions of people who do F out yeah you have to be the best and you also have to be very lucky it's an intersection of those two things in our case we got lucky that we were in the right place at the right time but we did the right steps to be there but you were also good also quality has to be good it's not all right don't sell yourself short but yeah there is a career page like if you want to apply and you want to work here then you just go there and see if there's the you have the requirements but but a better way if you really want to get in the games industry is actually to you know either study in a field that gets you closer there um and then to work on on in in gaming companies in general and most people don't start in a company like supercell yeah yeah that's that's like it's it's also like most of us started in smaller companies and you know in Indie Studios and whatever so there's there's no one path to this but it's very very rare and exceptional that you will be hired inside the company from being a fan artist yeah so so it's almost because it's like you're probably fulfilling a niche of a certain things you're really good at but when we hire artists for example on the inside our expectations are very very high and so then need to have like tons of experience and this goes beyond art right it goes be you need to be a professional can you deal with feedback can you communicate can you organize structure you know it's also technical right like integrate this into the game so for it's many together and like draw you don't want to necessarily you're not always you're not always in love with exactly what you're doing there you still need to be professional some people need to draw Edgar so that is true someone did that I I don't think anyone Vol I think someone volunteered actually to give a glimpse of um how Dy and Cat Cat poke got hired like they they are like they do skin Concepts and then in make they always like release like 10 or eight submissions and all of those submissions were like top 10 it's like they had something that they get what the community want right it's like and then they really good quality so like hey what you like to work on the official SKS but yeah um UGA Mark why is the reason to delete boxes why did do that we delete boxes I can answer quickly because we already talked on the first podcast maybe but I think we had a vision that like we would believe that if you know exactly what you're going to get and you just grind for it would be a better award for the player and for us right so we would like get results from that because everyone will be excited about it and um we were wrong very wrong and you can see like on the day you graph like that's when we remove boxes that's when the game start like uh decrease or like underperform uh but there reason that because it came from the complaints of like I never get the brw I want like and good things came from that right so the Star Road where we can actually have some Agency on the BR you collect came from this thought but then we just added star drops to still have this um exciting reward or the chance of having something very excited yeah in the end but uh yeah we we fail on the The Vision we had we were wrong uh why was mag reworked uh few times yeah she was unpopular uh people didn't like how she played now people like her more good why H wait goo Satur and then Mora 3D why is Frank bald that's an interesting story that's an interesting story long time ago you know long time ago oh no when many of you were not even alive uh youth truly when was on the military and um and so that's like more than 20 years ago and you you know in the I like luscious nice hair a little bit like these fine gentlemen here around me not not as much as Danny and uh you know we spent a lot of time in the forest and exercises and stuff like that and you know like spending 3 weeks in a forest with lushous nice hair without a proper shower is really not great so I decided to shave my hair to the minimum lot length in the German military back then I'm not sure if it's still like that was 6 mm so I cut it down to 6 mm and I got used to it and uh not long after I left the military I still did the 6 mm thing I started going to 3 mm and then I was like ah now it's time to wet shave what if I wet shave exactly and so yeah I started liking it and I like myself with it here we are more than 20 years later I love how much attention we gave to these questions you're welcome everyone well now we all know the lore origin story priorities you know finally some lore what do you think of Brazil and the players who play braw stars I picked this question because I like Brazil no bias whatsoever do you want to answer it in Portuguese n no maybe just like but uh I think I like Brazil I think they're very passion of people uh like the sports in Brazil like it's so crazy like you see like the the players doing all those crazy stuff like they Spider-Man or they always try to put like some costumes and things and they are very what is it not emotional but like passionate passionate about the things they do uh but then the passion goes also to the other side because like anything that like if you feel like when we relas for example I King to Piper no no to the the Harvest Moon Festival for Mandy they like ah why you doing that for Korea we Brazilians need more representation and they're like man there's like many countries in this world like like we can do this reference here and there we don't need like to always every time we have asking for some country we have also in Brazil but then we did do the carnival what is it flag bearer Piper mhm because we do think they Reserve their representation and then I was how involved I was I think someone just said like what do you think and say yeah that that's my was my contribution to my country proud of you D that was from Edo Lopez but yeah it would be it would be I think like when whenever we see like like streams from Esports events in in Brazil I mean like the the passion is just undeniable and it's just really cool to see but I would I would love us to be at some point in Brazil and and have an event can I say that but we are going to be in BG bgs Brazil game show is said so yeah I mean we brawl Stars if you want to go you can go but so yeah there there's that and also something I'm not sure how widely that is known but we have a bunch of Brazilians on the team what so so yeah you know like this Fernando is creating the characters who was on one of these podcasts she's obviously from Brazil and we have a bunch of other Brazilians on the team who who work on bra stuff all the time yeah cool uh Miguel 13 why did you remove the hypercharge event could it come back in the future good question why did we remove it we removed it because it wasn't fun it's like it it delivered the goods but people really just played it to to get the goods and that was not the reason why we made it in the first place so for us it was like Hey this could be a really cool engaging moment for everyone yeah where you can try out the new hyper charges and you can have fun with it and you can experiment you know uh didn't happen but it wasn't so that's why we stopped them yeah and then as we said before like now we get those opportunity of giving resources and then we put in the community events where we actually drive more players and like we make a bigger deal out of that so the hypercharge event wasn't doing anything for us mhm and also what creating creating problems like I think the the last change uh we did didn't work but when we did work we didn't see any results but so I guess the the main point there is even though we removed the event the resources didn't get removed it just they just got switched to other things yeah we are not giving the helper charge directly yes but we are giving the value like for example right after we did we did this change we did the thumbs up for bra it gave like five legendary start drops on in one goal and then actually it's very very likely that one of those will be a hyper charge um Heavens to evens uh a couple of UI changes I've been curious about could you get a Wi-Fi interrupted Icon by a player's name when they are having connection issues that way we know they are not getting griefing ah they're not griefing they are just getting this uh disconnected interesting it's an interesting thought because it has pros and cons right like it's good for your team to know that someone is DC but it's also good for the enemy team to know that someone is DC I think maybe just the teammates would know yeah I mean yeah you could do that right if it's just the teammates um but it's still would you like to know that yeah exactly would you like to know no but it's an interesting idea I don't think we've actually talked about it too much so it's it's a nice thought is this maybe an area worth exploring or that you guys have discussed before uh the idea of having like more communication that would not be voice chat or text chat just like yeah shortcuts to like swap Lanes rette yeah for sure I think it was really cool I think a while ago in Reddit there was the idea with the pins of like lanes and stuff I think that was really cool but again we have to understand that that's very niche as well like only the more engaged players even know what a lane is as a concept right so we have to think a bit more about that um but yes something would be cool and then the last two questions George valadares what was the point in n hypercharge you could at least make it go through walls I I don't know I mean I thought it was cool to have peep go bigger so you can actually hit it properly um but if you're unhappy with it maybe yeah we should make it go through walls and add some popcorn but I don't know if the the walls would make sense right no I'm kidding but yeah I yeah there is there is other cool stuff we could do with it as well for sure yeah like we actually like on on the note of hyper we we we're looking at how hyper JS perform and one one of the criteria to measure that is like how many people want one of those hyperchargers actually and so yeah yeah and also that's one way and also the way I look at the balance of it is what is the Delta so meaning what is your win rate with the hypercharge on dis brawler versus those that do not because then it's like okay how strong is this hypercharge actually for this brawler and that's a good measurement as well to see like okay is it a perception thing or is it actually a thing mhm and then the last question from Fila ding the next bro talk will be a mermaid again yes please I don't think I will ever be a mermaid again why not wow strong statement is that we end in a sad note oh no please okay okay maybe maybe I can be a mermaid again let's see um but yeah we've been through all the questions thank you so much Teddy thank you so much ready thank you gentlemen guys like to say
