Section A: Sentence Reading

  • Task: Speak the sentence displayed on the screen.
    • The test progresses automatically after each sentence is spoken.
    • Option to click 'Submit Answer' to proceed.
  • Sentences to Read:
    1. Would you like to start your free trial today? 2-13. Generic prompts to read sentences 2 through 13.

Section B: Listen and Repeat

  • Task: Listen to a sentence and repeat it.
    • Each sentence is played only once.
    • The test progresses automatically after repeating each sentence.
    • Option to click 'Submit Answer' to proceed.
  • Sentences:
    • "Please have this piece of chocolate cake I baked last night."
    • "We let the cat out at night."
    • "I take full responsibility for every unanswered question."
    • "No one talks to me like that."
    • "Let's wait a while longer and then decide what to do."
    • "I went to have a cup of tea."
    • "How was your carpool ride?"

Section C: Topic Speaking

  • Task: Speak on a given topic.
    • 30 seconds for preparation.
    • 45 seconds for speaking.
    • Topic example: "Describe your stay at a resort."
    • Notes can be taken during preparation.

Section D: Conversation and Questions

  • Task: Listen to a conversation, then answer questions.
    • Each conversation played once.
    • Questions are multiple-choice.
  • Example Conversation:
    • Discussion between Justin and Tina about a Christmas party.
    • Plans for party arrangements discussed.
    • Key individuals involved in planning are mentioned.
  • Sample Questions:
    1. Details about the organizing committee.
    2. Inferences from the conversation.
    3. Individuals not responsible for caterer/menu selection.
    4. Game idea inspiration.
    5. Inferences about Justin.

Section E: Multiple Choice Questions

  • Task: Choose the correct answer for each question.
  • Questions:
    1. Correct sentence identification.
    2. Antonym for "settled."
    3. Synonym for "distant."

Section F: Grammar Questions

  • Task: Choose the grammatically correct sentence.
  • Questions:
    • Example sentence issues (e.g., "I opened the store on nine a.m. yesterday.")
    • Correct grammatical structures.
