Welcome to Flawless Shoe Reviews. Today we're looking at the Nike Motiva. One of the most unusual shoes that we've reviewed on the channel so far. Has some really good features for some. Some features that some might not enjoy. I'll cover all of these so you have a better idea if it's a shoe that's worth buying for you. So, first of all, I want to take a look at this midsole, which is a waffle type midsole underneath, which you can see this wavy platform, and it's got a really big rocker on it. So a lot of you out there might want a rocker base shoe, but this is positioned slightly differently than what we see in most shoes. So the rocker is very posterior. So it's starts right towards the back towards the heel. And when you initiate contact with the ground, that really feels like it's pushing up into the heel and into the arch of your foot. So it almost feels like a form of arch support underneath your foot. So if you have conditions like panto fasciitis, you may not enjoy this because you'll feel that direct pressure up underneath the heel and the arch of your foot. If you're sensitive around there and might increase the pain that you're feeling. However, if you're looking for a shoe that really rocks you forward to offload the back of the ankle, then this can be an excellent option for you. It's got an excellent forefoot rocker as well, so it really snaps you forward into extension of your knee and propulses you forward in that late stage phase of the gate cycle when you're going to push off. It's got relatively soft cushioning that's quite balanced actually, so you sink into it a little bit, but not too much. It's quite soft at the heel when you initiate contact, and then that extra bulk that you feel in the midfoot is a little bit firmer. And then you have less cushion in the forefoot, which assists with that push off phase of the gate cycle. It's got very mild sidewalls on the inside and the outside of the shoe that gives some elements of stability and a little bit of soul flare and a broad base of support underneath the shoe to add some elements of stability. But due to the rocker nature and the soft profile of the cushioning, I definitely classify it as a classic neutral shoe. It doesn't have a huge amount of protection underneath the forefoot. When I went to push off, I could really feel the pressure on the tip of my toe, which is really good if you're looking for a rocker base shoe. But those of you who need some protection under the big toe, you may not enjoy that as well. Loads of space on top, so plenty of width in the toe box. And it was a true to size and length for me. You got a mild to moderately padded tongue on top that's gusseted. And you've got plenty of cushioning around the heel counter. And it's nice and soft. So those of you with any issues with sensitivity around the back of your heel shouldn't have any problems with this. So overall, a really interesting option. If you're looking for a rocker bottom shoe, then this is an excellent fit for you. if you got no sensitivity around the back of the heel. If you do, then this may not be a good option. And we've got some videos on rocker bottom shoes that you might want to check out. Otherwise, a really unusual option. If you like the style of it, let us know in the comment section below.
