Overview
This tutorial explains how to enable Apple Intelligence features on unsupported iOS 18 devices using a tool called Nugget, including device spoofing and setup steps.
Initial Device Setup
- Check that your device is running the latest iOS 18.11.
- Verify that Siri is in its default version without Apple Intelligence integration.
- Temporarily disable "Find My" and "Stolen Device Protection" by entering your account password.
Using the Nugget Tool
- Connect your iPhone to a Windows or Mac system.
- Download the appropriate version of Nugget for your operating system from its official releases.
- Extract the downloaded files and open the Nugget tool application.
- Nugget allows advanced features like model name changes, Dynamic Island, and AI functionalities on unsupported devices.
Enabling Apple Intelligence
- In Nugget, select your connected device, then run an eligibility check for Apple Intelligence features.
- Choose to spoof your device as an iPhone 15 Pro for base device compatibility.
- Obtain the required Gestalt file by using a provided shortcut on your iPhone and saving it to your system.
- Import the Gestalt file into Nugget and apply changes; the device will reboot as part of the process.
Post-Setup Adjustments
- After reboot, re-enter your passcode and reconnect to the network.
- Face ID will be removed and needs to be set up again.
- Device name and ID remain unchanged after modification.
- Join the Apple Intelligence waitlist, which takes 2–3 minutes, then download additional AI model features.
Feature Demonstration
- Enable and configure Apple Intelligence, including features like summarizing notifications and writing tools.
- Use Siri’s new capabilities, such as sending messages, generating stories, and performing web searches.
- Utilize new documentation tools for task automation like rewriting and table generation.
- Expect the device to heat up temporarily while AI models are being installed.
Restoring Original Device Settings
- If issues arise (e.g., with Face ID), use Nugget to reset the spoofed device model back to the original.
- Reapply the Gestalt file and reboot to restore default settings.
