Optimizing Power Surge Build Guide

This is the ultimate run and gun build. Whether you want to top the leaderboards in prime wars or make your experience in endgame silos and dungeons like LEA a breeze, you need to take a look at this crazy power surge build capable of topping out around the 100,000 DPS mark without any extra buffs from consumables or debiants or any debuffs from things like bullseye, and spiking as high as over 180,000 DPS with everything combined. What's up y'all, Hater here and in today's video I'm going to show you an absolute monster of a power surge build capable of dealing insane boss damage, clearing out anything that steps in front of you with ease, and keeping you alive by healing you while you defeat enemies. I've had my eye on this build centered around the Power Surge SMG Outer Space since I got one to drop in the wild a few weeks ago, and I'm really excited to show you just how strong it can be. I'm going to cover everything you need to put this build together, from the weapons and armor with mods, to the best cradle mods, and even food buffs to crank this build up to 11. I've also included a short section later in the video that's timestamped if you want to just look at everything without an explanation. but I recommend watching the entire video, one, because I explain how and why everything works together, and two, it helps me out as a creator. Either way, let's get into it. To start, let's talk about what exactly Power Surge is as a damage type. Power Surge applies a continuous debuff while simultaneously hitting a target with instant damage, the lightning strike effect you see when you're using it. Those lightning strikes deal 50% psi intensity once, and inflict the target with Power Surge status for 6 seconds, reducing their accuracy by 5 seconds. 40. It's a shock element type and the additional damage from power surge can't crit, strike weak spots, and my favorite part will not decay with distance, giving this damage type the ability to be effective at everything from close to long range as long as you're hitting your target. Because power surge damage scales with status damage, the entire build will be set up around maximizing that stat specifically with a supporting cast of stats that will boost your damage even further. As for the build itself, let's start with a weapon that it's centered around, the power surge SMG outer space. It has four weapon features, all centered around the activation of Power Surge. They state that, there's a 25% chance to trigger Power Surge when hitting an enemy, which means you can just run and bodyshot spam to chain constant lightning on enemies or aim for weak spots. Either or or anything in between will keep the same trigger chance for Power Surge. After defeating an enemy, your Power Surge chance is increased by 30% for 12 seconds, meaning the more enemies you slay out, the higher your Power Surge chance will remain. After reloading, again, you'll see an increase in power surge chance, this time a 40% increase for 3 seconds. And lastly, power surge chance is increased by up to 40% based on the weapon's trigger chance. So obviously there are several ways that just by using the weapon as it's intended, you'll be constantly boosting your chances of inflicting power surge. The only things you really need to understand from all that are, one, at base value you have a 25% chance to hit an enemy with power surge, and two, you'll be increasing your chances of seeing more power surge strikes as you defeat enemies and reload. Additionally, this weapon deals suppression damage, meaning it will deal increased damage when using it against Deviants, so be sure to take this with you when you head into LEA or any silos with Deviants. As far as which calibration blueprint you should use, I've found the most benefit from running the Assault style with the 20% extra attack and double elemental damage boost stats. You want to shy away from the Heavy style in most cases as that boosts your mag size, and since the goal is to reload as often as possible while not sacrificing any damage, that takes the Lightweight style out of the equation as well. because even though it reloads incredibly fast you'll lose out on free damage by running the assault style and you don't need to reload quite that often as you'll see when i talk about the mods later on the other two weapons you use in conjunction with outer space are really up to you and your play style whether you want to use another power surge weapon or something with bullseye to debuff your enemies i've honestly been having a blast pairing it with a bullseye sniper bingo despite having to use one i had dropped for me because i haven't been able to afford it with starcrom yet The main reason I started using Bingo, especially with this build, are some of its weapon features and the 8% vulnerability debuff it can apply. The first is kind of a dud in my opinion, unless you're using Bingo as a main weapon, giving you a 70% chance to trigger Bullseye, but after that you can see why it's so good, especially when pairing it with another weapon for single target damage. After switching to this weapon, the first hit will trigger Bullseye, so you'll have Bingo backpacked while you're hosing down trash ads in front of you, and an elite or a boss pops up, swap to bingo hit them literally anywhere weak spot or otherwise and you'll have that 8% debuff for 12 seconds allowing you to then swap back to outer space and deal increased damage additionally bingo grants a 15% increase to weak spot damage for 10 seconds after hitting a target which can stack up to three times and the last perk again is somewhat of a throwaway perk with this setup in mind after defeating an enemy with a weak spot hit you'll get an increase to your attack of 15% for 20 seconds so if you're out clearing mobs of ads you can always whip bingo out to kill an enemy with a weak spot shot to take advantage of that attack buff but to be honest if you're using bingo solely on elites and bosses you'll be just fine as for the melee weapon you could realistically go with anything that benefits from the status and elemental damage you'll be stacking anyways like the frozen northern pike which i paired with my abyss glance frost vortex build but i've been having a ton of fun recently by pairing it with the power surge melee weapon the stun baton with its weapon features light strikes and impacts have a 33 chance to inflict power surge Heavy strikes on targets affected by power surge will deal an additional 50% power surge damage to nearby enemies. Meaning you can use this weapon to bop anything that gets too close for comfort, and deal that lightning damage in an area of effect to any nearby enemies. Definitely a fun option that directly benefits from the rest of the build being centered around status damage and power surge itself. On to the armor for the build, and let's start with the key armor, Mayfly Goggles. This epic piece of armor can be earned for free in-game by pulling the blueprint from the mystical crate in the Mirage Monolith Danger Zone near the spider boss. Its key effect states that Power Surge's trigger count is increased by 1, meaning you'll see 2 damage numbers from your Power Surge every time it hits instead of 1, effectively doubling its damage. Though it also decreases Power Surge damage by 30%. So effectively, you'll see about a 20-30% increase in damage each time Power Surge is inflicted on a target. As for the gear set to use for this build, it should be obvious from the start. Since this is a status-heavy build, you'll want to run a 4-piece Shelter set. While other gear sets like the Heavy Duty can be a great bargain option that doesn't require Starcrom to earn, Shelter offers the best benefits for status builds, so that's what we'll be going with. You're going to want all four pieces to boost your elemental damage by up to 30% when it's fully ramped up. That leaves the final piece of armor for the build, and again, based on what you have available or are most interested in boosting for the build, you've got a few options. Lone Wolf will give you a 10% bigger magazine. Heavy Duty will give you plus 10% HP if you find that you're needing or wanting more. Falcon or Stormweaver will give you a 20% reduced cost to rolling stamina. And Savior will give you a minus 20% to your medicine cooldown which would come in handy when you're taking a lot of damage and constantly spamming activators. But the two that I either use or want to add to this build are the one piece Renegade for a 15% boost to your reload speed or the one piece Bastille which gives you a 10% increase to your weapon damage when your health is over 70%. Which, you'll see when we get to the mods, will be almost all the time. For now I use one piece of the Renegade set since the reload speed directly ties into one of the mods for this build. For all the mods in this build, you're going to want to prioritize a few things, mainly status and elemental damage. The damage against great ones, elites, and normal enemies can more or less be whatever you want, but if you're using this against bosses, obviously you'll want to prioritize boss damage, and likewise, if you're using it to clear out easier enemies or elites, you'll want that stat boost. The main things that you'll want to avoid are any sort of crit chance or crit damage mods, since you're going all in on status damage. On outer space itself, you're going to want to use Static Shock with a Power Surge affix, cutting Power Surge duration in half. bringing it down to 3 seconds but increasing the damage by 20%. This will also make sure you have a flat power surge damage attribute effect in the first column, meaning you could also get status damage to roll on it as well if you're lucky, unlike me. I've gotten tired of farming the treant boss for the perfect mod so this is the one I've settled on for now. On bingo, I always recommend the vulnerability amplifier to give you an extra 8% debuff on your bullseye on top of the already 8% you get intrinsically. Aim for weapon or weak spot damage and damage against great ones or elites. and on the stun baton i like to double dip on the aoe power surge the weapon can apply by using the mod shock diffusion to apply the power surge debuff to enemies within 5 meters of your target when applying power surge. This just makes it so that either your light or heavy attacks can have an area of effect on surrounding enemies if you're needing to bop something that gets too close for comfort. As for the armor mods, on your helmet you'll want deviation expert. It will give you a plus 10% fire rate and plus 20% status damage, and power surge has no range drop off for its damage, so losing 25% of your range is a non-issue. Thunderclap is by far the best mask option for damage, stating that after triggering power surge 20 times, the next hit summons a celestial thunder aka a big light. lightning bolt that deals 200% of your psi intensity. This one here is perfect for mobbing and mine rolled with the power surge affix so I was able to double dip on boosting power surge damage. Definitely one to look out for. On your chest piece, rejuvenating is the MVP for keeping you alive while you're tearing through whatever's in front of you, healing you for 15% of your health every time you get a kill so long as your HP is above 60%. This mod is the king of keeping you in the fight without having to use activators or deviant healing since you'll be killing things so quickly you'll constantly stay topped up on health. I farmed the Theta silo forever for this role with Talents, again so I can double dip on both elemental and status damage. You can also swap this out for a Blue Flame Resonance mod when focused on a boss fight that doesn't have a ton of adds around to clear to keep your health up. Onto the Pants mod, and this is where we focus on our reloading buff to our damage. With the Status Amplification mod, when you reload when your magazine is empty, your status damage is increased by 10% for 12 seconds, stacking up to 3 times for a massive 30% increase to status damage. If you're chewing through ammo and reloading all the time, or in a focused damage phase on a boss, you'll constantly have this buff maxed out. On your gloves, ideally you want the status enhancement mod for its flat 20% increase to status damage, but if your mod RNG sucks for this slot like mine does, you can always just use a good elemental overload in the meantime. Lastly, the boots mod is a no-brainer, as covered advance gives you the easiest to proc and largest buff to both weapon and status damage for 30 seconds, so long as you don't take damage for 4 seconds. Again, if you don't have a good version of this, So you can always opt for a blue flame resonance mod. Onto the cradle and the cradle mods are all pretty self-explanatory. Status enhancement will increase your status damage by 25% for 3 seconds after hitting a weak spot. Transient impact will increase your power surge damage by 25% for 3 seconds after triggering power surge. First round blast boosts your power surge damage by 25% for 4 seconds after reloading. Tactical Combo boosts weapon damage by 25% for 4 seconds after either reloading or switching weapons. Automatic Weapon Enhancement increases your damage by 20% for using an SMG. Deviation Master gives you plus 50% damage when you have your Deviant out alongside you. Master Tactician gives you a 25% increase in damage against bosses for 15 seconds after you use a tactical item. And lastly, Rapid Aid both reduces the cooldown of your medicine, aka your activators, by 30% and gives you an extra 15% from their healing effect. Now since you're using the rejuvenation mod to keep your health up anyways, you can swap this mod out for sprint to increase your movement speed by 5% and reduce your running stamina cost by 15%. Lastly for the food buffs. As a reminder, you can't stack multiple of the same type of buff, meaning you can only have one food buff and one drink buff, not including stacking stamina from canned food. If you didn't know, you can eat a canned food with a plus 40 stamina buff and then another with a plus 25 stamina buff and combine them together. though this probably isn't working as intended and I would imagine it will get patched out eventually. These are the best food buffs to use with this build. The Whimsical Drink is a flat 25% increase to status damage for 30 minutes and really the only drink you'll need if you're wanting to max your damage output. For the food though you have three different options. If you're constantly applying Bullseye to a target then the Mixed Fried Hotdog will boost your damage to enemies affected by Bullseye by 20% which is great to pair with Bingo. If you just want a flat damage increase against a boss, you can use the Bone-In Deviated Sausage for a 15% increase against only bosses. You can pair this with the 8% debuff from Bullseye and do huge damage. And lastly, if you just want to turn your brain off or are just speed clearing things like silos, chasing perfect mods that will never drop, the Shellfish Meat will apply a 5% vulnerability debuff to anything you shoot with any weapon to include outer space for 10 seconds. And that's pretty much everything you need to know to put this insanely strong Power Surge build together. together. Here's a quick overview for anyone who either skipped ahead to avoid listening to me yap about the build. If you made it this far, I just want to take a second to thank you for watching the video. If you enjoyed it or plan to use this, then let me know down in the comment section below and don't forget to like the video and subscribe for more once human builds and videos. I was honestly surprised to see how well this SMG performed and have used it in everything from solo pro silo farming to duo runs of LEA and I plan on using it in a solo run here soon. I've even used it in every available tier of prime war to constantly top the damage leaderboards and plan to take it into nightmare mode when that drops as well now that this build is put together short of chasing a few perfect mods i'll be looking to make an unstable bomber build though i haven't decided if i want to go full send on status damage with jaws and the 4p shelter set or try my hand at finally giving lone wolf some Either way, I'm having a ton of fun putting these builds together, not only because it makes my time playing Once Human a blast, but also because I want to help as many other players find that perfect build that complements their individual wants and needs. If you're wanting to chat and I don't happen to respond to your comments, feel free to join my Discord, or if you're looking for a big Once Human community to be a part of, I also have our community Discord, The Lighthouse, linked below. That's it for me, I'm done, I'm out, and I'll see y'all in the next one.
