Settings in Revit Software
Some settings are necessary after installing the Revit software.
It's important to set up templates and families.
Revit Version Difference
Example: Revit 2020 version is used.
The welcome screen in newer versions is white, while in older versions, itтАЩs gray.
Program Data Folder
In the C drive, Program Data folder contains files for AutoDesk's Revit.
This folder is hidden, use View > Hidden Items to show it.
Template and Family Files
After installing Revit, templates and families can be found in C Drive > Program Data > AutoDesk > RVT 2020.
If not found, download and install from Autodesk's website.
Starting a New Project
Click on New and select templates: Architectural, Structural, etc.
You can select the Default Metric Template.
Permanent Settings for Templates
Go to Manage > Project Units and set your metric units.
For permanently setting templates, go to File > Options > File Locations.
Add or remove the Default Metric Template.
Loading Families
Click on Load Family and navigate to C Drive > Program Data > AutoDesk > RVT 2020 > Libraries.
Choose the Indian library and view family files.
For permanent settings, set a path in File > Options > Places.
Additional Settings
In Manage > Additional Settings, set temporary dimensions.
Configure opening settings for doors and windows.
Ready for Drawing
After all necessary settings, you are ready for drawing.
