Defeating Sword Saint Isshin Guide

so you made it back to the start where everything began you can take down can Ichiro but then his old man crawls on out of them he's on a completely different level it's throwing out perilous attacks he has crazy weapon arts if you somehow get to face two Yanks a pistol out of his ass and a gigantic spear no idea where he pulled that from and then somehow you get past all that you get to Phase three and he's sitting in the face of lightning bolts and that's a lot of [ __ ] for a four phase boss you don't think you can do it you're using up all your consumables there's almost nothing left and that's how you found this video it's okay I was there once too we're gonna get through this together welcome to the get good guide for sword st. oisin now before you jump into this boss fight there's a couple things you're gonna want first off healing items obviously she dad Gordon pellets but you're also gonna want to bring along either rice sticky rice balls or frozen snow in addition to that I would suggest having some divine grass on hand as this is the final boss there's no need to hold back at all regarding healing addition to that you're also going to want knockos sugar I would suggest using one at the start of each in space one the startup phase two and the startup phase three Guinea churro doesn't deserve sugar as for prosthetic tools I would suggest having the umbrella it doesn't matter if you're using suzaku's Phoenix's or loaded but since suzaku's does some fire damage we're going to be going for that lastly for your combat art I would suggest you either run with high monk or itchy one G double G 1 G double is gonna be a little bit of a safer option since it's gonna restore posture but running with high monk will allow you to super punish any sweep attacks that come your way which is gonna be especially effective during Genichiro and phase one of eachine Kenichi was mostly identical but he has a few new things the mortal blade attack just get behind and hit him in the head for his perilous sweeps still jump and bounce on the head or do high monk you can still Meharry the long trust you can still Meharry the short thrust and the one new thing is sometimes after the overhead he'll instead go into a blade combo which you should deflect and he'll follow it off with a thrust which you can out of the sword st. he has a short-range thrust which he should Meharry counter as soon as you see the kanji symbol show up moving on from there he also has a knock back thrust as for this one weight roughly one second after you've been knocked back and as the kanji starts to disappear pit material as first perilous sweep you can actually just circle around to the left and ball come on the head alternatively if you can deflect the first attack you can jump and then bounce off the head and then we have my personal favorite deflecting the first hit and then styling on his ass with high monk for a buffalo to posture damage as for dealing with his at you mangy just walk behind him and give him one of your own as for phase two his main thing is gonna be a perilous thrust you can work this into just about any combo you want to press the bun right when you see the spear begin to come back from overhead he also has a pair of sweep but in about five different attempts I couldn't get him to replicate this move besides this one instance looking at the animation to slow down though you should be able to jump right over it and bounce off his head as for other difficult attacks the first I wanna touch on is the big overhead slam he does with the spear anytime you see this coming if you're close you should go behind otherwise you can dodge behind then you can follow up with the inch emoji for easy damage outside of that he also likes to do a retreating slash if you're fast though as soon as he jumps you can actually dash forward and go for a counter hit and hit him every single time he does this moving on to the webinars you're gonna see a comedy here the umbrella every single weapon art he does you can simply pull out the umbrella and just tank the damage and not worry about a thing if you're close enough you can also go for the follow-up attack if you have that ugly and lastly moving into phase 3 he gains access to lightning which of course we counter out with lightning return some are do can eat you out jump when you see the kanji disappearing and then hit r1 to centered on back this works for the regular slash she does as well as the vertical one he does now that we've covered everything the boss has happened store it's time to take down the sword Saint as a last reminder when it comes to combat arts it's really gonna be pure preference in terms of what you should run well I think the Itchy Munchie double is gonna be a great choice in both phases two and three of each in because you can punish that be spear slam the high monk in particular is gonna be great for both Kenichi row and for eachine phase one because they like to favor sweeps anyway let's jump into it and imagine going through all that breaking someone's posture only to do nothing at this point you really shouldn't take any damage against a teacher like honestly I'd recommend just practicing getting zero over and over until you can basically flawless his ass either follow them or take a tiny tiny bit of damage because he's essentially your Emma in this encounter anyway after this one thing I'd recommend before you start messing with the eachine is actually go all the way over here fighting them in these read some of the reads are kind of high and I think it makes it difficult to see exactly what moves he's going to do fight him over here where it's a lot more open all in all makes the encounter much much easier I go for a sheen across you almost never see that this is why we run I'm uncle basil look at that posture already [Music] is ones done now as for phase two as long as you can stay on them it'll actually take them a while to pull out the spirit so just keep wailing away build up his posture while you can getting the damage that you can we're actually gonna swap up bears the spirit not a problem will reapply ACOs oh my god only have one office left that's fine even though I recommend dodging that you can deflect it as well you're gonna heal back on up make sure you got ample distance [Music] [Music] as you can see the double the the itchy bungee there it's not a guarantee on the follow-up attack every now and then you'll get a double posture break but if you want to be completely safe you can always just do one attack you don't have to eat the second I'm greedy so hence I don't care even if he's hitting me I'm balking as posture [Music] that's gonna be it for phase two didn't even get to do any of his fancy weapons arts phase 3 is honestly easiest because now you can just absolutely abuse him using lightning reverses on old man Oh oh and don't have failed my dodge there oh well do a big attack do a big attack do something there we go good boy and you can see how careful I wasn't my spacing it's very much about just keeping up where your spacing is knowing what he's gonna do you know at the end of the day as hard as he's boss to seeing they're programmed depending on if you're close far away or at a medium distance will determine what type of moves they're going to do as long as you keep the appropriate distances you can continually bait them into doing stupid [ __ ] which will allow for easy materi counters or alternatively easy lightening reversals so either way guys that is going to wrap it up on the get good guides I may do one more episode looking at some of the more difficult mini bosses but we'll see I'll take maybe a day off before we consider knocking something like that out but either way with that sword st. eating is done and you are now a prestigious member of the get good Club thanks for coming on by and I'll catch you guys next time
