Animated GIFs are a great way to add animation without a video file.
PowerPoint supports the insertion and use of animated GIFs.
Steps to Insert an Animated GIF
Accessing the Insert Tab
Go to the
Insert
tab in PowerPoint.
Choosing Pictures
Select
Pictures
option.
Browsing for the GIF
Locate the animated image file stored on your computer.
Inserting the GIF
Insert the GIF onto the slide.
Manipulating the GIF on the Slide
Click and drag to reposition the GIF.
Resize the GIF just like a normal image.
Viewing the Animation
Animated images won't show their animation until in
Slide Show Mode
.
In Slide Show Mode, the GIF will loop its animation continuously.
Animation Settings
PowerPoint does not allow changes to how many times the animation plays.
Set the looping option when saving the animated GIF using apps like Photoshop.
PowerPoint follows the metadata of the image file for animation settings.
