guides but they do take a lot of time to make so if you find this one helpful then hit in that sub subscribe button is the best way to say thanks and it helps us keep creating more videos like this okay now before we begin let's tackle those confusing TV names now they do look a little bit complicated at first but actually if you start to break them down they can really help you understand the different models a little bit better so if we take this example QE 65 s95 DDA so straight away we could ignore the QE at the start and the da at the end which are usually specific for retailers the 65 refers to the screen size in inches so 65 in in this example the S stands for the panel Tech so s is OLED Q is qled and qn is Neo QED now the 95 is where it sits in the range the higher the number the better the TV and the D tells us that this is a 2024 model C would be a 2023 model now the only exception is the crystal UHD models which switch things up by putting the D for 2024 at the start so let's take a closer look at the Samsung lineup for 20 24 now there are a lot of models which is great is we have lots of choice but it can be a little bit overwhelming knowing where to start so firstly the range can be split into four main categories Crystal UHD qled OLED and then Neo QED which features 4K and 8K models the range goes from entry level to Flagship with the performance stepping up as you go up the range however it's worth noting that Samsung don't position their oleds and 4K neq leads as one being better than the other rather they have a dual premium approach meaning both are top tier panel types and choosing between the two comes down to your requirements now Samsung also has their lifestyle TVs as another TV category and these models are designed to blend into your space with a less traditional look so we enter the lineup with the crystal UHD models but I'm not going to spend too long on these as they're very much the entrylevel TVs and fairly easy to understand these are all LCD models using Samsung's Crystal processor 4K and have a tisen smart platform which we see in all models in the 2024 range Pros for the crystal uhds are that they're budget friendly and are available in a huge range of sizes from 43 in up to 98 in now I would recommend that you start at the DU 8000 model which offers billions of colors whereas the entry level D7100 has millions it also has a Slimmer design and comes with Samsung solar s 1 remote which is light powered the DU 8500 is pretty much the exact same TV as the DU 88000 with the only difference being the stand design the DU 9000 is only available in the larger 98 in though this is the most affordable solution for a big screen from Samsung for those that are interested okay on to the qled models which Step Up from Crystal UHD with better colors higher brightness and improved contrast now if you have the budget this is the best place to start in the lineup qled stands for quantum based LED and essentially these are LED TVs enhanced with Quantum dots now Quantum dots are tiny particles that emit different colors of Lights enhancing both the color accuracy and brightness of your picture Samsung have played a big role in popularizing the use of this technology in TVs their qled models are super flexible as they perform well in most lighting conditions offering a wide range of sizes and still come in at a decent price point now we have three models in this category which Step Up in performance as we go up the range so we kick off with the q60d which uses the same crystal processor 4K as the previous models but offers 100% color volume with the addition of quantum dots available in a wide range of sizes this model features a slim design a boundless screen with a minimal bezel around the edge and an adjustable stand we also have Samsung's dual LED technology which uses both warm and core LEDs to light the TV and Quantum HDR which works to bring out more details in Darker areas of a scene than a conventional UHD the q60d is a popular model in the lineup and the most affordable option if you want to benefit from Quantum dots without forking out for a more premium TV the q70d sees a step up in performance thanks to its upgraded Quantum processor 4K the processor is essentially the brains behind the TV and controls the picture and sound quality now this Step Up introduces AI technology to the range which is a big buzzword for TVs this year so your content is autom atically optimized to look and sound better in your space plus we have 4K AI upscaling to give you the best picture quality from non 4K content another notable Improvement is a faster refresh rate which means that you'll see an improvement in picture quality especially in fast-paced content the q70d also features motion accelerator 120 HZ meaning gaming will be much smoother and more responsive on this model plus we add free sync premium which reduces screen tearing and stuttering for a better experience on next gen consoles we also switch up to a center stand design with this model the q8d benefits from another step up to Samsung's most intelligent AI processor on a qled TV the nq4 AI Gen 2 processor is four times faster than the processor in the q70d and has 2 and 1 half times more AI neural network so the TV can optimize both the picture and sound more effectively a big upgrade for the q8d is the use of direct feray technology this is where the LEDs are directly behind the screen and are controlled by dimming zones which provide more control over the picture that you see essentially this technology just offers more precise backlighting brighter whites and enhanced contrast for gamers we have the same solid features as the previous model including four HDMI 2.1 ports supporting 4K 120 frames per second vrr and a llm but we do step up to free sync premium Pro which works with HDR or high dynamic range for better visuals we also see the introduction of Dolby Atmos with this model too now for me this is a great TV in the lineup that is often overlooked but what you get with the q8d is a decent allround package for a pretty affordable price so as I mentioned at the start of the video Samsung have a dual premium approach with their oleds and 4K Neo qleds both are premium options and it will depend on what you're after as to which Tech is best for you so first of all I think it helps to really understand the differences between the tech so Neo Q Leeds are an evolution of Samsung's qled TVs and performance enhancements come down to how the panel is lit the key Improvement is the introduction of mini LED technology alongside quantum dot technology now where qled models use regular LEDs Neo qleds have tens of thousands of smaller mini LEDs with an increased number of LEDs these TVs have more precise control over local dimming which reduces something called blooming where you might see a Halo of light around a bright object on a dark background overall Neo Q Leeds offer a significant step up from qleds for brightness contrast and color accuracy OLED which stands for organic light emitting diodes has been a bit of a buzzword in the TV world for several years now now these TVs offer a very different solution to neq Leeds is they don't rely on a backlight instead every pixel in an OLED screen emits its own light and color this gives control over individual pixels which can be completely turned on and off to produce pure blacks and impressive contrast now typically OLED struggle to get as bright as traditional LED based screens though new technology has helped to really close the gap in recent years both panel types offer exceptional color accuracy and are great for a variety of content from films to sport to gaming oleds have the upper hand when it comes to contrast and blacks with the ability to completely turn off individual pixels and tend to be the recommended choice for darker rooms and more cinematic viewing now they ALS Al offer better viewing angles while LEDs including neq Leeds tend to have a sweet spot in the center however LEDs have the edge when it comes to brightness and the addition of mini LED and Quantum dots in Samsung's neq Leeds take that even further OLED Tech is always improving for a brighter picture but Neo QED would be the way to go if you have a particularly bright light space okay let's take a closer look at the models then and we're going to start with the oleds and once again there are three core options ranging from good to better to best Samsung have added a new entry-level model in their lineup this year which is the s85d available in 55 65 and 77 in now this model uses Samsung's most intelligent nq4 AI gen2 processor which is the same in all of the OLED and neq models in the range the s85d offers OLED HDR to boost the brightness levels for cleaner whites more perfect blacks and enhanced cont contrast we also have real depth enhancer which is designed to mirror how a human eye processes depth and adjusts the foreground contrast for a more lifelike Picture soundwise This TV has support for Dolby Atmos and Samsung's object tracking light to mirror the action on the screen plus adaptive Sound Pro which uses AI audio processing to optimize the performance for the content and your space for gamers we have smooth 120 HZ gaming with motion accelerator and all the gaming features that we we've mentioned in models lower down in the range this model features a contour design which essentially means that the back looks a bit wavy and has been designed to offer a more visually appealing appearance next we step up to the s90d which offers the widest range of screen sizes in the OLED lineup and new for this year is the addition of a 48 in and 83 in size answering the demand for an OLED under 50 in and a large screen OLED option from Samsung now the s90d introduces quantum dot to its OLED technology though it's worth noting that it's only present in the 5565 and 77 in models and that's because Samsung don't manufacture QD OLED panels in the larger and smaller screen sizes now if you're not aware QD OLED is a hybrid technology which makes the most of the pure blacks and impressive contrast of OLED technology and the added brightness and richer more Vivid colors of quantum dots the s90d also benefits from a step up in performance with upgraded OLED HDR Plus for further improved brightness levels better blacks and impressive depth there's also a step up in spec for gaming with up to 4K 144 HZ motion for PC content as well as support for 4K 120 HZ for Ultra smooth visuals and ultra low input lag for more responsive gameplay Now we move away from the Contour design with the s90d and back to Samsung's laser slim design for a super slim profile and almost no bezel around the screen the design of the s is different to the s85d and is also adjustable to accommodate a soundbar for those without a soundbar there is a step up in Sound Performance and we do benefit from an extra 10 wats of sound output with this model too now it is worth noting that there is an additional model in the lineup the S90 3D which is also available in the same five screen sizes as the s90d the only difference between the two models is the color of the front of the TV and the stand the s90d comes in graphite black with a space Titan stand while the s93 3D comes in carbon silver with a satin silver stand onto the flagship QD OLED TV from Samsung the S 95d and this is a very popular model in their lineup in terms of performance we step up once again to OLED HDR Pro which offers the highest OLED brightness from the brand with the brightest highlights and most impressive contrast for an overall more lifelike more cinematic picture another enhancement with this model is an OLED glare-free design new for Samsung in 2024 essentially it's designed to remove any Reflections on the screen so you could have this in a light bright space or next to a window or even watch late at night with a light on without annoying Reflections one of OLED Technology's biggest problems is screen Reflections and having seen this glare-free design in work at Samsung's launch event I have to say it was pretty impressive another big change with this TV is the design with Samsung's Infinity 1 Design This is an incredibly Slim TV so looks great either on the stand or wall mounted plus it comes with a separate one connect box for you to plug all of your connections into for an even tidier appearance this model also steps up to object tracking sound Plus for a more immersive Sound Performance and has support for free sync premium Pro okay on to the 4K neq Leeds then with another three models to choose from kicking off with the qn 85d which is the most affordable mini LED in Samsung's 2024 lineup and offers a sharp picture with improved brightness and richer blacks thanks to Neo Quantum HDR as mentioned it has Samsung's best 4K processor and it also benefits from real depth enhancer and auto HDR remastering which uses AI to enhance any SDR content into HDR like picture quality this is also a very solid gaming TV with up to 4K 120 HZ motion AI Auto game mode and free sync premium Pro now you might also spot a q 88d model which has the same spec as the qn 85d so I actually reached out to Samsung who informed me that these are the same TVs just certain retailers will get one model or the other next was stepping up to the qn 90d which is available in the widest range of TV sizes of the premium 4K models and it includes a larger 98 in size the model steps up from the Q8 5D by introducing anti-reflection technology techology now this isn't as advanced as the glare free technology in the s905d but it will help to absorb light and reduce Reflections and will improve viewing angles you can expect better detail and contrast with this model too with Neo Quantum HDR plus which will give better HDR brightness richer colors and a more True toli Image this TV also benefits from expert calibration with professional grade color calibration another upgrade is support for 4K 144 HZ motion for Ultra smooth PC gaming and we also step up to a thinner Neo slim design too again you might spot a Q90 3D model and the only difference between that and the Q 90d is the stand color so we've got black on the qn 90d and silver on the qn 93d the flagship 4K neq Leed model is the best of the best in Samsung's 4K LED lineup and the slimmest model of the three with an Infinity One Design which also means it comes with a one connect box it also has the highest density of mini LEDs for better brightness and contrast and still benefits from the anti-reflection screen we step up to object tracking sound plus and get an extra 10 wats of sound output for an upgraded performance this model also comes with a slim fit cam 2 which you can connect to your TV so you can follow a workout on the screen or use any video apps now if you're after the top 4K LED TV from Samsung this year then this is the model for you above the 4K Neo qleds are three 8K Neo qled models these models still use the quantum dots and mini LED technology but they step up to 8K resolution and it means that they offer four times as many pixels as a 4K TV for four times the detail 8K TVs haven't really taken off yet as there isn't a great deal of 8K content out there to make the most of them and they're still pretty pricey but they do offer an incredible picture and are the flagship LED models in the lineup the 2020 3 qn 700c continues on this year making it a little bit more affordable in the world of 8K TVs plus it offers a smaller 55 in screen size too the qn 700c is powered by last year's neuro Quantum processor light 8K which uses Ai and 20 neural networks to learn an automatically adjust brightness and contrast and upscale non 8K resolution to as close to 8K as possible the q800 steps up to this year's nq8 AI Gen 2 processor 4K with 256 neural networks for optimizing sound and picture based on the room and content plus the upscaling is taken up another level this model also steps up to the Neo Quantum HDR 8K Plus for even higher HDR brightness levels and it boasts the highest density of mini LEDs for more impressive detail for context Samsung state that these lights are around the size of a grain of sand the flagship qn 900d model really is the best of the best when it comes to LED performance from Samsung this year we step up to the nq8 AI gen 3 processor with 512 neural networks for the most intelligent AI processor that Samsung have created to date which gives us a further enhanced performance with more detail and texture Neo Quantum HDR 8K Pro makes this the brightest TV in the lineup with Incredible depth and super fine detail and there is another step up in how well this model can upscale picture quality this TV also benefits from expert calibration with professional grade color calibration design-wise this TV is super premium with an ultra minimalist Infinity Air Design with separate one connect box and a mirror stand which makes it almost look like it's floating on to our last TV then and well done if you've made it this far Samsung's lineup is a little bit of a beast now I mentioned that the brand offer a range of Lifestyle TVs as well as the models that we've already covered and I wanted to highlight one in particular as the frame TV is a very popular Samsung model the frame has been designed to look like exactly that a picture frame and a work of art on your wall it's a premium 4K qled TV but when you're not watching anything it will display your chosen artwork in art mode to help blend in with your space now you can personalize the bezels to look even more like a picture frame designed for your room and a separate one connect box means it will sit flush on your wall Samsung's art store offers a monthly selection of artwork to choose from for free and you can also purchase additional artwork with over 22,000 pieces to choose from or you can simply display your own images using the Samsung smart things app and the colors have been validated by Pantone so the artwork looks even closer to real art with Rich colors and textures a new MATC display absorbs Reflections to remove any glare on the screen so you can watch TV even on a bright day Samsung have also improved the energ efficiency on this year's model so when the TV is put into art mode the dynamic refresh rate will drop down from 120 HZ to 60 HZ and there we have it guys that brings me to the end a massive lineup and plenty of choice so hopefully that's helped you get your head around your options and narrow them down to find the right TV for you now if you are in the UK
