Hi guys, welcome to TechBased. In this video, we're going to talk about how to use Windows Copilot in any region. Basically, Windows Copilot has a limited eligibility right now. It's only available to North America and a few other countries. In this video, I'm also going to show you some things that you can try in North America.
order to get windows copilot after you update to windows 11 moment for update or even windows 11 23 h2 if you're watching this video later and also i'm going to show another method that can automatically launch windows copilot for you the region that you have set on your windows computer won't matter but if you enjoy videos like these please don't forget to leave a like below and also subscribe to the tech base channel with the notification bell activated so that you won't miss any future uploads like this one so let's begin with the video first of all as you can see i'm currently on the release preview channel i'm updated to the latest build which includes the minimum three update features and you'll notice that i don't have windows copilot on my taskbar even if i go into taskbar settings i don't have it well there are a few things that you can try before and after the update first of all you're going to have to open the registry editor open it up and you're going to have to navigate to the following location hd current user software then microsoft then windows shell and then copilot and enter inside bing chat you're going to see here the d word 32-bit value is user eligible double click on it and make sure the value data is is set to 1. Then click on OK. Exit out the registry editor and also you're going to have to open up the Microsoft Store so that you have all your apps up to date. Windows Copilot is based on Microsoft Edge and the Bing chat so you need to have Microsoft Edge updated to the latest version so that you'll be able to get the latest experience with Windows Copilot.
Inside the Microsoft Store, go into library and then click on get updates. Make sure all your updates are done. And finally, you can open up the settings app.
Type in the find a setting section region. go to region settings and make sure that country or region is set to united states and this is what you can do before and after so you have a better chance of getting windows copilot on your windows computer now lastly if none of this worked for you there is a thing that you can do to test out windows copilot without it even showing up in the taskbar just open up the run box windows plus run on your keyboard and then type in the following command basically microsoft edge copilot source taskbar you're going to have this in the article below in the video's description and you can get it from there click on okay and you're going to notice that windows copilot will be opened up automatically and just refresh it here and as you can see it is windows copilot because it is based on microsoft edge and bing chat it won't be able to launch even without it showing on the taskbar or on taskbar settings basically it is mainly based off of microsoft edge so here in windows copilot of course let's happen something so we can see that it works for example open paint let's type in this and it will ask us if you want to open the paint app and it successfully opened the paint app i think this is pretty good and it's working even though we don't have it on our computer so this is a good way of testing windows copilot see what you can do with it for example another thing that we can do we can generate an image generate a blue sky image As you can see now, our image is generating and we also have some suggestions. Add some clouds to the image, changes to a sunset sky, make it more realistic and so on.
So let's see what Windows Scope Out is able to do with our simple description of generating an image. As you can see, these are four images generated by the AI. I think these are pretty good. So basically, this is what you can do in case Windows CodePilot is not available for you. Lastly, as I've said, just run that command in the run box.
You're going to have it in the article below in the video description. And you are going to have Windows CodePilot available on your Windows computer. If you enjoyed this video, please don't forget to leave a like below.
