Hey Guoben here. Today I’ll be going through
the Zenless livestream and all the cool new additions they teased during it. I’m not gonna lie
I was pretty surprised seeing some of the stuff they revealed, like the new character designs.
This video is sponsored by Zenless Zone Zero, but I will be going through stuff revealed in the
stream and my personal thoughts on them. I also won’t be making Zenless content on this channel
outside of a couple videos, so Star Rail only gamers do not worry, and ZZZ gamers go subscribe
to my second channel. Anyway, let's begin. If you don’t know already, ZZZ is
an action RPG made by Hoyoverse, set in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s launching
on July 4th which is just under a week away. The wait has been long after many CBTs, but I feel
like they have polished the game quite a lot, and the stream has showcased yet again more
polish. It’s got satisfying combat and boss fights, a fun overworld experience, and some
real banger music. It’ll be available on PC, PS5, and Mobile on launch, and you
can pre download on July the 2nd. Let’s first talk about the many
rewards we’ll get on release. Remember though that enjoying
the game is the most important. We get a lot of free rewards for doing nothing
except logging in, as well as the usual large amount from playing the game’s launch content.
So let’s go see everything revealed thus far. So on day one, 10 Standard pulls straight
up from the Cunning Generosity event. We also get our pre registration
rewards of another 20 standard pulls, 5 Bangboo banner pulls called
Boopons, and a free A rank Agent, Corin. Make sure to pre register now on the
Zenless website by the way if you haven’t already. We then have a check in event day one
for 7 days for 10 Limited banner pulls. A week later starts another check in event
for another 10 Limited pulls. 20 Limited pulls is a very solid start especially if you plan on
pulling for the first limited unit, Ellen. You’ll have to play the actual game for the rest of the
currency if you want to hit pity on her banner. And then near the end of July we get 10
Boopons in another log in check in event. The Road to Proxy event has 5 stages
with a total of 1600 premium currency, an insanely high 65 Boopons, and 40 Standard
pulls which is just crazy. These account level based pulls happen in other games too of course,
and they are milestones for your account and you’ll have to play the game a lot to get these.
So it looks altogether like we get 80 Boopons, 70 Standard pulls, 20 Limited pulls, and
then at least a multi worth of Polychrome, the limited currency for more pulls. It seems
we’ll get 65 combined pulls without doing a thing though except logging in. I don’t know where Da
Wei’s 20 pulls come into play though. Of course redemption codes will exist too, we’ll be able to
activate them in game on launch. And of course the story will give its rewards like any gacha, and
so will the playable game modes. Achievements, exploration, everything else. These rewards are
all on top of that, they don’t include currency from gameplay or any new events or for example
Hollow Zero’s massive amount of rewards. We should also get actual gameplay events like
we had in the CBTs, so more stuff to come. So with all those Boopons, we can hit the pity
on the Bangboo banner on release. If you don’t know already by the way, Bangboos are little
battle pets we have in combat that can perform chain attacks, give buffs, and other cool things
like violently drill attacking enemies. And then totalling the Standard pulls and we can
also hit pity on the beginner banner very quickly thanks to these and even start working
towards our first pity on the standard banner. Onto banners. We will first be getting
Ellen and Zhu Yuan, and I’m definitely pulling for Zhu myself. Ellen is
paired with Anton and Soukaku, Soukaku being a fantastic pairing for
Ellen. Zhu Yuan is paired with Ben, the coolest character ever, as well as Nicole,
who is another fantastic banner pairing for Zhu Yuan. So it seems whichever character
you want, the A-ranks will not be a pain. We have our lovely beginner banner,
so we will be getting an S Rank unit guaranteed within 50 Standard pulls,
and they are discounted, so in reality it's only 40 pulls. Since we get 30 for just
logging in, and an extra 10 at proxy level 5, this will be a very quick pity. Let me know who
you want from the beginner banner by the way, I’ll be hoping for Koleda or Soldier 11 myself.
After completing the beginner banner we can move onto the standard banner, and in that we
also have the 300 pull selector just like in Honkai Star Rail, where we can eventually
guarantee a standard unit of our choice. For the bangboo banner, an insane quality of life
update was revealed on the livestream. First off, whilst the Bangboo banner is separate,
the currency to pull for them, Boopons, have got a drastic increase in availability
as we see from the rewards. Secondly, you can guarantee whichever Bangboo you want by
choosing your desired Bangboo on the banner and then just pulling. Apparently you can change
this Bangboo at will too. With us being able to hit pity from free pulls, this means we can
easily get our first team setup very nicely. For new characters we got not only tons of new
designs revealed but also a combat sneak peek of the recently drip marketed characters. In
fact it seems Lucy and Piper will be brand new A Ranks joining our base roster, meaning
our starter roster in 1.0 is bigger than CBT3 lead us to believe, and so we are still
expecting new limited units for 1.1. Lucy may also be free based on this image. Now these
two characters are from the Sons of Calydon faction which are a brand new faction. Piper is
a Physical Anomaly unit from what they told us, so she will be building up attacks for massive
Physical Anomaly damage. Since we only have one Anomaly dedicated unit in 1.0 from CBT3 info,
this will be a great addition to the roster. We also ideally want more Supports, and
Lucy luckily is a fire Support unit that has a cool looking kit with tons of cute
little boar things. She seems to buff all Agents but her boars can also be seen attacking
whilst she is off field. Everything returns to OPPA. Both new units will help flesh out team
compositions that were previously lacking. I hope Sons of Calydon maybe get a son unless
that’s the joke, but if not they have a cool thematic going on, and I wanna see the boar
itself from the symbol as a playable character. We saw two new playable characters in the
Section Z faction. We’ve seen Soukaku before, as well as Miyabi, the character so popular she
was kicked from the CBT. Next to them we have a cool pink haired lady with a futuristic sword?
And finally another dude. He is wielding a bow and has a quiver on his back, and a sci fi type
archer could be really cool in game kit wise. The New Eridu Public Security faction, which has
Zhu Yuan, got 3 whole characters revealed. A cat guy? I don’t know the origin of those ears. With
a baton and a riot shield. Probably a defence character. There’s a small girl with a wand
thing or a stun stick, and I don’t know how she got employed as a police officer. And there’s a
woman with the smallest weapon we’ve seen so far, it looks like a karambit knife. And is
that a tail or a secondary weapon? Either way I’m wondering how they will all work in
game, cause the shield character could have some unique combat mechanics, and then I gotta
see what they end up doing with just a knife. The Zenless official account on Twitter tweeted
out some things too and we can see that Hollow Zero and Shiyu Defense, our two endgames,
are still alive. Hollow Zero looks to give not only premium currency, but also Boopons.
Lots of rewards are scattered around here. The endgame modes have a new overworld map you
can now launch from which is really nice, and there’s also a new unknown mode named
Hunt hiding in the right of the tent. New maps were revealed which look stunning
and super vibrant. I can’t wait to see all the new NPCs and maybe cool things to do in these
buildings. Like we already have an Arcade in the starting town where I spent hours trying to beat
people on Snake Duel. We also have a coffee shop for buffs, so I’m excited to see the possibilities
on the new maps. My favourite addition is probably the second floor in the MC’s store, and we now
have a bed. We had to sleep on the couch during CBTs, but I guess pre registration funding now
lets us sleep in beds. And it looks very comfy. One problem I had before was lack
of incentive to explore in the maps, but now we have a lot of incentive. Dopamine
is making me need to complete every task, but we also get juicy pull currency, and we
gotta get that don’t we. I really like that they’re adding exploration so maps feel more
full, and I hope they do add more interactive buildings on top of that so we can really
feel like we’re in a living breathing city. Chatting with agents, inviting agents,
and hanging out with them is very cool to see. For me it adds so much immersion and
extra possible story and interactions. So not only will we get to experience these
character’s story in the main story quest, we can now get even more time with them
personally. I don’t expect or really want dates, but hanging out with characters you pulled for and
like can really add to the experience of a gacha. This concept of additional character stories is
normal in these high quality gachas, but I think the way they are doing it here is really nice for
the game’s style. Apparently we can invite like every playable character that shows up in the main
story line, so lots of possible extra stories. Finally we got some teases for combat
enhancements. We saw the new Bangboos, one being Plugboo, which looks very cute. We
can also see an anomaly buildup meter next to enemies so we can finally tell when Anomalies will
happen without having to map it out. They do seem to flicker between every attribute applied though
which might be a bit confusing. Either way every CBT and now release looks to improve gameplay
and quality of life and understanding of game mechanics, so I’m very happy with that.
The translation may have also teased more stage maps replacing some TV aspects of the
combat game modes, but it’s not confirmed and I’m not sure if that’s what they meant.
The main story having TVs makes sense, but investing more into the playable combat
sides of Commissions could be really cool, and I think if this is true then a lot of
people may have missed this key information. So let me know your favourite
things that they revealed, as well as what you are looking forward
to in ZZZ. See you on release in a week. Make sure to pre register if you
haven’t, and have a guoba day.
