two days ago we had taken a look at the new deep seek version 3 0324 model and let me tell you something this thing is an absolute unit it's an advanced AI model with 685 billion parameters which is fully open- Source under the miit license its performance is significantly better than its predecessor and can outperform Croc 3 GPT 4.5 Gemini 2.0 pro claw 3.7 Sonic and many others which is just insane it's now the highest scoring non- reasoning model that's out there that is open source as well now compared to the original Deep seek version 3 Model this new version brings some major upgrades because it's more executable with its Generations making it better at coding there's enhan front-end designing capable of generating aesthetic web pages and it's also something that has improved function calling accuracy which fixes issues from earlier releases with its deep seek version 3 now I'll be honest with you guys it's not 100% better than CLA 3.7 at everything in terms of coding there are benchmarks that it does out compete it but it's still competitive overall to the 3.7 Sonet and when you factor in the cost it actually becomes a no-brainer to use this new deep seek model which is up to 53 times cheaper than the claw 3.7 Sonet while delivering comparable performance that's why today I'll be showcasing the Deep seek version 3 coder just take a look at the Deep seek model in action generating an interactive website with a single prompt it is able to write 800 lines of code and it didn't actually break once with this generation and it executed everything quite to need to have an IDE in this case I'm going to be using visual studio code and then having the client extension installed within the IDE now if you want you can use a free API from open rouer but with this you might face a couple of rate limits so just keep that in mind I'm going to be personally using deep seeks API and this is something that you can access through their platform and I'll leave a link to this in the description below as well as everything else so simply go ahead and open up your ID once you have it installed and then you can go ahead and install the extension within the extension store search up client and simply click on install and then you will will be able to access it on the left hand panel now what you can do after you open this up click on the settings tab and you can head over to the API provider and say if you're using the free API Provider from open router select this baste in your open router API key and then find the Deep seek uh version 3 model which is the O3 24 free and you will be able to then start generating anything if there is not a lot of people using this API you will get a response back quite quickly and finally got a response back from the free API so to showcase the capabilities of this model we're going to go ahead and have it first generate a modern Sleek AI course website that educates users on various AI topics I'm requesting it to have a dark light mode toggle and homepage a course catalog and an individual course page so it looks like it has started off generating the code and it is going to take some time to generate everything I have it so that it is on auto approv which means client will autonomously execute different tasks such as reading files as well as editing and executing safe commands so let's see what it ends up generating after it is complete with this so it took approximately 6 minutes and 26 Cents to develop this and you can see that this is a pretty nice website it has a nice lining page and if you head over to the courses tab you have a bunch of different courses so let's click on machine learning fundamentals it'll display the video over here lessons that you can learn there's a knowledge check where you can actually submit a quiz which is pretty cool and you can see it did generate the base structure of this app we also had requested it to generate uh the dark mode and you can see this is a pretty nice dark mode it did get the job done and you can see it's functional on most of the pages so this this was actually a pretty decent generation it's nothing too crazy but it got the basic structure of this app generated so it's pretty decent next up I'm going to have it generate an interactive chatbot that looks modern and Sleek so let's see what it ends up building for us so it looks like it has finished generating the front end of this chatbot let's go ahead and open this up and that actually looks pretty decent so this looks like a pretty interactive chatbot I'm going to actually make it more functional by having it linked with an API so that we can get AI Generations out of it so let's see if this is functional let's type in hello and there we go we got a response back we can ask it now how are you and it should respond back and there it is it's stating that I'm just a chatot but I'm functioning perfectly how about you so we can see that it was able to generate this functional chatbot with the dcpi itself and it was able to generate responses back and this took I think about 2 minutes to generate so it's pretty quick in generating this so what I'm doing next is providing the context of this project that I have and I'm asking the Deep seek model to go within that project file and have it so that it could find any sort of errors or suggestions to implement so you can see right now it is trying its best to work on improving the different files that are necessary and what I recommend is you can actually have it so that it doesn't autonomously make all the changes and auto approve when it's debugging cuz you want to look at different changes that are being made by the AI so make sure you toggle this off for this particular use case now in terms of debugging it does a decent job in finding all the errors within different folders in this case it was able to figure out a couple of things that it was able to improve within this code snippet but one thing I noticed is that I don't know if it's the provider but I think it is is kind of slow in terms of its Generations it takes a while to generate most of these things as you saw the app over here took pretty long this chatbot as well as the website that we have over here these things took a pretty long time to generate which is kind of a con for this model cuz it takes a lot of time away from you to develop anything and I think it's better to use something like CLA 3.7 Sonet if you're going to be rapidly building things but then again this is a great cheaper alternative
