Overview

• Two major body regions:
  • Axial region: head, neck, trunk
  • Appendicular region: upper and lower limbs

Axial Region

Head Regions

• Cephalic: Entire head region
  • Memorize by noting the ability to "see and lick" using parts of the head
• Cranial: Skull
  • "Cranial" rhymes with "branial" (brain)
• Frontal: Forehead
  • Fore = front of the head
• Ocular: Eyes
  • Use "binoculars" for vision
• Otic: Ears
  • "Otoscope" used to inspect ears
• Nasal: Nose
  • Nasal spray usage
• Buccal: Cheeks
  • Medication administered via "buccal route"
• Oral: Mouth
• Mental: Chin

Neck Region

• Cervical: Neck

Trunk Regions

Appendicular Region
