Audiobook Platforms Comparison

who loves AUD books me me I love AUD books you know I love AUD books I try to listen to as many AUD books as I can because I don't always have the time to sit down with a book you know we need to cook uh we need to move so you know you have a lot of things to do every single day so I try to listen to my AUD books every single day because it gives me reading it gives me reading on the go I love AUD books so so much and that's why I decided to make this video I have promised you to make this video last year too so yeah I decided I'm going to compare not every single app but the apps that I have used and also give you some tips and tricks about how to get AUD books the cheapest way possible uh in my experience I'm going to start with the first platform or first app uh that is the most popular one in my opinion and I think in everyone's opinion audible so what is good with audible is that it offers a very very large selection of AUD books and it also offers you a 30-day free trial the first month with one free credit that you can choose buy whatever AUD book you want with it and even if you cancel you keep that AUD book so if you didn't know for some reason you can try Audible for 30 days for free and get a free a book which is so so cool and after that you will be charged $795 in the US and8 pound 7.99 pounds for UK and Europe and that is what I have I have the monthly plan um for Audible and also this gets you access to the audible plus catalog so we have AUD books um audible exclusive series audible original a lot of podcasts documentaries a lot of fun things that you can listen to in their plus catalog too so do not forget about that um also here I don't know if you have the same thing in the US please let me know we have a two-month plan uh you can pay £4.99 and get two credits and there are also yearly plans that cost much cheaper per credit for example you can pay around 70 69.99 with which is 7070 per year to get 12 credits which brings the credit price down to 583 which is very very good also you can pay £10 per year and get 24 credits which brings the price down to £4.58 per credit if you are willing to pay these yearly fees I think this is a better deal um for for a person who listens to a lot of audiobooks for me I don't want to pay that much in one go so I prefer to pay the £7.99 pounds per month and get my credit um but I think these are the same plans in the US too so please let me know because if I open audible here it takes me straight to the audible UK I I don't have access to your audible us because like it knows where you are geographically um besides buying the book with one credit I know when you when I first heard about it I was like okay so you pay monthly get a credit uh so you are paying for one book per month but I read around maybe 10 books per month um so that's not a good deal for me but no it is it is I'm going to tell you why because as an audible member you also get access to the audible plus catalog that I have mentioned to you and you can find some very very good hidden gems in there so don't ignore it if you don't have credits and if you are not able to buy extra credits for that month I highly recommend browsing their plus catalog because you can find some really good thrillers I have listened to some good thrillers there you can find like romances you can find something documentary something that will pick your interest I'm 100% sure because the selection is so large that you will find something you are interested in also what I love about audible is that they have my trust and what I mean by that is that I am 100% sure if I don't find the AUD book that I'm looking for on any other platform that I am using because I'm not only using audible I am 100% sure that I'm going to find it un Audible and for that alone I am keeping my subscription because I can guarantee you you can find any AUD book you are looking for on Audible because they just have hundreds and thousands like million books to choose from but also one of the things one of the perks that are very very important as an audible subscriber is the members only exclusive deals or the exclusive member only deal I don't know but the deals that are exclusive to their members you can get get up to 80% of selected titles which is absolutely insane 80% is nothing and you pay with money or of course in that case you don't you don't spend your credit because your credit is worth more so you spend your money you get the better deal out of it and we have the everyday deal I recently noticed that not a lot of people know about it there isn't everyday deal on Audible on one selected AUD they they it is already pre-selected they chose the AUD book but there is a deal every single day on a pre-selected a book from audible that offers up to 75% of the price so you pay of course in this case too you are going to pay with money it will cost around like one and a half pounds two and a half pounds um if you are interested in that book buy it through that deal check every single day and if you don't check you can go into your settings in the app and activate that notification so you get notified every single day about what book is on sale that day so you don't miss on any day I don't know I was I was surprised to be honest that not a lot of people know about it but uh if you go to your app and to the home and then scroll down you will find the daily deal there try to show you a video here about how to access that they also offer monthly deals for members only um so now they have I think one of the Throne of Glass uh books they have like some fantasy and sci-fi romance all genas and like books that are popular hot titles not only like books that are not um as popular I want to say but they offer a large selection of deals and very very interesting deals too like you can get up to 70% of books which is very very cool also pay with money not with credit because they are worth less with money when you pay it that way um this is the monthly deal they do this monthly and periodically they do the two for one book sales two books for one credit which is absolutely insane I don't miss on any of these deals when they do them because two books for one credit is absolutely insane um and of course they have a list of books to choose from it's not all the books available on a they have a pre-selected catalog to choose from um but you you will find books that you are interested in I found a lot of books like Mafia romance dark romance sci-fi fantasy a lot of books that I got through this deal um and what I do is I buy bundles now I don't know about the price of the bundles in the US but in Europe we pay £18 pounds for three credits that takes the price down uh to six pounds per credit so instead of paying the $7.99 per uh credit per month I pay six pounds per credit and I buy the bundle the three bundle credits or I buy the five credits bundle for $28.99 pounds which brings the price down to 580 so depending I browse the catalog first and depending on how many books I want to buy from that deal I go ahead and buy my bundles five credits May maybe two bundles of five or two bundles of three and I decide which books I want to get that way also they have Black Friday deals and those deals you buy with money not with credits because they are much cheaper with money too um another thing that I think not a lot of people know about is that if you decide to join Amazon Prime Amazon Prime members are invited to select any two free AUD books of of audible for the first 30-day trial so if you are an Amazon Prime member and you want to test audible try it for 30 days you will get two free credits not one like everyone else you get two free credits so you get two AUD books free AUD books out of it uh and for me it is a very great deal like for example when Quicksilver dropped the AUD book of quicksilver it was it cost around 42s it was very expensive uh but I mean it's understandable it's an AUD book it's worth more more people worked on this book um but like people were complaining about the price on Facebook I saw people discussing the price and I was like for everyone who do not have Audible don't buy it with your money just test take the 30 days free trial and get it for free you can get it for free and if you are Amazon member an Amazon Prime member you can get two books for free and I was surprised to see that not a lot of people knew about the Amazon Prime members also you can cancel your subscription at any time there are no commitments and what is so so cool is that you keep all your AUD books after you cancel your subscription because you bought them with your money you bought them with your credits you can keep all of them in your library on the app and you can go back and listen to them when ever you want and I love that so much that you own the AUD books and there is something else not a lot of people know about too is that you can return the AUD book and get your credit back with audible if you didn't know you can return the AUD book after you have listened to it completely after youve finished it or if you dnfed it you can return it and get your credit back but do not abuse it because they will cut you off like if really didn't like the book even if you have finished it if you didn't like it you don't want to keep it or if you have dnfed it and you don't want to keep it you can return it get your credit back and get yourself another AUD book and this is absolutely insane I love it so so much and also if you buy a book accidentally I did it yesterday or the day before that I bought uh the first book in a series I wanted to get the first book in the series a Ru of roses and I ended up buying accidentally the second book because the covers look the same and I panicked and then I was no no I can return it but you cannot do it through your phone you cannot do it through your phone you have to sign in uh through your laptop and go to the orders history and from there you can return it and instantly you get your credit back and you buy your other AUD book but if you can't for some reason you've used this function a lot and you cannot return it and you bought it accidentally you can email them and they will return your credit to you and I love that so so much because first of all we make mistakes like the covers look the same and I didn't pay attention to the title also sometimes you are dnfing a book and you don't want to go back to it you don't want to reread it or you read it and you are not satisfied for some reason or like it's you didn't like the book at the end and you want to return the credit because you are never going to read that book again so for me this is a very very nice option to have and I also heard about the subscriptions I also heard that if you want to get a better offer on your subscription you can cancel your subscription and then wait for a month or two and they will email you with a better offer with a discounted price for your subscription a lifetime subscription I was like I didn't know about that and it is a super interesting thing to do but for me I don't want to unsubscribe from audible because I don't want to miss on my monthly deals and like two for one and the daily deals I just don't want to miss on all those deals for a month or two to get a discount on my subscription but it is something that you can do or you can try to do to get a better offer if you want to and yeah I think audible it is a top one for a reason because I mean you are paying for credit but you are getting much much more um also you have if you have Kindle unlimited you have a lot of AUD books that you can access through audible um and I truly believe that you get your money's worth with audible uh the next app that I'm going to talk about is script it used to be called Script but now uh they rebranded and now it's called ever end um what I liked about but I still like about them but they changed it in the US I'm going to talk about it what I like about script or ever and is that it is like Netflix or it used to be this new model didn't arrive to Europe yet let's talk about the new model the new model in the US started in October 2024 so October last year uh they changed the model from the unlimited subscription to a credit based subscription so they basically became audible which is very unfortunate because they they lost their Edge because people subscribe to ever end script ever end because of this open Buffet this Netflix thing that you have a lot of AUD books to choose from and you can listen to whatever AUD book you are in the mood for and then change listen to another one you don't own the AUD books if you cancel you cannot go back and we read them you don't own them but you have a large selection and I know that it's not truly unlimited it is limited if you listen to the same publisher or the most popular or the latest releases they will cut you off after like five to six books but still it's very cheap listening to five or six AUD books for like I think it is $10 per month something like that it's very very cheap but now that they change it now the standard plan costs a $1.99 per month and that includes one credit that you can redeem for any premium title of your choice and the plus plan is $16.99 per month and they offer you three credits to unlock any three premium titles of your choice plus you get a unlimited access to a catalog that is this is like the equivalent of audible uh catalog but they have less choices audible is the largest one they have but still they have 20K plus audio books ebooks magazines podcasts and sheet music the thing is when they say you can uh you have one credit you can redeem for any premium title you bet your a that all the books that you are interested in are going to be in that premium catalog so you are going to spend that credit to get the book that you really want but when I saw the plus plan and when I saw that the bundle credit the three bundle Credit in the US does it cost 3588 that's what I found on Google I searched it I mean here it cost me £18 to buy the three credits but if in the US it costs you 3588 maybe it is good to get the plus plan $6.99 per month get those three credits for $6.99 and buy three books because it is very cheap to get three a books for $16.99 it is even cheaper than the three credit bundle the £18 and if it is 3588 it is much more expensive than Europe first secondly you can get your three books if they are available search for them on ever end but if they are available the three books that you are interested in get the plus plan get three credits get your three a books and then you can choose to cancel after that if you want to so that is something to keep in mind with this new system that they have for me personally their new system didn't start yet here so I still have unlimited access as usual but given the number of the books that I read each month I end up with limited access each month because I will listen to five or six books that are like popular or hot titles um or if you also listen to the books from the same publisher they will also limit your access um to the books from that publisher um so yeah but it is still worth it I pay I think around $10 and I get like five to six AUD books it is a very very good deal but once this starts this new credit system starts I'm going to cancel my subscription because what drew me to them in the first place is this unlimited access to a books if it's going to be audible then I have my Audible uh even though it is it costs less money the three three AUD books for $6.99 is a bit less than audible I will think about it if uh I want to get titles and also wait for them see how it will cost us here another application that I use that is unfortunately not available in the US but it is available in the UK and a lot of European countries too it is called bookbeat and bookbeat they have a different system that they have H A number of hours system so for example if you choose their basic plan you get 20 hours per month to spend on whatever book you choose to read or books you can read maybe two books around nine hours 10 hours with 20 hours per month and we pay £699 per month or there is the standard plan we get 40 hours per month and we pay $10.99 which is very good because 40 hours if we say the average AUD book is 13 hours 40 hours for 10.99 would allow me to listen to Three AUD books and for $10.99 three AUD books is very very cheap if I compare it to the three credits bundle that I buy from audible three credits bundle is18 pounds so I'm paying $10.99 for the same thing um and I use it and I'm also subscribed to book be I have the premium uh membership the premium is 00 hours per month which is 17.99 uh pounds 100 hours as I said if the length of the book is around 13 hours 14 hours that is for Fantasy uh much less for Thrillers Thrillers are around 7 to 8 hours usually and romances contemporary romances are around 9 hours 10 hours depending uh but like for Fantasy they are a little bit longer but let's say 10 hours per month I receive from them and I the average length let's say 13 hours per book so I can listen to seven books seven books for $17.99 the same amount of money I pay for three books three credits from audible is insane and that's why I'm keeping my subscription with them and now I also have a deal with them I'm paying only um £299 for the first three months with 100 hours yes I know it's it's an amazing deal I'm paying 299s for around seven a books it is Absolut absolutely insane I love book beads so much and what I love about them too is they have a large selection of popular books so for example I have listened to the this month I have listened to the entire uh Indie books too Indie books too which is so so good I listen to the entire Legends of thesmar series by uh Helen Shyer I'm going to talk to you about at the end of the month uh the first book is blood and seal I listen to the entire series on book bead I have also listened to uh leather and lar last month and they also got um the sequel scythe and Sparrow on release date so I don't have to wait to listen to it they they have it right now available they also have the entire Lady Of Darkness series by Melissa K Ro Rich that I plan to read also on bookbeat and they have like all the popular like I have listened to lights out the a book is chef's kiss absolutely insane I loved it so so much um they have like the hurricane Wars the ran in the Holy Library a lot of popular titles that I'm interested in I also plan to rewe the Crimson moth and weed the rebel witch they have both these AUD books too so I love their selection they have books in Swedish too but they have a large selection of AUD books in English too so I love using bookbeat uh and if you are in Europe in UK 100% check them out also I am currently now I started it yesterday my free trial with storytale and storytale gives you oh bookbeat gives you a free trial of the basic plan the 20 hours or the standard plan no I think they give you a free trial of the basic plan 20 hours but storytale uh they give you only seven days trial and they are Unlimited like scribbage used to be I don't know if they limit your access after you have listened to a certain number of popular books or from the same publisher because I'm just um trying them out but um I started yesterday I started because I wanted to read The Raven Hood series by Kate Stewart the first book is flock and it wasn't available on book bead and for audible I needed to buy the book with credits and it was available on storytale and I was like okay that's good thing I think also I can test it out and see if I like it or not I love the app it's very easy to use exactly like audible book be 2 is very easy to use and I'm currently now on book two and I think I will be finished because there are only three books in the series so I will be finished with it before my 7 days trial are over and then uh I need to pay uh $7.99 per month for unlimited access that's absolutely insane um I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to see if there are some books that are not available on book bead and are available on storytale and then I can get my subscription started so I have a plan I always go in with a plan when it comes to AUD books because they are so expensive that you need to go in with a plan even with scribbit now with the new system I know people are not happy at all with this new system from like unlimited to to credit base but if we are going to get three credits for $1,699 I think it is still interesting if you go in with a plan as I said you know what books you are going to get you know that they are there they have them and you start your subscription and get your books and then you can cancel it whenever you wish with storytale too um I believe it is available in the US I checked it before I started filming and I think it is available it is a Swedish company but it is available in a lot of countries in Europe and also in North America and if it is check the catalog if you have some AUD books that you want to listen to uh that you need to pay for on Audible check if they are available on story tale and then start your 7even day I think it's not 30 days which is a bummer to be honest because usually they give you a 30-day trial but 7 days if you have a plan you can listen to us as much AUD books as you can uh in those seven days and also like the subscription is not that expensive um for an unlimited access it is a very good deal in my opinion and yeah that was it if you have some tips and tricks let me know in the comments down below that I don't know about I will be so so happy and if you have made it this far watch this video and also leave me the headphone emoji and I will see see you in the next one bye
