In this video, I'm going to teach you how to make the Enchanted Leaf Circle Blanket, which will be the base of the Enchanted Roses Bouquet Blanket and any other Enchanted Bouquet Blankets I develop in the future. Hi! In case you didn't know, I'm Pauline from Knot Fast Fashion. This video is meant to be a supplement to the written pattern, which you can grab down below in the description via my Etsy or Ravelry if you would like a copy of that to follow along with. I highly recommend it. Otherwise, without further ado, let's get crafting! [Music] Okay, so we're going to start with our magic ring. I'm going to bring this yarn, looped over my fingers as such, insert the hook, and we're going to start with chain two. Now, important to note, this chain two is going to count as one of our double crochets. After we've chained two, we're going to add nine double crochets into our magic ring, so that's one, and we're going to repeat that until we have nine double crochets plus our chain two for a total of 10 stitches. [Music] Some tips as you're working through this: Make sure that your magic ring is relatively small, so it's easy to pull it closed. If you are working with a darker color of Bernat Blanket yarn, then there might be a lot more friction as you're working through this, in which case you might consider doing chain three and then slip stitch so that the yarn doesn't break while you're working with it. Okay, just to double-check our stitches: 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, and then our chain two, 10. So, we're going to end this round by slip stitching to our chain two. Okay, that completes round one. We have 10 stitches. [Music] We're now going to begin round two. Again, chain two. This counts as one of our double crochets. We're going to be doing repeats of 10 of the following stitches. Okay, so we're going to start with a front post double crochet into our next stitch. To front post double crochet, you are inserting your hook behind the post of your first stitch, yarning over, pulling the yarn behind the front post, and then completing your double crochet. And then for this particular pattern, we're going to be working into the front post and the V at the top of each of our stitches. So, right next to where we front post double crocheted, we're going to double crochet. So, into this spot right here, I'm going to insert my hook and double crochet. Okay? I'm going to repeat that until I have 10 front post double crochets. Every single loop in this previous round should be used for front post double crochet. So again, let's do that slowly. We're going to insert our hook behind our second stitch, or our next stitch, I should say. We're going to complete a double crochet, and then we're going to double crochet into that same stitch. So now, I'm going to speed through and complete all of my front post double crochets and double crochets. [Music] Here, okay, so let me show you that last repeat real quick because it's a little different from the others. So, we are at our last, or 10th stitch from round one. We're going to front post double crochet into that loop, and then instead of double crocheting here, what you'll notice is that we have chain two coming out of this. So, chain two is actually going to act as our last double crochet. So, instead of double crocheting here, we're just going to slip stitch, and that counts as our last double crochet. So, let's go ahead and count real quick to make sure we are at the right count: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and then 20. Okay, so we should end with 20 stitches in our second round. Now we're going to move on to our third round. So again, we're going to start with chain two, and then same as before, we're going to start with our front post double crochet. Then next, instead of double crocheting into this spot, we need to increase by 10, right? So, next, we're going to back post double crochet into the stitch where we double crocheted before. To back post double crochet, you're going to yarn over, insert your hook behind your stitch, and then go over the front of your post. Then, insert your hook through the front of the stitch. Okay? And then you're going to yarn over again, pull your yarn carefully through this spot and this spot, and then double crochet. So, notice that that shifts this post a little bit behind. To make sure that we're increasing by 10, we're going to finish our first repeat with a double crochet into the same stitch where you back post double crocheted. So, notice where this loop is wrapped around this stitch. This is the spot where we want to insert our hook, and we're going to double crochet. Okay? So, we're going to repeat that until we have 10 of these. So again, slowly: front post double crochet, back post double crochet—so insert behind, through the front of the post, pushing it to the back, complete your double crochet, and then double crochet into that same stitch. Okay, so I'm going to speed through this and meet you at the last repeat. [Music] Okay, so now we're at our last repeat. Notice again this is our front post, and this is our chain two from before. So we're going to start by front post double crocheting into our stitch from before. We're going to back post double crochet into that previous chain two, and then we're going to slip stitch to this chain two from this row, and that completes our repeats. Okay? So again, count your stitches: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30. Okay? So you should have a total of 30 stitches in your third row. Okay, so now onto our fourth row. We're going to start with chain two, and then again, we're going to front post double crochet. Then we're going to back post double crochet again, and we're going to double crochet into that same stitch where we back post double crocheted, so right here. We're going to repeat that until we have 10 of them. [Music] [Music] So now we're on to our last repeat. We're going to front post double crochet, back post double crochet, back post double crochet again, and our last double crochet will be right here, so our previous chain two. Now we're on to our fourth row; we should have 40 total stitches. For round five, chain two, front post double crochet, two back post double crochets, and then back post double crochet and double crochet into the same stitch. So we're using the post and this bar part of the stitch, and we're going to repeat that until we have 10 of these. Okay, onto our last repeat of round five. We're going to front post double crochet, back post double crochet, back post double crochet again, and then our last one, we're going to back post double crochet into the base of our chain two. Then, slip stitch to our chain two, and that concludes round five. Let's go ahead and take a quick gauge measure. At this point, your project will measure about 7 and 1/2 inches across, or in other words, 19 cm. If you are not meeting this gauge, then I encourage you to use a larger or smaller hook to meet this gauge. The gauge is important because otherwise, your crochet cover will not fit over your pillow form. Starting round six, we're going to change it up a bit. Start with chain two, and then we're going to increase front post double crochet. So what that means is we are front post double crocheting two into the same post. That was the first front post double crochet, and this is the second. So that is our increase front post double crochet. Now we're going to back post double crochet until the end of the repeat, so that's going to be four back post double crochets. [Music] Okay, so that was our first repeat. We're going to repeat this a total of 10 times. On to our last repeat of round six. We're going to increase front post double crochet, back post double crochet, and then we're going to slip stitch to chain two for our last back post double crochet. At this point in your project, you might notice that it's a little bit ruffled, which is okay; it'll flatten out as we proceed further. Okay, we're going to now work round seven. Start with chain two, and we're going to front post double crochet into our previous front post right here. Then, into that same stitch, or in other words, the space between the two front posts from the previous row, we're going to double crochet. Now, in this next post, we're going to do three front post double crochet popcorns. So what that means is we're going to do three front post double crochets into this post: one, two, and three. So you can see here that there are three front posts coming out of this post right here. We're going to remove our hook from this loop, and we're going to insert it before our first front post double crochet. So, in other words, into that stitch of our double crochet, insert your hook before that first post. Then, we're going to take our active loop and drop it onto our hook. We're going to pull our hook through that space right here and then pull tight. So that is our three front post double crochet popcorn. Now we're going to work back post double crochet into these next four stitches. Okay, so that is our first repeat of round seven. We're going to repeat that until we have 10 of these. Okay, on to our last repeat of round seven. We're going to front post double crochet into that same stitch. Front post double crochet three times into the same post. And we're going to turn this into a popcorn by letting go of our active stitch, inserting our hook behind our first post, and drawing the loop back. We're going to work our back post double crochet into our next three stitches, and our last back post double crochet will be our chain two that we start with. So we're just going to slip stitch into chain two, and that completes round number seven. So this is what it looks like in the back, and this is what it looks like in the front. You can see that some of the waviness has evened out. If it's not really evening out for you, you can try stretching your crochet project later on. I recommend that you block it a little bit to fix any waviness as well. On the flip side, if you notice that your crochet project is bowling in, then I encourage you to increase your hook size. Okay, moving on to round number eight. This is where our leaf will start to take form. So we're going to again start with chain two; that's going to count as our last back post double crochet. We're going to front post double crochet into our first stitch. We're going to back post double crochet into our previous double crochet. And now here's a slightly tricky part. What we're going to do is work into these front posts of our popcorn. Okay, so the first one we're going to front post double crochet, the second one we're going to front post double crochet again, and then for this third one, we're actually going to increase: front post double crochet, so we're going to do two front post double crochets into this post. Okay, so this is what it should look like so far: we have one, two, three, four, five, six stitches. Now, since we increased so much, we need to decrease a little bit. So we're going to decrease back post double crochet our next two stitches. So I'm going to pick up this stitch right here, like such, and we're going to pull through two loops, only leaving this loop attached. We're going to yarn over, insert into this next stitch as a back post double crochet, pull through two loops again. Now we have three loops on our hook; make sure that it is the same height as the rest of our work. Then we're going to pull our yarn over through all three loops, so that is our back post double crochet together. And we're going to work two more back post double crochets for this repeat. Okay, so that is our first repeat of round eight. We're going to repeat that until we have 10 of these. Okay, so for our last repeat, we're going to front post double crochet, back post double crochet, front post double crochet into the first post of our popcorn, front post double crochet into the second post of our popcorn, and increase front post double crochet into the third front post of our popcorn. Then we're going to decrease back post double crochet, and then we're going to pull our yarn through all three loops: back post double crochet. And then for our last back post double crochet, we're just going to slip stitch into our chain two. So that completes our round number eight. And as you can see, it's a little quite ruffly at this point, but no worries; it will flatten out as we decrease in the next row. So for round number nine, we're going to start decreasing to form the shape of our leaf. We're going to start with chain two, front post double crochet to continue our stem, back post double crochet, front post double crochet, front post double crochet again. We're going to front post double crochet these two together, so yarn over, insert hook behind this first post, pull through two, yarn over, insert hook behind, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through two. And then make sure all our stitches are the same height; yarn over and pull through three. And then to make sure there are no gaps, we are going to double crochet into the stitch of our second to previous post. So go ahead and look behind your work; there should be a bar right here behind our two posts. This is where you're going to yarn over, insert our hook, and then complete a double crochet. All right, and then we're going to back post double crochet into our next three stitches. [Music] One, two, and three. Okay, so that is our repeat for our round number nine. We're going to repeat this a total of 10 times. Okay, so for our last repeat of round number nine, we're going to front post double crochet, back post double crochet, front post double crochet, front post double crochet again, and front post double crochet two together. And then we're going to back post double crochet, back post double crochet [Music] and then for the last back post double crochet of this repeat, we're just going to [Music] oops, two together double crochet into that previous stitch. Back post double [Music] crochet, back post double crochet again. And then for our last back post double crochet, we're just going to slip stitch at the top of our chain two. All right, so at this point, it's going to be super ruffly, and that will contribute to the 3D effect of our [Music] leaves. Okay, so now we're on to row number 10. Start with chain two. We're going to increase front post double crochet into our first stitch. We're going to increase back post double crochet into our next stitch. So work two back post double crochets into the stitch. So that's one, and then we're going to do our second. So, so far, increase front post double crochet, increase back post double crochet. We're now going to front post double crochet three together our next three posts. So similar process to our front post double crochet two together: we're going to yarn over, insert our hook behind our first post, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, insert hook behind our second post, pull through, yarn over, pull through two, yarn over, insert hook behind our third post, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through two. So right now we have four loops on our hook; we're going to yarn over, make sure that all stitches are the same height, and pull through all four loops. All right, and then to reduce any gaps between our leaves and the rest of the pattern, we're going to yarn over and insert our hook into the stitch in this back part. So technically, this is our second stitch right here, and we're going to, uh, so technically this is the stitch right here, so our second stitch, and what we fp3 together, we're going to yarn over, insert hook into that stitch, and we're going to double crochet. All right, and then we're going to finish off by doing four back post double crochets into the next four stitches. Okay, so we're going to work this one right [Music] here, and then back post double crochet. So that is our row 10 repeat. We're going to repeat this until we have 10 total motifs like this. Okay, so for the last repeat of row 10, we're going to start with front post double crochet, increase, so two front post double crochets into our previous post, back increase, back post double crochet. Then we're going to front post double crochet three [Music] together and then pull through all four loops. Double crochet into the stitch in the back, and then back post double crochet into our next three [Music] stitches. And then we're going to slip stitch to the top of our chain two as our last back post double crochet. All right, so right now we have 10 leaves, and if you look at the side, you can notice that it's a lot less wavy, and we are at 10 rounds. All right, so we're going to start establishing our next set of leaves, and we're going to start with again our chain two. Then into this front post, we're going to work a three front post double crochet popcorn, so work three front post double crochets into this front [Music] post. And then we're going to insert our hook before our first front post double crochet, hook the active loop and pull. Then we're going to work a double crochet into that same stitch right here. So the stitch between our two front post double crochets from the previous row and complete a double crochet here. Then we're going to work a front post double crochet into this next stitch. And then to finish off this repeat, we're going to do a total of eight double post double [Music] crochets. So [Music] one, [Music] two, three, four, [Music] five, six, seven, and eight. All right, so that's our row 11 repeat, starting from this to here, and we're going to repeat that until we have a total of 10 repeats. For the last repeat of row 11, we're going to start with our three front post double crochet popcorn: two, three, insert hook behind our first front post double crochet, hook loop, and pull through double crochet into that same space, front post double crochet. And then we're going to back post double crochet into the next seven stitches: one, [Music] two, three, four, five, six, and seven. And then for our eighth back post double crochet, we're just going to slip stitch into the top of our chain two. And there we go, that is the completion of row 11. If you're ever noticing your stitches are looking a little tight, you can try sizing up your hook. Onto row 12, we're going to start with chain two. Then we're going to increase front post double crochet into that first post of our popcorn. We're going to front post double crochet into the second post of our popcorn, and then we're going to front post double crochet into the last post of our popcorn. Then we're going to back post double crochet into the stitch below and front post double crochet to continue our step. For the rest of this repeat, we're going to just back post double crochet into each stitch. One, two, three. Okay, so we just back post double crocheted six stitches. For the last two, we are going to back post double crochet two together. Yarn over, insert hook into the first back post, yarn over, pull through two, make sure it's the same height as the stitch next to it. Yarn over, insert hook into our back post, yarn over, pull through two, and then yarn over, pull through three. We're going to repeat this until we have 10 of them. Okay, so for our last repeat of round 12, we're going to increase double crochet into our first post, double crochet into our second post of our popcorn, front post double crochet into our third post of our popcorn, back post double crochet, front post double crochet, and then we're going to back post double crochet into all of our remaining stitches except the last one. We're going to do something a little different. So, we're onto our last back post double crochet, and we're treating chain two as one of our back post double crochets. In order to do the back post double crochet increase, here's what we're going to do: we're going to yarn over, insert hook into our back post double crochet, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through two loops, and then for our chain two, slip our chain two right here, which is also a back post double crochet. We're going to insert our hook at the top of our chain, yarn over, and then pull through all three loops. So, that will be our back post. That will act as our back post double crochet decrease. Okay, so that completes round number 12. To begin round number 13, we're going to chain two, then we're going to double crochet into our first stitch right here. And then we're going to front post double crochet two together, so yarn over, insert hook into our first front post or the same stitch as where we just double crocheted, yarn over, insert hook into the next front post, and then we're going to pull through all three loops on our hook. And then we're going to front post double crochet, front post double crochet, back post double crochet, front post double crochet, and then we're going to back post double crochet into the next seven stitches. Okay, so that is our first repeat of row number 13, and we're going to repeat that 10 times. Okay, last repeat of round 13: we're going to double crochet, double front post double crochet two together, so first post, second post, and then we're going to front post double crochet into the next stitch, front post double crochet into the stitch after that, back post double crochet, front post double crochet, then we're going to back post double crochet into all our remaining stitches. Okay, so that is six, and then for our last one, we're going to slip stitch into the top of chain two to act as our last back post double crochet. Starting Round 14, we're going to change how we start our rows to eliminate an obvious round start. To do that, we're going to first locate where our chain two from the previous row is. You can see that it slightly protrudes from your work. Alternatively, you can quickly undo your slip stitch to locate it. I'm going to pinch it from the back, flip my work over to the wrong side, and you're going to front post slip stitch to your chain two. So, we're just inserting our hook behind this post, yarning over, pulling the yarn through this post, then pulling it through our active loop. Then, we're going to flip our work back over to the right side and continue our row as written. Chain two, and then follow the written pattern. You'll do this for Round 14 until you've finished your blanket, then back post double crochet Then, we're going to double crochet into our next stitch. Be careful with this one: this is our back post double crochet into this stitch. Our next stitch is where we decrease two together, right here. Then, we're going to front post double crochet three together, using the front post of this stitch here—not the first one, but the second one. Yarn over, pull through, pull through two loops, yarn over, insert your hook into our third post right here, yarn over, pull through two. Now we have three loops. Then, yarn over, insert your hook into our last front post—our fourth one—pull through two. We should have four loops now. Make sure all your stitches are the height of your work, yarn over, and pull through all four loops. Next, we're going to back post double crochet into this stitch twice, creating an increase back post double crochet: One, and then two. That was our increase back post double crochet. Now we're going to increase front post double crochet into this next stitch. All right, and then for the next part, we're just going to back post double crochet into the next seven stitches. [Music] All right, so that is our 14th-row repeat, and we're going to repeat this until we have a total of 10 repeats. If you followed the tutorial along with me, congrats!
