let's take a look back at the entirety of my Pokémon region based on India Nepal and parts of the surrounding area Devar bakam welcome to the world of Pokémon my name is Ban I am one of the Devar Region's Pokémon professors along with my mentor Professor fig I am researching the spear I phenomenon and its Origins throughout this beautiful region you will find fantastic creatures called Pokémon big small adorable or Fierce every Pokémon exists in a delicate balance with one another how do you fit into this balance what sort of Pokémon will you encounter what path will you choose to take these questions will be answered in time but for now let's find out how you begin your journey through Devar beta beta wake up oh good you're up get dressed hurry up you'll be late to pick up your stter Pokémon from the trainer qualification exam go meet Professor fig at the entrance to mahand I packed some curry in your bag so don't worry about breakfast I'll see you later good luck I'm sure you will make your mom proud as you leave the front door of your lovely home your journey in Pokemon Jade and Jasper begins hey everyone Brandon here and welcome to my video series on the Devar region a Fakemon region inspired by India Nepal and parts of the surrounding area I definitely took some creative liberties with the city placement biomes and general spacing of things but that's to be expected from Pokémon games I mean just look at the Pala region can you honestly tell me that there's a giant gaping crator in the middle of Spain no yeah I figured there is a lot to see in exploring Devar with new locations new people and more importantly new Pokémon to meet particularly the starter Pokémon for this video so let's listen to your dad and go meet up with Professor fig so we can choose our starter as you make your way down the first little route of the game spotting some new and familiar Pokémon along the way the large looming Visage of mahand is within your sight the entire time at the end of the path you see an old man who looks wise but also a bit Stern and somewhat smug hello I'm Professor fig are you the young one who recently arrived from the Galler region and you are here to take the trainer qualification exam good good as you may well know I created this exam to help keep the balance between Pokemon and people by giving L's aspiring to be trainers this test to make for more careful tactical and well-informed trainers you only have one chance to take this test and failure is not an option that is if you want to be a true licensed trainer and Devar are you ready to choose your partner and begin this test good now which of these three will you choose here are the starter Pokémon in the Devar region Shish rub cfair and splas for these three I did follow some of the theoretical patterns that were well known amongst the community before scarlet and violet came out and smashed them to pieces to start off we have Shish rub where he went with the pattern of the grass starter being based on some form of extinct animal Shish rub itself is based on the black Buck or the Indian Antelope which can be found across both India and Nepal as for its extinct relative look no further than the similarly named Blue Buck aka the blue Antelope which roam the plains of South Africa until around 1800 but Back to Black bucks they really stood out to me as the males have these long spiraling horns which reminded me of the long twisty branches and roots of a ban tree so mix the two together and Bam Shish rub it name comes from shishu and krishnar which mean baby and blackbuck in Hindi and shrub you know the little bushes moving on to cfir this little follows the fire starter Chinese zodiac Theory and yes before I get all the comments about this I am aware this Theory isn't a thing in gen9 but cfair was created well before the pattern was abandoned so put down your pitchforks all right I mean who knows maybe Skeletor is actually a horse anyway obviously cfair follows the ox part of the Chinese zodiac even without the Zodiac cows in India are pretty synonymous so to me this was always going to be a starter no matter what cfair is specifically based on cattle like the zebu or the Gower it tries to use its fiery horns to Mark trees kind of like wood burning crafts though since it's a base stage it isn't as proficient at it and will sometimes burn down the entire tree whoops cfair made a noopsy lastly we have splas whose name comes from Splash and ASP a kind of venomous snake found in Europe Water starters are typically based on some kind of semi- aquatic animal which in this case is the blue and yellow lipped SE crates whose blue coloration really lends itself well to a water starter the other pattern that had been established was some form of weapon that was incorporated into the design which will definitely be more apparent in Splash final stage oh and its tail is shaped like a pungi the instrument snake Charmers play which originates from the Indian subcontinent however it's less an instrument of music for splas and more of an instrument of Destruction the bubble on its tail can be used to either store water or Venom which can then be blasted out at opponents using the tip of its tail before we hop into the evolutions for these three I wanted to talk about the man giving you your starter Professor fig and his Protege who we met in the intro Professor ban fig is of course inspired by the globally recognized mandes kuram Jang Gandhi also known as Mahatma Gandhi he would serve more as the older Professor archetype like oak or Magnolia that you meet when you get your starter but then not really see pretty much ever again on the other hand Professor ban would fulfill a similar role to that of Sonia Kukui or Sycamore a professores character that checks in on you through your journey and May challenge you to a few battles here and there he is inspired by the humanitarian spiritual leader and internet sensation sh Shankar AKA Guru Dev to those who may be confused about my choice of Inspirations given the nature of the speise phenomenon the gimmic of this region and the themes established throughout Devar I wanted the professors to be based on famous spiritualists rather than famous academics oh and one thing you may have also noticed no Mom character to start the story this time just good old pops who like many Desi dads is sporting a thick mustache cargo shorts and touting the age-old saying money doesn't grow on trees all right enough character talk let's get back to the starters our grass buddy shrish robob evolves into antio it's still a black Buck but the twisty branches and roots of the bonan tree are on full display becoming the horns and neck wrap for antelo with the ban tree being of great spiritual significance in both Hinduism and Buddhism this makes for a great psychic type its horns and neck raft can extend into the ground to ens snare foes in a cage of hard Roots which is actually a new grass type move it can learn in snare which works like mean look and keeps the opponent in the battle but also lowers their speed by one stage also yes the grass baby stood up on two legs but I promise this is the only starter that does that of the three so please calm down moving on our fiery friend cfair evolves into igno look see I did the opposite with this one bipedal becomes quadrupedal are you satisfied aside from the switch and the amount of feet igno expands on the elements of cfair with longer fiery horns which it uses similarly to cfair but with more proficiency and a more fiery appearing tail the pattern on its back reflects its newly added ground typing looking like broken up bits of soil speaking of it learns a new ground type move called scorched Earth which is a base 70 attacking move with a chance to burn the opponent now to evolve our slithery pal splas into wave Viper as with the other two way Viper expands on splas existing elements this time literally with the bubbles on the sides of its head being able to fill with water and expand in an attempt to make itself look more intimidating just like actual cobras do speaking of this naturally adds in the inspiration of one of if not the most well-known snakes out there the king cobra also W Vier tail now has a second bubble for more storage space and a longer spout for more destruction this manifests in its new move called water cure which sounds all nice and pleasant but is actually named after a method of torture in which they would force someone to drink way too much water giving them water poisoning which is exactly what this move does it's a blast of water that has the chance to poison the opponent think scalded but poison instead of burn all right are you guys ready to evolve to the final stages well let's just stick with way Viper and evolve it into vas tunami it gets its name from tsunami and vasuki the king of serpents who is usually seen hanging around the neck of Shiva the God of destruction like vuki vasami is a Naga which are a race of half human half snakes that usually take a fully snake form but can appear as some kind of hybrid of the two the bubbles of the previous two stages have moved up to the hood of vasami and you may have noticed they have these distinctive markings on them that almost look like eyes well the reason for that is vuki and his brother who was also a king of serpents shesha are depicted to have anywhere from 1 to 10 heads so the bubbles act like these extra heads and vasami uses them as such to trick prey with their seemingly harmless appearance and if another Pokemon thinks it's harmless enough to eat it will get a mouthful of extremely toxic venom as for the weapon that is incorporated into this design the shape of vun nami's hood resembles an Axe and with it having poison filed bubbles along the blades of the axe it also refers to poison treated weapons moving backwards let's evolve igno into guo the name comes from Gaia the primordial Greek goddess in personification of Earth but also the Hindi word for cow is G Gaia is also known as Mother Earth and has an equivalent in Hindu mythology kamadenu known as the cow mother kamadenu is more often addressed by her proper name Sarabi which means cow and Earth as well as a few other generally nice things in some depictions she is shown to have several Hindu deities within her body and the Himalayas along her ankles which is reflected in the cracky appearance of guo's hooves kamadenu milk was also supposedly used to make ghee a type of clarified butter used for ritualistic fire sacrifices which plays into guo's fire typing kamadenu is one of the origins of the veneration of cows that India is so well known for while we're on that topic another aspect of guo's design reflects one of the ways India venerates their cows the Gangi redu which is when an old Ox that is unfit for Farm life is decorated and walked door too by a Gangi rolu people will offer money and clothes to the Gangi redu as a way of trying to receive blessings since oxes and cows are regarded as holy beings last but certainly not least antou evolves into Thorn whose name comes from tho the Egyptian god of wisdom and the moon Thorn and Horn I think it's time to finally address the elephant in the room what's up with the crescent moon symbol on the forehead throughout this entire line well in name Thorne is based on tho who is depicted with the head of an Ibis but in design it is based on the Hindu god God Chandra or Som he is the Hindu god of the Moon Knights and vegetation and his Chariot is pulled along the night sky by a black Buck on top of that connection the bombara people of Molly credit the discovery of Agriculture to a half human half Antelope called Chiara apparently there's lots of grass and Antelope correlation going on throughout the world the branches of antelope have become a full-on bonan tree with Thorn looking like some sort of Cape of hanging twisty branches and the horns are even more twisty to match an adult male black Buck the berries along Thorn's neck the white aspects on its face as well as its more aged wise appearance all refer to sadu meaning a holy person who has renounced Earthly attachments in dedication to reaching Moka or Enlightenment sadu usually have some form of marking or tilaka on their foreheads close to their azna or third eye chakra or covering their face and body as well the white face markings of the black Buck very much reminded me of the markings of the sadu so I thought it would make a great mix starter Pokémon by the final stages usually reveal some kind of group theme like entertainers with the Pala starters or RPG classes with the cow starters for this group theme I'm sure many of you have probably already guessed but the group theme is gods and goddesses mainly Hindu ones though I wanted to mix up the names so there could be a variety of Deeds from all around the world included I also noticed a new pattern with the Pala starters they all had a group design element floating things the flower with Meara the bird with skurge and the tail feathers of quav all so I followed suit with the Devar starters each having these little gold rings around their arms and other parts of their body these refer to a kind of jewelry many Hindu gods are depicted wearing which I believe is called K but I couldn't find a solid source to back that so let me know if I'm mistaken and if I've mispronounced anything throughout this video please forgive me I'm trying my best and those are the starters of the Devar region which one would you choose thank you all so much for watching and I will see you guys next time what would a Pokémon region based on India Nepal and the surrounding area look like well that's what I'm doing with the Devar region in the last video we discussed the starter Pokémon so today we'll be taking a look at what some early root Pokémon could be like but what exactly are early root Pokémon typically in Pokémon games there are certain Pokémon that show up in the earlier roots or areas of the game these Pokémon are commonly Birds bugs a rodent and sometimes a dog or cat as such they've been labeled the early root or Route One Pokémon paa kind of mixed up this formula with the bird not being an early root encounter and the addition of lechon which kind of takes the place of the early root rodent now called the early root mammal but I do have a few announcements to make before we hop into the early root Pokémon of the Devar region first up all the wonderful music you hear throughout these videos was done by the incredibly talented jumpluff who makes full soundtracks for potential Pokémon regions we could see in the future so make sure to check them out on to the early route Pokémon as I said in the last episode we met our starters go check that out if you you haven't already but along the way to meet them you may have noticed some new Pokémon so let's hone in on the most obvious example Babel our early root bird of the region this little guy is a pure flying type and is based on the Indian gry Horn Bill these are some scrungy looking dudes in their own right so it matched the idea of a little baby bird who is just having their plumage come in I didn't want this first stage to quite have the horn yet as it's just a baby but the little floof near its beak is supposed to resemble one Babel evolves into Shaka in its newly evolved state it gains the electric type and yes I know we just got watchel and Killa watal and they're very neat but this line was made way before gen 9 was announced and I like it a lot so yeah moving on not only has Shaka gained a new typing but its feathers have become more refined and it finally has a horn this stage is based around the Oriental Pi Horn Bill which has a nice mix of black white and a hint of yellow which helped sell the electric typing Shaak still has a bit of the shagginess from Bill just to show that it hasn't fully grown into its plumage yet or its type for that matter with it only able to deliver minor zaps to its opponents Shaka pak's name comes from shock and which translates to bird in Hindi and though it's a bit of a stretch Kapak in Turkish means cover or lid which shaka's horn sort of acts as kind of well anyway let's evolve this guy to its final stage pal rain which is inspired by the great Indian Horn Bill its name comes from the Great Horn Bill's nepes name homry which means king of the jungle and is where it gets the other part of his name rain the kinglin continues into its design as well with a regalia inspired plumage and a crown-shaped marking on its horn the Great Horn Bill is known for the loud flapping of its wings that are said to be comparable to the sound of a train passing by so instead home R makes the sound of thunder when it's flapping its wings which references the very famous mythological creature the Thunderbird which can do the same throughout this entire line there's actually a Rags to Riches or Cinderella storyline taking place which is inspired by the mate folktale of chck L Mong the story is of a girl left behind by her father with an evil stepmother that makes her do all the chores sound familiar though instead of being saved by a prince in a glass slipper the girl named hayu transforms into a hornbill and flies away from her awful life the tale is definitely way less simple than I put it and a lot more dark but hey aren't The Inspirations for most Pokémon speaking of dark Inspirations what's darker than the night well except when the moon is out and bright which brings me to our next early root Pokémon lunara it is very Loosely based on the larvae of The Gorgeous Indian Moon moth yes this little guy joins the Great Hall of Crescent moon-based Pokémon with it being a literal Moon moth larva while white isn't exactly a color many animals desire to be as it makes it very easy for predators to find them lunara takes it in stride and will attach itself high up in trees at night time attempting to look like the moon in the sky lunara evolves into gaboon your standard cocoon stage bug type but it evolves the concept further by being based on a gibbus moon rather than a crest which is where it gets its name from it also has this little emo bang evoking the teenager angst of some middle stage Pokémon the behavior of lunara carries on with gaboon which is especially important to its Evolution process into Rino a bug Ghost type finally this line has come full circle or should I say full moon you probably saw this coming with the previous two stages but yes this entire line references the phases of the moon with Roho in particular referencing rohini a favorite consort of the Moon God Chandra and a god of the nakshatra which are the lunar Stations of the Hindu astrology with her being the fourth nakshatra of the zodiac which is ruled by the moon rohini is known as the red one which aligns perfectly with the Indian Moon Mod's red coloration but when that coloration is tied to the Moon part of Rino's body it makes a Blood Moon which is where its Ghost type comes into play on top of that its ethereal ectoplasmic Wings reference the Ghost Moon phenomenon which are massive dust clouds in space that sometimes align with the moon making the illusion that there are Two Moons and also more generally nighttime is often associated with the Paranormal rohini was actually also the name of one of the very first satellites the Indian space research organization shot into space so its antenna are reminiscent of satellite panels people born under the rohini nakshatra are said to have beautiful eyes so this line shares these simple yet enchanting square eyes I don't usually share shinies in these videos but Roho shiny references blue moons which was just too fun not to mention for both this line and the Babel line I collaborated with the wonderful Pokey Jon now onto the early root rodent or I guess mammal now honestly I feel like we still got an early root rodent in Pala though it wasn't in the very first route hear me out trudel is a normal type is based on a shrew which is rodent adjacent kind of like Bunnelby and is found within the early roots of the game therefore early root rodents given my opinion in this regard I decided to do both an early root rodents and mammal in Devar so first we'll talk about the rodents meets heat a pure normal type which I worked with seriously not to create while fairly simple in concept its inspiration comes from the carim mat Temple found in rajastan also known as the Temple of rats a temple full of over 20,000 black rats called cabba that are considered holy I know I could have easily just put Rattata or even alolan Rattata here and called it a day but for one Pokémon repeats Concepts all the time for two I wanted to put special attention on carim Mata because it is a super unique place and thought it deserved a unique mod to represent it and for three it evolves into stag Pine a normal rock type based on the Indian crusted porcupine this is one of those Concepts that comes to you and it's just like oh that would be cool so that's why I made it simple as that it's an early root rodent after all it doesn't exactly need several layers of complexity but it is sporting a brand new type combo with the normal rock type which has not been explored by Game Freak up to this point at least at the time of making this video The Rock in the middle of its forehead is meant to reference a bindii a decoration worn between the eyebrows to help put focus on the Anna or third eye chakra which deals with wisdom this is referenced in stag Pine being a wise but slow and lumbering type kind of like slow King and with it able to learn a couple psychic type moves both the shinies of herat and stag Pine referen an albino rat which white cabba are considered especially holy at the carim mat Temple onto our roote one mammal when thinking of a mammal that could fit the normal type and capture the sense of India my mind went to none other than the Beautiful yet sturdy Indian rhinoceros yes we already have ryhorn with this design inspiration and it would be present in Devar but a new rhyo Pokémon just felt right for this region and I think I handled it in a bit of a unique way with shyo a pure normal type and just as its name implies this dude is timid as all get out though it's fairly common across Devar it will still hide from oncoming strangers as its species has a past with poachers coming to steal their adorable yet sharp horns and their horns only become sharper as they evolve into surer a normal Steel type another type combo game freak hasn't touched yet Zer act as protectors from the poachers and will protect shyo as well as other Pokémon with all its might Zer is not only inspired by the Indian rhino but also the mythical creature the kadan which is what Travelers of the 10th Century thought or Rhino was but they described its horn as having mystical properties like the ability to cure poison and it was supposedly used in the handles of knives well that sure sounds like great potential for a Steel type to me so I took the knife handle part literally giving it a sword for its horn therefore making its entire body the handle you can even see that shino's horn looks a bit diger likee as well which was inspired by the pesh cobs a type of dagger that sometimes used Rhino horn Ivory for the handle so Roger's horn and armored appearance was inspired by the PA a type of sword that has a kind of Gauntlet attached to it acting as both a weapon and armor for real though this sword is so epic and I wish I had one while being a sword the extra long horn is also a reference to the Rhino's ancient ancestor the alasm so roer's more armored appearance reflects the Indian Rhino's almost armor-like hide but also the fantasy Trope of the armored Rhino like in the Marvel movie Black Panther Shino and serer actually have a symbiotic relationship with stag Pine where they will use its cracky quills like a wetstone to sharpen their horns and in the process stag Pine's quills also become more sharp and refined upping Shino and serra's offensive measures and stag Pine's defensive measures with them both being new type combos that include normal as well as being early route Pokémon I thought that them having kind of relationship to one another would be really fun and those are the early rude Pokémon of the davar region thank checking out some Pokémon inspired by India but more prominently Hinduism as Approximately 80% of India's population practices it so obviously there would be a swath of Pokémon representing it in an the Devar region when we last left off in the story we had received our starter Pokémon from Professor fig after you've made your decision he will hand you some pokeballs give you the standard catching tutorial then invite you inside Maha to meet his Protegé Professor ban who will further explain the trainer qualification exam but before you can make your way into the city a young woman bumps into you knocking your freshly acquired pokeballs out of your bag oh sorry didn't mean to make you drop all your stuff wait did you just get your starter well if you don't mind could I challenge you to your first battle really awesome let's do this go bu Beauty meet bul Beauty a pure grass type who I worked with fungus Fakemon to create this is the deao grass type of the region alas smiv or bounded just a cute little plant Pokémon based on the buds of lotus flowers lotuses are a sacred flower in both Hinduism and Buddhism representing Spiritual Awakening and Enlightenment it is also the national flower of India and is prominently featured in Hindu Buddhist seek and Jane art for real these flowers were everywhere I looked when researching India so naturally it had to be the main grass Pokémon of Devar or should I say Devar for those who wanted me to pronounce it in a more traditional way at least I hope I pronounced it right I will pronounce it Devar for these videos just to keep consistency and that's most likely how the American audience would pronounce it anyway but you can feel free to pronounce it either way back to b beauty though at level 22 it evolves into padm Maya a grass fairy type here you go degenerates your grass wfu of the region pmaya is based on the Hindu goddess lakmi a goddess of Fortune Beauty fertility and prosperity which I felt fit the fairy type LMI is also the goddess of Maya meaning illusion or magic which is where padaya gets part of its name the other half comes from Padma which is sanskrit for Lotus or padmasana which is the Lotus position a very famous meditation pose lakmi is often seen in this position or standing on a Lotus Throne as you can see padaya is on their own Lotus Throne that is incorporated into their sorry Leaf Dress but more prominently their head has a giant Lotus sitting on top of it like a literal flower crown which flower crowns themselves in many cultures are associated with love fertility and status just like LMI she is mostly associated with the pink Lotus and pink in general which ties wonderfully into the pink loaded fairy type so with the fairy type acting as a pseudo light type in Pokémon all signs pointed toward padia's type combo after defeating b beauty the girl will send out her next Pokémon cupid cupid is a pure fairy type who I worked with Pokey J to bring to life as you can tell from its name and design it is clearly inspired by the Roman god of love Cupid where Hinduism comes in is that coincidentally the Hindu god of love Kama also has a bow which he uses to shoot people with flowery love arrows Kama is most notably featured in a legend where he tries to shoot a meditating Shiva with one of his love arrows the god of destruction's retort to this act is using his third eye to completely incinerate comma Love Hurts I guess anyway the Hue aspect of Hup's name comes from the internationally famous Festival of Colors holy which actually just took place at the beginning of this month holy is a festival of Love spring and the Triumph of good over evil the love aspect of holy stems from celebrating the Hindu deities Krishna and Rada falling in love a very quick summary of the tale is that Krishna who was darker skinned was afraid the fair skinned Rada wouldn't like him his mother advised him to go to Rada and ask her to color his face any color she wanted so she did and they became a couple and thus the color throwing ECT of holy so I combined all these elements and made Cupid which is a little color fairy that fires pigmented goop arrows at unsuspecting people making them fall in love at level 30 hupet evolves into chromantic upon Evolution this Pokemon gains the additional inspiration of another very famous bow wielder Rama an avatar of the god of preservation Vishnu who has an entire epic dedicated to his Legends titled the ramayana the ramayana is one of the foremost pieces of Indian literature and Rama is one of the most recognized characters chromantic rainbow light Arrow of Love refers to the most powerful weapon in Rama's Arsenal and one of the most powerful in all of Hinduism the bramastra a fiery Arrow capable of the utter destruction of any and all nature around where it lands bows are very integral to the story of Rama with it being his main weapon and the contest of stringing shiva's bow leading to the marriage of the love of his life sitha so a love bow and arrow ties perfectly as a reference to him chromantic also adds in some more birdlike features like a pink speak pattern that in combination with its eyes form a heart this refers to ring Rose parakeet which Kama uses as a mount which are symbols of love in their own right upon defeating Cupid you will have won your first Pokémon battle that was so fun I'm Pina I'm actually exploring some of the folktales and legends from around the region and I could use a talented upstart like you let me know if you're interested with your first Pokémon battle under your belt it's time to head into the capital of Devar mahand this bustling Hub of trainer and Pokémon alike is filled to the brim with new things to explore such as boutiques where you can customize your clothing shops where you can stock up on supplies and restaurants where you can eat delicious Indian inspired foods and even learn to cook that food yourself but we will leave that gimmick for a future video as we have a Pokémon trainer seminar to get to you managed to see Professor ban up on stage in the Central Plaza with several trainer examinees around him with a lavishly dressed one towards the front of the crowd the seminar begins hello my young trainer hopefuls I am here today to explain the rules of the trainer qualification exam as you may well know becoming a trainer in Devar takes a lot more effort but means a lot more as well trainers ship grants you special privileges such as free access to Pokémon centers upgraded Pokeballs and the money earned from battling registered trainers to pass the trainer qualification exam you must defeat four Devar League gym leaders and complete their challenges you May challenge any gem leader you would like in any order they will accommodate your skill level according to how many gems you have completed thus far you will be given a provisional license so you can freely explore the region and its amenities but exploitation of this will will lead to disqualification from the exam speaking of you will be disqualified from the test if you are found to be cheating abusing the privilege of your license or attempting to steal another person's Pokémon you will fail this test if you are defeated in battle during an official gym challenge you are only permitted to take the trainer qualification exam once and once only if you fail there are no doovers with that you are all ready to go off on your journey to hopefully become a trainer best of luck and may lerga guide your path well that was a bit heavy to explain from an in-game side of things if you failed the exam just like normal you would go to the Pokémon Center you were last at but instead of healing your Pokémon it would just reset the story up until the point you were at before challenging the gym anyway as the crowd starts to dissipate you hear a voice splitting through the crowd get out of my way a rather pompous looking young man makes eye contact with you what are you looking at you want a battle kid just know that I'm going to ace this exam I'm Kumar but you probably already knew that my brother is the king and gym leader of zenati so I'm destined to win anyway let's start this battle go hanger here is Hangar a flying type monkey Pokémon that I made with Pokey Jamon it is based on gry langers which are also called Hanuman langers do you see where I'm going with this Hanuman is the king of monkeys and a god of Courage strength devotion and discipline who is also a major character in The ramayana being Rama's greatest companion throughout most of his journey hanaman being a God has many incredible abilities one of which being the power of flight he is also the son of value god of wind so the flying type made complete sense to me and I thought it would be a fun and unexpected approach considering we have so many monkey Pokémon already I really wanted this one to stand out and a majority of flying types are just birds so why not mix up the type representation a bit the sash likee taale that hanger has is meant to reference the sash that Hanuman is often depicted with but also aerial silks I imagine hanger swings through the air like it's flying and could even create little clouds to swing from kind of like the dragon's can in one piece another one of hanan's abilities was essentially invincibility which he is granted by various Gods but specifically Indra God of Thunder grants Hanuman vulnerability from his vajra a weapon used to create lightning that Indra had previously hit Hanuman with this part of hanuman's abilities would be referenced in Hangar having an ability like lightning rod Hanger's name comes from hang and Langer but also has hanumon in there and when put together it kind of sounds like hanger as in something that hangs at level 2 seven hanger evolves into rest Langer a flying fighting type with hanamant being a god of strength and discipline naturally Indian wrestling would have him be their Patron God which is what Ranger refers to there are many forms of wrestling in India and it is considered one of India's oldest Sports so I wanted that aspect to be highlighted with Ranger the pattern on its fur is meant to reflect a wrestling singlet and its tail has been wrapped up around its waist which is reminiscent of the loin clouds wrestlers used to wear also SS from Dragon Ball Z with how acrobatic monkeys can be I think wrestling a monkey like this would be a very difficult feed you may have also noticed with both Hangar and wrestl anger that they have these bumps on their head this not only refers to Grey langers who do have these kind of bumps but when Indra struck Hanuman with his vajra Hanuman landed disfigured from the strike so this is a small reference to that also there's the classic song two little monkeys jumping on the bed one fell off and bumped his head and you bump Kumar's monkey on the head so what you beat my hanger well here is my real face go scrap up well would you looky there this may be a familiar face to those who watched my dog Pokémon of every type video scrap up was in fact a tease for Devar before you all knew it existed kind of like game freak does in their games nevertheless for those unfamiliar this is scrap up a pure fighting type that I worked with tubs a to create scrap up is inspired by the Indian paria dog which is native to the Indian subcontinent scrap ups fighting typing comes from the fact that Indian parah dogs can be Scrappy wild Street dogs but also when domesticated can be trained as police or guard dogs scrap up are little tricksters that love to battle and cause trouble they will start fights with two separate Pokémon But ultimately trick them into battling each other only to take out the weakened winner of that battle to evolve scrap up it must use the move bite 20 times once completed it will evolve into a mongrel a fighting dark type a mongrel is additionally inspired by the doll also known as the Asiatic or Indian wild doog its dark typing comes from the doll's nickname of the devil dog or the Red Devil which is displayed in its horn-like ears and spiked tail one thing I didn't mention before is that a mongrel is also inspired by the Hindu god of death Yama who has two four-eyed dogs named sharara and shiama that guard the entrance to his kingdom which ties back into the Indian priia dog being used as a guard dog sounds like a certain three-headed Greek Dogo I know of a Mong girl's name comes from a mongal which means bad luck vile or loathsome in Hindi and Mongrel which is a dog of no discernable type or breed which Indian and Pariah dogs are usually a mix of breeds with pure breads being very rare to find after defeating scrap up what whatever that battle doesn't even count let's just see if you can keep up to me while I pass this exam with royal colors it's it's it's flying colors Bud moving on from your second battle you are finally free to explore the Devar region as you like you can head out of the north south or east exits to begin your adventure the world is your oyster to pass your exam you can try to take on four of the 12 gemms in Devar like bonan said they do level scale or maybe see what Pina was on about with those Legends perhaps encountering some extra powerful Pokémon along the way on your way to leave the city you come upon what looks to be some sort of scuffle it looks like some trainer examinees are being harassed by some strangely dressed people Hey kid are you taking the tqe not anymore you're not give me your Pokémon we are shutting down this exam in the name of Team fate you step in the way to defend your peers huh oh this little brat thinks he can stop us what a joke all right Punk let's see what what you've got go gar Rock meet gar Rock a pure rock type also done by tubz this Pokemon is a bit of a Twist on the rock monster Trope present in some Pokemon generations I.E Geodude Rag and rolla and roly Ki gar rock is based on the gariel an incredibly long and thin snouted crocodilian native to Northern India but why the rock type well the gel's name comes from the peculiar blob on the tip of the male gariel snouts which resembles an earth and wear pot called agara but there's more to with in that which I will explain after garok evolves into gargoyle a rock dragon type so where the rock typing really comes in is with the gel's connection to the mythological creature the MAA the Mount of the river goddess ganja a creature with the long trunk and head of an elephant and the body of a snake or fish well that certainly sounds like a garial to me and whoever made the Sanskrit word for crocodile Maraka tends to agree though there is some debate on if it was actually the gangie river dolphin instead which is also a good candidate but how do we go from water Beast to rock type well that's where gargoyle's name comes in bakara are considered guardians of gateways or entrances so many Hindu and Buddhist temples will have them appearing as gargoyles gargoyle also has some more European gargoyle Elements Incorporated to help sell the name a bit more and to tie these two time hey everyone want Brandon here we've been making a Fakemon region based on India and parts of the surrounding area called the Devar region and there is some incredible potential for regional forms here for example Machamp and its Evolutions are great candidates for india- based Regional forms I mean machamp's four arms and bluish gray skin are already reminiscent of Hindu gods like Shiva or Vishnu and their vague musclean appearance and pure fighting type lays a great Foundation to build a design upon the fighting type covers a wide range of topics from martial arts to dance to Knights to whatever reason flamingo exists one Topic in particular I think would fit well onto the Machop line is sports given it is already based on a kind of sport weightlifting and there are many sports-based fighting types but specifically for the Machop line I went with the Indian born contact sport of kabadi so with that said here is devarian Machop Machoke and Machamp that I collaborated with fungus Fakemon to create and they are all fighting electric types to explain the reasoning behind their typing first I have to explain a bit about how kabadi is played a basic rundown is that the objective of the game is for a single player on offense called a Raider to run into the opposing team's half of the court and touch out as many players as they can before returning to their half of the court all without being tackled by The Defenders within 30 seconds points are scored for each player tagged by the Raider while the opposing team earns points for stopping the Raider this game is very fast-paced and is all about being quick and having extremely Swift reflexes with the electric type and electricity in general being associated with speed it was a natural fit for this concept back to the Machop line their headrests are now super aerodynamic to enhance their speed though with the addition of their speed they have sacrificed a bit of power which is evident by this Line's leaner Physique in comparison to their cantonian counterparts speaking of the little p on machamp's Belt has been moved to the uniform of devarian Machamp which was a nice detail that fungus thought up also machamp's four arms would work really well with the interlocking system of the defense creating an impenetrable wall of muscle making this line highly versatile with both speed and defense you can find these guys zipping around the tari plains just above mahonda though the Machamp Line's counterpart is meant to be the Abra line in later generations an inadvertent counterpart was introduced the timber line this line also had wonderful potential for a sports-based regional variant and I think every Indian and Southeast Asian viewer would be remiss if I didn't include one of the world's most famous sports Cricket so here is devarian Timber gerder and con Calder which are now fighting rock type and I also worked with Fus to make obviously now their names don't make as much sense but hey look at a lan sandrew and sand slash anyway the once lum steel beam and concrete that they were holding has been turned into these highly durable flat stone bats they use their hardened fists to carve these bats for themselves and are known to use them to smack Stones up into the air at unsuspecting Pokémon and yes tinon and devarian kelder are absolutely friends in Aven Terror I mean this line was just a perfect matchup a Pokemon that is already known for holding things changing what they hold to a cricket bat tinon could have easily worked here as well but this line was made well before tinon premiered the timber Line's weird hairlike protrusions have been shaped like helmets and are now harder than Stone which given they like to launch rocks into the sky works as a form of protection so they don't accidentally wiely coyote themselves this line Reigns over the craggy Cliffs of the palai valley to the south of mahonda right next to the jewel en crusted city of vadadent case as it's not exactly a regional variant but instead a case of a new region giving an old Pokémon in additional form I know that sounds just like Regional variants but it's different trust me as you probably know deerling and sabuk are a couple of normal grass type Pokémon introduced in generation 5 that had different forms based on the seasons mechanic that was introduced and subsequently abandoned until they reintroduced the mechanic in Pokémon go well did you know that India actually has six seasons they have the standard winter spring summer and Autumn but they also have pre-winter and monsoon season so with that said here is Monsoon form deerling and sbok which I worked with kfic monosar to create I didn't make a pre-winter season form because it wouldn't be visually distinct enough from the Autumn or winter forms but instead like a hybrid of the two which to me seemed not as interesting as introducing this completely new season as a form as far as design for sbox horn I took inspiration from Monsoon damaged trees and tried to make it almost look like the leaves were drenched also it has just a small TFT of fur on its chest rather than the larger tfts of the spring and Autumn forms as monsoon season happens between Summer and Autumn so this little TFT represents that transition and obviously for dearling we went with a darker and Bluer shade of green to illustrate the watery nature of the season and to help differentiate it from the summer forms green I wanted to feature deerling and sabuk because until this most recent generation they were kind of overlooked and their mechanic has been replaced in favor of a location based system so in De there would kind of be a hybrid of both there would be a location-based system with Monsoon form being found around the mangrove forest near the cities of viaka and Kiti but the season system would make a return with a greatly reduced rate of seeing the Line's forms that weren't of the current season moving on to a tried andrue Regional form we have a pretty simple one with devarian conf which I also worked with fungus to make it is a pure psychic type and instead of flowers it has a ring of prayer Flags prayer Flags also known as Tibetan prayer flags are found all throughout the Indian subcontinent though they are called Tibetan the initial idea of these prayer Flags was introduced to Tibet and even Nepal by the Indian Buddhist monk Atia these flags are a symbol of peace compassion and wisdom which I thought fit the psychic type very well this was just one of those ideas that popped into my head and I just knew I had to make it it was actually one of the first ideas I had for Devar also conf is just one of those Pokémon I feel is forgotten about a lot and wanted to give it some love these guys would be found all over the northern part of Devar but mostly in the fundar valley and around the city of kashina which has itself a psychic type gem which again we will talk about later another Pokemon I feel deserves some love in the regional form department is Shroomish it is just such a cute little mushroom dude and mushrooms are found all over the planet so it has great potential for a regional form so with that said here is devarian Trish it is a pure poison type and I worked with anartist astray to bring it to life it is based on the inky cap mushroom which as the name implies has the appearance like ink is seeping from its cap not only does the inky cap look like ink which gives off the poison typing by itself but Inky cap mushrooms can be poisonous when consumed with alcohol which gives it its other nickname of tipler's Bane the inky cap mushroom is actually not native to the Indian subcontinent but is actually found across Europe in North America the reason I chose this mushroom for this form is actually because it is also based on India ink which is known for its deep black coloration it has been used in China and Egypt for centuries and is still highly valued to this day considered to be one of the finest inks I am of the belief that if at least one element of a Pokémon or Regional form ties back to its region of origin then it makes total sense I mean there are plenty of variants in the actual games that are questionable at best for the region they are based on ah yes the famous Igloo of Hawaii tangent aside this rumage evolves into devarian Brum at level 23 just like its helnan form but it is now a poison Ghost type you can see that the ink blots paint its face to resemble a skull or a c Vera from Dia de los Muertos in combination with its cap it actually resembles the appearance of one of the mascots of dios muos named La Calavera Katrina and I can hear you wondering to yourself what do skulls and Ink have to do with each other well India Inc is actually made with tar pitch and by burning human bones okay maybe maybe not human bones but bones nonetheless which ties this whole concept together oh and also its tail now has these little spikes that kind of resemble bones coming out of tar like those found at the LaBrea tarpits which ties back into brum's partial dinosaur inspiration I'm really proud of how these Concepts came together so easily to make some simple yet effective Regional forms and finally we have another Regional form I'm very proud of if you have been to any of the live streams on the channel or just know me you will know I am a huge fan of Hawlucha so I took great pleasure in working with fungus Fakemon to create devarian hucha a psychic flying type this design is inspired by a few things but namely the Divine Eagle the demigod of strength and vigilis Garuda this Divine being is found throughout Hinduism Buddhism and jism and is seen as a Swift and Powerful protector this inspiration is only further accentuated when at level 34 devarian Hawlucha evolves into Huda look at him I'm so in love with this design okay Brandon breathe while Garuda is the Divine Eagle the Brahman kite is often associated with him in Indonesia so that is where the brown and white aspects of Hawlucha and hara's coloration come in the golden Parts come from the fact that Garuda is described to have gold wings and the pink comes from its psychic typing but gold and white are common colors associated with the psychic type as well and speaking of its typing Garuda is known as an enemy to the naga or snake people and just snakes in general with the majority of snake Pokémon being poison type its typing does well to defeat them also in cases like the superior and sandaconda lines it also has a type advantage due to its partial flying typing both Hawlucha and Huda have these feathered crust on their head that resemble that of the Javin hawk eagle which Indonesia also Associates Garuda with tying this Hawk based Pokémon to the Divine Eagle but they are actually modeled after the erva pundra tala as well this symbol is worn on the forehead of vavas to indicate their affiliation with Vishnu with its placement on this line referencing garuda's role as vishnu's Mount and it's also visually Sim similar to the karita Makuta also known as the cylindrical Crown Garuda is often depicted wearing in his humanoid form I've always wanted an evolution for hucha and boy howdy am I happy with this one again shout out to fungus on this one and those are some Regional forms be in their design like the Voltorb and fungus Lions acting as Pokeball mimics their type like kleon or Garian stunfisk type changing abilities or even the most famous example Eevee with its multiple split Evolutions so naturally in my own Pokémon region based on India and the surrounding area Devar I had to make some of my own after getting through essentially the tutorial section of the game the Devar region would become open to you and you would be introduced to our first gimmick modon of the video the first kind of gimmick I wanted to approach was a very recent one the collecting gimmick which we recently got with the Pokémon gimy ghoul having to begrudgingly collect 1,000 gimme ghoul coins in order to evolve this dude into a freaking string cheese m mascot so in Devar I wanted to have something similar but to take all the tedium out of it so let me introduce you to Mella the merchant Pokémon a pure normal type as you may well know India is known as a major Hub in the world of herbs and spices with it having a major hand in the spice trade throughout Asia North Africa and Europe in Antiquity bringing the world spices like cardamom coriander cinnamon cumin other spices that start with sea Mella naturally acts as a reference to that carrying around its little backpack like rack of different spices that SP backpack acts as a reference as well as does its General appearance Mel's name comes from Masala which in Indian cooking means a mixture of spices and a masala daaba which is a special form of spice rck containing essential Indian herbs and spices but I put cell in the middle of its name because Mella is based on the spice merchants and The jrpg Stereotype of the traveling Merchants pulling from other RPGs and jrpgs is something game freak does and has done since the beginning and I love jrpgs so why not Infuse some of that love into these Fakemon anyway Mella would act much like gimy ghoul throughout your journey in Devar though it would be a bit more out and about it has spices to sell after all Mella receives great joy from sharing their spices with Pokémon and trainers alike if they're worthy so it will always be up for a battle though you will have to challenge them once you defeat or Capture One you will have proven you are worthy of the spices they hold and you will receive them just like you would gimle coins but these spices actually serve a purpose and it is not to evolve Mella you can actually use these spices in your cooking in Devar there would be a cooking mechanic just like curry cooking and Galler which I was trying to allude to in the first video in this series but a lot of y'all thought I was simply implying that Curry was all Indians eat which I wasn't anyway it would also act like the sandwich mechanic in pdea giving you special boosts in certain areas like encounter rates titles and most importantly shinies which Mella special spices would act like the herba mystica in that you would use them to get extra special bonuses like boosted shiny odds in the process making amazing dishes like SOG paneer that looks like shiny tangala samosas with the appearance of a snow runt naan with Pikachu's face toasted on it bani in the shape of a Pokeball the list goes on but speaking of those dishes we move on to the next kind of gimmick Pokémon I wanted to implement in Devar a type changing one how about a Pokémon to eat all these delicious dishes we're going to make they're going to need a big mouth for that something that can take in a lot of food at once kind of like the mouth of a whale shark so let me introduce you to irides the Gourmand Pokémon a pure water type for now as I implied this guy can change its type depend on the kinds of dishes you serve it if it is a spicy dish you of course get irid dis spicy form which is a water fire type a sour dish you get sour form which is water electric a bitter dish the water ice bitter form a sweet dish the watergrass sweet form and a salty dish the water ground salty form originally the salty form was the dry form but then Pala came around and replaced dry for salty so that's why it's ground type rather than rock type these forms take on the element in full with different forms of Aquatic Life being represented in each one irides typings are also reflect Ed in Mel's signature move spice rack which changes type depending on the kind of spice it has in its backpack IR addition all of its forms are based on the rainbow fish no not that rainbow fish this one this enormous fish is found in Hinduism but also makes reference to Buddha as some believe him to be an avatar of Vishnu this fish's rainbow scales each represent an element the green scales were made of grass which also represents Earth the yellow scales lightning the blue scales ice and the red scales fire there was a fifth set of scales which represented The Ether or sound thus those sces were invisible which is represented by irish's standard form this fish was also said to have been as big as a whale big enough to swallow an unnamed profit or in some stories Buddha hole which are the reasons behind its eating based type change and why I decided to use a whale shark as inspiration as it is the biggest fish in the ocean currently and is a fish named after a whale the astute eye might have also noticed some plane-like elements within its design these make reference to the Airbus Beluga XL an enormous transport aircraft used to transport sizable cargo and also has a large mouth to put this cargo inside of much like the rainbow fish held the unnamed profet inside itself that he was retrieved from 3 days later which I can only assume was from uh natural causes irish's name comes from iridescent which means showing luminous colors that seem to change when seen from different angles but there is also a kind of Catfish called the iridescent shark and obviously the second part of its name is Just Fish irides can be found all over the coast of davar as a rare spawn but do appear more frequently near the coast of bakwa as it is celebrated by the people who live there and so irides has a sort of Friendship with them festivals are held in its honor with different themed foods which become shared meals between the town's people and irides which changes irish's form and is believed to change the forms of its people but in a more metaphorical or spiritual sense next on the list of gimmicks is mimics as I said before we have Pokémon like Voltorb and fungus which are mimics of pokeballs but we also got gallerian stunfisk which is also partly one but seeing as the last full-on Pokeball mimic was four generations ago I thought it was high time we got another one so let me introduce crab ball the ball Pokémon a pure normal type as this little dude spends most of his time on land there's really no need for the water type also we've had a bunch of crabs that aren't water type already so I thought it would be fun to add to that collection this little guy is inspired by the smooth box crab which lives in the Indo Pacific area of the world's oceans once I saw this guy I knew I needed to make him into a Pokeball mimic the way it folds up its pincers so it almost looks like a little ball it was just perfect as is evident with crab all who also evolves into reca pod the big ball Pokémon with this Evolution this Line's secondary inspiration becomes a bit more evident this line is also based on a species of crab which actually inspired a yo-kai the hean also known as the samurai crab or the demonfox expression mirrors also this line reflects the general idea of a crab mimicking something else with its shell the sharp almost blad likee pincers of rpod refer to the samurai for which the heigan gets its name like I said before these these Pokémon mainly stay on land though more frequently in big cities where it is easier to hide amongst the more modern objects crab all are a bit more skittish and are more likely to run away if challenged to a battle while rpod is more than ready to take on the fight though with their size they were never looking to hide either also the shinies Buck the trend of looking like great balls and instead look like master balls but why stop with just one mimic Pokémon what about a mimic that inhabits something other than a Pokeball like mimikyu or gimy ghoul one that you can find hiding and haunting the ruins throughout this region so I would like you to meet sinense the incense Pokémon a ghost fire type very obviously this Pokémon is a haunted version of the incense item found throughout much of the Pokémon series with it looking most like the odd incense but I imagine there would be multiple colored forms based on the different incense all remaining ghost fir type though this is a visual representation and was the best I could do with Photoshop sin since his name comes from sin a transgression against Divine Law which ghosts and demons can be seen as but there is sin twice in its name doubling down on the fact that this is an evil being and obvious viously the second part of its name is incense India is the world's top producer of incense with it being deeply rooted in many rituals and forms of worship in Hinduism jism and Buddhism thus in the ruins of ancient forts cities or temples these old incense burners would have been left behind ripe to be inhabited by the spirits of Pokémon who still have a burning Grudge that needs to be extinguished this Pokémon is also inspired by the legendary incense hanono which has the power to bring forth spirits of the Dead when it is burned which can be seen within the smoke which leads us to sense Evolution Jin sense the ephr Pokémon as its name and classification suggest this Pokemon is based on the Jin and ephr both hailing from Islamic culture with 15% of Indian's population being Muslim I wanted to make sure to include some Pokemon that made reference to their culture Jin are spirits that may inhabit multiple forms one being fire and EP are a form of demon said to be rebellious or evil gin which are formed out of smoke and fire and are said to also frequently reside in Ruins though some depictions of eph and afarit are said to be good or form of God's Wrath gin sense takes the form of the more commonly known Western nightes form of the Gin the genie appearing as though its old incense burner body is its lamp that it's been released from which also further mirrors hango being a spirit coming from the smoke of incense burning much like its ephr origin gen cense are beings of fiery malice executing Revenge upon anyone who dare touches their incense burner body both cense and jense can be found popping out from seemingly harmless incense throughout the ruins of Devar which are inspired by different real life ruins such as the bongar fort known as one of the most haunted places in India which these both represent and yes I know the location isn't exactly correct the Royal ruins of chatti the allora caves and the ruins of Hy there would also be some ruins you could find deep in the Rasha Jungle which hold a mystery that we will explore in the future and those are some gimmick Pokémon of the Devar region thanks so much for watching and I will see you guys next time hey everyone Brandon here Regional evolutions and straight up new Evolutions have started popping up in the past couple Generations so naturally when I started creating my own Pokémon region Devar I wanted to make a bunch of my own one aspect we have seen in gen 8 is Pokemon getting new split Evolutions through Regional forms such as with Berserker rarus and sneezer as well as an outright new split Evolution with cleor given Devar is based on India Nepal and parts of the surrounding area it would make sense for a Pokemon that already had a major basis in India and by proxy Hinduism to get a new split Evolution that Pokemon would be none other than metti along with its Evolution Meacham these Pokémon are based on yoga and Hindu deities like Shiva and Ard dinari personally I have always had a fondness for this line so I wanted to show it some more love in this region as you may well know meacham's gimmick is its main ability pure power which doubles its attack stat so how about we make a counterpart that is more of a special attacker then you would get something like meta TI's new split Evolution metat The Liberation Pokémon a psychic fighting type that I worked with the amazing an artist astray to create though the switch and primary type doesn't really do anything mechanically it is more symbolic of the switch and focus for this Pokémon putting the brain over the Brun in this instance meat's name comes from meditate obviously and sedara goam better known as Lord Buddha I felt it would be a great fit to have this Evolution reference the Buddha given the Indian subcontinent is the birthplace of Buddhism and meta TI's meditating nature with the Buddha probably being one of the most famous meditators worldwide and meditation being intrinsic to Buddhism as a whole this Evolution retains medit TI's color scheme rather than turning red like Meacham Lord Buddha being depicted as having blue skin is not unheard of though it is usually depicted using gold which would be referen in the shiny of metat this also forms a cool little color triangle of shinies between the three members of this line as far as its stats meacham's attack and special attack stat are the exact same so we wouldn't even really need to change the stat distribution though we will a tiny bit we will switch the speed and HP stats as metat is not really going much of anywhere unlike its bouncy dancing counterpart metam but now we've come to the DA fan in the room how exactly will metat match meacham's ability for that we have the new ability mindful doubling the Pokémon's special attack stat the name is a bit of a double on Tandra being like mindful which meditation is all about mindfulness but also that its mind is full of knowledge and understanding metti evolves into metat if leveled up to level 37 while holding the new item the focus beads which my buddy Maus deck help bring to life the focus beads not only help evolve metti but also have a secondary use boosting the power of psychic type attacking moves if used consecutively kind of like the metronome item but you can use it with a variety of psychic type moves instead of the same one every time the item itself and its ability are a reference to Buddhist Mala beads which are throughout Devar aspire to be able to reach the level of focus a metat has another new split Evolution comes in the form of an evolution to Barbo whiscash is a bit of a secondary mascot on the this Channel and even has its own emote whiz cash so I made this one as a tribute to my mods with that said here is barbun the devilfish Pokémon a water dark type who I worked with the amazing chus Arts to bring to life there exists a certain kind of catfish that can be found in India named the goonch catfish also known as the giant devil catfish and this catfish certainly earns that title being absolutely enormous and with one having been rumored to have fatally wounded multiple people and even eaten small children children who dared to swim in the murky Rivers it resides in Barb follows this dark origin in its typing but also in its Behavior aggressively attacking any that enter its territory it evolves from Barbo at level 30 while in or near the Waters of panata falls found in southwest Devar referencing how the gunch attacks were noted around the Ki River in carnat Taka which this area is meant to reference with its numerous waterfalls another Regional Evolution we have actually already introduced is davarian Hawlucha and Huda respectively based on the Hindu deity gar which you can learn more about in this video here but there was also a couple tarian forms and a new Evolution that I actually introduced in a video before the series had even started what am I talking about well last year I made a video in which I gave the rest of the route one rodents their own dark normal Regional forms paired with brand new third stage Evolutions a keen eyed viewer might have noticed for the centret line who I worked with kfic monosar to create that a lot of Inspirations I used came from India this was yet another hint towards Dev art just like how I did with scrap up and a mongrel to explain a bit more about this line CIT and furit coloration is inspired by the nilgiri Martin which is found in Southern India in the hills of the nilgiri mountains for which it is named the little mask-like pattern of this animal fits well onto this line in their dark normal typing and it also refers to anti-heroes characters who do heroic things but not so much in a traditional heroic way such as red hood and Deadpool which this Line's red shiny forms make reference to as well as lining up with the shiny forms of alolan Rattata and gallerian sigon centret and furet became this way and Devar to avoid predation as some Pokémon in Devar were crafty enough to outmaneuver their typical defense mechanisms so they adapted to become nocturnal adopting a darker coloration and typing to make it easier to sneak around at night centrate retain their Lookout nature taking shifts during the day to make sure that their friends can sleep and furd and Devar are even more elusive than their jonian counterparts but can intimidate foes with a nasty snarl if necessary at level 35 tarian furet evolves into soret the longtail Pokémon a dark flying type I always thought it a bit strange that fur completely abandons the Flying Squirrel inspiration of CIT so this Pokemon is the best of both worlds while mixing in elements of both the Indian giant squirrel and the Indian giant flying squirrel with this Evolution the sort of anti-hero motif has turned more into just a darker hero like The Dark Knight himself Batman Soren are masters of the air at night able to land and take off in seconds they will Glide over cityscapes exclusively targeting and taking down Pokémon that bully others moving on from an older generation Pokémon to a Pokemon from the newest generation cloth this dude took the Internet by storm when it was initially introduced and definitely captured my heart kth is based on a few different kinds of crabs along with a bit of rock climbing but it is also one of many puns in the form of a Pokémon most likely being based on rock crabs as in a literal rock crab so being the pun enjoyer that I am I wanted to maintain that aspect of cloth so before I explain more it is my pleasure to introduce you to the Varian cloth a pure grass type who I also worked with an ards D stray to create rather than a rock crab this version of cloth is a tree crab literally changing its little hairy elbows into little bushes taking it from the Ambush Pokémon to the Ambush Pokémon with the abundance of trees in Devar it became more advantageous for kth to blend in with said trees rather than the cliff phases like in Pala though it will strike in the same manner as pan cloth masking itself amongst the foliage of the trees easily able to land on top of prey passing by but this video is about Evolutions so of course in Devar KF evolves into claror the mangrove Pokémon a grass water type upon this Evolution the punt of this Pokémon has evolved as well now being a literal Mangrove tree crab though the actual Mangrove tree crabs are native to the Americas Mangrove crabs can be found all over southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean on top of that India and Bangladesh are home to the sundarbans and the sundarban reserve Forest the largest mangrove forest in the world which is referenced with claror and the mangrove forest west of viaka in Citi where tarian cloth and claror can be found design-wise claror obviously has its pun Origins but with its bushy beard and eyebrows it also makes reference to the great deu tree a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda franchise and yet another small reference to Zelda would come in the way that claror would appear in the Overworld with it looking like a normal Mangrove tree until it drudges itself out of the mud to come and attack you just like the ever means from tears of the Kingdom or for more of a Pokémon related comparison like gevard and houndstone in Pala and there is yet another Pala Pokémon that receives a brand new Evolution in Devar spy doops this Pokemon is pretty polarizing with its fans absolutely loving it and its haters hating it this Pokemon definitely grew on me and with it having a measly 404 based at total and big middle stage energy I knew I wanted to give this dude an evolution so after leveling up to level 34 while knowing the new bug type move false Retreat spy Ops would evolve into araara the tactic Pokémon a pure bug type which I also worked with kic monosar to create this Pokémon ties together elements of spy Ops and tarantula bringing the line full circle but its name as well as its design come from the punch kakar also known as the 5Ks of KSA seeks the Cara which is also incorporated into its name is an iron band which is displayed as the webbed bands around a Rocka Cara's arms and shoulders the CES which is seen in this Pokémon's beard the conga which is not exactly seen in this design as it is usually covered by a turban or dustar but the wrap around this Pokémon's head refers to it the kachera which is reflected in the sort of clothing around a rakara waistline and finally the kpin which this Pokémon's arms are shaped like the pose also evokes one of the symbols of the seeks Thea I felt KSA sees would be great to reference with an evolution of spy Ops as they were a smaller militaristic group that was frequently outmanned so they had to use more strategic methods to take down the enemy just like spy Ops who references special ops forces who also use different and more strategic methods to take out their target the main strategy of caik was called diods or 2 and 1 half strikes in which they would attack pretend to retreat then attack again to confuse the enemy which is referenced in that false Retreat move I mentioned earlier when using said move aakakara retreats to your party in which you can swap into another Pokemon for one turn but then the following turn aakakara will swap back in automatically and hit the Pokemon with a priority base 70 attacking move that guarantees to confuse the target the move would not be shown so your opponent won't know if this is actually a hard swap or just false Retreat leaving room for a bit of swap prediction it essentially gives you a form of a meat shield for a turn which is great given it is pure bug type often considered one of the weaker types speaking of this Evolution would make the tarantula line the first three-stage line that is pure bug type which is why I didn't give it a secondary typing if it was going to gain a new typing it probably would have been with spy Ops who learns a good amount of moves outside its typing Arachnophobia warning here but arakara is inspired by the the decorative silver orb weaver which does a similar thing with its legs to the ogre spider from which spy Ops is inspired and it shares the coloration with this line oh and one final fact is aakakara joins Eevee hoo alola and the giraff rig line in the palindrome name Club going back to Generations we have an evolution for what I feel is an often overlooked Pokémon draa this Pokemon is actually so cool and is wholesome as heck if you watch the sun and moon anime you will know what I mean with it embodying the grandparents it is named after pretend Ing and playing with children it can also be very destructive if angered which plays into its Dragon side well in Devar dra's love of children and destructive nature grows even stronger when at level 45 after following you for a thousand steps it evolves into Dr parade the float Pokemon a normal dragon type which I worked with the incredible de fakon to create this Pokemon's inspiration comes from the mate people found in the Manipur region of Northeast India during the religious Festival of lioba a special racing boat called The Hang Ken is used in a ceremony called hiang taba this boat race is believed to ward off evil spirits as the boats are imbued with spiritual Powers you can see here there's a hiren being featured in The Republic Day Parade which is partly what inspired this concept Parade floats are seen all over the world and you know who loves being at and taking part in parades kids so Dr parade represents that letting kids and parents alike ride on its back around Villages making them feel special and in fact imbu them with protection against Ghost type Pokémon the shape of this Pokémon is also reminiscent of the dragon-headed long ships of the Vikings and another well-known Grandpa figure fused with a boat the king of red lions from The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and of course if we're giving draa an evolution we have to give its game exclusive counterpart turtonator an evolution as well so at level 45 after defeating three turtonator that are holding the new mortar scale item which M de also did the art for turtonator evolves into Tor tank the ballistic Turtle Pokémon a fire dragon type which I also worked with themes to create Tor tank takes the blasting nature of turtonator and turns it up to 11 being partly inspired by tanks or War bunkers with its long nose looking like turrets Tor Tank's long snout is also inspired by the soft shell spiny turtle and it is also clearly reminiscent of the Indian star tortoise which you can see the bottom of torank shell is shaped like a star but the Indian inspiration doesn't stop there this Pokemon is inspired by a festival by the name of Agy Kelly otherwise known as the firefight in which hundreds of people light pieces of palm branches or fronds on fire and throw them at each other don't worry as to prevent themselves from getting serious Burns there are devotes on site to help with any medical care needed and the participants only wear these orange clothes called Lungi to reduce the chance of catching on fire the little FY tips of torank shell reference the burning palm frons and the orange coloration on The Shins reference the Lungi torank snout is used to fire off a Cavalcade of devastating incendiary blasts while its explosive shell guards it from oncoming attacks also drade and and torank tie their pre-evolutions together even further by mutually having a theme of festivals and those are some Regional evolutions of the Devar region thank you all so much for watching and I will see you guys next time Legendary Pokémon the mightiest and some of the most influential Pokémon in the franchise every generation has them and since Gen 2 each set of games has their own box Legends with Devar my Pokemon region based on India Nepal and parts of the surrounding area this is no different hey everyone Brandon here the lore of the box legendaries for the purely conceptual games Pokemon Jade and Pokemon Jasper would be explored in the uncovering the ancient storyline one of three you can choose to explore just like scarlet and violet had with the other two story lines being called Victory Road which would be the traditional storyline of the gyms and El leite 4 with the added Twist of trying to pass the trainer qualification exam and the last story line is called fighting fate in which you would uncover more of the mystery surrounding the evil team fate back to the Legends though you would accompany your rival Pina the fairy tale chaser who we met in a previous video to various temples throughout Devar battling Mighty Boss Pokémon to gain entry and occasionally bumping into Professor bonan who is out researching the spearit phenomenon slowly but surely you would put together the pieces of the lore behind the Legends and their locations battling members of Team fate along the way all the while learning about and helping realize pina's dream but in the last Temple after defeating the boss Pokémon that panr sure was tough I didn't know if romantic was going to hold out that has got to be one of the weirder spear eyes forms I've seen thank you so much for your help with this maybe I am worthy enough to take over for my mom as the fairy type Elite 4 member but we finally have all the information about these Legendary Pokémon let's put it all together in a distant time there existed a mother Who Bore two children the eldest possessed the remarkable gift of igniting an intense passion within both people and Pokémon who crossed their path meanwhile the younger sibling could naturally bestow good luck to others and Pokémon around them as they grew older with the support and encourage ment of their mother their talents grew stronger and they began to be worshiped for their seemingly miraculous abilities for a Time the siblings work together to bring out the best in others but that would not last long they began to view their abilities as a hindrance to each other the Elder siblings fiery passion burned within their worshippers drying up any Goodwill they had for the younger siblings luck Centric ways while the luck of the younger siblings dowed any need for hard work within their own followers drowning out the need for passion in exchange as resent grew between them they separated from each other and their worshippers with them the mother pleaded with them and tried to remind them of the balance they once had but both were convinced that they were right and left to start Villages of their own as years went by in their Solitude they became even more angry with each other to the point that the Elder declared war between their towns the war waged week after week until it was just the two siblings left standing in which they both met their end at each other's hand the mother left with the grief of losing both her children turned to forces Beyond herself in prayer she begged for yet another miracle for both her children and so a miracle unfolded the mother herself transformed into a Pokemon of legendary might this newly created Pokémon resurrected their former children using the souls of their fallen followers which transformed them into Pokémon as well the younger was revived first becoming an emissary of water and Beginnings the Elder was revived second becoming an em are of flame and endings not much is known about what happened immediately following these events but these Pokémon still roam Devar known as lerga the balance Pokemon harasha the beginning Pokemon and mugan the ending Pokemon lerga is said to be able to bring out the true power of Pokémon just as the mother gave birth to the siblings and brought out the best in them this is what we have labeled as the spear eyes phenomenon making the Pokémon in this form strong against all types but also weak against all types wa who would have thought people becoming Pokémon I wonder how true this tale is or how that would even work anyway it looks like it says where we could find them just as Pina said the location of the Legends would then be revealed to you in Pokémon Jasper you would find harasha in the temple of Beginnings to the far north meant to emulate the bajo temple found in the Indian state of utarak this indomitable elephant as its category suggests is the legendary Pokémon of beginnings this water fairy type has the power to bring good luck and New Beginnings to those it deems worthy just like its main inspiration arguably the most well-known God in the Hindu Pantheon ganesa the elephant headed God of new beginnings wisdom and luck there was an absolute 0% chance I was not going to include some kind of reference to ganaa in this region and making it a legend seemed all too fitting for this region given how widespread this God is its type represents where all life began water also we have yet to see a water elephant Pokémon as of the making of this video which is a damn shame given how synonymous elephants in water are the fairy type comes in with its luck based nature as fairies and faol are associated with luck in many European myths with leprechauns being a prime example many of you may have questioned why is that water pink well it partly reflects the dawn the pinkish orange Hue you see as the sun rises over the water it also references shampoo which was actually invented in India hara's name as with the other Legends in this video can be broken down into multiple parts the ha comes from the Hindi word for elephant hati the Rah comes from narangi the Hindi word for orange then the Sha obviously comes from ganesa on the other side of the coin in Pokémon Jade you would find mugan to the south in the temple of endings found between the cities of vajat and carbano which are modeled after the Runes of hpy this powerful peacock is the legendary Pokemon of endings and is based on ganesha's brother Kaka a god of Victory and War who is a lesser known de compared to ganesa in the Hindu Pantheon but is better known by the taml people as marugan he is even widely regarded as the god of the taml people cakea is usually depicted riding upon his Mount paravani who is a peacock with the peacock being the national bird of India and it having this association with Kaka it made complete sense for it to be a legendary we also have yet to see a full-blown peacock Pokémon to this point with the closest things we have currently being quaal and un feasant Mug's name comes from mayil which means peacock and taml pasumai which which means Green in taml and marugan the reason it is pronounced mugan and not mugan is because it keeps that a sound like lerga and harasha I just wanted to keep that consistency between the three masukan is obviously primary fire type but its secondary type is fighting to reference maran's role as a God of War but it also ties into its fire typing though it may seem like an odd Choice given its inspiration there are actually a few reasons for its fire typing with one being how cakea or in this instance his other name sconda was born putting it as simply as I can without getting this video demonetized Let's just say the god of fire Agy had a hand in the birthing process of sconda AKA cakea delivering him into the river ganji the other reason for its fire typing I will actually be discussing later on before that I wanted to discuss the trio master of these two lerga which you may have noticed looks fairly different stylistically from the other two well that is due to the fact this is actually lerga spear eyes form its base form will only be revealed in the conceptual DLC for these two games which I will reveal more about at a later time as far as this video goes I will tell you that lerga is meant to reference Parvati the goddess of power motherhood and devotion and her incarnations as Ki a goddess of time and death as well as Durga the goddess of strength and protection who is known to ride a tiger which is the national animal of India as well this is where lerga gets parts of its name coming from Huli meaning tiger in the carnota language of Canada but is pronounced like Lion as in the lion that Parvati is sometimes known to ride this Mount is actually known as dwan and can be a half tiger half lion hybrid it's pretty much pva's favorite animal the Sue comes from nasu GMU which means pink or s in Canada and Durga harvati is the mother of both ganesa and Kaka and so lerga as the story suggests fills that role balancing harasha and Mug's creative and destructive forces respectively while we are on that subject I know there are many out there currently questioning why I didn't make the trti Brahma the god of creation Shiva God of destruction and Vishnu God of preservation into the legends of this region well if you were paying close attention you may have noticed I actually already did harasha is the legendary Pokemon of Beginnings tied to the beginning of Life or the creation of Life mugan the legendary Pokemon of endings tying to the end of the world or the destruction of the world and finally lerga the balance Pokemon who preserves the balance between these two forces it doesn't stop there either as as I said water is where all life began on planet Earth in Hinduism Brahma is the creator of the universe further tying it into harasha typing the other part of massan's fire typing which I mentioned earlier comes from its partial Shiva inspiration with shiva's depiction as nataraja also known as the Lord of the Dance Performing the tandava a dance in which he destroys the entire universe with Cosmic flame and ushers in a new universe the closed arch of flames in this depiction reminded me heavily of the tale of a peacock being fanned out which in inspired mugan with the mounts of the TR merti being a swan an eagle or snake and a cow I personally thought it would be better to reference these Gods more symbolically than literally just for the sake of having a more diverse representative and in my opinion interesting set of Legends this way we have three animals that are iconic to India while combining themes of creation destruction Beginnings endings how those all lead into each other and a powerful mother just trying to balance and preserve her two powerful children another aspect of these Pokémon is that I tried to use a Indian language for each as there are so many languages in India I really wanted to represent them here in the case of harasha and mugan their languages actually correspond to the cultures that majorly worship them as well as where you can find them in game with Hindi being mostly spoken to the north and Tamil being mostly spoken to the South and those are the main Legendary Pokémon of the Devar region thank you all so much for watching and I will see you guys next time boss Pokémon have become somewhat of a new Staple in the franchise and sometimes they have unique forms like in the case of the Noble Pokémon from Legends archus so in the Pokémon region I've been making Devar I wanted to implement that same kind of mechanic because I think they're a fun and somewhat challenging alternative to gyms as we discussed in the last video where we talked about the legendary Pokémon of Devar in the uncovering the ancient story line you would go to different temples around the region with one of your Rivals Pina trying to collect information on the Legends each Temple you would visit has its own boss and they are the Protectors of this sacred information you are looking to discover to get access to this info you will have to prove your worth through glor ious battle but who are these bosses let's meet them first up is one you have already met if you've been following this series gargoyle who I worked with tub zon this rock dragon type would serve as the boss of a secret Temple which is hidden within the cave found near the base of the barar mountain range each boss would have two phases similar to how they operate in scarlet and violet the first phase would be their standard slightly enlarged form but then in the second phase they would spear eyes the battle gimmick of the Devar region go see that video on the legendaries I just mentioned to see a little bit more about that but here is speis gargoyle who fusman actually handled for a quick explanation of how spear eyes works every spear ISM Pokemon's attacks will be super effective against its opponent now I know that sounds a bit broken but to balance it out it itself is weak to every type of attack as well it effectively turns every Pokemon into the ultimate glass Cannon it can be used by all Pokemon but some Pokemon get special forms much like gmax Anyway speisen gargoyle further Taps into its gargoyle inspiration and showcases its partial Dragon typing gaining a longer snout with a new horn actual wings so it can fly for some extra mobility and overall just looking like a complete Menace this form also Taps a bit more into the chimeric nature of its other inspiration the MAA being a mix between an elephant fish and sometimes a peacock with that trunk like snout on full display I said gargoyle here is first up but that doesn't mean there's an order to each boss you can tackle them in any order and they will level scale though they will be set to a level 25 minimum so you will probably need a couple badges under your belt before taking them on or you could just cheese it like the salt cure Strat I don't know I'm not your mom and how exactly will you get to each of these temples well with the trusty new and improved ROM Bike plus which M deck help bring to life this would essentially serve as your kidon or maridon equivalent being able to swim climb and even fly with this bad boy you would get upgrades as you progress through the different story lines so let's take that bike and ride it down to the Rasha jungle where we'll find another hidden temple deep within its Vine ridden bowels MCH eat your heart out the guardian of this Temple and the bosses for the rest of this video are Pokémon not yet introduced in this series so before we get into this Temple's boss let's take a look at its first stage meet cival the jittery Pokémon a grass electric type who I worked with Trev art and fusman to create this little Restless Pokemon is based on the Asian Palm civit which can be found all across India and most of Southeast Asia this adorable creature as its name suggests spends a lot of time in the trees which makes for a great grass type and some of you may already know where its electric type comes in the Asian poem civit is well known for its use in making a special kind of coffee called copy luach where the civet is fed and partially digests coffee cherries before defecating them for use I hope you weren't eating or drinking coffee there so cival is a super caffeinated civit that gets extreme amounts of energy from the berries it consumes getting abilities like Harvest ripen and even a new move called caffeinate where it consumes the berry it is holding and in addition to the Berry's effects it will raise civil special attack and speed basically like stuffed cheeks Citrus or Paya berries could go pretty crazy with this move after reaching level 25 and using caffeinate 20 times cival evolves into battery the exhausted Pokémon what happens when you drink too much caffeine over an extended period of time you crash and probably become caffeine addicted where it has less of an effect I'm speaking from personal experience here this scungy guy is based on the bentur wrang another Vivid found in Southeast Asia which are also sometimes used to make copil luach and that can be seen in bateri with its toes looking like little coffee beans giving toe beans a whole new meaning binturongs are also known to emit an odor that smells like popcorn so baty would smell like coffee but bentong just look like they're so done with your crap at all times much the same as benty this Pokemon is grumpy becoming slower and more sluggish than its previous stage caffeinate doesn't even work on it anymore because of its new ability called cism absorbing any stat changes on the field to try and gain some kind of energy But ultimately nullifying them for both you and for your opponent so you can't set up but neither can your opponent it's a real double-edged sword it's pretty much like neutralizing gas but for stat changes bat's name comes from bentur wrang and Battery but in the middle of its name is tatter as in how tattered looking this big old kagin is but things flip on their head again when benty spear Rises it has gone full Super Saiyan with speise energy flowing through it removing all its ailments and granting it the energy from its previous stage it so Longs for a true Awakening in every sense of the word while spir forms already stick to one main color for their design it can also be used with batteries to reference blonde roast coffee from there we will head Northwest and make our way up to the town of son and Deere which is based on the town of Amar with its famous golden temple one of the holiest sites for seeks being what our next Temple is based on moving from two secret temples to a very much known Temple the residents of this Temple protect the information held within it while using it as a hub for the community to meet Converse and eat together much like the actual Golden Temple but within its depths is a boss Pokémon that the temple Guardians raise and train as a part of tradition but let's meet its base stage first so here is Alma the golden Pokémon a pure water type who I also worked with fusman to create it is based on an interesting kind of fish called the Golden masier which has very striking shimmery scales that shine like gold as its name implies and what better Pokémon to reside and be trained in a golden temple Alma's name comes from masier but also Au as in the symbol for gold on the periodic table of elements while Alma acts as the standard fish Pokémon you could find all over the region the largest and strongest population of them live in the lake surrounding son and Deere said to be the direct descendants of the very first Temple boss and speaking of let's evolve out ma into this Pokémon so at level 24 it becomes Saha the murol Pokémon a water Steel type that's right we got a reverse merfolk on our hands while we have mermaid-esque Pokémon with primarina and even the mermaids in the anime with Misty's performance we haven't actually had a fullon half fish half human Pokémon yet sahak is his name from the sahagin which originated as a fish man monster of the deep in Dungeons and Dragons and later became well known as an enemy race in the Final Fantasy game series with sahama taking more from its Final Fantasy 11 an Incarnation while I love making Pokémon based on my nerdy interests there is a connection to India here with the Incarnation of Vishnu called matsa which appears as a giant fish with a horn in some depictions but in others as a half man half fish sometimes even as what looks like a man being eaten by a fish which you can actually see referenced in the pattern around saha's waist along with its pose a clever addition fungus's made now let's spear eyes in this form it channels one of the tales about Maia found in the mahab bataa in which he with the assistance of a serpent helped a man named Manu and seven sages survive a great flood by pulling their boat and defeating a demon in the process in the story the boat is tied to mata's Horn so in sahas bison form its horn becomes the boat well at least boat-shaped all the while referencing the use of mermaids as figureheads of ships it also loses its legs which Falls more in line with mazia's usual depictions but also references the serpent behind mazia in the tail pun intended from there we r on down Southwest of mahonda to the calani temple which is based on the incredibly unique kyasa Temple and Aur caves found in the state of Maharashtra this is likely the temple most players would try to take on First with it being so close in proximity to your home and a plethora of gyms to help raise your levels a bit anyway let's introduce the base stage of this Temple's boss balom the Dig bear Pokémon a pure ground type this little cutie is based on sloth bear cubs and is in addition to the group of adorable little bear Pokemon like teddiursa cubu and Pancham its name comes from Baloo the Hindi word for bear and LOM which pertains to fertile soil gen 3 STS will know what I'm talking about sloth bear have unique claws perfectly equipped for digging up anthills and Termite Mounds which are a large part of their diet their noses are also specially adapted to close up so they can suck up bugs like a vacuum and these abilities are even further accentuated when bom evolves into terab bear The Big Dig Pokémon while its name might wreak of Talon flame itis it is actually meant to sound like terrible as in how destructive this Pokemon can be with those big meaty claws both its mouth and claws are meant to evoke the feeling of construction equipment with terab bear being able to dig straight through a mountain these holes are sometimes used to create train tunnels as you can no doubt tell this guy has also become one with the ant hill with it having a crown that looks like one and a necklace that mirrors what the inside of an anthill looks like this Earth encrusted bling isn't just a reference to the sloth bears dietary choices it also makes reference to the king of bears found across both the ramayan and the mahabarata jambavan which can also be seen in the pant like pattern on terab bear both the jambavan reference and terab Bear's destructive potential are even furthered when it spear Rises spear risen terab bear's claws are now even longer and better for digging and its body has become one giant termite or anthill it also takes on a more ferocious style of fighting which sloth bears are known for their aggressiveness towards humans and those claws don't just tear up the ground earning it a reputation as the world's deadliest bear jambavan was also known as a fast and ferocious fighter taking on Lord Krishna in a fight that lasted about 28 days now let's Head West of the town of chian nagri to this small Temple which is mostly ruins based on the Royal ruins of chatti in this small set of ruins you can find lots of the pre-evolution to the boss Pokémon here which are masine the spiky Pokémon a pure Steel type who I worked with an artist array to create this prickly pal has a fairly simple inspiration and overall concept it is based on the Indian spiny tailed lizard though instead of the spines being on its tail they go up its spine which of course is where it gets part of its name the other part of its name I will explain in its Evolution mastic the mace Pokémon this line gets its name from the genus of most spiny tailed lizards or tics though mastics is spelled like stick as in to push a sharp object through something though your attention is probably more drawn to this Pokémon's tail from which it gets its category this mace and this Line's steel typing are not only related because you know maces are typically made of metal but also refers to one of the pandavas the central characters of the mahabarata beima he is known to use a mace though it is not actually as spiky as its European counterpart there were many attempts on Bea's Life One such attempt was him being tied up poisoned and thrown into a lake well this lake so happened to be the home of the nagas who tried to bite him barely breaching his iron-like skin enough to get their venom in which counteracted the poison he had consumed in awe of his strength the Naga brought him to their King vasuki who had him drink a special Elixir that made him super strong and immune to all Venom and what is immune to the poison type steel and so it all comes together in this intimidating and strong Pokémon which becomes even more strong and intimidating when it spear rizes becoming by pedal and using its severed Tail as a weapon which of course refers to how some lizards can detach and regrow their tails though from what I understand spiny tailed lizards can't actually do that but hey it's a fun reference this Pokémon's General shape jawline and overall Vibe are all inspired by the infamous King of the Koopas Bowser this wouldn't be the first time Pokémon has made a Mario reference and the concept felt very fitting while mixing in elements of the bulky beima and his mace and for the final Temple and boss we head directly north to a temple based on the bongar fort one of the most haunted places in all of India so naturally the boss of this Temple should be a ghost type and much like the last Temple it will have much of its pre-evolutions hanging about so let's meet Pango ghost the Pengalin Pokémon a pure Ghost type its category says it all this Pokémon is based on the endearingly unique animal called the Pengalin the reason for its ghost typing I'm going to give a bit of a trigger warning for if you are sensitive to things dealing with animals being hurt skip to this time stamp here so Penh ghost typing much in the same vein as Kula with his environmental impact basis has to do with the fact that Pengalin are the most heavily trafficked animal in the world I won't show it here but Pango white body is reflective of how these animals look after being descaled it is incredibly tragic and these are some absolutely amazing animals that don't deserve this treatment I made this Pokémon line because I wanted to bring awareness to this cause if you want to help there are resources like save pangolins toorgle miasma as scales referring to a phantom limb the sensation of a body part existing despite the fact someone may not have it anymore I wanted to channel the same energy as Gan corsola with this design this absolutely adorable creature that looks just so sad to be a ghost on a much happier note one of the largest recorded Penguins is actually named ghost which its typing is a reference to Pango evolves though not quite into our boss Pokemon yet but into its middle stage pangul the ghoulish Pokemon the miasma likee scales of Pango have become a bit more solid becoming more armor-like its claws are much longer to the point where they Point backwards while Pengalin claws do typically Point backwards in combination with this Pokémon's type it acts as a reference to a special kind of zombie-like creature from Bengal culture called a boot boots usually have some kind of unresolved matter or improper funeral that keeps them on our plane of existence and are characterized as having feet that face backwards and some features that are upside down and finally pangul evolves into our boss Pokémon Pang Grudge the Revenge Pokémon pangle actually evolves into Pang Grudge in a bit of a unique way this Pokemon has to have absolutely zero in the Friendship stat for it to be able to evolve it must be so consumed by hatred that it is able to unlock this form a full Sith moment Pang Grudge as its name and category implies seeks revenge on those who bring about their base st's existence now in its final stage it has fully hardened armor made from concentrated paranormal energy the transformation of this armor across this line is inspired by a legend or crypted found in the chor fort of ristan called the abang Aku it is said to reside at the bottom of the Tower of victory that is in the fort and that only the enlightened or pure of heart can reach the top as one climbs the tower the abang Aku follows behind slowly changing colors with its body becoming more solid the higher the person climbs when someone reaches the top the creature reaches Enlightenment which is a perfect segue into Pang rud's spear risen form as Pina said in that previous video this is a weird one Pang rudge having speisen releases the shackles of Revenge and its armor-like body becomes soft and melty this refers to how after Enlightenment the abang akaku will sometimes return back to the bottom of the stairs and resume its old non-solid shape so this form is a full circle moment for the entire line and those are the boss Pokémon and their spear risen forms thank you all so much for watching and I will see you guys next time since the very beginning Pokémon have had counterparts whether it be because they were Rivals allies game exclusive or even that just fans associate them with each other so for my fakon region Devar I decided to make a bunch of different counterpart Pokémon a group of natural counterparts the fossil Pokémon are a great place to start considering that we haven't had a traditional pair of two-stage fossil Pokémon for three generations now and that so many people myself included want to see them again I felt that we should give them a major comeback so let me introduce you to the tusk and tail fossils which when revived become bmth and magoa let's hone in on bmth the rumbling Pokémon this little guy is Rock electric type and I worked with trainer Rex to create them it is based on an extremely famous extinct elephanted the woolly mammoth from which it gets half of its name with the other half coming from boom as in booming Thunder and this charge C certainly is woolly with its gray fur actually being cloudlike wool referencing how it tends to carry lots of static electricity but also looks like rainclouds bmth are small But Mighty with their resounding footsteps being known to shake the Earth beneath them causing Rock slides and cave-ins they become especially irritable if there are any magoa nearby and will try to shock them bmth at level 38 evolves into storth the crashing Pokémon the great cloudy wool of buth has darkened to a deep black becoming reminiscent of a severe thunderstorm this displays the sheer electrical power of this Pokémon a true master of Thunder which it summons forth with its signature move thunderous stomp a base 75 electric type physical attacking move that has a 10% chance to either Flinch or paralyze this Sovereign of Thunder is inspired by the king of Gods and Heaven in Hinduism Indra he is also a god of the sky lightning thunder rain rivers and War he rides a top his mystical mount aavata a white multi-headed and multi-used elephant and King in his own right which stormo's four-pronged tusks are made to reference while looking like branches of a lightning bolt aravat is also called The Elephant of the clouds and is known to produce them which is where both bmth and storth get their cloud-like wool the curly pattern in the clouds and the shape of stormo's ear is meant to reference indra's lightning summoning weapon of choice the vajra which further plays into this Pokemon's voltaic might now let's move to this Line's counterpart magoa the dry Pokemon I worked with tubz to create our hissing homie here which is a rock fire type magoa is based on the enormous prehistoric serpent the Titanoboa its horns naturally reference the Saharan or desert horned viper but also in combination with its fire typing refers to how makes are associated with demons and Devils magm moa's body is so hot that it dries out anything nearby and will actively try to dry out the wool of buth that are nearby in their time they tended to live in the harsh deserts of Devar and are said to be responsible for creating them alongside its Evolution rython the drought Pokémon as its category suggests this Pokemon can create severe droughts with drought being its main ability it also comes with a new move called dehydrate which removes the water type from its Target greately reducing the effectiveness of water type moves which it's quad weak to its name comes from its main inspiration vitra who is a Deana a race of aceras and is the personification of drought and as such is the natural-born enemy of Indra he is depicted as an enormous serpent that blocks rivers and holds the Waters of the world captive before being defeated by Indra this relationship is displayed with rython and storth furthering them as counterparts as unlike previous fossil Pokémon you would be able to find both of their fossils in the same game buried in the sand around the massive volana desert for a bit of a fun look behind the scenes after the design of rython was finished I was doing a bit of research for another video and Came Upon a creature from Brazilian folklore called the boata a fire Elemental horn serpent that is sometimes depicted with multiple fiery eyes so yeah I accidentally designed a boitata Pokémon before knowing it existed keeping with this whole fire and desert theme we have going on we move on to two bug type counterparts this time through game exclusivity but also in a few other ways first up we have a little ground type bug that goes by the name of helite the worker Pokémon which I worked with jjms to bring to life if you have been following this series from the beginning you will recognize this guy from the very first moments of the first video helite is based on termites which some species are known to build enormous Mounds made of saliva and soil so helite is a little worker with a built-in hard hat who with the help of its fellow helite builds massive colonies compared to their size and even by Pokémon standards their natural Predators would be balom and terab bear who we introduced in the previous Devar video as they dig up their mounts and try to eat them just like real life sloth bears and termites to help fight back and fortify their defense they evolve into dig Grill the driller Pokémon this Pokemon will dig several Escape Routes underneath the colony for an easy escape and will dig traps around it to help stall their predators so they can run if all else fails they will take them head on using their powerful hind legs and drill like hands to attack dig Grill is also highly adapted to dig deep underground where temperatures rise having abilities like heat proof or thermal exchange Dig's name is based on dig and the family of the mole cricet gillo talpa for which it also gets its design design inspiration their other design inspiration obviously comes from miners specifically gold miners this mixture of Concepts is based on a creature described to live in India 2 200 years ago by Greek philosopher Herodotus called the gold digging ants also known as MX indicios or Indian ants they were described as Fox siiz ant-like creatures which guarded Rich gold deposits in Ancient India while digil and helite are more ant adjacent Dig's behavior of guarding the mound takes from this creature with the metaphorical gold being the lives of its mount mates because the real treasure is the friends we made along the way Helm might and digil would be exclusive to Pokémon Jasper while in Pokémon Jade you would find its counterpart amm the worm Pokémon a fire bug type who I also worked with jjms to create this adorable arthropod is based on the caterpillar stage of the common windmill butterfly which is commonly found in syum and whose coloration might I say is well suited to a fire type the little spins of this creature are reflected on Ember to look like tiny little volcanoes all over its body as you have no doubt noticed no this Pokémon Bears a striking resemblance to the Head empty no thoughts ice bug from Galler snam that was intentional as this stage is a semi- rival to stom arrival in cuteness some fans have thought of the Volcarona line as counterparts to the frost moth line as they are both moths that you can get later in the game and opposite types regardless of that I wanted to make a more direct butterfly counterpart with that said Ember evolves into emberly the smoke Pokémon the common windmill caterpillar becomes this absolutely gorgeous butterfly fly that was begging to be made into a fire type it is a species of swallow tail and to me those branches at the bottom of the Wings looked just like billowing plumes of smoke with Embers floating through them so that is exactly what inspired this design this species of butterfly like many exhibits the behavior of puddling in which they try to extract nutrients from mud through the fluid so that would be Ember fly's ability puddling which raises their special attack by one stage when hit by a ground type move but they still take damage these two are counterparts with each other due to their games their abilities and are even counterparts with other Pokémon and one kind of counterpart that has turned into multiple counterparts now are the Pikachu clones so as expected deor has to have its own Pac clone who is DOI Boko the Restless Pokémon an electric ground type this worrisome cutie is based on the Indian hairy footed gerbal which inhabits the Sandy and Rocky areas of Western India and Pakistan like most Pika clones DOI boko's name is made from Japanese wordss or automat toia coming from dokidoki the sound of a heartbeating faster which anyone who has played doy DOI liter Club will completely understand but also comes from decoo meaning a hole in the ground or uneven Earth this plays into Doki Poo's personality it is in a near constant state of anxiousness which only elevates as this Pokémon stores more and more electricity it can only be calmed if it releases this nervous energy into the ground using its plug like tail or by feeding it to its Evolution BOS Sama the restful Pokémon unlike Doki Boko Boos absorbs electricity as a means of food filling it to the point where it gets very tired and goes into a food coma also unlike dokki Boko this Pokemon is based on the Indian Desert jerd a relative of Geral found in the tar desert BOS sama's name partly comes from Osama which is how kings are referred to in Japanese as this Pokemon is like the king of the DOI Boko bringing order to the chaos of their anxiousness and ultimately being a calming and grounding presence to them you can see it even has a crown-shaped tough of fur actually giving a purpose to the addition of hair upon Evolution looking at you pomat Super Saiyan looking little DOI Boko and boo sama's oddly shaped Tales refer to type c b d and M plug types that are used across India all right let's leave the desert and move into some other types shall we this next Pokémon is actually a counterpart to a regional form I made for my first region Cora I had made the ice poison type Cor in C Vier but many wondered what about zangus so for that I give you davarian zangus a pure Ghost type this awesome Apparition is based on the Indian folk tale called the Mongoose and the Brahman wife a shortened version of this story is that a pet mongoose is left in charge of protecting the child of a Brahman and his wife while they went out the wife was wary of the Mongoose and thought it may hurt the child after they left a cobra snuck into the child's room the Mongoose valiantly defended the child and killed the Cobra the Mongoose then heard the wife's footsteps and ran out to show the good job it had done but all the wife saw was its bloody mouth assumed it was the child's blood and threw a heavy box at the mongoose killing it afterward the wife saw the dead Cobra realized her mistake and was struck with deep regret the Box being what ended the Mongoose further plays into another aspect of devarian zango's inspiration being that of Schrodinger's Cat the thought experiment of a paradox in which a cat left inside an unobserved closed box May hypothetically be alive and dead at the same time just like a ghost who is neither alive nor fully dead as well as this Mongoose and cat-based Pokémon with the Mongoose coming from the same suborder as cats feliformia moving on let's take on two bird counterparts with one stone first we have a bird Pokemon you can find up north in the frost cap barar mountain range prism monol the Aurora Pokémon an ice flying type who I worked with trainer mats to bring to life this polychromatic pheasant is based on the Himalayan monol the national bird of Nepal it is also designed after depictions of the hamsa bird which is an aquatic migratory bird typically thought of as a kind of swan Goose or even a flamingo but with the mono living in an icy habitat which is water adjacent I thought it would be a nice twist the Himalayan monal's coloration and habitat were so unique and made for a great ice type prism mono glimmers brightly as it flies across the barar mountains it has often caused inaccurate reports of Articuno visiting Devar those reports are usually by those visiting from Kanto for its counterpart we head south to just above the city of carbonophosphates Wing jakana which like the monol has this gorgeous rainbow coloration to it though it is a bit more subtle these are also probably the birds you've seen online with four pairs of legs as they store their young up in their plumage jum's design also draws inspiration from a creature found in Hinduism and Buddhism called ainara which are beautiful human bird hybrids jum's coloration is taken from the Gilded statues depicting the canara further playing into its partial steel typing these two are counterparts in their locations and in that they represent different types of rainbow or Prismatic phenomena water/ ice and metal speaking of metal our next Pokémon is a counterpart to a metallic fan favorite line that just got a new Evolution poniard Bisharp and King Gambit India invented what is believed to be the precursor to chess chaturanga so either I was going to make a regional form or what I actually did which was make a brand new line that mirrors them and fills the rest of the missing chest pieces so let me introduce you to Rooker and narge the round Shield Pokémon and the blunt Shield Pokémon which are both steel fairy type the natural opposite of swords is Shields right I mean that's what Pokémon said so if you disagree you're just wrong rooker's name comes from rook and buckler a smaller medieval rounded Shield n charger's name comes from Knight andarge a bit of a larger rounded Shield upon defeating Three N Chargers that are holding a ruler's Crest and leveling up narge evolves into Queen Das The multi- Shield Pokemon this Pokemon is the ultimate queen of Defense with one of the best defensive typings in the game and a bulky Bill to match this refers to its inspiration the chess move known as the Queen's Indi in defense this ain't a ruler that rests on its Laurels Queen is a tactful commander in its own right and is frequently at odds with King Gambit and its pre-evolutions Queen Dash's name comes from queen and rondos a larger rounded Shield yes I could have gone with the root of calling it Queen Gambit and reference that chess move but I feel this name and move better represent the overall concept and region plus it makes it its own Pokemon separate from King Gambit while still being a counterpart but for some counterparts that are more directly tied together we have a pair of split evolutions for a Pokémon based on a world famous Napo creature the yeti so I present you with yat the yeti Pokémon a pure ice type this cuddly crypted is just as friendly and affectionate as they look people in the village of him and dapu often have this Pokemon as their starter because its demeanor is so welcoming and easygoing making it a great first companion and with it having two different Evolutions it makes it versatile for later gyms as well for the first evolution at level 35 during the day time yot evolves into shanable the light Yeti Pokémon an ice fairy type this Pokemon Is A Healer it is revered in villages across the barbar mountains and are believed to be The Originators of holistic medicine across Devar shable signature ability is Mystical cure which heals any status condition of one member in the party upon being switched out of battle kind of the opposite of the natural cure ability which it also would be capable of having and for yt's second evolution at level 35 during the night time it evolves into a bomb AG the dark Yeti Pokémon an ice dark type quite the opposite of shanable this Pokémon uses odd and destructive moves though a bit Sinister it is still respected for its magical prowess abom AG's signature ability is Strange Magic which automatically forces super effective moves used against it to go last I know ice dark isn't a hugely viable type due to its many weaknesses but it is still a really cool type combo pun intended with sneez and weev being the only two with it until chenow who proved it could be used competitively anyway these two Evolutions have a common theme that I'm sure Final Fantasy fans have already taken note of their designs are inspired by the classic looks of the White Mage and black mage I'm always happy to sneak in references to other RPGs with my Fakemon as game freak does this themselves and I'm a huge nerd about them though this connection was not out of nowhere these two Evolutions are also inspired by a creature from nari folklore called AIA they are mythical hairy aplike creatures that appear in children's stories and come in different colors the white Kia are said to be Bringers of goodness and good luck to the home while the black ya create problems and encountering one can make you ill thus the connection to these RPG classes with the same color choices I tried to be unique as the yeti is a super popular crypted and thus many Fakemon have been made using them as an inspiration so I am very proud of how this line came out and those were some counterpart Pokémon of the Devar region thank you all so much for watching and I will see you guys next time as of generation 9 there are nine unused type combinations in Pokémon with each gen giving us seven or eight new type combinations it would make sense for the Next Generation to just fill the rest with new Pokemon or Regional forms so for my fake Bon region Devar I decided to do exact L that hey everyone Brandon here with Devar being based on India Nepal and parts of the surrounding area I wanted to have these new type combos be as unique in their Concepts as the typings themselves that being said nearly half of the type combos are part normal despite a few already existing Pokemon being perfect fits for some of them which is especially odd when you consider normal has the second largest population of Pokémon to date the only things that aren't normal here are the fact that these type combos are still unused and the fact that you still haven't hit that like button comment or subscribed yet let's fix both of those things shall we there are a couple of these normal type combos we've already discussed in previous videos for normal Rock and normal steel we have a couple of Evolutions to the early root normal types stag Pine and CER based on the Indian crusted porcupine and the Indian rhino respectively to learn even more about them and their base stages you can check out this video here now on to some new things a kind of Unwritten rule I made for myself after my first region corera was that I was going to make more original Pokémon since corera was so Regional form heavy and for these type combos I had another rule whatever type combo I had made a regional form for before I would try to make a new Pokemon for Devar and vice versa so last time for normal ice I had made an original Pokémon therefore I'm going to make a regional form this time so without further Ado here is davarian sko the mountain Pokémon an ice normal type who I worked with jjms on these skle are highly adapted for the harsh cold weather and steep mountains of the barwar mountain range they have abandoned their grassy coat in favor of a warmer fluffier one and the grass typing along with it its ability would very naturally be fur coat helping it resist physical moves like most fighting type moves are which it is quad weak to actually three of the four normal type combos in this video are quad weak to fighting and might be why game freak is hesitant to fill them but they like all other Pokemon and their type combos deserve to exist despite how bad they may be competitively anyway at level 32 davarian Skittle evolves into davarian go-o also the mountain Pokémon with even more dense fur and an even more adventurous temperament this go-o proudly roams all over its mountainous home without fear of falling as it is very Adept at climbing on even the steepest Mountain faces unlike its kosian counterpart this go- goat is much more difficult to ride and takes a very skilled Handler or trainer to master riding it devarian Gogoat and sko are obviously based on General mountain goats which are known for climbing seemingly impossible Cliffs but they are also based on the very fluffy Himalayan tar like other mountain goats the tar has great mobility and has actually had great success as an invasive species in countries like New Zealand Argentina and even the us because of this the extra styling on this coat also acts as a reference to a very famous kind of goat that gets its name from the Indian subcontinent the Kashmir goat whose wool is highly sought after for its use and clothing this Pokémon is also a reference to the sherpa people of Nepal who actually have a genetic predisposition for high altitudes called the super athlete Gene this has led to the profession called a sherpa which describes a mountain guide usually in the context of climbing Mount Everest for which many used to be a part of the sherpa Community but there's an important distinction here between the sherpa people and the profession as the over tourism of Mount Everest is something that has become a worse and worse issue as time goes on rich people come to climb the mountain don't show it the respect it deserves and so we have more and more trash covering it each year leading to pollution of the water runoff which affects local people yet another uncool rich person moment devarian Goot is actually an ally in Mountain conservation as it is very territorial of the mountains and will try to headbutt climbers to scare them off this Frosty headbutt is actually a new move this is basically just an ice type version of Zen headbutt but just like ice Fang also has the chance to freeze the target onto our last normal type combo we have normal bug and yet another Regional form a Pokemon that is often overlooked is the little Meek wimpod the hulking galissa pod is the star of the show in this line so just like Magikarp and Feebas wimpod is evolved as soon as possible so instead of abandoning the Wimpy elements of wimpod why don't we embrace them with that said here is devarian wimpod in its new split Evolution this aod the hard cover Pokémon who I worked with de's Fakemon to create both of them are bug normal type and are based on a few things first off they are based on silverfish despite its name it's actually a type of wingless insect known for its interesting diet which I will talk about in a second this creature comes from the order zygoma but was formerly categorized under the deprecated thura which is where thop pod gets part of its name but that th sound also comes from thesaurus because of the silver fish's well-known love of eating books wimpod and thop pod love to consume books as well but they also consume the knowledge of those books with them they are literally book worms I mean not totally worms but worm adjacent their coloration is inspired by the steps of the National Library of India found in Kolkata which apparently had a secret room that was discovered in 2010 that I think could play into this line well rather than liking alola you could find wimpod running in and out of wall holes in libraries across Devar The Librarians would task you with a side quest to do pest control on these Pokémon in the process discovering a secret room with a bunch of wimpod and a thop pod holding lectures also thop pod isn't golisopod so it would need its own ability which I decided to name check out as in checking out a book from the library this ability has this aod automatically switch out of battle if it is affected by a status condition leaving behind the normal types but staying with bugs we have the infamous bug dragon type this combo has had many opportunities to Premiere already with the most egregious in my book being slitherwing like look at this thing it is literally a draconic dinosaur bug and you cannot convince me otherwise but I cooked something up for this type combo that I think works incredibly well so allow me to introduce flya the amalgam Pokemon that I worked with jjms on as well as its name and category imply this Pokémon is a mixture of things the wings of a dragonfly the eyes of a fly the fluffy Mane of a moth the mandibles of a bee the front legs of a locust which are actually the back legs but we switched them to the front the actual back legs of an ant and the tail of a scorpion this multi-part mixture refers to a creature from Hinduism called the navag gundura a mythical creature composed of nine different animals while we couldn't quite make nine different insects work in one Pokémon I think seven is decently close but the way these insects are combined also refers to another chimeric creature that hails from India but is actually from Persian and Greek mythology the manacor a mixture of man lion Scorpion and sometimes a bat anacor was also in the running to be this thing's name but fera was way more clever in my opinion fera are highly adaptable creatures due to the variety of their physical features they can thrive in almost all environments except cold ones their signature ability chimeric plays into this giving them a boost in different stats depending on if there is a Terrain out grassy terrain boosts HP electric terrain boosts speed Misty terrain boost special defense and psychic terrain boost special attack and speaking of special we move on to a super unique type combo ice poison with such an unusual pairing of types it is deserving of an unusual inspiration so let's take a look at this tree pretty unassuming right well this tree is hiding a secret a deep dark Deadly Secret this little fruit here this tree is called the strios nuu vamik also known as the stricken or poison fruit tree this fruit contains a special kind of toxin called stricking that if consumed has some very deadly effects such as muscle spasms that lead to a fever this form of poison was actually a favorite of writer Agatha Christie and was used in the murder of a few characters across her many books the inside of the strick nine fruit and the powdered version are both white and crystalline just like snow and ice on top of that the stricking tree blooms in Winter and remember how I said the poison can give you a fever you know the thing Infamous for making you feel cold these Inspirations all culminate in our ice poison types albino the chilling Pokémon and xenox the Fatal Pokémon albino is a joyous little fruit-like Pokémon evoking Pokémon like BounceU and cherubi even though it isn't a grass type I also used Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy as an inspiration for the body shape xenox on the other hand is full-on flower based much the same as the glamora line that look like a flower despite being Rock poison type and it certainly isn't like your other flower wuss it may look all cute and innocent but this Pokémon is a fatal the literary Trope of an attractive or seductive person who lures you in with their good looks before stabbing you in the back both figuratively and literally specifically the Diana version of this Trope dressed in white to look saintly and innocent while Agatha Christie didn't really use this Trope that literary inspiration is meant to reference her use of stricking alinu and Xenu are usually found at the base of the barbar mountain range Xenu will lure a prey with an alluring smell that their petals can give off when the prey is close enough Xenu will freeze it solid and then inject it with poison this line also sort of acts as a counterpart to the padm line I previously introduced with their typings as well as their personalities being complete inverses of each other albino's name comes from albanism the conditional absence of melanin making every part of the body colorless or white and Nu coming from its inspiration the strios nox FICA xenu's name comes from Frozen or Zenith and Nu so if it's a counterpart why wasn't it in the counterparts video last month because I wanted to save it for this one silly the same can be said about our next entry which is also an inverse of types from our last combo fire fairy one of the best things I find to do when making a fairy type is to look to fairy tales and there just so happens to be a Sanskrit one that I found to be a great inspiration for a Pokémon the legend is of a beautiful woman who agreed to marry a king on one condition that he never show her a single drop of water of course one day he did and she immediately sank out of sight just as the sunset sinks into the sea transforming her into a frog named bakey so with that said allow me to introduce Tad Cole the firetail Pokémon a pure fire type and bakro the sunfrog Pokemon a fire fairy type who I worked with fusman to bring to life we have had a grass frog Pokémon and several water frog Pokémon so with this we finally get a firefrog Pokémon this line especially brro takes inspiration from the Indian Bullfrog which males sport this bright yellow and blue coloration during The Mating Season if you had the thought gee bcro sure looks a lot like poly toad you would be absolutely correct and that was intentional poly Toto across its many deck entries is known as the king of Poliwag and poir so bakro is the queen to its king just like bakey formerly was a queen polyot is known for using rain dance and so bakro would of course learn sunny day speaking of sun you can see the little Suns across Barro's design as well as what looks like sunlight coming from its mouth to fully lean into its category and inspiration on to yet another fairy type and the pseudo legendary of the Devar region I very much wanted to break from the dragon type pseudo pattern as we have had two two very solid examples of what that can look like in the past and I've done it before with Cora so I wanted to continue that Trend the G people of India have within their folklore a creature of terrifying size and strength the wak mongoni aragundi a primordial demon pig as tall as a mountain with seven heads lined with tus as sharp as a scimitar well that sounds quite ferocious why a Fairy Type well this creature wasn't always this way in fact the three uncles of the hero who eventually slayed this Beast brought it home as a pet who in a sty Made of Stone H three brothers and a pig who lives in a house made of stone why does that sound so familiar oh I got it so here is wck the piglet Pokemon a ground fairy type who I also worked with jjms to create this little oinker represents the wak mangan's adorably innocent Origins like many pseudo lines B Pokémon in general Who start off as cute and cuddly creatures before transforming into behemoths of mass destruction it also represents the first little pig who built its house out of straw with wto's hair and tail looking like said straw its name comes from walk which means Pig and Garo and stack as in a hay stack at level 35 walk stck evolves into walk-walk the dublet Pokémon you know what they say two ads are better than one and Pokemon seems to agree if we can have multiple dragon flying type pseudos I think we can have multiple multi-headed pseudos too all right with this second head we also get the second little pig who made their home out of sticks shown by the more spiky or sticky hair you may have noticed a few other details also multiplied with this design as we have established walk means Pig and Garo so its name is literally just pig pig which is so funny to me but works given it is two pigs put together you could also work in the idea of whack as in like whacking someone with a stick look I I know it's a stretch Just Go With It finally at level 45 walk-walk evolves into WP the triplet Pokémon you know what they say three heads are better than two Pokémon also seems seems to agree with that could you scooch over him a little bit anyway wpo is an absolute Beast whose stomping tantrum is unmatched and absolutely this monstrosity is physically bulky the final little pig is brought into this design with the middle head which has a more blocky hair like the bricks of the final house was made of but also kind of looks like a pineapple now I'm hungry you know who else is wacp who is constantly eating with those three mouths lined with razor sharp tusks it will eat anything much like pigs who are not picky about what they eat as such wpac would have the ability Earth eater and a new hidden ability called iron eater which works just like Earth eater but for steel types is that broken for a ground fairy type maybe but I don't really care wp's name comes from walk and pack as in a group of something and finally for the ghost rock type we won't be discussing it quite yet which I know is a bit of a bummer but it's for a good reason it is because that type is held by the main legendary for one of two DLC expansions coming to the Devar region that we will be diving into in a Leaders so in my own Pokémon region Devar based on India Nepal and parts of the surrounding area I continued that Trend with the spear eyes phenomenon a gimmick that reverts Pokémon into a form of infinity energy making them strong and weak against all types and this gimmick would play a major role in the three story lines of the game much like scarlet and violet had but with a little bit more overlap between them we have already covered what majorly happens in the uncovering the ancient story line and some of the spear eyes forms that come along with it in this video here make sure to like anyway you would receive your rodm bike plus and the Devar region would be mostly open for you to explore you could challenge the 12 gyms of the Devar region in any order and they will level scale but they will be capped at earning eight badges so let's head to what would likely be most people's first gym the rock type gym found in the gem encrusted city of vaj rad which is based on Hyderabad with its leader Al the Jeweler but wait looks like we have someone waiting in front of the gym for us oh it's Kumar again hey there lowi I was just about to challenge the first gym I guess you'll do for a warmup you may have bested my team in mahand but don't think for a second you have some kind of leg up on me I will win this battle and beat this gy leader too Kumar will have his same hanger and scrap up from before but we'll add a mass bind to his team as well well I'm still not losing to this gym see you later Lo life wow that was fun anyway let's head into the gym Al mrs's Jim would center around her job of being a jeweler in which you would have to crack open different rocks to see if there are Jewels or Pokémon inside once you get all five of the jewels you are asked to collect you a challenger quite the Exquisite Stones you have brought me young Challenger my name is Almas and I run the top jewelry company in Devar the lavish accessories I create are as beautiful and sturdy as my Pokemon allow me to show you Alma's team would consist of stag Pine the magoa line and carbon which would be her spear ice Pokémon becoming spear risen carbank that I worked with deams Fakemon to create for this form I wanted to channel some of the elements of diany while making it still feel like a loyal Soldier it's like a little Paladin Rock defeating alas would earn you the jewel badge after claiming our first Victory and getting us 1/4 of the way through completing our trainer qualification exam we are once again greeted with a certain Destiny themed group of troublemakers trying to stop more people from taking the exam you all are wasting your time if you fail they're just going to make your lives miserable so might as well just not take it fight back with us so we can change this dumb system ug you again buzz off kid or I'm going to make you this battle would play out pretty much the same as it did back in mahonda with the devarian Shish added to their team being the only real thing of note after defeating them they will reveal there are team fate operatives all over Devar trying to stop the trainer qualification exam or tqe for short about 70 operatives to be exact you have to find and defeat them in order to complete the fighting fate story line you are literally fighting fate a lot story encounters like this will count towards the total so you actually only need to search for about 55 out in the wild and much like collecting Pokémon for the Dex did in scarlet and violet defeating team fate members will earn you rewards most importantly upgrades to your rodm bike plus that will make it easier to Traverse the map speaking of traversing the map we're going to be doing that a lot in this video but if you want to become and Pokémon oh let us see samir's team would consist of the hamrin line the swabl line and his spear ice Pokemon would be jaanum that I worked with trainer Matts to make this form enhances upon the beauty of this Pokemon giving it a shimmering gold coloration much like the statues of the canara that jaanum is inspired by defeating Samir would earn you the arrow badge at this point is around the time you would run into Pina again who says hey I'm ready to explore one of these temples and discover more about the mysteries of the Legendary Pokémon which means you can head to your first temple and challenge the spear eyes Pokémon there which one well there's a Temple directly northwest of vajat you could take on Pina will be paying you a hefty some for these Expeditions so if not to learn more about the Legends you can take on these temples to get paid after either taking on your first temple or just skipping it I don't know I'm not your mom you could head to gym number three you can go any way you want from here but I recommend either heading east to the city of viaka inspired by the city of vaka poam with their gym leader Serita the dancer who specializes in water types or you could head north to the town of kashina inspired by both the city of varasi and the kuma Festival out in prage which is not too far from varasi anyway Kash gym leader is Janu the sage who specializes in psychic types if you challenge the viaka gym you will be expected to move like the waves in a dance challenge timing out the button presses to impress Sarita who is based on lakmi Naran tripati a trans or canar rights activist and incredible dancer Well you certainly know how to Aqua step it up then I will Grace you with a battle against the one and only Serita my Pokémon and I flow together with The Grace Of The Rising tide let's dance serita's team would consist of an irid dis which which are very important in vakin culture Vaporeon and the squirtel line which would be their spear eyes Pokémon becoming spear eyes Blastoise that I worked with fungus man to create this form is partly inspired by the bedang Nala or the world turtle with these incarnations having serpents swirling around them I also took inspiration from the black tortoise of Chinese mythology the more fluffy aspects make reference to war turtle and its evolution in the beta version of Pokémon red and blue defeating Sarita would earn you the ocean badge back to kha if you were to challenge its gym you would run around a a large Temple finding different prayers to recite in front of statues of legendary Pokémon scattered around the gym once you have recited the proper prayer in front of each of the statues the door will open to the chamber containing the gym leader welcome young one I Janu humbly serve as this Gym's leader I believe that through the resonance between Pokemon and trainer we can find true peace let us both give this battle our best Jan's team would consist of Orin Guru darari and conf and his spear ice Pokémon would be metat Tama who I worked with anartist array to create this form reflects the enlight m m of Lord Buddha for which metat is inspired by defeating Janu would earn you the meditation badge after leaving the gym you would be immediately greeted by a very handsome and adventurous looking trainer ha a gym Challenger a Victorious one at that how many gym badges later what an eccentric guy at this point it would probably be best for you to head to the second temple which I'm sure Pino would be excited about with there being one hidden in the Rasha jungle to the east of both vaka and kashina the fourth gym is one with a special circumstance so while we could go to Kiti which is even further to the east I highly recommend braving the volana desert to get to the castle town of STI which is inspired by the city of Jaipur but before you can even enter the city you run into trouble and make it double both Kumar and team fate are outside the enormous protective walls of STI you will not stop me from getting into zti to challenge my brother in complete this exam you want to bet you hear a much larger and intimidating team fate member standing at the front of the group yeah it is my destiny to win and surpass my brother there is no winning in this oppressive system we live in kid the quicker you learn that the better if you want to find the true strength to crush your enemies the power to change your fate join us I would never join a bunch of L lives like you thanks but no thanks suit yourself all right grunts let's show this brat you would then rush to Kumar's Aid with a double battle with this team fate admin and a grunt the admin has a gargoyle and a honchkrow and the grunt would have a goon cash and a devarian Furret after defeating them you hear from behind the group that's enough Amar out steps a team fate grunt with a strange helmet you've made your point no sense of grouping up on literal children all right fine you heard the boss let's roll out crew team fate leaves and you see Kumar enter STI he looks a little bit shaken the gym challenge for STI would be climbing through the near Labyrinthian structure of STI Castle getting clues along the way as to which doors you should enter through in order to reach the top to face its gym leader rati the king who is also the brother of Kumar is a ground type specialist and is inspired by Prince man vandra sing goil who is considered to be the first openly gay Prince of India well this is quite the surprise it's rare for me to see one Challenger each week let alone two in a single day welcome I am Ry in this battle you not only face me but the hopes and dreams of the kingdom of STI itself can you handle the might of that Ra's team is made up of the contains a bug type gym or Head East to the city of agore inspired by Agra home to the world famous tajmahal and challenge the fire type gym there chian Nag's gym would challenge you to run around collecting silks from different bug Pokémon matching a certain pattern which would then be made into clothing after a few rounds each becoming more challenging you would then be able to take on the gym leader bamari the Weaver hello there child it seems our Destinies have woven together for a battel I am of the eldest gym leaders and in my time I've learned many a things so don't go easy on me rari's team has a theme to it consisting of the ariados line the tarantula line and her speise Pokemon would be the Galvantula line speise Galvantula who I worked with jjms on has a web of pure electric energy that it weaves I thought for a spider- based spear eyes form giving it a web was a must and the most unique web would definitely come from this line defeating buari would earn you the web badge after that you could take on agar's gym challenge which would be a tour of the city given by its gym leader pavak the guide who would quiz you on different facts about the monuments found there that you would learn about throughout the tour completing the tour and quiz would Grant you access to the Gym's inner sanctum to pavak how did you enjoy agore was my tour to your liking make sure to rate it on poke trip all right tour aside you have earned yourself a gym battle so let's get right down to it pavak team would be the Ember line the tadco line and their spear eyes Pokemon fully evolved at this point in the game so allow me to introduce the spear I forms for thorn guo and vasami Thorn's new form further expands on its ban tree inspiration spreading out a second tree from its back or it could even be interpreted as a third horn speaking of horns gooes have become the focal point of its spear eyes form with its Earth en coding coming up and out even more similar to its inspiration of agangi redu vun nami's bubbles now expand out in Serpentine shape with its speise form reflect cting the multiple heads of its inspiration vasuki and shesha and with these new speit forms at your disposal you could feel free to head to the temple just west of chagi but unlike previous encounters if you have progressed the gym story line you will find your rival outside the temple before you and Pina arrive hey this Temple sure is interesting it shows such vivid imagery of the Legendary Pokémon of this region they wield such incredible power how how did you beat my brother yet here I am with my dream left shattered well I'm going to prove I don't need some stupid test to show how strong I am who more team will have significantly improved since your last fight now having a mongrel devarian Brum and one of the fully evolved starters you didn't pick that is strong against yours which can speise just like yours can where did he come across that either way it won't matter as you soundly beat him I don't care how but I will beat you see you soon kid I think he forgets we're the same age either way you would head into the fourth temple and take on the spear I Pokemon there after that is the sixth gym which could either be fighting or ghost heading to the cities of mambia or bua respectively mambia is inspired by the city of Mumbai home to the famous Bollywood so of course this gym challenge would have you starring in a movie Alla pokéstar Studios complete with action romance and of course a dance sequence for the final round Upon finishing your new blockbuster you would be able to challenge the gym leader and director of the movie cavia The Star she is inspired by various Bollywood actresses but most prominently Priyanka Chopra excellent job you've got real star potential but you aren't just here to pad your pmdb you want a battle huh well prepare yourself for an award-winning challenge cavia team would be made up of either the devarian coner or devarian matamp lines depending on which game you're playing the toxic Coke line and her spe eyes Pokemon would be the r ler line spirus ranger further expands on its inspiration of Hanuman and adds a bit of Sun Wukong from Chinese mythology who is said to be inspired by Lord Hanuman defeating cavia would earn you the Action Badge and if you chose to go to bua instead there seems to be two people chatting in front of the crowd surrounding the gym yeah dude I'll make sure to sneak some of your favorites in this set list the other person remains quiet righteous man for sure I'll catch rotation battle perfect for a DJ so his three Pokemon would be the Jensen line the Pang Grudge line and his spear I Pokémon is actually a bit of a unique case using the speise Phenomenon with spiritum actually triggers a new Evolution so meet in liom the enlightened Pokémon a ghost fairy type the odd Keystone is now a statue that reflects Lord Buddha reaching Enlightenment with spiritomb acting as the light shining behind his head my thought behind this Evolution was what would it look like if all 108 Spirits within spiritomb all ascended to a higher plane of existence and so this is what fungus and I came up with originally this was going to be a speise form but it worked so well as an evolution that we decided to change the concept I know this makes the second Lord Buddha inspired Pokemon in this video but both Concepts were too good for me to scrap one defeating slime would earn you the zombie badge but you wouldn't be able to celebrate for long as team fate is up to its old tricks outside of town this time stealing trainers Pokémon so they definitely can't complete the tqe oh you were that brat I keep hearing the other grunts talk about well you won't beat me that easily seventh gym is next and you just so happen to be Lo located in between two options either Ice in himu or poison in Kiti If You Trek up the foothills of the barwar mountains to the Village of himu which is inspired by Kathmandu the capital of Nepal you would be greeted outside the gym by its leader nihar the Mountaineer nihar is inspired by Mountaineer and guide of the first recorded Summit of Mount Everest Tenzing norg oh you must be here to challenge the gym my name is nihar and I've run the gym here but spend most of my time climbing these mountains this is actually where my gym challenge takes place I'll meet you at the top for our official battle anyway as nihar said you would climb up the large main mountain here to meet him at its peak battling trainers and wild Pokémon along the way without the use of your rodm bike plus but once you reach the summit wow you made surprisingly quick work of that climb perhaps you are as worthy a trainer as you are a climber well if you thought that Trek was cold just prepare to face my team the's team would consist of the devarian go-o line a bomb age or sham itable depending on which game you are playing and his spear eyes Pokémon would be prism monal this form just furthers its inspiration of the hamsa bird growing its tail and Crest out to look even more like depictions of said bird upon defeating Nahar you would earn the frost badge and if instead you decided to go to Kiti which is based on Kolkata the capital and largest city in West Bengal to challenge its gym leader locks the artist you enter the gym and would be greeted by an interactive Art Museum filled with graffiti in order to make it a locks you will participate in a mini game where you spray paint a few walls in the gym where you're given a prompt for each it doesn't matter how much or how little you paint they will let you pass pass because it's all about self-expression but you should give it some effort if you just paint a DOT a trainer will pick up on that and battle you anyway once your masterpie are complete you will reach locks great work out there hope my challenge helped you express the creative side of yourself I'm locks my art we make our way to the final gym in carban aore which is based on both the cities of bangaluru and madarai with its gym leader Lotus the techie the gym challenge would consist of you collecting pieces of a computer from trainers to eventually build one the trainers will also give you a hint as to what the passcode on the computer is once you finish building it as soon as you enter the passcode the door to lotus's room would open hello my name is lotus I used to run the macro Cosmos Tech division in the gar region but my cousin Rose sent me here a while back to be CEO of the devart branch I also became a gym leader because of my love of Steel type Pokémon so needless to say I don't have much spare time let's finish this battle quickly so I can get back to work as Lotus said he is a cousin to Rose and thus also a cousin to piony as such his team would start off with none other than coar after that would be magnone and his spear ice Pokémon would be mastic defeating Lotus would earn you your final badge the tech badge and would give you the ability to challenge the elite four of the Devar region which can be found in devar's capital and the first city you ventured into mahonda and to those wondering since Devar has 12 gyms and you only need eight badges to get into the Elite 4 you would be able to challenge the remaining gyms in the postgame as well as rematch the gym leaders you beat with them having improved teams anyway this Elite Four like jens's 5 through 7 would allow you to pick the order in which you challenge each member so let's get started with an Elite 4 member you've actually already met the electric specialist zapir as you enter his room you would be greeted by two large generators that connect to a speaker system fiddling with the speakers would be zapir pina's mom indr her room would look like it was pulled straight from a princess fairy tale elegant pinks and rose gold everywhere with many cute Pokémon cuddling around the room ah you must be my surprisingly humbly decorated given the Grandeur of the title The Champion is someone you met very briefly along your journey so allow me to formally introduce Azar it's you champ I knew when I ran into you that lergo would one day have us meet again since I was in such a hurry I forgot to introduce myself my name is Azar I love all of Devar from its Rich history to its advancements in modern technology I am proud to reside over this land as its champion and though I have a bit of a LAX personality I take that title very serious iously so are you ready to ascend to a new level of Pokémon expansion of its prior design tropes while also getting a little Marilyn Monroe moment I wanted the Champions team to be fierce and tanky but graceful at the same time representing the strength and beauty found within Devar after fiercely battling your way through Azar's team wow champ you did it you fulfilled the nickname I gave you just like I thought you would you are the new champion of Devar congratulations the game would then cut to Black and come up on a scene of your character walking out of the grand hall and a parade of characters you met along your journey would be there to congratulate you on this outstanding accomplishment you would then be gifted with the final Badge of the league the Champions badge and if you've completed the other story lines before reaching this point this cut scene will play out differently as you reach the end of the parade you notice Kumar what is he go Jensen use hypnosis wait what is happen you awaken in a completely different place it looks like one of the temples you explored with Pina but it's different and you're tied to one of the pillars it's then that you notice there are a bunch of Team fate grunts around and the one with the helmet walks up to you hello there Champion congrats on the recent promotion honestly you saved us a lot of work trying to capture Azar so thank for beating him yeah I appreciate you giving my brother The Humbling he deserves now we can move forward with our plan to summon one of the Legendary Pokémon of this region we are here in this Temple to bring it forth using the power of the strongest trainer in the region to reset the world ending this reality and beginning a new no more tqe and no more hardship for those who can't pass it and no more self-righteousness from the ones who do pass I made team we made team fate for people who were suffering because of the tqe and who had had enough of this corrupt system and I have led them to this this point to where they might find Salvation enough chitchat though let's begin they would walk off to an altar and insert an object into it likely what they found while you were distracted with those grunts you easily handled you feel something calling to you and you begin glowing a mechanism triggers in the Altar and a portal opens the temple you reside in would either be the Temple of Beginnings to the North or the Temple of endings to the South depending on which game you are playing as well as which Legend would now appear through this portal mugan or Haro would Roar with power shaking the temple and knocking several team fate members back including the mysterious team leader but not Omar finally it's here now with this power I can not so fast brother just then Azar Pina the Elite 4 and even your dad appear at the entrance of the temple Azar the Elite 4 and your dad begin battling the grunts and working their way towards Amar and the legendary Pina runs up and frees you from your bindings I figured they might be here based on what we found in those temples you have to stop them if they go through with this everything will be lost we all won't exist anymore these grunts don't realize that it's a total reset and they won't be coming along who knows if Pokémon would even exist in this new reality so go stop this guy you do exactly that dodging different battles happening making your way to Omar it's time that weird fiery guy was right trapping that woman in the suit did pay off now I can finally reset reality and shape it the way I want it to be and no one is going to stop me not even you pey Champion but I'll humor you one last battle for the fate of this world amar's team would consist of rython gargoyle King Gambit Jensens and finally either mugan or harasha which he caught in a master ball upon defeating Amar you would hear a mighty Roar rattling the temple once again and suddenly leaping from the entrance you see L another Roar from lerga and the master ball in amar's hand breaks and muga or harasha would go back into the portal they came from no no I was going to be a God I was is finally going to be better better than you as he points to Azar it's over brother time for you to meet the consequences of your actions the grunts apparently heard what he had to say and didn't like it Kumar included some cast aside their uniform and others flee as amaris hold off good work champ already proving yourself a competent Champion even more than beating me you have saved this region this world we owe you a debt of gratitude Azar and the others leave and your dad greets you saying how proud he is of you and your accomplishments that your mother would be proud too you saved the day hooray but you get the feeling you forgot something right as the supposed team fate leader rises from the rubble she had been trapped underneath it's it's you or not the team leader suit looks like it's malfunctioning as she runs off you look up to your dad who has a stunned expression on his face almost like he saw a ghost from the past and then the game would Fade to Black and the credits would roll congrats you beat Pokemon Jade or Jasper in the postgame you would be able to go back and rechallenge the gym leaders and Elite Four this time with full teams as well as take on the four gyms you didn't pick on your gym challenge also you would be able to revisit the Temple of Beginnings or endings and summon muga or harasha to catch for yourself which is honestly the safest place for them to be given you are basically the new protector of Devar also I neglected to mention this but there would be raids for powerful spear I Pokémon so you could also have fun with that but those are the spear I forms and storylines of the Devar region thank you all so much for being patient as I
