Process of Spreading Straw

• Purpose of the slide: reduce spillage on the floor.
• Straw is ground into fine pieces for easy spreading.
• Advantages of using ground straw:
  • No clumps during winter.
  • Easier to spread in both calf barns.
• Calves can spread the straw themselves from a small pile.
  • Easier than handling whole bales of straw.
  • Non-ground bales create more difficulty.
