Erosion and Rockfall Overview

hello ladies and gentlemen Mr G here we're gonna this is going to be about erosion now I'm going to just point out I have this board is a little bit weird there's a big thing on the floor right here that's going to trip me so if I'm standing weird or looking um weirder than usual it's partially because of that so hope you need to have this it's the erosion notes it may hopefully say 150 in the corner maybe your teacher changed that that's okay but you need this what we're going to do is I'm going to uh you're going to copy these notes as we go along I do this I'm going to do this here uh to learn about erosion and uh really what you want to do as you go you when I go onto a slide you want I you want to pause the video copy it down then play it so you can hear my uh sweet voice and my commentary on what we're learning about here because just having words on the page is not really it you're really going to learn from the pictures and from me sort of explaining it okay ready for this I hope so here we go so let's start out erosion one of my favorite topics super cool I want to start out by showing you how super cool it is with one specific type of erosion which would be like erosion by gravity rockfall I have these videos uh so bear with me here so these videos are super cool I'm going to start with this one so this is in Switzerland uh Switzerland rockfall these are the types of things we don't get to see these very often uh so there're these amazing things in nature so so so let's let's just watch this as we go here we go check this out dude look at that now watch this next angle is going to be like from the same rockfall but from the bottom of the hill because right that's where that big chunk used to be now watch this this happened up here now they're catching it look at these are gigantic Boulders rolling down here now often times when you have a rockfall you don't have them to roll so much so they're really going to be angular just in in a pile but in this case it's a unique case watch these are huge Boulders probably bigger than my minivan yes I have a minivan of course I have a minivan come on but watch this what hits the trees here I mean incredible force of Nature and this is a like I would say once in a lifetime thing but most people never see this most people never see look at this incredible for so look at that still going so we call that rockfall um um mass movement we often call that so so that one's cool let me just go back how do I get off here let me go back now let's watch this one as well okay check this one out this is in let's see it's in Taiwan I forget the year but let's play this puppy look at this uh this is in what's the year on this but this is Taiwan rainy day looked right along here guess they have McDonald's there I guess 2013 just you know driving along in Taiwan what what's that dude look at that Bower that guy is Super Lucky in that car look how close that came wow unbelievable unbelievable now that's unbelievable vi video I remember years ago I showed this video and had a kid noticed this so I'm going to replay this I'm going to point this thing out this makes it super cool watch this okay so I'm gonna go back and replay this thing from the beginning and I gotta I got to start a very specific oh wait let me so I'm going to point something out watch this look look at that right there look at that right there look that's the B that starts rolling right there you can see it start to roll and it takes all that time to get down and it hits and then it crashes into there crazy let's let's look at that again again let's look at that again right look at that up at the top right there you see it start to move unbelievable oh man crazy super cool I always tell people never underestimate the sheer power and force of nature oh man I'm going to stop that do that hold on one second
