1. Getting Started

1.1 Welcome to GMG ProofControl

  • Tool for proof verifications using spectrophotometrical measurements
  • Ensures reproducibility of colors on press
  • Features include:
    • Measure control strips
    • Print verification labels
    • Review measurement data
    • Edit print standards and tolerances
  • Supports standards like ISO Offset, SWOP, 3DAP, GRACoL
  • Requires X-Rite i1 or compatible printers

1.2 Program Installation

Before Installation

  • Check system requirements
  • Ensure valid license
  • Administrator rights required

System Requirements

  • OS: Windows Pro / Enterprise / Server
  • Processor: Intel Core i7
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD
  • Display: Minimum 1280 x 1024 pixels
  • Ports: USB for dongle and measuring device
  • Spectrophotometers: X-Rite i1Pro3, i1iO Generation 3, i1Pro2, integrated devices from Epson, HP, Canon

Installing GMG ProofControl

  • Install from DVD or download
  • Extract files and run *.exe
  • Follow installation wizard
  • Restart if prompted*

Installing and Configuring Label Printers

  • Supported printers: Zebra TLP 2824, TLP 2824 Plus, Dymo LabelWriter 400/450
  • Install drivers and settings
  • Configure preferences and format

  • Automatic transfer and measuring of control strips
