Central Sulcus

  • Location: Groove running along the side of the brain
  • Function: Separates the frontal lobe from the parietal lobe

Gyri

  • Gyrus Definition: Fat, lumpy structures in the brain
  • Sulcus Definition: Grooves or dividers in the brain

Precentral Gyrus

  • Location: In front of the central sulcus
  • Function: Contains the primary motor cortex

Postcentral Gyrus

  • Location: Behind the central sulcus
  • Function: Contains the primary somatosensory cortex
