good day class so let's talk about the national artists of the philippines for the objectives of our lesson for today first we have explaining filipino artists roles and identify their contribution to and political relevance a kind of art that will contribute an awareness of present realities and conditions of society so unchallenged or disability all in all contemporary filipino artists have a responsibility to create art that would enlighten people of the current conditions of the society so for our second topic an artist for the nation in 1972 fernando amur solo was named as the first national artists of the philippines national artists he is inclined in painting the national artist award is a great honor given to the filipino whose life and works have contributed to the advancement of countries arts and letters so take note the national artist then became part of the prestigious roster of the order of of the national artists ncca and ccp jointly administered the nomination and selection of the chosen and exemplary artists who are conferred by the president of the country also in 1972 presidential proclamation number 1101 series of 1972 created and established this law the award and declaration of national artists the law enabled the government to give appropriate recognition and prestige to filipinos who have distinguished themselves and made outstanding contributions to philippine arts and letters so what does it take to be a national artists so take note of this ha the national artist award is the country's highest honor to an artist who according to the ncca embodies the nation's highest ideals in the humanities and aesthetic expression through the distinct achievements of individual citizens so the qualifications for a filipino to be nominated and selected are very stringent here are the qualifications for the national artist award so first take note living artists who are natural born filipino citizens at the time of nomination as well as those who died after the establishment of the award in 1972 but were filipino citizens at the time of their death filipinos who have lost and reacquired filipino citizenship through dual citizenship status for at least the minimum period of five years shall be a limit eligible for nomination next artists who through the content and form their works have contributed in building a filipino sense of nationwood third qualifications artists who have pioneered in a mode of creative expression or style thus earning distinction and making an impact on succeeding generations of artists fourth artists who have created a substantial and significant body of works and are consistently displayed excellence in the practice of their art form thus enriching artistic expression or style and the last fifth artists who enjoy broad acceptance through the following first prestigious national and or international recognitions such as the government ccp parasausining ccp13 artists award and ncca alabnam haraya second critical acclaim and or reviews of their works and last is to respect and steam from fears [Music] so what does the award give bambini national artists so again give importance to the people behind the development of philippine literature artists for literature so here they are the national artists for literature we have francisco arcelania 1916-2002 year of confirmment 1990. one of the greatest filipino poets of his generation is francisco arcelana he studied in tondo intermediate school however it was at the manila west high school which was later named the florentino torres high school that he took up his writing seriously and became a staff member of the torres torque the school organ or the school newspaper while still a student at florentino torres high school he wrote his first story story the man who would be po arcelana is considered as one of the pioneers of a modern filipino short story in english his short stories are written in brilliant leaders of the country manuel quirino then spent some of his years working as an assistant to president elfidio querino who helped him study law until he passed the bar in 1914. most of kirino's topics covered war politics art business and agriculture and this is carlos el querino we have alejandro r rosses 1924 to 2011 year of confirmment 2003. alejandro arrozas was an exceptional
