Overview
The NYSTCE tests are criterion-referenced and objective-based.
Designed to measure a candidate's knowledge against an established standard for New York State public schools.
Includes various tests designed with input from New York State educators.
Candidates' performance is evaluated against a predetermined standard.
Test Format
Approximately 80 multiple-choice questions.
One constructed-response (written) assignment.

Marking Answers: Use a No. 2 pencil, avoid stray marks, and erase thoroughly.
Guessing: No penalty for incorrect answers; better to guess than leave blank.
Review: Use remaining time to check answers.
Elementary ATS-W Objectives
