Bromley's Rise to Premier League Glory

This is Bromley, the lowest ranked club in English football. They've just been promoted from the National League to EFL League 2 for the first time in their history. But I want to do the impossible with them. Taking Bromley to the Premier League. Now I know it's not gonna be easy, because Bromley are easily the worst team in EFL League 2. But also, they've got the lowest budget in the league. But if we pull this off, it'll be the greatest managerial achievement of all time. And so our journey with Bromley begins. My first task as the manager is to assess the squad we've got. Oh my days, this team is absolutely woeful. And we're playing a five at the back system. To make things worse, our best players like Ben Thompson and Kamal Grant are both on loan. Which means we really can't incorporate them into our future plans. But regardless guys, we need to figure out a way to work with- with what we've got, because my goal for the first season is to secure promotion. I know it sounds a bit crazy, because we literally are the worst team in League 2, but I'm cooking up a new- tactical system. They call me the Pep Guardiola of EFL League 2. That's right, guys. I've come up with a 4-1-4-1 formation. It's going to be super attacking. But to make this work, I think we're going to need to sign a winger because we've got Corey Whiteley at the club right now. 58 rated left winger. He's 32. He's not going to shine in my new system. But our budget isn't looking all that crazy. Just 800k. The question is, do I go all in and bring in a left midfielder, commit to this new tactical system we're trying to build, or do I just stick with the tried and trusted? busted five-pack system which got them promoted. And honestly, if we want to get Bromley promoted, if one day we want to be in the Premier League too, we're gonna have to be brave. And so the hunt began for a left midfielder that fits in our budget. And I did end up finding someone good. Alexander Luthard, guys, from Germany. 57 rated, but 18 years old. And now when I see talent. And yo, he's gonna be super cheap as well. And so for 250k, we make our first signing of this Bromley project. Welcome, Alexander Luthard. youth hard but with just one transfer our budget is now down to 300k which means no more transfers this season but we've still got a big decision to make do we spend the rest of our money on new coaches I mean since we are shifting to a new system the coaches could help but we also need to invest in the youth Academy with a club like Bromley this could be the only way to get to the top. Oh, and scouts are expensive, man. I'm not signing a one-star, one-star scout because he's going to be useless. I guess we'll go with Douglas Lennox. 161,000 for his services. And we've hired him. My plan is to send him to various different countries every few months. And hopefully that brings us a lot of talents. The EFL League 2 season begins now. And all the work we've done, coming up with the new tactics, bringing in the new German winger. Time to see if it's all clicking because the goal is... is promotion. Uh-oh, I think our defense has been caught napping and we concede. That's not the start I wanted with Bromley. My defense is literally taking a nap there and we've conceded again. Oh, not the rebound. We're 3-0 down in the first half. Full-time and I think I've just had the worst managerial debut of all time. But things got even worse. My players were not good enough to understand the new tactical system and hence we were losing almost every single game. To make things worse, the only signing I invested in, Alexander Luthard, he turned out being an absolute flop. I think he was struggling to adjust to English football. Oh no, this is embarrassing. We finished 23rd in the league. Here I was dreaming about promotion, but we're lucky to not be relegated. Right after the season ended, I received an email from the Bromley board. Initially, I feared the worst, but it looks like they are willing to give me one more season, but they want- me to go back to the five at the back formation and i mean i do understand where they're coming from that's the formation that got them to league two do we actually go back to the 5-3-2 system it'll probably help us finish mid table but definitely not anything beyond that i want to dream bigger with bromley and i want to give this formation another goal because i don't think the problem is with these tactics the problem is with the talent we've got if we can improve our team this season i think we can make it work in secure promotion and so i struck a deal with the boy board. Let me use the 4-1-4-1 formation one more time. And if I don't get this team promoted, I'll resign from the club. The stakes are higher than ever, but so is our budget. We've got 2 million to spend and we need to use that to bring in players that fit this system. But first, the most important thing, bringing in some new coaches. We couldn't do that last season because of lack of funds. And I think that's what cost us. But just by signing a couple of coaches, our budget is down to 1.3 million. It is so difficult managing an EFL. League 2 club. I don't think 1.3 million is going to be enough for us to bring in the players we need to make this work. But if you guys remember, last season we did hire a youth scout. We sent him to a few different countries and he has found some really good talents. Couple of English fullbacks. Alfie French, a really good CDM and look at that potential. Oh, but the big one. Surely is Massimo Carbone an Italian winger? There's a goalkeeper too from Venezuela, Lucas Carrillo. But aren't these guys too young to be playing EFL League 2 football? Because this season's make or break for me. If I trust them and they don't deliver, the Bromley project fails. I decided to attend the youth tournament final. And honestly, I was impressed. These kids are absolute ballers. They won the tournament in style. And I think it might be easier to make them understand our tactics and systems. So yep, Lucas Carrillo, we're promoting. Putting you to the senior team. Alfie French as well. And the big one Massimo Carbon. The other two are still young. But next season we should have them. But even with the academy players coming in. This team is still not good enough. We need more talent. Okay just hit me with the academy players coming in. We want them to be starters. Makes sense to clear the club out with the older players. Like Grant Smith. Ashley Charles could generate us a lot of money. We've anyway got Alfie French. And so the club clear out has begun. A lot of the older guard is being sold. And. And look at that, our budget is up to 3.4 million now. And now I can finally bring the players I want for this system. If we can bring in a playmaking central midfielder, as well as a rock solid dependable centre-back, I think we can put up a fight for promotion. And I think I've found our centre-back, Max Leeward, currently playing for Wrexham. Oh, he's going to be our most expensive signing yet. But he's 66 rated. He's got experience from playing in League One. That's the level we need. 1.4 million and we've secured the services of Max Leeward. But For the sentiment position, I found Ayman Azhil. Now, you might be thinking, how on earth are we going to sign a player from Borussia Dortmund? Well, it's actually Dortmund's second team. And remember Alexander Luthor, who we did sign from Germany? He struggled in his first season because he couldn't adapt. But if we bring in another German, have him play on the same side as Lutard, that could help him out quite a bit. And for just 1 million, getting a player from Dortmund's academy, this is an absolute steal. With our team now looking better than ever, it's time to once again begin our EFL League 2 campaign. This time though, we need promotion. Uh-oh, that's again some really leaky defending, but our academy keeper, what a save. Gotta say, there's so much more talent in this team right now. You can feel it with the passing. The only doubt I have is- is the lack of experience. Oh, look at our Italian stallion, Massimo Carbone go. It's a good run. Oh, and a clever backheel. What a goal. Oh, looks like it's Carbone again. He got his assist, but this time he gets his goal. Bromley are unrecognizable right now. Full time and a dominant win to start off our season. But this was just the start. Massimo Carbone was playing at a level this division had never seen before. The youngsters in our team just had so much more talent and they were willing to learn too. The 4-1-4-1 formation. that wasn't working last season is now destroying teams this season. We've made it to the end of the League 2 season and Bromley finished 7th. What an upgrade from last season where we were literally nowhere. We haven't secured promotion yet, but we can still do it through the playoffs. And honestly, I'm confident because look at the growth on some of our players. Lucas Carrillo has gone up to a 68. Ayman Azil becomes our first 70 rated player. The star of the show is definitely Massimo Carbone. 10 goals and 5 assists this season. He's in what a player. And looks like even Alexander Luthor stepped up. I'm sure Eymar Nazil helped him out quite a bit to settle. But before we get into the playoffs, I've got a plan. You see, our academy players, Zachary Tucker, Bobby Burnett. They're both 16, which means they're eligible to get promoted. And I'm doing it, boys. We've achieved so much success by trusting academy players. And I'm taking it to the next level by putting them into the team. Putting two 16-year-olds on the pitch in a playoff scheme. It's only something I can do. But hey, this risk-taking ability has got us here with Bromley. Let's now make it to the final. Ball into Massimo Carbone. And it just had to be him, our most talented player. Ball. The floodgates had now opened and we destroyed Burton Albion, booking our spot in the playoff final. But the job was not done yet. We still need to win the playoffs final, which is going to be our first game at Wembley. The only thing that could hold us back is our inexperienced fullbacks. But look at that boys trusting them and they're coming through Tucker, playing out of danger so easily there. And now here's our striker going through and a chance, but it's saved. Oh, Massimo Carbone should be giving us the lead here in the playoff final, but it's saved. Thanks. Hopefully the rebound goes in. Oh, but looks like Massimo Coppola wants his goal. He sizzles through the defense. And this time he's got the finish. With that, the ref blows the final whistle. Bromley are promoted to EFL League One. But this is just the start. We've crossed one hurdle. But the ultimate goal still remains to become a Premier League club. Season three begins with an email from the board. But this time it looks like it's a happy one. Congratulations on securing promotion. We apologize for doubting your tactical vision. You're the gaff- You decide how the team plays. From now on, we fully back you. Um, okay, I don't see the backing financially, though. Budget is only 2 million after getting promoted. Hey, I guess this is probably. We're gonna have to get them to the Premier League with limited budgets just like this. But at least now we don't have to worry about our job. And I can continue to do whatever is best for this club. And I think this season, I want to aim for promotion once again. I know it sounds crazy, back-to-back promotions, but I genuinely think we've got the quality. I don't think any other EFL League One club has got better wingers. We've got an incredibly young team that's hungry to achieve success. But yes, there's something missing in this side. The striker position. We've got Marcus Dinanga. He was actually decent last season. But we're a club now aiming to be in the championship. Bromley needs a better number nine. And after a bit of hunting, I think I found the perfect striker. Sonny Cox from Exeter City. By the way, that one. one of the clubs we were competing with last season, and they actually won the league. And I'm sure Sonny Cox had a big contribution to that. 67 rated, 21 years old, and I reckon with our budget, we should be able to afford him. Yeah, I don't want this to be expensive, man. We need to still be saving every penny. After some tough negotiations, we were able to secure a deal for 1.2 million to bring Sonny Cox to Bromley. We now officially have the youngest team in EFL League 1, and if our players can continue improving even this season, I think, yeah, we'll get back. back-to-back promotion. But for the players to improve, we need to invest a bit more in the coaching department. And I only want to hire really good coaches. But look at how expensive they are. We can't afford the best of the best. I think the play might be to sacrifice a striker. We've got already three at the club. This player sale is going to be so important for the club. Because that's what's going to help us to hire a couple of defensive coaches. And looks like the coaches were already doing their job. As both Tucker and Burnett, our 17-year-old academy players, were holding their own against League One attackers. To think we only gave them their debut in the playoffs last year. Look at Tucker on the ball. Do it. Elasticos, man. He is so talented. Beats two players. Beats another one. And this is our left back, by the way. He keeps going. He's got the strength as well. Course for goal. Are you kidding me? That's right. Zachary Tucker. just scored a Puskas-worthy goal. I'm just astonished at the quality we've got and the fact that we added Sonny Cox, who couldn't stop scoring goals, by the way, winning awards too. We were literally unstoppable. Nah, this is unbelievable, guys. Bromley have secured back-to-back promotion. We're going to the championship just one division away from the Premier League. It's crazy what we're achieving with the youngest squad in EFL League 1, but the championship is not going to be an easy challenge. So far, the kids from the league... academy have carried us, but to even dream of premier league promotion, this team needs investments. But just 4 million? How are we supposed to compete in the championship with that? I mean, a majority of those funds went in renewing contracts, because now that we're in the championship, player salaries have definitely increased. We also had to sign some new coaches. We're literally now down to 3 million. I was honestly dreaming of doing the impossible and going back to back to back, but I think our battle this season isn't going to be promotion, it's going to be survival. Okay, I've just- Just received an email from the board. We apologize for the lack of investments this season, but the club's financial conditions just do not allow it. But if this season you can survive in the championship, avoid relegation, the TV money could bring in some serious money for next season. I guess this is the challenge of managing one of the lowest ranked English clubs. And honestly, this season is going to be about survival, because although we've got talent like Carbone, Carrillo in goal, I don't think it's enough to compete in the championship plus. Our squad depth is absolutely horrendous. We've got a 41 rated player on the bench. We need to make the best use out of this 3 million to help us survive. And bringing in free agents could be the only way. And thankfully, we did find a couple of really good players. 74 rated sentiment Julian Bass, as well as 75 rated sentiment Liam Kitching. But just as I feared, this was not enough to compete in the championship. We were getting steamrolled by championship clubs with deeper pockets. I hate to say this, guys, but relegation could be- be a possibility. Will Le'Veon points with Huddersfield? And if we lose this game, there's a good chance we're going back down to League 1. And that could be catastrophic for the club. Our talented academy players seeing the downward trend could end up leaving. We're not going to get any more money from the board. It could destroy our Bromley project. But if we can survive this relegation battle, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. We need to get this ball to Carbone. He's made a good run. He's going to find Sonny Cox and this should be it. And it is. Sonny Cox, our striker, coming through in this relegation battle. With the club's future. Future at stake. The players showed incredible personality. And we were able to secure a crucial win. That's the Bromley way. We end the season finishing 15th. And even though we've avoided relegation completing our objective. The board are happy too. But this isn't why I'm here at Bromley. Remember our goal it was to get them to the Premier League. And by just signing three agents barely making any improvements. We're not gonna ever be a Premier League club. Wait, our budget for season 5 is just 6 million? Where's all that TV money we were promised? Once again, we're gonna have to rely on free agents. And thankfully, we found a really good player in Lucas Boros. 78-weighted centre-back, just 21 years old. We've managed to sign him for free. Oh, and I just realised, he looks exactly like our goalkeeper. Is he some sort of a twin? Look at these two together. We've made it to the end of the season and we're nowhere in a relegation battle. We're not even mid-table. What's happened? Oh my days, Bromley have finished fifth. We couldn't compete with Burnley and Ipswich who are getting direct promotion, but we still have a chance with the playoffs. We just made one signing in Burrows and I think he came through to be fair, up to an 81 overall. But not just that, look at the all-round growth. Lucas Carrillo has become the best goalkeeper in the championship. Massimo Carbone up to a 79 overall. Overall, Sonny Cox again came through up to a 79 plus 20 goals. But look at who was our top scorer, Alexander Luthor. To think in his first season he couldn't adapt to life in England. Look at him now. With how limited our transfer budget was, nobody expected us to secure promotion. But if we defy all odds and win the playoffs, we won't be stuck in this loop of being a championship club. We'll be in the big leagues, the Premier League. And you know the TV money in that league. It could give us the transfer budget to push beyond. In the semifinals? finals, we were up against Coventry City, but Sonny Cox made sure we had our ticket booked for Wembley. It's the playoffs final, Bromley versus Hull City. We're one game away from being a Premier League club. The last time we were in the playoffs, we came through. It's time to do it again. But the final kicked off with us almost conceding. How did he miss that? Oh, now Hull City have made a mistake. This could be the moment. No. I thought we were heading to the Premier League. Looks like Carbone wants to take matters into his own hands, and he's... got the finish as well. No player wants to be in the big leagues more than Massimo Carbon. He's the one sending us there. But this is a battle to be a Premier League club. Hull City weren't giving up. Oh no, we've let him through and ah. This is the craziest playoff final I've ever played. Hull City again and no, no, no, no, no. Our dream might be over. We're not giving up so easily too. There might be one more chance. There is. Come on. No. How did we not score there? Full time and we've bottled. Until the playoffs, we're not gonna be a Premier League club. After all the effort this team put in, without any money, the Academy boys played their hearts out. But it's still... isn't enough. That's how difficult it is to become a Premier League club. The question now is, are we gonna rue over this disappointment? Are we just gonna stay a mediocre championship club, keep fighting for mid-table positions? Or are we gonna come back next season and finish what we started? And looks like for season six, we've got our biggest budget yet, 12 million. Now it's nothing too crazy, but it might be exactly what this team needs. We don't need to sign any superstar players for the first team. I think it's already decent, but we do need squad depth. Especially because this season, I'm aiming for the title. I don't want to go through the playoffs. Direct promotion is what Bromley needs. We're starting off by signing Archie Collins, a no-nonsense CDM. He's only 72 rated, but the experience and the depth, that's what we need from him. And hey, can't go wrong when it's a free transfer. I also found another really good free agent, Hugo Picard, 26-0 Frenchman. 100% snapping him up on a free. But the player I really wanted to sign, and maybe he's a player that can help us get promoted, Ellis Sims. 77 rated 28 years old offer something different than sonny cox and we were able to sign him for 8.5 million i think that is our transfer record so far for the first time with bromley we actually have a reasonable bench but this is now our third season in the championship this is not where i want to be we need to secure promotion and this time massimo carbone took matters into his own hands he put in the greatest season the championship has ever seen 27 goals and 13 assists he's He's now 84 rated too. But has he helped Bromley secure promotion? And yes, he has. Bromley are going up to the Premier League. It's only taken us six seasons of hard work. The lowest ranked English club is now going to be a Premier League club. But this journey has only begun. Because I'm not stopping until we make Bromley Premier League winners. And maybe if you guys subscribe to the channel, it might help us get there. But wait, £106 million offer for Massimo Carbone from Arsenal? We're not even one week- week into being a Premier League club. This is more money than Bromley have ever seen. In fact, you combine our transfer budget for the last six seasons, it's going to be way less than this. And I'm already getting messages from the board. They want me to accept it. But if we do that, we're going to seal our fate as a club with no ambition. And there's a good chance we go right back down and just yo-yo between the championship and the Premier League. But that's not what I'm here for. I truly believe if we can keep our team intact, slowly improve it, we've got a shot at becoming Premier League champions. So it's... Time to have a chat with Massimo. Boss, I'll be honest, the offer's really good from Arsenal, the money will help my family back in Italy, and I'll be playing Champions League football. I completely understand, Massimo, but I truly believe we're building something special here. You've given this club six seasons, so I'm not gonna force you to stay, but trust me with one more season, and I think we too can be in the Champions League. You're crazy, boss. Champions League is impossible, but for some reason, after everything we've been through, I believe you. And about the money, I've spoken with the board and we're willing to triple your wages. Let's conquer the... the Premier League together. Massimo Carbone shows his loyalty, he's staying, but the condition is we kind of need to build a competitive team. And honestly, I wouldn't have made those promises to him if I didn't believe in this side. I feel we genuinely have the talent to take the fight to the top. Premier League clubs. Our academy players are better than ever, but yeah, we could do with some experience. And for that, we've got our biggest budget ever, 49 million. That's the Premier League TV money coming through. And we're already putting that money to good use by breaking the club's transfer record. Levi Caldwell's contract's expiring, 85 rated centre-back, all that Premier League experience, and I cannot believe we've signed him for Bromley. This is why don't come out and let me cook us. Look at that defense. But we still need to improve that. midfield if we're gonna compete with the big boys in the Premier League. Ah, but we're just 13 million? Can we even get a good cent to mid? I tried finding some good free agents, but there weren't any available. I think to improve our midfield, we are gonna have to make some sales. And so Julian Bass, the free agent midfielder we signed a few seasons ago, he's gone. Be honest, I kinda don't like him. Because if you remember in the championship playoffs final, he missed his sitter in the 128th minute to cost us. But hey, he's helped out the team massively because he brought in 16.8 million. And now with 26 million, I think I can bring in a good midfielder. Like Mario Martin from Real Madrid. 82 rated. Really well balanced stats. Can't believe Madrid let him go for just 22 million. In my seven seasons of managing Bromley, our team has never looked this good. But are we good enough to compete against the big boys of the Premier League? Bromley have got a free kick and it's Sonny Cox taking it. And he puts it in the back of the net. He's something special. He did it in the championship and he's now doing it in the Premier League. Oh, and Sonny Cox. Fox has beaten the offside trap. He's now going to be one-on-one versus the Chelsea goalkeeper. Can he finish? It's off the post, but the rebound is in. Oh, and Carbone making the Chelsea defence look foolish. And he gets himself a goal too. Bromley belong in the Premier League. And we're not here just to belong. We're thriving. Top four in our first season of the Premier League. And to be honest, I'm not surprised because this team has seen so many ups and downs. It was ready for the challenge. And just look at the overall growth. We've got our first 90... rated player Lucas Carrillo from the academy. He's been here from day one. Massimo Carbone up to 87. Even the signings we've made like Sonny Cox have come through. He's 86 rated. From EFL League 2 to Champions League qualification. But it doesn't stop here. We're closer than ever to making Bromley Premier League winners. But going from fourth to first is not going to be easy. Season 8 and that is what we're aiming for. The Premier League trophy. But first we got to deal with the circling our club. You see, when a small club like Bromley sees a bit of success, qualifies for Champions League. The big European clubs who've got huge financial backing see an opportunity. We're getting offers for almost all our players. But the good thing is, there's no pressure from the board to sell anyone. They believe in our project. We get to keep our squad as is. And we also have a budget of £85 million. Our biggest budget yet. It's because of the Champions League TV money coming in. The Premier League money too. And I think if we can bring in a world-class midfielder. Yeah. Maybe some backup for the defence? We've got a squad that can take the fight to Arsenal and Man City. We're starting off by signing Calvin Ramsey from Liverpool. Should give us good depth in the full-back position. For the midfield position, I'm gonna sign Bellingham. Well, not Jude. He's not gonna be leaving Real Madrid for Bromley. But his little brother, Joe, would. He's 85 rated playing for RB Leipzig. And it was pretty easy convincing him of our Bromley project. With that, I think we've broken our transfer record again. Joe Bellingham is going to play for Bromley. Now he's still at about 17 minutes. million left and we could use it to improve our squad depth but the right thing to do is to give our players who've been here from the start a better contract up their wages they've shown unbelievable loyalty to this club and we gotta repay that faith the quest for the premier league title begins as we face last season's champions arsenal so far guys we've conquered many challenges but a team like arsenal we haven't been able to beat and already they're on the attack and off the crossbar we're so lucky but eventually arsenal's pressure got to us and they were able to go 2-0 up. Guys, this is the level of a Premier League champion. 20 minutes in and we're already under tremendous pressure. Carbone's got the ball and it's a lovely chip for Sonny Cox. Can he keep his composure? Yes, he can. The mentality we've instilled in this Bromley team, we're not giving... our wrenches on the ball and if he can slide this through for sonny cox it's perfect come on sonny let's go we're back in it in the end we were only able to get a draw from this but this result gave us the belief that the premier league title is within our reach the media couldn't believe but has probably kept getting result after result, even beating the likes of Man City. We're facing Arsenal again, but this time at home. And look at how tight the Premier League battle is. If we can beat last season's champions, it could be all year to take the crown. Here's Massimo. Massimo Carbone, this is what he always wanted, to be a hero in a big game like this. He's gone past everybody at the finish. From playing in our youth academy to now scoring in a title-winning game. Remember the name, Massimo Carbone. Carbone once again going through, and how do you stop this kid? He just beats everybody, and that's another goal. I actually can't believe this. We're one game away from being Premier League winners, 74 points. Newcastle are closest rivals at 72. We beat Chelsea. We're going to beat... England's best club. This was the goal we set out to achieve all those years ago. From EFL League 2 to Premier League glory, we can complete the fairy tale today. This is getting me emotional, man. Look at the team we've built over these eight seasons. Not one transfer you could say is like a superstar signing. Five players from the academy. And actually, they are our best players. Massimo Carbon is 92 rated, one of the best players in the world. Lucas Carrillo, two up to a 92. Talk of French. Inch-pa-net! All of them stepped up. And now it's time to take Brobley to the promised land. One final game. We need to win this. No, no, no, not this way. Not this way. Not this way. Chelsea take the lead. As things stand, we're not going to be Premier League champions. I'm already getting flashbacks of when we bottled the playoffs final a few seasons ago. We're not reliving that all over again. Joe Bellingham looks for a pass for Sonny Cox. He's through on goal. We need this. And Sonny does not disappoint. The first half is done, but the pressure is still on. We just need- one more goal in the second half and we'll be champions of England. I feel like we need something extra in this team. So we're bringing on Alexander Lutard, our first ever signing eight seasons ago. Lutard, come on. And he's having a really good impact. He's gone through all by himself. Alexander Lutard, no. That was the chance for him to be the hero. Lutard again. He does not stop trying. Keeps going. Alexander Lutard cutting this one back, but there was nobody there. Oh, we still have a chance. Carbone, what an opportunity. And it taps it home. It had to be Massimo Carbone. The goal to win is the Premier League. Look at the celebrations. The entire squad is there. And we've done it, boys. The worst club in FC25 is now the best team in England. Eight seasons of hard work. We've had to endure failures. Virtually no budget as well. But our academy came through. And here we are, making Bromley Premier League winners. That promise I made to Carbone, we fulfilled that. If you enjoyed... this journey with Bromley?
