so in this video we're going to cover 12 extremely simple service businesses that you could start today all these businesses can be started with little to no money upfront without much skills or tools needed this makes it perfect for you to go out and start one of these tomorrow yourself or it's perfect for using subcontractors to go do the work for you similar to like an Uber style business I do this in the junk removal space we operate in over 40 cities Nationwide and it's all using subcontractors and I just manage it all remotely from the computer I hope this video shows you you can make money doing some of the most simple mundane asks for people I'm also going to show some examples of companies in these spaces how much they're charging how much they're making I couldn't believe how much some of these companies are actually making doing these very simple services without any further Ado let's jump into 12 surprisingly simple service businesses that you could start today I also is bringing people's trash cans to the curb for them and then bringing them back in now this sounds so simple I want of people actually made money doing this there's a company canm monkey.com that makes $3 million a year doing this now can monkey started out just getting residential customers people who were out of town older people who needed to get their trash cans to the curb and back but they grew very slowly that way the way they get customers now is mainly through airbnbs and property management companies so people who own airbnbs or own property management company maybe don't have someone there to bring the trash can out on trash day and bring it back in on a regular basis if they've got renters or people turning over all the time and they make $3 million a year doing this they've expanded into a lot of different cities they're getting 600 new customers every month they make $3 million per year and it's such a simple business the cool thing is there's extremely low competition for this they are one of the only companies bringing trash cans out people's curbs for them this is a perfect business to start in your city all you have to do is start calling on airbnbs property management companies a lot of these places own a bunch of different locations if you can secure a single owner maybe they have 12 different properties and that's really how can monkey grew is just focusing on Commercial customers now if we look at canm monkey.com very simple website how it works you sign up they take the trash can out and they bring it back in extremely simple and it starts at $49 a month for two cans so on average people have a trash and a recycle can $49 a month they will bring it out every week and they operate in Arizona Arkansas California Colorado Florida Indiana Maryland bunch of different cities and they're using subcontractors to do this work so you can sign up to be a can Runner someone just with their car go to someone's house and brings the cans out brings it back in so they're running this all remotely they're they're doing $3 million a year and it's a very simple service that you could start in another location if you look at camm monkey.com on ahrs which is the key word tool I use they have a very low domain Rank and they don't have much traffic coming into their website so the majority of their customers are just commercial customers that they're calling on airbnbs property management companies and you can start this with no tools no money upfront just a mode of transportation to get to someone's house wheel their crash can out and then then wheel it back in now simple service business number two is dog poop removal or pet waste removal and this is just going to someone's house and picking up their dog's poop taking it with you in a trash bag and disposing of it again no real tools needed up front cin poopin scoop.com is one company that does this makes six figures a year picking up people's dog poop the lady who owns it actually has a YouTube channel as well where she talks about starting a poop removal business and how to go about doing it she's got a cool website they charge for a weekly poop clean starts at $87 per month every other week $65 per month twice a week $156 per month she operates in Indiana there's definitely opportunity to start a pooper scooper business in other places they do weekly poop cleanings spring cleanups onetime cleanings twice a week cleanings on YouTube she breaks down her business and where her money is coming from she's making over $100,000 the great thing is it's all recurring Revenue so you get a customer on board and they're paying you every month 75% of her Revenue so the bulk of her Revenue comes from just weekly cleanings from regular cleanings of residential customers going there every week and cleaning up their dog poop 6% of Revenue comes from first time or one time cleanings so if you're going to get a customer on board they probably have more poop or clean up at the beginning for the first job so 6% of that over $6,000 comes from just those first time or onetime cleanings bring cleanups accounts for about 20% of the revenue so a little over $20,000 and in Spring you know snow is melting there's maybe some poop that wasn't cleaned up over winter so just doing a whole spring cleanup is over $20,000 in revenue for her and she says that's a great way to get new customers so if you promote your spring cleanups and you do that one time spring cleanup for a customer and then you get them on board on a regular basis and she says if you're doing this yourself you're willing to go out and do the dog proof removal yourself you can make six figures a year doing that otherwise this is also another business that would be great to use subcontractors for and expand into multiple cities and send people out to do poop removal jobs very simple you need some trash bags and some pooper scooper tools now simple service business number three is parking lot cleanups so this is cleaning up parking lots for commercial customers now Brian Welsh went on the side hustle Nation Podcast and talked about how he's making $650,000 a year profit cleaning up parking lots he calls it the simplest business in America he has a website called clean lots.com where he talks about exactly how to get started and how to get initial customers and build up this business the cool thing is you can do this in the mornings or at night when the parking lot is not busy is pretty much closed so you can do it as a side hustle or if you're using subcontractors you can have them do it on the side of their regular job in the early morning hours before the stor is open in that parking lot now to get C customers he says don't go after huge commercial parking lots cuz they usually have their own system to get the parking lot cleaned up but he says go after kind of mediumsized parking lots so strip mall type centers with 5 to seven stores are the best parking lots to go after a lot of them don't even know that a service like this is offered and a lot of them don't have a great option for cleaning up the parking lot he says to call property management companies and ask to talk to whoever manages their commercial properties once you can get that person on the phone just explain to them what you can do and as I said he's making $650,000 a year doing this but very simple business this is also a recurring business so you have recurring Revenue coming in so once you get a commercial customer you have them on a regular basis you can either go and do this yourself on the side or you could use subcontractors calling on medium-sized commercial properties property management companies in different cities different states throughout the country and have subcontractors going out and doing this very simple work in a lot of different areas so this is a very low competition service very simple service that I think would be great for someone to start very straightforward business model just calling on property management company and offering this service which many of them don't even realize exists now simple service business number four is laundry pickup and drop off so this is picking up people's laundry washing it and then dropping it back off to them nice and folded now when I was doing research for this I found a really cool company called poppin.com now pin. goes the subcontractor route so they have people all over the country that they book jobs on their website and then send the job out to just regular people who can sign up and go pick up people's laundry take it back to their house wash it and then bring it back folded and clean they say they have 115,000 work from home laundry Pros Nationwide who just go pick up laundry wash it at their own house and drop it back off and they're doing 3 million loads washed and folded every year so you could either start something similar to Poppin where you use subcontractors to do the pickups for you or you can go out and start your own local laundry pickup and drop off service if you're going to do it locally on your own I would highly recommend going after commercial customers I have a friend who owns a restaurant he told me he was spending something like $50,000 a year on laundry service for all their napkins and tablecloths and stuff like that so you can go after restaurants or commercial customers where they have a bunch of laundry on a regular basis and go pick that up get some commercial laundry machines and just simply clean it and drop it back off whether you're going to do it yourself or the subcontractor route I found this a very cool simple business now number five is renting out laborers to help people move this isn't starting a moving company this isn't having moving trucks this is just simply renting out laborers for people who are moving things and just need some extra hands and I found an awesome example of a company doing this exact thing making $600 to $700,000 per year profit all remotely with subcontractors they don't do any SEO they don't do any Google ads they have a really interesting way of how they get their customers and it's something that you could copy so Community labor partnership.com is the company that makes 600 to $700,000 per year doing this and it say just says local professional moving help so if you book online and they're just giving you workers to help you move these people don't even have trucks they're just showing up as extra hands they have a very simple booking form on their website they also have these laborers doing other work but the main portion of their income is just moving labor if it's just a single worker the total worker cost they say is $100 worker down payment so what you're going to pay online is $50 now Community labor partnership keeps that $50 and then the other $50 that is owed is paid upon completion of the work so they're keeping the $50 and then the laborer is just taking the extra $50 from the customer upon completion directly so they're not actually even paying out their subcontractors they're just connecting laborers with the people who need lab laborers and they're taking the fee directly on their website and the way they're getting customers is really interesting they're getting all their customers from Craigslist they just put up Craigslist ads in a bunch of different areas for moving labor for moving health and someone clicks on their Craigslist ad and it goes directly to their website where they can book that job online they put these ads all over in different cities they also go to storage facilities and give them Flyers there's a lot of people at storage facilities looking for extra hands to help them and they can go into the office and this flyer is sitting there as an option for extra hands to help them with their moving sometimes they will actually even offer a affiliate commission to these storage facilities if someone ends up booking a laborer through that storage facility maybe they give them a cut of that sale for preferring them and this is a very simple business that doesn't require really any tools it just requires the laborer to show up and be willing to help move things they don't even need a pickup truck or a van or anything like that just themselves now simple business number six is trash can clean this is just cleaning out people's trash cans and this can be done on a regular basis weekly monthly quarterly now there's a whole industry of trash can cleaners out there and some people are making great money doing it found an awesome article on go site.com breaking down the whole trash can cleaning business and there are people making six figures a year cleaning out people's trash cans it's a very simple service again that you can use subcontractors for or do yourself without that many tools you just need a pressure washer and some soap to clean it out some people use big automatic trucks but you really could just get started with a pressure washer and some soap to clean out these trash cans now on Google Trends trash can cleaning has been going up in search volume over recent years as you can see in this graph from 2021 through 2023 if you look at ah refs keyword difficulty is medium so on the low end of medium 14 keyword difficulty goes from 0 to 100 so that's pretty easy to rank for I'm looking at pricing your services tidy trash bins a onetime cleaning is $50 per two bins but if you're going to do a monthly service every four weeks $30 a month for two bins $5 for every extra bin another one monthly cleaning $22.95 per month for two cans 50 for every extra can now there's companies that have trucks like this or you can just go with a pressure washer and some soap at the beginning to do this and you can focus on residential customers or you can go after commercial customers so calling on HOAs is a great thing to do property management companies you can do big dumpsters at businesses so there's a lot of opportunity here and it's recurring Revenue again so when you get a customer on board they're paying you every month so you just really have to build up a route build up customers and this can be done with subcontractors as well so you could start a brand and start calling on companies and sending sub contractors out to do this labor for you if you wanted to it's not a super high ticket business but it is recurring revenue and it's very simple job that really anyone can do with a pressure washer and some soap simple business number seven is mattress and couch cleaning this is going to people's houses and doing deep cleans on their mattresses and their couches now I found a carpet cleaning company in Denver that is also offering mattress and couch cleaning services they got some prices on their website if you go to schedule online they do a lot of carpet cleaning but they also have a section for additional services and if you're cleaning a sectional sofa $265 regular sofa $165 love seat $125 reclining chair 75 mattress cleaning $149 for a king so there's a lot of money in these services and most people have multiple couches or multiple mattresses in their house that you can do at once and mattress cleaning and couch cleaning are extremely easy to rank for they're very low competition keywords so if you wanted to build a website around this you could rank in a lot of different cities and send subcontractors out to do the work for you um if we look at ah refs the keyword mattress cleaning service is zero on the difficulty scale so zero out of 100 and 1.5 th000 people are searching for that per month now that's just that keyword that doesn't include people searching for mattress cleaning service Denver Mattress cleaning services mattress cleaning service near me so there's a bunch of different keywords out there but the fact that there's 1.5 th000 people searching for that exact keyword means there's definitely volume for it and it's extremely low competition professional couch cleaning two on the difficulty scale 1.4 th000 people per month searching for that so there's definitely some low competition keywords in that space if you wanted to build a site around it you could rank for that without having to do a ton of SEO now number eight is industrial byproduct flipping so what is this this is going to commercial businesses so warehouses and finding things like pallets cardboard crates spools things that they're trying to get rid of often times you can get them for free and then going to another business and selling and there's a guy from the simplest Biz doino and he explains how many times he can make over $1,000 in a single day flipping palletes so he would go around to a warehouse District go up to every Warehouse see if they had old pallets that they needed to get rid of 95% of the time they would give him those pallets for free he would take those pallets bring them to the pallet yard and sell them for like 250 a pallet and he was making great money then he found out that that pallet yard was selling those pallets to businesses so he cut out the pallet yard and then went directly to the businesses who were buying the pallets so he would go pick up pallets most of the time for free from businesses drive over to the other businesses many times in the same warehouse district and sell those pallets to them but on his website he explains exactly how he does this and how to go about starting a business like this he says most heavy duty type businesses logistic businesses will have a lot of pallets like this he went through one of his typical days around 7:30 a.m. he went and picked up 125 pallets from one business and he got those pallets for free then he drove three and half miles away and sold each of those pallets for $7 he made a gross profit of $875 just from that one job and that was 50 minutes of work then a tractor business gave him 160 corrugated boxes for free just to take him off his hands and then he went and sold those now he teaches people how to do this uh he has a site called the simplest biz.yelp.com line just piling up in their garage that many times become too much to fit in their regular recycling once a week or once every other week I have to take all of our cardboard break it down and drive it to the recycling center because it won't fit in our bin now there's a huge opportunity here for you to focus on cardboard removal and just offer a service where maybe it's weekly you show up at someone's house and you can break down and remove their cardboard so if they put their cardboard outside you can charge extra if they don't break it down and you'll just take it away for them it's an inconvenience for them to have to go break down all that cardboard and then drive it to the re Cycling Center there are some people who are going to do this but for a lot of people they would happily pay a monthly fee to have someone come every week and just take their cardboard off their hands especially if they don't even have to break it down if you'll just take all their boxes for them and do all that work there's a big opportunity for that and people are just getting more and more cardboard as people are buying more stuff online so I didn't really find any businesses that are doing this but I've thought about it before and I think there's a huge opportunity there and it is recurring Revenue we build up a bunch of customers have a regular route and you could use subcontractors to do this if they have a truck or a big SUV just come around pick up cardboard and then bring it to the recycling center some places will actually pay you for cardboard but it's a very simple service that you could either do yourself or have subcontractors go do for you and just build a cardboard removal business and focus solely on that now number 10 is house number painting so this is painting either addresses on the curb at houses you could also do this in commercial parking lots where they have handicap parking spots that need to be painted or fire lanes that need to be spray painted but where the real money would be made is going after HOAs or property management companies where you can get a bunch of people in a single area go do a bunch of jobs in a single day there's also a lot of people on YouTube who show that they're doing this as a side hustle making multiple hundreds of dollars a day just going door Todo asking people if they can paint their address on their sidewalk there is a scam out there where people will paint addresses on someone's sidewalk and then go up to the door and say hey it's $50 for your address to be painted acting like they're a part of the city or something like that don't do that that's a scam but there is a business opportunity here curb number painting.com does this they do it nationwide they do addresses so at residential houses they do addresses to be painted they do red curb painting and stenciling for cities or businesses they also have a separate site called curb number painting hoa.com where they focus on just HOAs and contacting HOAs to do that service for maybe everybody in the neighborhood they'll even put a specialized HOA designed logo on Thea address if they want them to so if you built a site around this you could definitely use subcontractors to go out and this work get a whole bunch of jobs maybe in a single HOA and then have them go do all those houses you pay them out a portion and you take a portion of the job it's very simple service you just get some stencils and spray paint the numbers on there very little learning curve for it there's some people doing as a side Hustle but there's not a lot of people out there doing it as a very professional service if we pull up that curb number painting.com in ahrs they have zero domain Rank and they're not getting a ton of traffic so they're mostly just calling on HOAs and Commercial Property Owners now number 11 is dead animal removal I talked about this in another video and you can make a lot of money removing dead animals or people generally a single dead animal to be removed can be anywhere from $200 to $600 and if it's in a difficult to get to place like an attic or a crawl space can be upwards of $1,000 to remove those dead animals I have a neighbor who had a dead bunny in her backyard she asked her Pest Removal company how much it would be to get rid of that and they quoted her $250 just to remove a dead bunny I went over there with a shovel and removed it it's a very simple service that you can do you can also do this for City for things like roadkill and clean that up for them you don't need a lot of skills for this a lot of people out there don't even want to look at a dead animal don't even want to have to deal with cleaning it up so if you're okay with doing that there is a huge opportunity to make a site around just dead animal removal and then you can use subcontractors Pest Removal companies to go out and do that removal for you you take a cut and they take a cut and dead animal removal is very easy to rank for one out of 100 on the difficulty scale 2.4 th000 people searching this per month and again this doesn't include people searching for dead animal removal near me or dead animal removal San Diego any other specific keyword it doesn't include any of those this is just people searching exactly for dead animal removal there's a lot of search volume out there keywords that you can Target that are low competition and it's a very simple service now lastly is light bulb and smoke detector replacement services so this would be replacing light bulbs and smoke detectors for this I would mainly Target commercial businesses so things like airbnbs Property Owners I own a couple rental properties and every time we turn over a house we have to go through and change check all the light bulbs change out light bulbs check all the smoke detectors make sure that there's new batteries in them they're working properly you can also Target commercial companies where you're changing out tube lights stuff like that I had a guy comment on one of these videos saying his friend was making $600 a day just changing out light bulbs so there is a lot of money to be made doing this there's some handyman companies and other companies out there that offer light bulb changing as an additional service but if you just focused on changing light bulbs changing smoke detectors this is a very needed service for commercial properties for airbnbs and maybe people who are just renting out their houses that they would definitely pay pay for and that isn't really being targeted and whenever there's a business that you can go after commercial customers I think it's a lot easier to get commercial customers than it is to get residential customers you can just call on these property management companies and sell them this service instead of having to call on every single residential customer and a lot of these property owners own a multiple different locations so if you secure a single customer you might have a lot of different locations that you could be doing this work looked up some pricing for changing light bulbs seemed like it's a $75 minimum service fee to come out $7 for every standard light bulb $20 for any specialty light bulb replacements for commercial jobs $100 minimum fee to come out and a $15 replacement fee for standard light bulbs and then $35 replacement fee for any specialty light bulbs and they may have a lot of light bulbs that need to be changed this can also be signage at businesses but this could be done either whether you do it yourself or again subcontract out handymen or electricians to go do some of this work you send them the jobs you take a cut and they take a cut but a very simple business that there's a lot of
