Blackboard Login & Support Guide

Overview

This lecture covers how to log in to Blackboard, set up multi-factor authentication, access support resources, and which browsers to use for best compatibility.

Logging into Blackboard

  • Blackboard is accessed via the Columbus State Community College portal.
  • Use your CSCC username and password to log in.
  • If you do not know your credentials, reset your password at https://password.cscc.edu/.
  • For login issues, refer to the support link "Why can't I log in?" or contact IT Support.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • Download an authenticator app (e.g., Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy) on your phone.
  • Scan the QR code or enter the provided key in your authenticator app.
  • Enter the 6-digit temporary code from the app on the Blackboard page to complete MFA setup.
  • After setup, a login code will be required for new or unrecognized devices.

Browser Compatibility and Warnings

  • Internet Explorer is not compatible with Blackboard; do not use it.
  • Recommended browsers are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or any browser from the supported browsers list.
  • Using unsupported browsers may cause performance issues or errors.

Support and Training Resources

  • Access various help resources including browser checks, training guides, and password resets via provided links.

  • Additional help is available through the Cyber Cafe in TL.

Training Accounts

  • Training access is intended only for users with designated training accounts.
  • Students, faculty, and staff must use the regular login procedure.
