How to Score Well on Casper Even if You're a Slow Typer

hello future doctors so many of you have been asking me recently and coming to me with the similar concerns that telling me Arvin if I can't really type very fast I'm a very slow typer can I still score fourth quartile on Casper in this video I'm going to address that so let's Dive Right In if you are new to my channel my name is Arvin ardakani and I help students like you get into medical school to be able to experience the joy of studying and practicing medicine I still remember my own time in undergrad preparing for Casper and I remember I was sitting beside my friends and they were typing with 10 fingers and the speed of typing of my friend was 100 or sometimes even above 100 words per minute and I was thinking to myself if he can type 100 words per minute in the typing section of Casper do I even have a chance to actually compete with him that was one of my main concerns so it's very normal if you're thinking that to yourself and as of today that I'm making this video still half of Casper is the typed response section now that might actually change in your future but as of now still half of Casper is typed meaning that they actually give you a scenario you have to analyze it and think about your response and actually type it in five minutes and I thought to myself if my friend can type 100 words per minute that means that he can type 500 Words and I can never type that many but then I thought to myself and I reflected a bit I researched a bit more and talked to other people who scored well on Casper and then I realized this actually Casper is not about how many words you type it's not about whoever tells us more about a situation they're gonna get a higher Mark that's actually not the case spirit is actually looking for the quality in your responses so if you can type 40 words per minute in five minutes plus it's still 200 words so you can play with 200 words in your response section right and the more clarity that you have in your response and as long as you hit all the points in your response you're gonna do well on Casper now that is why actually in my course I give my students a specific blueprint a specific structure that they follow for every single scenario remember that if you are typing less that doesn't mean that you are going to not do as well you can still do well however I want you to focus on your strategy focus on what you want to say for each specific scenario so that your thinking time is actually to the minimum because you have only five minutes and you're typing 40 words per minute let's say if you minimize that thinking time as soon as they give you the scenario you know exactly what you want to write and you have a complete blueprint that is going to put you in a point that as soon as they start the timer you'll start typing and you know exactly the points that you need to hit that's the main thing that I want you to focus on so try to come up with this strategy okay have this strategy of specific points or specific questions or scenarios that Casper asks and then for each scenario has a formula that you're following as long as you have that formula you're good because you can type even if you don't type as fast you can type all those points in that time that you have and then your response is going to have a very high quality so as a result you're going to get a high Mark and higher score on Casper now if you still want to improve your typing speed yes there are websites so you can actually top that on Google there are actually websites who teach you how to type with 10 fingers so that you can improve your typing speed if that's your main goal right now however I tell all my students this and I'm telling you this now if you have only a couple of weeks two three weeks until your transfer test you are much better spend and invest your time into crystallizing what you want to say because that's the main problem that a lot of students have it's better for you to invest your time into understanding and practicing what you exactly want to say how to articulate your thoughts and practice structuring your response that actually putting that time into you know um improving your typing speed so that's one thing that I want you to keep in mind okay if you would want to actually have a specific structure if you thought that you were struggling to actually find the structure because I've helped a lot of students in this path and I know that Casper actually older scenarios has a specific pattern check the link I'll put the link into the description to my course I've put together a course that actually tells you specifically every single scenario type that Casper could potentially test you on and I give a very clear blueprint and a strategy on how to follow that for every single scenario so that you actually don't need to think as much on the test do that and I promise you you're going to get fourth quartile on Casper so here you have it that's the answer to your question can I still score well yes definitely you can just come up with a strategy and I promise you you're gonna do well good luck foreign [Music]
