welcome to this short presentation on how to bring healing energy to the ears from a chinese medicine perspective you see hearing and the ears in chinese medicine is related to the water element and the kidneys if you look at the kidneys they look like ears so everything in chinese medicine is connected it describes relational energy meaning that the kidneys the bladder the bones the endocrine system and the ears are all related together they have a relationship they share a similar kind of energy so the ears when we want to bring healing energy there we're going to work on the kidneys i'll also teach you how to bring some healing energy to your hands and then guide and direct it to the ears a lot of people have problems with the ears as we get older tinnitus hearing loss pain infection these exercises will be good for all of that so what i want you to do is start with a few pressure points around the ears this one in particular right behind the earlobe is really good for ear pain or tinnitus or even jaw pain so this point here is triple burner 17. it's right behind the earlobe and if you feel right here there's a little indentation a little notch there so you can put first finger or middle finger right there press and just do a little circle press and wiggle a little bit just get some energy there stimulate the point press in it shouldn't be painful but you should notice it you should feel it press wiggle make a little circle hold a little pressure and then release press in again and then release press in again and then release and circle again now while you're doing this circling take a nice slow deep breath now take one finger behind the ear the other three fingers in front of the ear will do both sides and then what i want you to do is just rub up and down you're going to stimulate all the pressure points at the back of the ear all the pressure points on the front of the ear and we'll just go up and down vigorously up and down vigorously and this will really help to clear congestion out of the ears now take your first finger and your thumb and just squeeze on your on your earlobes and on the rest of the ear just kind of pull and stretch the ears this kind of helps to make more space in the ear canal you can feel that just pull and stretch the ears there are 161 acupressure points in the ears the ear is like a reflexology it reflects the whole body so as you're pulling like this you're actually helping to bring some energy to the rest of the body as well pull and stretch notice that when you pull the ear that opens and creates more space in the ear canal and then relax and then let me show you a flowing movement for the kidneys like i said the kidneys is the underlying energy that that brings chi to the ears so the kidneys would be like the branch of the tree and the ears would be like the flower so we want to get those the roots and the branches all nourished with energy and that's what this exercise will do so you're going to take a stance that's about shoulder width this one is called the fountain and it brings the water energy up through the body nourishing healing energy from the water element so the back of your hands go towards each other you're going to inhale and just float the hands up nice and slow circle the hands out and around the fountain you're going to just go like this hinge back with your hips inhale as you come up exhale arms out to the sides we're going to just do this for just a couple of minutes and let that energy rise up through the body circle around and inhale and then exhale notice that we're doing this nice and slow it's like a deep river moving with power with a deep underlying current and these flowing movements are like a moving meditation they help to calm the nervous system and bring healing energy into your body inhale as we come up exhale out to the sides breathe relax and flow and even relax into your spine a little bit more i want you to feel your spine like a wave in the ocean just let it roll through you inhale as we come up exhale arms out to the sides nice deep breath inhale exhale inhale come up exhale bring your palms so they face towards each other now here i want to teach you how to feel and sense energy in your hands go a little closer together with the hands hold for a little pause and then let the hands float apart i want you to sense and feel some energy in your hands we're going to bring healing energy to the hands and then we're going to take it and direct it right to the ears go back and forth with your hands take a nice slow deep breath now take the hands right here over the ears without touching and do the same thing i want you to send healing energy into the ears just glide the hands away from the head and then a little closer and a little further away a little closer so the hands are not touching just going back and forth and then just hold the hands just a few inches away from the ears and feel some warmth energy heat going right from the hands into the ears take a deep breath into that slowly bring your hands down now i want you to notice how your body feels do you feel tingling energy in your hands you want you can close your eyes do you feel some heat warmth and some activity in the ears very good you just did something extremely healing and beneficial not only to your ears but to your whole body qigong the exercises that we just did are energy enlivening it's a form of self-healing and when you do these exercises you can direct healing energy where you want it to go like we did for the ears do this
