Overview

  • monday.com: A work OS (operating system) to manage all business tasks from one platform.
  • Products: Work Management (core), Sales CRM, and Monday Dev.

Getting Started

  • Homepage: Initial screen upon login, can be accessed via the logo in the top left corner.

Boards

  • Definition: Central to managing workflows; the heart of the platform.
  • Use Case: Example project - Opening a Brooklyn Bakery.
  • Creating Boards:
    • Add new board (from scratch, template, or external data import).
    • Board types: Main, Private, Shareable.
    • Main Board: Open to all team members.
    • Private Board: Visible to specific subscribers.
    • Shareable Board: Private to team members; can include guests.

Board Structure

  • Items/Rows: Represent tasks or other components of the workflow.
  • Groups: Organize items by time, phases, locations, etc.
    • Example: Week 1, Week 2, Later.

Task Management

  • Sub-Items: Breakdown tasks into smaller parts.

Columns

  • Track different data types for each board item.
  • Default Columns:
    • People Column: Assign responsibilities.
    • Status Column: Customizable colored labels to indicate task status.
