How to Deactivate or Delete Your Telegram Account

Overview

• Telegram does not offer a temporary deactivation option.
• Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Steps to Set Automatic Deletion

1. Open Telegram App
   • Tap on the Settings icon at the bottom right corner.
2. Navigate to Privacy and Security
   • Go to Privacy and Security settings.
3. Find Automatic Account Deletion
   • Scroll down to Automatically Delete My Account section.
4. Set Time for Deletion
   • Tap on the option and select a time frame (1 month to 1 year).
   • If you do not log in within this time, your account will be automatically deleted.

Steps for Immediate Account Deletion

1. Delete Account Immediately
   • Scroll down and tap on Delete Account.
   • Choose Continue.
2. Enter Phone Number
   • Enter your phone number in the provided field and tap Continue.
3. Finalize Deletion
   • Tap Delete My Account one last time to permanently delete your account.

Important Notes

• Deleting your account will remove it across all linked devices.
• Ensure you want to proceed, as this action cannot be reversed.
