Musk-Trump Feud Analysis

So, here's my thoughts about the Elon Musk Donald Trump divorce. Mommy and daddy are fighting, potentially getting a divorce, and there's insults and there's a lot of drama and everybody got their popcorn out because this is playing out all over social media, whether it be X or Truth Social. Everything is out in the open, folks. Basically, here's the plot synopsis of what happened before this implosion took place. Elon Musk basically got ousted from the White House. I don't know what happened, but basically maybe he lost some political battles. Maybe Trump decided he doesn't want them anymore, but they made a very nice ceremony, a very nice send off to tell him to go take a hike. Obviously, he didn't appreciate that, and you can see it in the little send off they did for him. He wasn't really all that excited, but nevertheless, he basically took it. Then he basically gets wind of the new big black beautiful bill, whatever it's called, and uh he basically says, "Well, this is absolute insanity." And he calls it an abomination on X. And then he goes nuclear. He says, "Look, folks, this is just beyond abomination. We need to actively kill this bill." essentially not just voicing concerns and not just voicing objections to Donald Trump policies like he did with the tariffs. He's now saying, "Let's actively fight this." Rallying the troops on social media to go at Trump and against this bill. Trump basically retaliates by calling him crazy, saying, "I don't know what's wrong with this guy." And then Elon goes absolutely haywire calling Donald Trump the P word or allegedly basically saying, you know, he has Epstein connections. Allegedly Donald Trump retaliates by saying, "We're going to cancel your your contracts, your government contracts." Ilamas says, "We're going to ground our SpaceX missiles." Like absolute insanity. Both are fighting in a very infantile. Bad look for both. This seems like a high school feud between two girls. I don't know what's going on. It's not a good look for either and is just straight out embarrassing. I heard some people saying that this is manufactured, that this is basically an act. I personally don't think so. It seems real to me, but then again, who knows? Now, the question that I want to address in today's video because that's the only thing I care about in this little feud because I don't care about the drama is like how does it impact Tesla whatsoever, right? I mean, the whole idea of Donald Trump, Elon Musk is that this alliance was opening up a potential leeway for Elon Musk with regulatory shortcuts and the ability to launch FSD and robo taxis and all that stuff. And now with this little feud, maybe it's no longer the case. Now, I'd agree that definitely Tesla is no longer the darling of this administration clearly, right? But a long term, I don't think this matters, folks. Long-term thesis of Tesla is a lot bigger than Donald Trump liking Elon Musk or Donald Trump helping Tesla. Tesla has three main businesses where they're trying to hit a trillion dollar valuation. Whether it be full self-driving, whether it be robotics, whether it be the energy business, which is growing massively, we spoke about data centers and the amount of power and energy solutions, or whether it be just AI in general and the stuff that Elon is doing recently in AGI. So Tesla has a lot on their plate for the next 10 years and none of this has to do with Donald Trump or the policy in DC and the ability of Ilan Musk to be friends with with Trump. Obviously getting Trump on his side would have helped with the regulatory aspects of FSD and robo taxi for sure. And that's why I expect fully to see short-term turbulence and short-term pain in Tesla's stock price potentially quite significantly because that is now a major boo right now. Long-term investors shouldn't really be worrying about this because nothing is really happening. Whatever. Now, basically, how do I think this thing plays out? Because a lot of people ask me, well, Tom, how does this play out? I always analyze situations by interest, right? The interest basically will tell you how this is going to be solved. So look at both these people. They had a chance to sleep on it. And now they will both wake up today and they will say, "Well, it's not a good look for either of us. None of us are winning. Both of us look like idiots and nobody thinks this was a good idea." So they're both basically saying this was a bad idea and we're not getting anything out of this. Trump certainly does not want Elon Musk as an enemy. Elon has a massive social media platform, probably the biggest of them all as far as X and he can really hurt Trump where it's, you know, painful the most, which is his popularity, the PR war. If Elon Mus goes ham against Trump, him having a platform like X is going to be a major weapon and Trump definitely does not want that, right? Elon doesn't want to beef for Trump because he still needs to launch robo tax. He's an FSD and he's not interested in the relevant regulatory authority essentially making life very very difficult for him, right? Plus, he has a lot of business with the government through SpaceX. So, he certainly does not want to beef with Trump. So with both men understandably being very very emotional, wearing their hearts on their sleeves, both are very very infantile. You can see it. That's just the way they are. You have to take the good with the bad. You can't take Elon's genius and just take out the stuff where he's just behaving emotionally impulsively. Right? So, we've both had a chance to sleep on it and we both have team members essentially analyzing the situation just the way I'm doing this right now. They both will come to the conclusion eventually is that this thing is basically killing them both politically from a PR standpoint, business-wise. So, what I think is going to happen is there will be a truce. This is politics, folks. In politics, people can go from worst enemies and calling each other horrible things to best friends in just a couple of hours. This is politics. So, they will have a sit down. They will have a call. They'll hash it out. And then I assume there will be some sort of a truce. How genuine will this be? I don't know. But on the surface, it's going to clear up a lot of this. And then it's going to be a new new cycle, new drama, etc., etc. If they both choose to pursue this and to continue this beef, it would be purely based on ego and emotions because this would be a mutual suicide pact because both will suffer. So I don't expect them to behave irrationally and to push this forward. As for me and my community, we have done an excellent job of not letting this rattle us at all. We have made a community that basically stops us from being emotionally driven into decisions about our business. Our business is making money. Our business is investing. And if we see little drama like this playing out, we're not going to let it impact our business decisions. Our money and our emotions are not mixed up. And that's as simple as it goes. The communities, by the way, have been using the past 24 hours as some sort of a Kardashians reality TV episode. We were having popcorn, having a laugh, exchanging memes, but pretty much everybody were saying, "Hey, if you love Tesla, what changed? Did Tesla thesis change because of this feud?" I don't think so. If you hated Tesla before and you thought that the thesis was broken, well, it still is. And if you thought that the Tesla Scurve is not in the vehicles and it's FSD, robotics and AI and energy, then that hasn't changed. So nothing changed in the thesis, which means if you hated it before, you hate it today. If you loved it before, you love it even more because it's on a discount. Good investors, they are happy no matter what happens. If you are a good investor and you have a high conviction stock like Tesla, you're happy when it goes up because your net worth is going up and you're happy when it drops because you have an opportunity to buy at a discount. You don't have bad days in the market when you're a long-term investor with a high conviction in a stock like Tesla. Can be Tesla, can be other stocks. In fact, in our community on patreon.com/tomnash, I'm going to put the link in the pin comment and in the description of this video, we actually put out a top 10 AI stock list that are under the radar that nobody's talking about. Not the usual stuff, not large language models, actual AI monsters that nobody's talking about, under the radar, complete sleepers. If you want to get that and actually do some investing work while everybody else is having popcorn, watching this drama, join us. We have the next meeting this upcoming Sunday where we'll go through more of these things. We already have 60 lectures about long-term investing in our academy. and you'll be joining what I think is the best investing community in the world, our Discord, where you can have a group of like-minded professionals who are very experienced investing, who will let you know about stocks you're asking, about situation, and they will prevent you from making stupid mistakes mostly because it's a group of experienced people who are there to help each other, which is probably my favorite part about the community. So, anyways, enough with me rambling on. Thank you so much. We'll see how this thing plays out. I'm actually quite curious to see, but it will not impact my investing decisions whatsoever. Hope it makes things clear for you and I'll see you in the next one.
