alright guys we just finished the adult skull so now what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and get into the fetal skull what we're going to do in this video we'll talk about the fontanel so if you look here fontanelles they are basically just connective tissue and there designed to allow for the the skull to expand so that the brain can you know take on that increasing space so obviously any type of irregular closure of these can lead to a lot of different issues that we might talk about in future videos if we actually look here this right here this fontanelle it's going to be called the anterior fontanelle, its called the anterior fontanelle then if we come over here i'm gonna flip in the back here is the posterior part of the skull is going to be the posterior fontanelle that's the posterior fontanelle right there then if we flip over here to the lateral side over here right there that's going to be called the mastoid fontanelle and the last fontanelle over here is going to be called the sphenoid fontanelle ok so again we got anterior fontanelle posterior fontanelle mastoid fontanelle and sphenoid fontanelle
